Bass Drop was walking down the street, happy as can be. He was always a happy pony, nopony could never tell him not to be happy. Even though he is always so happy, he does have his sad days though. When he is sad, he become dark and deflated, and nopony ever noticed it, but he becomes crazy. Not your average crazy "yelling at random ponies" crazy, i mean really insane, very, very, Insane, so do not make him mad, you'll regret it.
Bass rounded a corner and saw a sight that always made him happy, Sugar-cube Corner. It wasn't the delicious treats that made him love it so much, neither was the decor, no, it was the pink party mare behind the counter that he admired so, he thinks about her so much. Now don't get me wrong, he has other crushes as well, like the beautiful, and well mannered Rarity, who seems to give him little looks now and again, but Pinkie Pie was his main mare, and he was always after her.
Bass had also become good friends with Pinkie, since he thought that was the best way to try and get her to be really close with him. He knew he loved her, even as friends he knew it, everything about her attracted him. Her voice, her face, even the smell of her mane when she'd give him a friendly hug that made his heart melt every time. He loved her, wanted to shout it to the world, and wasn't afraid to do so, he was just worried Pinkie would shoot him down.
Thinking about all this gave him a headache and he became quite hungry too, so he decided he was gonna go in and get a pink frosted sprinkled doughnut and a Pinkie shake. He would always get that combination if he went in, mostly because he liked the taste of the doughnut mixed with the shake. So he walked in, and up to the counter, and rang the bell.
"Pinkie! I'm here!" he shouted to the back room.
He heard quite a bit of shuffling, along with really quick clopping sounds, and a little squealing, which made him quite concerned, worried something had happened.
"Uh, you okay, Pinkie?" he asked a little loud.
"Yeah, I'm fine! Ah, i'll be out in a second!" She yelled back.
Bass waited a few minutes, whistling and looking about the well organized establishment. He did a once-over of the menu to see if he would like to order anything else, nothing honestly tickled his fancy today, so he decided to stick with the usual today. When he looked back at the door, he saw the pink mare trotting out, sweating a little.
"Hiya, Bass! The usual?" asked an ecstatic Pinkie Pie, jumping up and down in front of Bass.
"Of course! What else would I get, right?" Bass asked, chucking, Pinkie giggling along with him.
"Okie dokie lokie! Wait a quick second!" said Pinkie, going into the back room and returning literally 5 or 6 seconds later, a plate with the pink frosted sprinkled doughnut, and his pinkie shake on it.
She hoofed the plate to Bass, who then put 5 bits o the counter to pay his fee for the service. He thanked her, and went to sit at a nearby table, as Pinkie went about her work duties. Bass took a sip of his drink, loving it. Bass always knew she put something in his specific shake, he knew when he tried his friend's exact flavor, and it had tasted different. His was better, the special taste, he couldn't quite place a hoof on it, but he knew he liked it.
Whenever he asked what she puts in it, she always sweats a little and gets really nervous. She'd usually just say "uhm, love and friendship", which Bass knew that wasn't it, so he just decided not to pry. He thought while he chowed down on his doughnut and shake. He got an absolutely, positively, fabulous as Rarity would say, but he wouldn't say that word even if his life depended on it.
His great idea, was that he was going to ask Pinkie Pie over for dinner at his house, tonight as well. He had it all thought out, He was gonna walk up, look her dead in the face, and say "Pinkie, would you like to come over for dinner tonight?". Yes, that's his plan.
Once he finished his food, he threw his cup away, and put his plate on the counter. Once he finished all that, he walked straight over to Pinkie, who gave him a big smile. He prepared himself for the worse response she could give him, but he doubted that would happen.
"Uhm Pink-.." oh no, his voice had gave out, that was totally embarrassing, especially since she giggled a little, this was not going as planned at all, he was going to ruin it, so to cover it up, he coughed quite a bit.
"Excuse me, so uh, Pinkie pie, would.......would you like to uh..... come over to my house tonight for some dinner?" he finally asked, blushing, faintly and meekly smiling, and sweating all at the same time.
She blushed, and gave him that beautiful smile, and responded with "Sure, i'd love to".
He couldn't believe what his ears, he actually pulled it off, he got it.
"g-great! What would you like to eat?" he asked.
Pinkie pondered for a little while, thinking about possible dinner choices, and simply said, "How about some cake? That sounds good" she said.
Bass found it a little weird that she wanted cake for dinner, but found he didn't care as long as she was coming over, so he said "Cake, alright, we'll have some cake together for dinner". She giggled, and said "Thanks, Bass, i will be there", and she turned and walked away, brushing her tail under his chin.
He couldn't believe it. He had gotten himself a date with Pinkamena Diane Pie.
