"Uhh.... Go to bed sun!" Dash said, as she pulled the covers over her head.  "Wait! Bash!" Rainbow Dash said, as she jumped out of bed to go wake up her son, remembering it was his first day of school. In fact, it was his first day of actually leaving their house in general! When Rainbow Dash was a senior in college, she had hooked up with her stallionfriend at a party after getting drunk from drinking too much cider, and the two.... Well, they fooled around in a hallway closet. A couple of months after the college senior party, and Dash had found out she had gotten pregnant, and told her stallionfriend. Ever since he left her after finding out, she rarely talked to him, but was still friends with him. Every time she ever thought about the day he broke up with her, she remembers everything that happened. As Dash went to her son's room to wake him up, she remembered how her stallionfriend broke up with her, because he didn't want to be a dad. "Ass..." Dash said, as a tear formed in her eye. She wiped the tear away, and slowly opened her son's door, to see her son sleeping. She smiled at the peaceful sight that was before her. Dash nudged her son's shoulder with her right hoof. "Bash. Cloud Basher," Dash said to her son silently "wake up, it's the first day of school for you." The cyan Pegasus mare said. Cloud Basher opened his eyes, to see his mother sitting next to him in his bed. "Morning mom. What's going on?" The red Pegasus colt asked his mother. "It's your first day of school sweetie!" Dash said, weaving her hoof through her son's blonde mane. "Come on, I'll make you breakfast." Dash said, as she went down stairs to make herself and her son some oatmeal. When Cloud Basher came downstairs, he rubbed his blue eyes as he sat down at the table. "Hey mom, what if I get made fun of?" Bash asked his mother. "For what?" Dash asked "You're an amazing son, and the son of the best flier in Equestria! Why would any pony make fun of you?" Dash said, realizing that her son was covering his flank with his tail. "OH come on, just cause you don't have a cutie mark doesn't mean you'll be made fun of! Now go on, finish your oatmeal." Dash said, as she continued to eat her breakfast. When the two pegasi finished their breakfast, Cloud Basher got ready for school, and he and his mother flew down to ground level to Ponyville's schoolhouse. When they reached the schoolhouse, Bash stayed behind his mother, afraid of what the other kids would think of him. "Come on Bash, it'll be alright. Trust me." Dash said, as she nuzzled the top of her son's head. "Ok mom, I trust you!" Bash said, as he hugged his mother, then ran into the school. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As class began, a mare with three sunflowers for a cutie mark walked into the class room, and said "Hello class, it's so good to see you all again! For our new student, my name's Ms. Cheerilee. Now," Cheerilee said, as she looked over at Bash "why don't you come up and introduce your self." Reluctant to towards the teacher, Bash walked up to the front of the room and said "Hi... my name's Cloud Basher, but I go by Bash. I.... I haven't actually been aloud outside of my house before, except when I had flying lessons with my mom..." Bash said. Some of the kids in the class had laughed a bit, while others raised an eyebrow in questioning who the colt's mother was. Eventually, some kids raised hands and asked questions. At one point, a filly raised her hoof and asked "So, is your mom over protective, or just stupid?" the filly with a silver mane said "Blankflank!" she continued, then began to laugh as another filly who was wearing a tiara also began to laugh. "Hey, my mom isn't stupid, or over protective! She's more brave than you could ever be!" Bash began to say "How would you like it if you were kept in a house for eight years!?" Bash said, as he walked closer to the filly who made fun of him, and his mother. "Cloud Basher!" Cheerilee said "Fighting is not permitted, now go to your desk before you get in more trouble!" Cheerilee said, pointing to the open desk with Bash's belongings in the front row of the room. When Bash sat down at his desk, he got out a notebook that he would be using daily to keep track of his life at school whenever he could write in it, and wrote his first passage for it. "Great. Day one and I've already been made fun of. I'm not gonna like this place, am I? Oh well, I'll just try to make it through the year with good grades as much as I can. Cloud Basher. " When Bash looked up from his note book, Ms. Cheerilee had begun to talk about the history of Equestria, so to refresh the kids' minds for their upcoming test, as she told them before continuing on with the lesson, then went on to some math, and then reading. At one point, some unicorn filly with a curly mane wouldn't stop looking at Bash, and every time he turned to the filly, she turn away as quick as she could. Bash even got a note from the filly, with the words "Do you like me?" written on it, but it wasn't signed by the filly. Bash just shrugged it off, thinking that she'd ask him again later at some point in the day. Before he knew it, the recess bell rang, and he wasn't more glad to have left the compact room he was trapped inside. When the foals were let outside, Bash flew into the sky and got some pieces of cloud to make a small bed out of, and decided to nap there for a bit. Several minutes after he tried to drift into sleep, and he heard a filly say "Hey, Bash! Down here!" an orange filly said. Bash looked down and said "Yeah, whadda you want?" curious as to why the filly was talking to him. "Me and my friends are a part of this club, you wanna join?" The orange filly said "We're the Cutie Mark Crusaders! My name's Scootaloo, and this is Sweetie Belle and Applebloom!" Scootaloo said, pointing to her two friends. "Sure, I could use some friends!" Bash said "Now, if you don't mind, I'm gonna continue my nap." Bash finished, going back to sleep. "Oh, OK, later!" Scootaloo said, as she walked off with her friends. "There, you happy Sweetie Belle?" Scootaloo asked. "Come on, you know I can't ask things to colts I have a crush on." Sweetie Belle said "Besides, you saw how Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara were jerks to him, he needs some friends!" "OK, but if 'e turns out t' be more trouble than 'e seems, e's out, ya here?" Applebloom asked. "Fine, but I'll keep an eye on him." The end of the day came, after the class had a geography lesson, and some reading done. After Bash had left the school house, he was stopped by his new friends. "Hey Bash, come on! We wanna show you the clubhouse!" Scootaloo said. Bash rubbed the back of his head as he had started flying "I dunno guys, mom wants me to get home after school ends everyday now. Sorry, but my mom doesn't want me headin' anywhere without her knowing." "Oh come on!" Sweetie Belle said "I hope you don't mind us asking, but who's your mom anyways?" Sweetie Belle asked, not knowing that what she asked would make Cloud Basher stop dead in his flying tracks. Bash flew down to the ground, and closed his wings and said "Oh.... my mom? My mom's name is Rainbow Dash." As he placed one hoof behind another. He looked over at his friends, mainly at Scootaloo, who seemed to be the most shocked. "YOUR MOM IS RAINBOW DASH!?" Scootaloo asked with excitement "WHAT'S IT LIKE?" Cloud Basher backed up in fear, and for his personal space, and said "It's like having a mom, but without a dad....." Bash said, looking at the clouds above them and imagining who his dad might be. "Do you guys have a dad?" Scootaloo nodded her head, Sweetie Belle said "Yeah, he's awesome! Most times anyways..." And Applebloom said "Ah don't have a pa, but mah brother Big Macintosh is like a dad to me!" Cloud Basher looked disappointed "They've got dads, except for Applebloom who's brother is like a dad to her, and I don't. What happened to him? Did he not love me and mom enough?" Cloud Basher began to shed some tears from thinking his sad thoughts. "Hey Bash, you ok?" Sweetie Belle asked. "Y-Yeah it's just... It's just..." Cloud Basher began "I gotta go!" He ended, flying off as fast as he could, trying to stop his crying so he could see where he was flying. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cloud Basher finally made it home, and when he opened the door, he flew straight to his room and locked himself inside, crying softly into his pillow. Bash heard a knock at the door, and then heard his mother's soothing voice "Bash, are you ok baby, what's wrong?" Bash went to his door and unlocked it, and went back to his pillow to finish his crying. Rainbow Dash entered her son's room, and saw what was happening. Dash walked over to her son's bed and sat next to her son, and said "You wanna talk about it Bash?"  Thankfully, for Dash, her son lifted his head. Bash sniffled a bit and said "Hey mom.... Who's my dad?" This made Rainbow's heart sink "Oh buck! Why, of all questions, did he ask that?" Dash thought, then looked at her son and said "Well.... your father is a stallion, of course, and um........" She said, losing words "Well, you look like him, a lot. You have his red coat, and his blonde mane and tail, even though it's not exactly like his, you still have his mane and tail color." She said, as she hugged her son, who returned the hug and began to cry onto his mother's chest. "Come on, let's go eat dinner." The two ate their dinner, which Dash made herself, and it was Bash's favorite meal. Dash made them rose bud salads with some water. "So, how was your first day of school sweetie?" Dash asked her son, who was now happier than earlier. "It was good at first, then this one filly made fun of me cause of my blankflank, and the fact that I stayed inside for 8 years, and she even asked if you were stupid or over protective!" Bash said, and went on explaining the rest of his day to his mother. "Wow, sounds like you had a hoofful today. Come on, let's watch some T.V." Dash said, as she left the dining room table and went onto the couch and turned on her and her son's favorite show. Their favorite show was about ponies going across an obstacle course and somehow end up falling, with the two hosts poking fun and making jokes here and their. As the show came to the end, Bash had some more questions for his mom. "Hey mom, will I ever see dad again, and what's his name?" Bash asked, looking at his mother as she held her son in her arms whilst he was laying on top of her while the two were on the couch. "Well, you'll probably see him, and not know it's him, but I can't tell you his name." Dash began "It sickens me to even say it, so I never do, nor do I really think about it without thinking of how much of an ass he was." Dash said. Her son acted surprised to be funny "My dad's a donkey?" Bash said as he laughed a little. Bash had gotten tired after a while, and went to his room to go to bed. Before Dash turned the light in the room off, she said "Good night kiddo. Have good dreams tonight." After that, she turned the lights off and went to her room to work on some paper work from her job she had gotten, something about firing a grey Pegasus mare with crossed yellow eyes. After his mom left the room, Bash got out another notebook of his, and began to write in this one. "So, apparently I look like my dad. Now I just gotta find a stallion with a blonde mane and tail, and a red coat. Hopefully I'll even find out his name, but I really want to know something more. Why did he leave me and mom?" After he was done writing, Bash put the notebook under his pillow, and his pencil in his bedside dresser drawer, and went to bed. //-------------------------------------------------------// A quick visit to Dad. //-------------------------------------------------------// A quick visit to Dad. The next day came, and started off as another day for Dash. But today she had many things to do on her list. First, she would wake up her son, then make him and herself some breakfast, and then take him to school, and then... She'd go see somepony she was going to talk to, about a very serious case. Dash went to her son's room, and woke him up, and then made him and her breakfast, and everything else she planned which each went according to plan! She got ready for her day today, as did Bash, and they flew down to the schoolhouse on the ground below. When the two arrived at the schoolhouse, Dash asked her son "Will you try to ignore the fillies that were jerks to you today Bashy?" as she hugged her son. "Yes ma'am. But please don't call me 'Bashy' in public mom, it's embarrassing!" Bash said, blushing from the embarrassing nickname his mom usually called him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When the school bell rang, Bash ran inside to get ready for class. Seeing him run off, Dash decided to see the stallion, who she thought was an ass! Dash took off, and went for a farm. She thought to herself "He better not cause Bash any harm!" She jolted off, and was close to her destination. But who woulda thought(Since Dash didn't  know), her ex was with The Spanish Inquisition! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When Dash had landed, she thought to herself "Where is he? He's gotta be here somewhere!" But her thoughts were interrupted by Applejack, who said to her friend "Why Rainbow Dash, what're you doin' here?" "Oh, hey AJ." Dash began, trying to look innocent to her honest friend "I'm looking for Big Mac, you seen him?" "Yeah, he's out in the fields, buckin' apple trees." Applejack said "Why don't y'all come back lat'r so y'all two can talk?" Dash nodded her head yes, and flew back home for a quick moment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Hey Cheerilee, it's Rainbow Dash." Dash said to the phone, talking to the school teacher "I need you to tell y son that he's going to have to head home with a friend, and that I'll pick him up later. K?" "Ok Rainbow Dash, I'll let him know right away!" Cheerilee said to Dash, then hung up the phone. Dash had grinned a bit, cause her new plan was going perfect! Dash left her house right after the teacher hung the phone up, and went back to the apple farm.... This time without anypony finding out she arrived. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dash arrived at the farm house, and went for her ex's bedroom, and hid in the closet.... A couple hours went by, and Dash was asleep, until she heard a close of the bedroom door. She opened the closet door, and said "Hey there Macintosh. How are ya?" looking mad at her ex(why not?) Big Mac was startled from the sudden appearance of his ex-marefriend "R-Rainbow Dash! What're you doin' here? You gotta go, if ya don't, mah wife'll kill th' both of us!" "Look, I'm here because-.... You're wife?" Dash asked, then shook her head to remember why she came "I'm here cause I'm going to tell you this. Our son started school, and he made friends with your little sister, and if you don't tell him the truth soon, it'll hurt him, a lot! Wait... Bash!" Rainbow said, as she flew down stairs to leave he farm house, and when she reached the living room, she saw her son and Applebloom and her friends doing their homework. "Hey mom! What's up?" Bash asked. "Oh, nothing Bashy, just here to pick ya up!" Dash said, as she felt a bit of self pain for lying to her son. "Come on, let's go." Dash said. Bash got his things together, and was heading out the door with his mother, and as they were heading out, Big Mac came downstairs and saw Dash take their son home. Before she left, Dash stuck her head back into the front door window and said to Big Mac "Remember, if you don't tell him, and he gets hurt, I'm going to hurt you! THAT'S a promise."  then flew to her son and flew home. Big Mac gulped "What'll my wife think if she found out I have a son that I refused to know about?" Then, Big Mac's wife came out from the kitchen and said "Hey Big Mac, what was that all about?" in a cheerful tone. Big Mac turned to the love of his life, and said to her "Nothin' Cloud Chaser, just an old friend of mine visitin' is all." as he hugged his wife. As the couple went upstairs, Sweetie Belle turned to her friends and said "Hey guys, you think Big Macintosh and Bash have something that they're hiding?" "What could they be hiding?" Scootaloo asked. "Well, whatever it is," Applebloom began "Big Mac's gonna have to tell Bash something apparently..." Applebloom said, then thought of an idea "Girls, Ah got an idea for what are cutie marks could be! Cutie Mark Crusader couples therapist!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When Bash and Dash got home, Bash went straight for his room to go to bed. When Bash got into bed, he got out his notebook he wrote in last night, and the pencil he'd use for it, and wrote down "Well, didn't find dad today from the ponies I saw when me and my friends were walking back to 'bloom's place that I looked like. Maybe Mom lived somewhere else when she met Dad, and moved here when he left her? I don't know, I just hope that I can find him one day, then have him answer all my questions I've got for him. [EDITED] Three weeks passed from that night, when Dash picked up her son and left for her house in the sky, and Big Mac had been getting more worried about what he'd tell his wife, more importantly his sisters and grandmother! Big Mac had been losing sleep, which then effected his work habits and other chores. He even at one point fell asleep while fixing the rain gutters and had the loose gutters fall on top of him after he fell off of the ladder! Big Mac finally decided it was time for the truth to be heard. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The school day had ended, and the CMC had left for the clubhouse out in the apple fields. When they arrived inside the clubhouse, they began to discuss what their special talent could be. "Maybe mine's carpentry!" Scootaloo said. "Hmm," Bash began "I don't know, but I think I know mine! I'm probably good at stopping and starting tornadoes!" Bash said, puffing out his chest. "Hmm.... Only one way t' find out!" Applebloom said. Th group went out side of the tree house, and Bash started to fly around in circles, creating a small twister, which began to grow even more and more. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Inside the farm house, Big Mac had gathered Applejack, Cloud Chaser, Granny Smith, and Rainbow Dash. "OK y'all, ther's somethin' Ah need to tell ya." Big Mac began "I ha- Hey, where's Applebloom?" Big Mac asked. After that, the CMC had ran inside the farm house with Bash following with them. "Applejack! There's a twister outside" Applebloom warned her sister, as she pointed out a window. "What in th' hay! How did it come here?" Applejack asked. Bash had rubbed his hoof behind his head, and said "It came because I started it, and made it grow bigger cause I thought that I'd get my cutie mark in starting and stopping tornadoes....." Rainbow Dash's jaw dropped at what she heard "WHAT?! Bash, why would you think that?" Bash ad cringed at his mother's question "I don't know ma'am, I thought I'd be able to control it!" "Look, we all need t' get in th' cellar, now!" Big Mac said, as he opened the basement door, and signaled the others to enter the room. Everypony sat still, and waited for the tornado above them to go away. Applejack gave a head count, only to find that Bash wasn't inside the cellar with them. "Bash!" Dash shouted, as she ran up stairs. Dash went outside the farm house to find her son, and saw a red circle flying around the tornado. Bash was circling the tornado counter-clockwise to slow it down and stop the rushing winds, and was flying as fast as he could, and had nearly closed his eyes to stop the wind from getting in them. "Come on Basher, you can do this!" He said to himself, as he flew even faster around the tornado. Eventually, he felt the winds start to slow down, and when he tried to escape the defeated tornado, he hadn't seen where he was flying and didn't slow down, and ran into several apple trees and a flew into the barn wall, causing wooden planks to follow him into the barn and lay on top of him on the barn floor. Dash saw everything that happened and screamed "BASHY, NOOOOOO!" as she flew to her son inside the barn, freeing him of the rubble, and seeing her son knocked out "Come on baby, wake up! Please wake up, please listen to mommy!" She said, as she hugged her son. Applejack ran into the barn, and noticed the unconscious colt and sobbing mother "Dash, we need t' get him t' th' hospital, he's gonna need the medical attention!" Dash nodded her head, and flew her son to the hospital, with the Apple family following her, as well as Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the hospital, Bash had been sent into an emergency room, with Dash going inside with him, to make sure her son was OK. Some time had passed, and the doctor came back and said "He's going to be alright ma'am. He's only suffered some major bruises from what you told us, he's lucky to have survived that much. Even for a colt of his age!" The doctor said laughing, then noticed Dash's angry facial expression towards the doctor's remark. "So, can my friends come in and see him?" Dash asked. "Of course, just hope that he'll wake soon Ms. Dash, have a good day." The doctor said, as he left the room to tell the party outside that they could enter. After the doctor had left, a minute or two later everypony came inside. "Is he going to be alright?" Sweetie asked, concerned for the unconscious colt. "Yeah, he's just gonna be out cold for another minute or two." Dash assured Sweetie Belle, hoping she was right. Ten minutes had passed, and Bash had begun to wake up, then take note of the ponies that surrounded his bed. "M-Mom... is that you?" Bash weakly asked. "Yes baby, it's me, don't worry Mommy's here!" Dash said, as she lightly hugged her son. When she let go, Sweetie Belle jumped onto Bash's bed and said "Hey, that was a brave thing you did there. But why did you start the tornado anyways?" Bash sighed at what he heard, and replied. "I wanted to impress you Sweetie Belle, cause I might've grown some feelings for you!" He said quickly "And I wanted to prove that I could stop a tornado and then stop one, WHICH I DID!" He then said, raising a hoof in the air, then took note of the red stallion in the room. Bash's jaw dropped, and he was silent for a minute then said "D-Dad, is that you?" Big Mac had stopped looking at the colt and said "OK, now's the time t' tell y'all what I wanted to." To Everypony's surprise. "8 years ago, me and Dash here dated fer a while. She was in college, and I wasn't cause I was workin' on the family farm. One night, me and Dash went t' this party she was invited to. Dash... well got drunk and persuaded me to sleep with her in the closet... with a condom on. When she found out she was pregnant, she told me that the condom must've broke..... I left her cause I didn't want to face the truth of why I lied, and being a father." Big Mac said, then turned to Dash "Rainbow, I never wore a condom that night." Then turned to his wife "Honey, this colt is my son, and he has been for 8 years, even though I only knew him for 3 weeks." Big Mac explained, then got slapped by his wife, his ex-marefriend, then his sister. "Why did you not tell me about him, in those three weeks you knew about him?!" Cloud Chaser said, as she began pounding on Big Mac's shoulder with her hooves and cried softly. "Ah'm sorry honey, Ah really am. But Ah thought things'd be a lot worse if you found out right away!" Big Mac said, then was kicked in his nether regions by his wife. "That's for lying to me for keeping that secret for three weeks you ass!" Cloud Chaser said, as she went to sit down at one of the chairs in the room. "So, mom..." Bash said, then got out of bed "He's my dad?" Dash smiled at her quickly recovered son and said "Yes," then pointed at Bash and said "And that's your cutie mark!" She said, looking at the tornado on her son's flank. "No way! It is my special talent after all!" Bash said. Sweetie Belle got off the bed, then hugged Bash, and when she broke the hug, she kissed him full on the lips. When she broke the kiss she said "I love you Cloud Basher, will you go out with me." She asked the colt, who began to blush, even if it was barely visible on his red skin. He stood silent for a minute, and looked into Sweetie's eyes and said, in a loving way that you'd expect a surprised colt to say "Sure...."
