"So, Nightmare, have you caught any trespassers yet?" Queen Chrysalis's raspy voice echoed through the halls of the shattered remains of the castle. Nightmare Moon's long black legs stop moving, and she turned her head to face the teal haired Alicorn. Queen Chrysalis's bug wings twitched as Nightmare's narrow ice-blue eyes burned into her soul.
"Not yet, Chrysalis, not yet. But if I find those little Elements of Harmony, or whatever they call themselves, they will perish. Except for my little minion, Fluttershy. And of course, your changelings," the beautiful glossy black princess explained. Queen Chrysalis smiled a fang-filled mouthful at the sound of her "changelings".
Suddenly, a tall dark gray pony busted into the room. Her indigo mane was ruffled, and her emerald green eyes were bewildered. Nightmare Moon gasped as her "minion", formerly Fluttershy, burst into the Grand Hall. "Tornado Gray? What're you doing back so early? I thought I sent you out to scout the borders!" Nightmare growled. Chrysalis started to flap her bug wings and buzzed forward, alighting next to Tornado. "Yes, deary, why are you back? I thought you were also teaching my changeling apprentices," she hissed into Tornado's ear. The tired mare shook her head.
"I ran into King Sombra. He's trying to...take over...the Crystal Empire," she panted. Nightmare Moon snarled and outspread her feathery wings. "That fool!" She turned her gaze directly at Queen Chrysalis. "You, find Discord now and go with him to find Sombra. Tornado, I'm sending you with Chrysalis and Discord to tell them where Sombra is. When you find, bring him here if you can. If not, then I will get him myself," she spat, sounding like a war general.
Queen Chrysalis and Tornado Gray exchanged glances. "But, Nightmare, what if he kills us?" Chrysalis squeaked, barely audible. Nightmare Moon reared up on her hind legs and flapped her wings angrily. "Are you saying that you're scared of a little stallion? Chrysalis, Sombra is a weak fool. He may seem strong, but you can take him down, especially with the help of Discord. Now go!" she demanded, and the two ponies before her scampered off.
Then Nightmare landed back on all four legs. She smirked. "Alright, now I can find those Elements of Stupidity. Every one of them...and even Tornado Gray isn't safe," she cackled, her terrifying voice ricocheted off the walls of the castle Grand Hall.
