Canterlot was as peaceful and posh as always, there were ponies going about their daily mundane business but some of their business is more important. The castle is usually a pretty boring place with no really important business but in a highly secured room under the castle two pegasi are discussing very important business.

“This isn’t something anything can deal with. Even us,” the mare said worriedly.

“Maybe if the others were still alive,” the stallion countered obviously annoyed.

“There isn’t anything we could have done then and nothing we can do now,” she shuddered at the memory of their fallen comrades.

“Maybe your right but if we don’t do anything we could…no we will lose everything,” he stated matter-of-factly.

“I know but we both know that even our full powers combined wouldn’t fix this problem,” she retorted.

The two pegasi flinched when the door opened flooding the room with light. The mare had a deep red mane, sky blue coat, and magenta eyes. The stallion had a jet black coat, emerald green eyes, and a black cloak covering his mane and tail. The two pegasi looked to the open door to see an alicorn with a bluish-purple and light purple mane, a deep purple coat, and blue eyes.

“Princess Luna,” the two pegasi said as the Princess bowed to the two.

“Have you made any progress on solving the problem yet?” she asked as she arose from her bow.

“Maybe…” the stallion said trailing off. He was obviously thinking if his plan could work.

“Care to inform us of your new plan?” the mare asked. He started looking around like he didn’t mean to say that.

“Yes, we would like to know what you’re thinking,” Luna added.

“Well-” he dropped his head and the other pegasus caught on.

“Absolutely not! That would only make this problem worse,” she said confusing Luna.

“If you have another option I’d love to hear it,” he said annoyed and slightly angry.

“There has to be another way! SHE CAN’T BE TRUSTED!” her voice raising with every word.

“She is the only one with the power to help. Not to mention she has better control over everything than any creature and if this problem gets any worse nothing will survive,” he countered.

Tired of not understanding their conversation Luna finally spoke up, “What is your suggestion?”

“This idiot” –she pointed to the stallion- “intends to release Nightmare and use her powers to fix this problem.”

“Nightmare, I was Nightmare remember?” Luna said earning a chuckle from the others.

“You were possessed by a strand of her hair,” she corrected.

“Nightmare is easily the strongest creature in existence and has even destroyed a few universes,” he continued.

“She is also the reason our numbers are dwindling,” she added sadly as he looked down in shame.

“How many of you are left?” Luna asked with concern.

“There are only five of us left, Princess,” she answered.

“Actually Raiyu, Reiyu, and Rieyu fell trying to solve this problem,” he corrected.

“They were our three strongest! If they couldn’t solve this then how can we?” she half yelled and half asked.

“Exactly why I even considered Nightmare as an option, she has killed thousands of us already,” he retorted.

‘I finally got my saddlebag and I guess next thing I should do is get something to give me an edge on the changelings,’ I thought as I noticed a blacksmith shop. I trotted into a few stores and walked up to a few stands and ordered what I needed before going back to his camp to put his edge together. After I was done with all the preparations I transferred my things from my backpack to my new saddlebag. I liked it; it was a nice deep shade of blue mixed perfectly with a lighter shade of purple.

As I sat on a nearby hill, and watched the sunset for what might be the last time, I noticed something flying not too far away. It was a phoenix and it was obviously tamed so I grabbed it in my magic and brought it to me. I didn’t want to believe it but with what had transpired in the few days I had been here everypony did almost exactly what they did in the show but with no singing.

I grabbed a small canister that was leftover from my preparations and wrote a quick note to attach to the phoenix. I tied the canister containing the note to the phoenix and released it from my magical grip hoping that I was right just this once. If I was right then the phoenix will go to Princess Celestia and she will prepare for the upcoming invasion. I pushed my worries to the back of my mind and lay down to get some sleep.

I was in the middle of Canterlot without a disquse and I watched as Celestia as defeated by Chrysalis but this time Luna was there. It took me a minute to realize that Luna wasn’t part of my dream but actually in my dream. I trotted up to the surprised Princess to try and talk to her about this dreadful battle.

“This battle is going to happen soon and maybe if you’re here this time it will end quicker,” I said hopeful.

“How do you know? Are you the one planning this?” she asked annoyed and a bit angry.

“The Elements of Harmony couldn’t do anything in time,” I said ignoring her questions.

“We cannot help in the near future because we have a much bigger problem to deal with,” she said truthfully.

“A bigger problem?!” I almost yelled in disbelief.

“Indeed but the way you talk about this event you know how it’s going to end?” she asked curiously.

“Yes and it doesn’t end well for a lot of ponies and changelings,” I lied a bit to get her to take this attack more seriously but everything starts falling away and our conversation is cut short.
