Fire vs. Water

     Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo were trotting down the street.  They were about to attempt another reckless scheme to try and earn their cutiemarks.

     "I sure hope this plan works." Apple Bloom said hopefully "I mean, it didn't go so well the last time we tried..."

     "Aww, come on Apple Bloom, just because it didn't work the first time doesn't mean it won't work now!" Scootaloo exclaimed.

     "Yeah, last time Fluttershy did it for us!" Sweetie Belle squeaked.

     "Well if you say so Sweetie Belle." Apple Bloom

said hesitantly.  She sighed and looked at her hooves.  If there was a cockatreese in there, who knows what other creatures lurk there as well.  The girls finally made it to the edge of the Everfree Forest.

     "Well here goes nothing!" Scootaloo explained.

     "Cutiemark Crusaders beast tamers!" The girls said hoof bumping.  Scootaloo ran in first.  Sweetie Belle wasn't far behind.  Apple Bloom was slower going in, but she didn't want to keep her friends waiting.

     "There you are Apple Bloom!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed when Apple Bloom caught up.  The girls continued deeper into the forest.  The sound of snoring could be heard.  Apple Bloom's ears perked up.

     Scootaloo must have heard it to, because she galloped towards the sound.  Apple Bloom quickly followed.  She saw Scootaloo paralyzed with a look of pure fear across her face.  Apple Bloom turned her head to see the sleeping beasts.

     They were very large and there seemed to be two different species.  One species was more cat like and had flames dancing  on their paws.  The other species was more like a dog and had tails made of water.  Sweetie Belle came bounding around the corner.

      She was so busy whistling she didn't notice the sleeping creatures.  Bumping face first into a firecat, Sweetie Belle stopped whistling.  The cat opened it's massive green eyes and snarled.  Sweetie Belle screamed.

     This woke up the other dogs and cats.  The creatures shook of their sleepiness and lunged at the CMC.  Apple Bloom grabbed Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo.  The three fillies ran as fast as they could.

     "Help!  They're after us!" They screamed as the ran into Ponyville.  Twilight Sparkle opened the top part of her door and poked her head out.

     "What in Equestria's name is going on out there?" Twilight questioned.  A fire cat nipping at a water dogs tail ran by Twilight's window.

     "Oh." Twilight said realizing the problem.
