                                                             Chapter Five: Guardian Angel

                                                                                (Vicious)

Vicious slowly opened her eyes, half of her face she could feel the coolness from the floor of Pinkimena's bakery. She looked over to see Pinkimena against the wall, asleep from the previous actions before. She cleared her mind as she got up and made her way towards Pinkimena.

She watched her stomach rise and fall gently. She was still alive-- but seriously unconcious. Her sight darted back and forth as she looked at the other side of the small room, seeing a dead guard in a small flood of blood.

Her mind started to regain it's memory- she remembered she was flying when all of a sudden- a strong emotion pulled her in, and voices ringing in her head. She could hear Pinkimena's thoughts, and somehow knew that she was in trouble. She remembers speaking to her with her mind, and hearing her inner-consious go blank. And she could tell- each thought and feeling had some kind of aurora-( colors ) that would help her recognize who or what was going on/doing.

And when she saw Pinkimena's aqua color fade into a black- she somehow automatically knew she was in trouble. She knew not instead something was wrong- but that she was wounded.

Pinkimena kept telling her that everything was fine- when her very life was at steak. And seeing the guard now, she could tell that she had switched to her personal alternative mode, where she could not take control of her anger.

She swore under her breath as she looked back at Pinkimena. She then checked her pulse as she started to see her breathing pace take a slow round. She then realized that she was slowly losing her. She moved quickly into the kitchen where she had seen a medicine cabinet somewhere a while back. She started rapidly choosing the doors and opening them. That's when she finally found it- and started picking up bottles rapidly and reading the descriptions that were on the side of the small containers.

She finally found one- it would allow her to open her lungs and force her heart to beat, inhailing and exhailing air repetedly. She bolted back into the livingroom, where Pinkimena laid on the ground. She wanted to pour the hole thing into her mouth, but there was very little left, and the price tag was still on it- revealing that it was over a hundred bits. This medicine must be rare- extremely. And she couldn't take the chance of any of it spilling- she needed every last drop of this antidote to help her.

And that's when she had the one idea that could save her life. She unscrewed the lid and took the remaining medicine in her own mouth and pressed her lips against Pinkimena, opening her mouth and carrying it into the back of her trought.

She didn't feel her pulse rise, so she grabbed her head, and sat her up while she kissed her deeper, pushing the liquid into her mouth.

After a little bit, she felt a faint breath against her face until it grew deeper in seconds, and then suddenly was broken from the connection. Pinkimena scooted backwards, hitting her head against the wall and a soft thump filled the room with her startled gasps.

"Ow.. Vicious? Vicious!"

Pinkimena looked at her with a startled expression. Then she watched as Pinkimena's eyes grew widder and widder as her mind came to recognization to what just happened.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!"

"Nothing, just saving your life is all."

"What? Do you think that I'm sleeping beauty?! A magical-"

"Look. You wern't breathing, and there was no other way for me to-"

"You know what? Get out of my house."

"Let me explain. I-"

"No! You don't get a chance to! First, you ignored me when I told you that everything was fine, and to 'stay put'. And what do you do? Come crashing into my window- that is one of the lines that could grant me risk of losing my home and job. You are not to stay here a moment more. Now leave."

Vicious' thoughts were an interruption to the words coming out of Pinkimena's mouth. She saw her lips moving, but no sound came out. She just watched her exclaim angrily and silently as she heard a soft voice- her sister's voice to be exact- echo the words in her mind:

"Mother is furious! If you like that mare, do not leave her. Mom will take her away from you faster than you think. Whatever you do,

             protect her."

Vicious honestly did like this mare- and would die to let anything happen to her. Which means that no matter how much she yells at me, abuses me, tells me to leave, no matter what.

I gotta be there for her.

She looked down at Pinkimena again, seeing she had stopped yelling at her, but instead gave her an evil die-and-go-to-hell look, and soon zoned back into reality.

"I'm not going."

"W-what?!"

"I'm not leaving. You just got attacked by a huge stallion out of nowhere, and you expect me to leave you alone. That is not going to happen. I'm staying here with you for the night. So if anything happens- I'll be there, and ready this time."

Pinkimena just looked up at her, a blank expression on her face as she turned around slowly, and walked into the kitchen, grabbing onto the counter.

"I can fend for myself. I don't need-"

"You almost died tonight. I'm. Not. Leaving."

Pinkimena threw a small brick looking thing that had knives sticking out of it, and it came flying.

Towards Vicious.

She carried herself into the air with her massive wings, dodging the knives. "What are you doing?"

She asked, still hovering in the air.

"Get out, NOW!!"

"Pinkimena, please stop. Just stop."

"No, just because we went out once, doesn't mean we're a couple. I. Don't. Need. Your. Help!!! Go away, before I find a way to end you!"

"All I want to do is protect you. Can you give me one chance? Please? I want to make sure you're safe. And there's no other pony that can do that better than me. Let me be an angel. Your angel."

Pinkimena froze. That had somehow touched her heart- her cold, ice pumping heart that had never been warmed by another's words. And what much is she going to do about it? She can't stop her- she's way stronger than she is, and even Vicious knew that. And well... death is out of the equation. Vicious could feel the emotion coming off of her like waves- hitting her and her supernatural senses. Vicious came back on the ground, moving toward Pinkimena. She streched out her extended limbs, holding Pinkimena firmly against herself- feeling her reasuring heartbeat. She started to hum a tune, and she realized later that she was singing to Pinkimena.

"When life leaves you high and dry, I'll be at your door tonight,

if you need help,

if you need help.

I'll shut down the city lights, I'll lie, cheat, I'll beg and bribe,

to make you well,

to make you well.

When enemies are at your door, I'll carry you away for more,

if you need help,

if you need help.

Your hope dangling by a string, I'll share in your suffering

to make you well,

to make you well."

Vicious stopped singing, feeling a warm and wet liquid soak her chest. Looking down, she then realized that it was Pinkimena, balling her eyes out. She started to sob loudly. Vicious just sat there. She knew that Pinkimena was going through that stage where everything is emotion to her now. Happens to every single psychopathy in the world. They finally awake to reality- and they become new. Some of those emotions even hurt.

But I'm here to make sure that it doesn't happen to her.

I am her guardian angel.

                                                    (Pinkimena)

Pinkimena pressed her face tighter against Vicious' chest- she might be hurting her, but she'll get over it. Why were all these feelings getting to her? Eating her away like termites are to wood.

There are so many reasons that she would be mad... but then, Vicious turns it around to make it something more...

She made their first kiss one to remember- literally.

Like... a matter of life or death choice.

And I can see that she used all of my medicine.- most expensive one I can find. And she used the very last of it to save my life. I know she can hear me now- and even miles away she can hear my thoughts. No matter what happens, she'll always know where I'm at, and what I'm doing. It's kinda scary and stalkish- but in a good way. It makes me feel...

Safe.

"Oh Vicious... you're so annoying. But you do it for me."

"I know."

Pinkimena smiled. Communication through this was magical. I guess she really can always be there for me. Through thick and thin. Literally.

I don't know why- but I talk and talk about this mare nonstop, and think about her all the time.

I think...

Wait. This can't be happening- I can't like her! She's... She's not... I just can't! Just because you go on a date, and you think about them, and have your life saved by somepony doesn't mean you... love them.

Right?

"Do you feel better?" Asked Vicious, using her thoughtful mind transportating message to ask her question.

"I suppose. I don't really know anymore. You've corrupted me." She thought, smiling evily as she heard Vicious' thoughts come knocking on her (mind's) door again.

"You do know I like you, right?"

Pinkimena's smile fadded into a blush as she practically turned into a tomato in the face- talk about fancy, this might be over limit. And she wrapped her ideas up into her final conclusion. She thought it was just a flurt before- but things have gotten serious- and quick. And it all made sense to her- the confessions, abuse, the sacrifice- all for me.

For me. Of all ponies, it was me. It's like crusification or something. She really does care for me. And there is no longer any doubt of that. Anywhere.

"Yes." She thought. It sure was out there, and crystal clear instead of a naucious blur. She doesn't like me.

This mare, is seriously in love with me.

After about an hour later, they finally broke apart. Pinkimena was close to falling asleep in her grasp, her warm beating heart and love made her comfortable and warm.

But Vicious thought it would be better off her to sleep in a bed. She was a little tense- not to mention that unfortunately I almost lost my life tonight. I don't think that she'll leave me alon for the next week.

But that... Is fine by me.

We both cleaned up the mess in the livingroom, all the glass and the floor that was flooded in blood. While I started mopping up, I found my cupcake that I hadn't even got a chance to take a bite off of. As I bent over to get it, I felt an immediate pain in my right asscheak as Vicious slapped it hard. I  turned around, yelping like a dog.

Then things became very... bloody. We started pouring buckets of blood on each others head, and made blood angels. If I ever had anypony like this when I needed her- I'd have a happy life.

After that, we both got rinsed off. I took a shower as Vicious called the ponies to come and fix our window tomorrow. I sort of ease-dropped as I stepped out of the shower, my mane damp, and it smelled like cake and all deserts that are sweet.

Vicious was twirling the coard to her house phone in her hoof, looking down at the ground as she was talking into the phone.

It was awfully loud, she heard every word through the other line, listening to their conversation.

"Yeah.. uh, Surgar Cube Corner is where."

"Okay. What does the house look like?"

"It's a bakery. The only bakery on the block."

"Okay.. Do you want us to fix this tomorrow?"

"Preferably."

"Alrightly, and do you have any plans tomorrow? We can fix your window while your away."

Vicious hesitated for a second, then she spoke into the phone. "Yeah, we're gonna be out for a little bit- but I'd rather you guys come at dark."

"Alright. We'll stop by tomorrow about... Does eight- thirty sound good?"

"Yeah. We should be back by then."

"Okay. See you then."

"Thanks, bye."

Vicious put the pone back on the hook, a loud *click* echoed through the room. Pinkimena leaned against the wall to the hallway, folding her hooves.

"So, where are you taking us tomorrow?"

Vicious jumped, startled by the mare. "Oh! Uh.. somewhere special. I-I didn't know you we're there. It was going to be a surprise."

"Or were you going to drug me again?" She said, a smile on her face.

"Nah! It's only fun the first round." Said Vicious, leaning against the wall next to the phone. She then folded her hooves behind her head.

Pinkimena smiled as she walked past her, reaching a cabinet that was in the livingroom above a television. She pulled out a purple sheet, and spread it on the sofa neatly.

"Here. I know you're not going to go anywhere for a while, so you can crash on the couch."

Vicious raised a brow at the pink mare. "Why can't I sleep with you?" She said, a smile on her face. She sounded like a filly.

"Because I don't trust you."

"Yet..." Said Vicious, holding out a hoof at Pinkimena to escort her to her room. "May I at least take you to your bedroom, my lady?"

Pinkimena put her hoof gently ontop of Vicious', allowing her to guide her through the hall to her room at the end of the hallway.

"You may." She said, walking with Vicious into the dark dorm.

"You know, that wasn't a smart move to kill that guard. Now there going to be swarming Surgar Cube Corner. I could get caught."

"I wouldn't let that happen. I'd take you far away from here."

"I can't leave- my friends live here. I could never leave them."

Vicious looked at Pinkimena curiously. "Mena, you have friends? I mean- other than me?"

"Yes. Five others to be exact. There's Fluttershy, Rarity, Twilight, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash. They're all my dearest friends."

"Cool beans." She said, smiling.

"What was that song you sang earlier by the way? I'm curious."

"Gone, gone, gone by Phillip Phillips. It's only my favorite song ever. I heard it on the radio."

"Oh. Well, you sang it beautifully. You have a voice, Vicious."

Even in the pitch- black hallway, I could tell that she was blushing.

But then she mumbled something and swooped Pinkimena up, carrying her like a married couple after a wedding. She then opened the door to her bedroom and flicked on the lights.

She set her down, and was leaning against the doorframe. "Nice bed." She said, watching as Pinkimena threw herself onto the bed. She groaned.

Vicious made her way over there, sitting on the bed, and tapping the sheets. "This bed looks really comfy. I hope you sleep well."

She then leaned in and kissed the side of Pinkimena's face, and then stood by the lightswitch. She flicked it off, and then shut the door to the point of a crack as she whispered soft, kind words.

"Good night, Mena."
