Young love.

The sun was rising, for a new morning had begun in Equestria, and Rainbow Dash woke up as the sun shined onto her eyes. "Uhh.... Go to bed sun!" Dash said, as she pulled the covers over her head.  "Wait! Bash!" Rainbow Dash said, as she jumped out of bed to go wake up her son, remembering it was his first day of school. In fact, it was his first day of actually leaving their house in general!

When Rainbow Dash was a senior in college, she had hooked up with her stallionfriend at a party after getting drunk from drinking too much cider, and the two.... Well, they fooled around in a hallway closet. A couple of months after the college senior party, and Dash had found out she had gotten pregnant, and told her stallionfriend. Ever since he left her after finding out, she rarely talked to him, but was still friends with him. Every time she ever thought about the day he broke up with her, she remembers everything that happened.

As Dash went to her son's room to wake him up, she remembered how her stallionfriend broke up with her, because he didn't want to be a dad. "Ass..." Dash said, as a tear formed in her eye. She wiped the tear away, and slowly opened her son's door, to see her son sleeping. She smiled at the peaceful sight that was before her.

Dash nudged her son's shoulder with her right hoof. "Bash. Cloud Basher," Dash said to her son silently "wake up, it's the first day of school for you." The cyan Pegasus mare said.

Cloud Basher opened his eyes, to see his mother sitting next to him in his bed. "Morning mom. What's going on?" The red Pegasus colt asked his mother.

"It's your first day of school sweetie!" Dash said, weaving her hoof through her son's blonde mane. "Come on, I'll make you breakfast." Dash said, as she went down stairs to make herself and her son some oatmeal.

When Cloud Basher came downstairs, he rubbed his blue eyes as he sat down at the table. "Hey mom, what if I get made fun of?" Bash asked his mother.

"For what?" Dash asked "You're an amazing son, and the son of the best flier in Equestria! Why would any pony make fun of you?" Dash said, realizing that her son was covering his flank with his tail. "OH come on, just cause you don't have a cutie mark doesn't mean you'll be made fun of! Now go on, finish your oatmeal." Dash said, as she continued to eat her breakfast.

When the two pegasi finished their breakfast, Cloud Basher got ready for school, and he and his mother flew down to ground level to Ponyville's schoolhouse. When they reached the schoolhouse, Bash stayed behind his mother, afraid of what the other kids would think of him. "Come on Bash, it'll be alright. Trust me." Dash said, as she nuzzled the top of her son's head.

"Ok mom, I trust you!" Bash said, as he hugged his mother, then ran into the school.

As class began, a mare with three sunflowers for a cutie mark walked into the class room, and said "Hello class, it's so good to see you all again! For our new student, my name's Ms. Cheerilee. Now," Cheerilee said, as she looked over at Bash "why don't you come up and introduce your self."

Reluctant to towards the teacher, Bash walked up to the front of the room and said "Hi... my name's Cloud Basher, but I go by Bash. I.... I haven't actually been aloud outside of my house before, except when I had flying lessons with my mom..." Bash said.

Some of the kids in the class had laughed a bit, while others raised an eyebrow in questioning who the colt's mother was. Eventually, some kids raised hands and asked questions.

At one point, a filly raised her hoof and asked "So, is your mom over protective, or just stupid?" the filly with a silver mane said "Blankflank!" she continued, then began to laugh as another filly who was wearing a tiara also began to laugh.

"Hey, my mom isn't stupid, or over protective! She's more brave than you could ever be!" Bash began to say "How would you like it if you were kept in a house for eight years!?" Bash said, as he walked closer to the filly who made fun of him, and his mother.

"Cloud Basher!" Cheerilee said "Fighting is not permitted, now go to your desk before you get in more trouble!" Cheerilee said, pointing to the open desk with Bash's belongings in the front row of the room.

When Bash sat down at his desk, he got out a notebook that he would be using daily to keep track of his life at school whenever he could write in it, and wrote his first passage for it.

"Great. Day one and I've already been made fun of. I'm not gonna like this place, am I? Oh well, I'll just try to make it through the year with good grades as much as I can.

Cloud Basher. "

When Bash looked up from his note book, Ms. Cheerilee had begun to talk about the history of Equestria, so to refresh the kids' minds for their upcoming test, as she told them before continuing on with the lesson, then went on to some math, and then reading.

At one point, some unicorn filly with a curly mane wouldn't stop looking at Bash, and every time he turned to the filly, she turn away as quick as she could. Bash even got a note from the filly, with the words "Do you like me?" written on it, but it wasn't signed by the filly. Bash just shrugged it off, thinking that she'd ask him again later at some point in the day.

Before he knew it, the recess bell rang, and he wasn't more glad to have left the compact room he was trapped inside. When the foals were let outside, Bash flew into the sky and got some pieces of cloud to make a small bed out of, and decided to nap there for a bit. Several minutes after he tried to drift into sleep, and he heard a filly say "Hey, Bash! Down here!" an orange filly said.

Bash looked down and said "Yeah, whadda you want?" curious as to why the filly was talking to him.

"Me and my friends are a part of this club, you wanna join?" The orange filly said "We're the Cutie Mark Crusaders! My name's Scootaloo, and this is Sweetie Belle and Applebloom!" Scootaloo said, pointing to her two friends.

"Sure, I could use some friends!" Bash said "Now, if you don't mind, I'm gonna continue my nap." Bash finished, going back to sleep.

"Oh, OK, later!" Scootaloo said, as she walked off with her friends. "There, you happy Sweetie Belle?" Scootaloo asked.

"Come on, you know I can't ask things to colts I have a crush on." Sweetie Belle said "Besides, you saw how Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara were jerks to him, he needs some friends!"

"OK, but if 'e turns out t' be more trouble than 'e seems, e's out, ya here?" Applebloom asked.

"Fine, but I'll keep an eye on him." Sweetie Belle said, as the school bell rang again, telling the foals outside that it was time to go inside.
