Meeting Royalty
Previous ChapterTwo days had past since the battle with the cloned Goku and the saiyans were back on their feet, good as new. However because of the past shenanigans Twilight had completely forgotten to tell Goku and Vegeta what had happened in Canterlot.
"So it was just some boring old meeting?" Vegeta asked.
"Well, I wouldn't say that." Twilight replied.
"But if your not a princess, then why did they ask you to attend the Princess Summit?" Dash asked from the kitchen.
"This was a special meeting Dash, I had to explain the situation to all three princesses." Twilight responded.
"Oh." Rainbow Dash had returned to the center room with a sandwich in hoof.
"Now something I had forgotten to tell you two..." Twilight was pointing a hoof in Goku and Vegetas direction, "was that the princesses want to meet you both. So you need to go to Canterlot."
"Today?" Vegeta asked.
"Right now?" Goku added.
"Yes, now you'll have to leave right away if want to catch the early train." Twilight said as she pulled two train tickets from her saddle bag and levitated them over to the two warriors.
Vegeta gave Goku a confused look as he read his ticket, then returned his stare to Twilight. "Have you forgotten that we can fly." he stated.
Twilights usual purple face turned a slight shade of red as she had forgotten this. "Oh...right."
Vegeta sighed, "Come on Kakarot, lets get this over with."
Vegeta nodded goodbye to Rainbow Dash and Goku gave a wave to Twilight as they took to the air and headed towards the big city on the side of the mountain.
Twilight and Rainbow Dash watched the saiyans fly away but Twilight was confused on something.
"Rainbow Dash, how long do you plan on staying with me?"
"What? uhm..." Dash coughed a bit and then took off for her cloud house to make sure everything was still there.
"Alright Kakarot, you let me handle the talking. We don't need you to mess things up around here." Vegeta told Goku while on their way to Canterlot.
Goku returned a look to Vegeta, "Hey, fine by me...I'm just wondering if they have any good food at the palace."
Vegeta sighed and smiled as they reached Canterlot and went in for a landing. It took longer for them to get there than what it should have although they weren't really pushing themselves very hard. The sun was moving into its setting position and began to wash over Canterlot in a light orange shade. It was difficult for them to tell what could have been the palace since most of the buildings looked similar to each other.
"Hmm, what we need is a guard." Vegeta said to himself.
What the two hadn't realized was they were drawing a decent crowd. Most were Unicorns but Earth ponies and Pegasi were there as well.
The crowd split as three royal guards walked to where the saiyans were standing. "You two must be the visitors that the Princesses are expecting."
"Yeah, that's us alright." Goku said louder than what he had intended.
"Then come with us." The guards had turned around and were leading them to the palace, which they had surprising almost landing on.
After the escort brought them down several hallways and up multiple stairs they stopped in front of a large double door with decorations all over it.
"This is as far as we are suppose to take you. The Princesses will be inside." The guards turned around and headed back the way they came.
"Wow, these Princesses must be really important." Goku said admiring the door.
"No Kakarot, really? It's not like they're rulers or something." Vegeta said sarcastically as he pushed open the doors.
What was on the other side was two alicorns talking to each other but cut their conversation short as their visitors came through the door. One of the princesses was a tall white alicorn with wavy hair and the other was shorter but still taller than an average pony. She was dark blue and also had wavy hair like the taller one.
"Hello, you must be the saiyans that Twilight told us about, you may call me Celestia. I'm sorry to say that princess Cadence had to return to the Crystal Empire on urgent business." Celestia said in a formal fashion.
"And I am Luna, I am glad to see thou had a safe journey." Luna added.
"Hmm." Vegeta took a quick evaluation of the two then introduced who they were, "I'm Vegeta and this is Kakarot, but he prefers Goku."
"That's right." Goku added.
Vegeta turned his head towards Goku, "Kakarot, let me handle this."
"What interesting names." Celestia said, "Why do you go by a different name?" she asked towards Goku.
"Kakarot is his saiyan name and...it's a long story." Vegeta told her.
"I see, please, tell me about yourselves." Celestia had a guard bring in some tea during their short conversation.
Vegeta suddenly felt worried as to how they would take how he has lived his life, "Well I-" Vegeta was cut off by Luna.
"My sister only wishes to know of your intensions. And do not think you will be able to get a lie past us." Luna explained.
Vegeta loved a challenge but he would try to get a lie past them another day.
Vegeta explained his life to the two princesses in detail. He told of the worlds he had conquered and the greater number of worlds he had destroyed. In addition to this he told how he had changed when he began to live on Earth.
Goku on the other hand, told them all about his good deeds, recent accomplishments and the friends and family they had lost back home. They had also explained who Cell was in great detail.
"My..." Luna managed, "This sort of magic is...unheard of."
"I've never heard of it either." Celestia added.
Vegeta was beginning to get annoyed with the assumption of magic, "It's not magic...Don't assume everything is magic."
"But magic is all around us. It raises the sun." Celestia started.
"And lowers the moon." Luna finished.
Vegeta leaned towards Goku and whispered, "This is starting to sound like an old movie I watched with Bulma."
"No kidding." Goku replied. He then asked, "So, why did you want to see us?"
Celestia and Luna gave a quick look to each other and Celestia explained the situation in a more serious tone. "The one you called Cell must be trying to find a way here."
"How could you know that?" Vegeta questioned.
"It's strange...we both can feel an evil presence working it's way into our plane of existence." Celestia explained. "We thought that it may have been some sort of misreading on our part, but this explains it."
"And it is much stronger than we are." Luna added. "Even the elements may prove powerless against this creature."
"Well..." Goku began but was unsure if he should say his what was on his mind.
"Go on. We don't judge bad ideas." Celestia said with a warm smile.
"Well, back home we had these things called Dragon Balls. There were seven of them and when you gathered them together they would grant you a wish. Of course they had limitations, but wouldn't you think those would be nice to have."
"Hmm...can you explain what they looked like." Celestia was interested in what Goku was explaining.
"Sure, they were small spheres, like this." Goku shaped his hand as if he was holding one. "And they had stars on them, going from one to seven."
The idea of these objects caught Celestias interest. "And when they were together, you would just say your wish?" she asked.
"No. You would call out the eternal dragon and you would ask him for the wish."
Celestia looked towards Luna and asked, "What do you think sister? Could we do it?"
Luna was at loss and Celestia understood this, then looked back towards the saiyans. "We will do our best to create these, dragon balls. And maybe their power will be enough to help us against cell."
Goku realized that he had given the wrong impression of the balls, "Well. Now, you see, the dragon balls won't solve our problems. Cells' just too strong for them to really have any effect. I was thinking more along the lines of using them to repair any damage that might come out of all this."
"Then you two can stop him?" Luna asked.
Vegeta turned around knowing the answer all too well to that question and Goku had put his hand behind his head, "Well uh, you see...we can't stop him either..."
Luna began to loose her cool, "So we are all just to die then."
"Sister please, calm down...besides, you have the moon you could hide on...I can't exactly stay on the sun." Celestia was trying to calm Luna, which worked and she even got a slight laugh from it.
There was a pause in the room as everyone thought of a way to avoid disaster. Luna was the first to speak up. "What if we used a spell to increase your strength Goku, you would get it as well Vegeta."
"Hmm, that definitely sounds better than being dead." Vegeta said starting to feel some hope and pride coming back.
Goku looked towards Vegeta, "Yeah, but that doesn't seem right, or even fair."
"WHAT! FAIR!...Kakarot you have got to be kidding me! He killed your son! My son! Our families! And yet, you still want to give him a fair chance!... You're crazy!"
Celestia laughed to herself and walked over to Goku. The two stood close to each other and Goku was clearly taller, but her horn made it close. "I admire your character. You truly are honest to yourself and others around you."
"I promise, Vegeta and I will find a way to beat this guy...we have to." Goku responded.
"And I believe you."
Vegeta and Luna were almost going crazy over this new development...It was such a good idea, how could Celestia and Goku want to pass it up.
"Celestia." Goku said as Celestia sat back in her throne. "There's something I wanted to ask you."
"Is it about you being cloned?" she asked.
"Yeah. I wanted to ask if you knew anything about it. Maybe who would be behind it."
"Well." Celestia hesitated as she thought. "It's possible that King Sombra is behind this since we're dealing with crystals but it's hard to say."
Goku sighed. "So we're in uncharted territory, huh?"
Luna cut in, "Uncharted? Are we not in Equestria?"
"No no." Goku laughed. "It's a saying back on Earth. What I mean is we don't know where we stand."
"I see." Luna was still struggling with the culture change from when she was imprisoned in the moon but was good at playing along. As Luna continued to think things over she had left the throne room and headed to her favorite place to raise the moon. Memories still lurked in the back of her mind. How she was turned into Nightmare Moon and how the moon had looked much different then usual when she raised it to block out Celestias sun. Luna only wanted to block out the sun and prove a point to her sister but something had possessed her and the Elements of Harmony brought her back to the way she was before, this was something she hoped would never happen again.
Vegeta continued to stand to the side not caring that Goku had taken over the situation. He was actually kind of glad this happened, it gave him a chance to think things over. Something he couldn't understand was how a crystal copy of Goku could come out just as strong as them and then continue to grow in power as they fought it. And it had knowledge of them as well. Maybe not who they were exactly but it definitely identified their form.
The other major thought he held was of Cell. That monster was working his way into Equestria and they were the only beings even close enough in power to stop him.
The day was growing later as Rainbow Dash finished off a quick salad she prepared herself for dinner and decided that she would return to the library since it was most likely the place that Goku and Vegeta would return to.
She pet Tank on the head, "Hold the fort down while I'm gone, alright."
Tank turned his head to the side and gave a smile of acknowledgment.
"And no wild parties while I'm gone...Or at least wait for me to get back before you start it." Dash said as she closed the door to her cloud house and began to fly to the library.
It was a beautiful evening. The clouds were standard cloudsdale sized and Rainbow Dash admired them greatly. The sun was slowly setting in the background causing orange streams of light to shine out over the sky, except...
"What the hay?" Dash asked herself as a ray of sunlight seemed to be gleaming up from the ground and off away from ponyville. "I wonder what that could be? Maybe it's a jewel that somepony dropped. I bet Spike would love that, especially since he's worked so hard lately."
Dash broke off from her flight path and landed near the crystal. It was clear, and had a white shade on some of the edges. It also held a different look to it then other crystals in the area.
"Huh. Must be a rare one or something." Dash reached her hoof out to scoop up the gem but the crystal rolled away from her causing it to go down a slope it was near. "What? Get back here!" she jumped and used her wings to get some extra speed to catch to the crystal which she pulled off perfect as it came to a stop at the bottom of the hill.
While she was holding it a sudden tingling sensation rushed through her body causing her to drop the crystal and stare at her front hooves. "What was that?" she asked herself.
"I don't know."
Rainbow Dash jumped up and almost fell onto her face as she heard the words come out of nowhere. "Who said that?" she said continuing to look in the direction of ponyville.
"Me."
"Me who?" Dash asked.
"Hmm, I'm not sure. Hold on."
Suddenly Dash felt a cold chill run down her spine as she recognized the voice and realized that it was coming from behind her.
"Oh yeah, it's Rainbow Dash."
Dash turned around to find herself looking face to face with...herself.
"That's not possible." Dash said quietly.
The copy smiled.
"Oh no." Dash looked for the crystal but it couldn't be found, she then turned her attention back to the copy.
"You know something." The copy said in Dash's voice. "And my boss would love to get his hooves on what you know."
"W-w-wwhat do you mean? I don't know anything!" Dash continued to stare at the copy which took a step forward still smiling. "Please don't tell me you're like that copy of Goku."
"Oh so you met that thing. What was it's name? Goku? How weird. See that's the kind of stuff my boss wants to know. His plans to rule Equestria were going so smoothly until those creatures showed up." the copy held an arrogant tone.
"How did they mess up his plans?" Dash asked with hesitation.
"Look, I don't know the specifics but it's something about them. Just them being here is messing things up. My boss can tell you better than I can, I can't wait for you to meet him!"
"Whoa hey wait." Dash started, "I already said I don't know anything, you want Twilight. She's the egghead around here."
"Ha! Yeah right. Did you see what she did to that crystal copy of one of those creatures. No thanks, I'm staying away from her. Also I hope you don't mind, but this is the part where I have to knock you out."
"What!" Dash leaped away narrowly avoiding the quick advance from the copy. Dash took the sky with the copy in hot pursuit, she decided the best course of action was to head to the library. Twilight could fix this. She can fix anything.
Dash's train of thought was cut short by the copy who had cut her off with incredible speed. Time seemed to come to a stand still as the copy made a direct hit on Dash's' neck causing her to blackout immediately.
The last words she heard as she fell to the ground were, "Oh, my boss is going to love you, strong headed and strong bodied! Literally, what the buck are you made of, that hit actually hurt."
