They Were Helping Me

A story about NGI-0016, written by NGI-0016 and A

Saffron was just another pegasus filly, living the small life with her family in a cabin near the Everfree Forest. Saffron was in the field playing with her stuffed animals, while her parents were out on a day trip. She enjoyed being alone, it allowed her to have fun in her own special way.

Before long the sun was setting. Saffron lay her head down in the field and watched the sun fade into the horizon. She fell asleep just before the stars lit up the sky.

She woke up with her hooves and wings tied down in a white room. The lights above her made her squint, but over time she got used to the brightness. Surrounding her were tables with silver objects on them. One thing that caught Saffron’s eye was a golden block with several holes in it and an unusual shape that resembled an N.

"Is- is anypony here?" Saffron called.

Several stallions came from behind her head and looked down at her. All of them were dressed in white coats with the same N on them. They whispered to each other, Saffron could not make out what they were saying.

"What- is- going on?!" Saffron asked the stallions.

"Do not be afraid," one of the stallions said, “We are helping you."

Saffron suddenly felt a sharp slash in her stomach, then another. She screamed in pain.

The same stallion repeated itself. “We are helping you..."

Saffron’s insides were pulled out and flashed right before her eyes, later being replaced by the silver objects she had seen on the table. She was losing it- she could not stay awake much longer... just before she closed her eyes she saw the gold block being lowered towards her...

Saffron woke up in the same spot, but now sirens were sounding and the white room had turned a grey colour that flashed red every two seconds. She could still feel the pain. She stretched and struggled, and soon the ropes binding her to the chair were broken. She jumped down and was about to look around, when she noticed that her right hoof was silver. Whenever she walked it would make a harsh, loud CLANK on the ground. She reacted by madly screaming.

The sirens were overlapped by another siren, one that sounded more like wailing than beeping. Saffron could hear groaning from behind her. She turned around and saw the unlit silhouette of a pony. It had two blood red pupils that glowed in the darkness. It opened it’s mouth and a long pointy tounge flopped out onto the ground.

Saffron started to run. Whoever the pony was, it didn’t look or sound friendly. She ran and ran, down all of the long corridors and through other rooms, being chased by waves of black ponies.

Before long she came to the main entrance of the large complex. She rattled at the doors but they didn’t budge.

The silhouettes were getting closer- closer- closer-

Saffron remembered her metal hoof. She threw it at the door and it was knocked off it’s hinges. She raced out of the building just in time. The silhouettes didn’t follow.

Flapping her wings, she lifted herself off the ground and looked at the front of the building. The same N was painted above the door, and under it read “Neuegen Industries".

Saffron, once a small playful pegasus, was suddenly mature and enraged. “Neuegen Industries…" she muttered under her breath before flying into the night, "…I will get my revenge. One day. One day."
