//-------------------------------------------------------// The second shadow -by Mr Marshmallow- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// It LIVES! //-------------------------------------------------------// Hello, Corvo... After good ending. Need to know the plot of the Knife of Dunwall + Brigmore Witches "All hail Empress Emily Kaldwin!" "Hooray!" Corvo felt on top of the world, the Loyalists had been disbanded, his name was cleared and Emily was now finally, officially, on the throne. She gave him a nervous look that silently told him I don't know if I can do this.. He squeezed her shoulder comfortingly and replied Of course you can.. She smiled, that little excited smile that warmed Corvo's heart. Several hours of festivities later Corvo and Emily retired to their respective rooms. "Goodnight Corvo" "Goodnight Emily" With a hug they walked into their rooms connected by a door, should Emily need Corvo in the night. He strode into his chambers, flicked out the light and flopped into bed slowly closing his eyes. Tomorrow was going to be a busy day... "Hello, Corvo..." The Royal Protector's eyes snapped open, not seeing the dark ceiling of his room but instead a familiar grey fog lit by an unknown source. He sat up seeing a seemingly endless pit all around filled with said grey fog, but this was unlike the other times he'd been to the void, there was no floating debris around him, just a staircase that appeared to be made of solid whale bone with warped screaming faces of various creatures carved into them. It was not a great distance to the top so Corvo began the ascent warily whispering "Shit..." under his breath, wondering what in the Isles he'd gotten himself into now. It was over, what could he possibly want? As he approached the top he saw everyone's favourite supernatural god like being, the Outsider, who had observed us humans since we were banging rocks together. He also also noticed two material items. The largest of the two, a large tree with bits of debris around it. It appeared to be growing out of solid concrete with grass on top of it, but he knew, in the void, anything is possible. He noticed something strange about it... The ground around it... It didn't look like the stuff normally In the void... The ground around it seemed to have been...ripped... Somehow as if it had been somewhere else  and had been moved here against its metaphorical will... The second, a wooden door near identical to the countless ones he'd seen throughout the world, but the door appeared... Brighter somehow... Too unreal to true, too solid to be fake... What is it..?! "So, you have answered my summons. Well... it's not like you had much of a choice did you?" "Damn right I didn't!" Three months ago he would never have dared back talked the black eyed bastard but right now Corvo was pissed. He just wanted to enjoy his success and the simple joys that come from being alive. "I don't care what you summonded me here for. I just want to stay in Dunwall and guard Emily till the day I day, can't you just leave me be? No. Of course you can't! I don't care what little jaunt you want to send me on this time, I'm going home!" Corvo took a deep breath, and turned around sharply and headed back down the way he'd come. "Even if the fate of a world depended on it?" Corvo stumbled, his step faltering as the Outsider fired his ace in the hole. The man who had sold his soul to the devil walked calmly back up the stairs no emotion painted on his face. Without waiting for his response he Outsider started talking. "I'm sure your aware of Daud, another who bore my mark just as you do." For the barest fraction of a second Corvo's eyes darted to the fingerless glove he always wore on his left hand and the Outsiders mouth curled upwards. "He was embarked on a quest just as you were, at the exactly same time as you were as fate would have it. And as you saved Emily Kaldwin's life, he saved her soul." Corvo's eyes widened in momentary fear, was Emily in danger!?! He then realised the Outsiders choice of words, he said saved. She was safe. He breathed out a breath he didn't even know he was holding and then asked the Outsider to clarify. "There was yet another who bore my mark, a powerful witch named Deliah, who's powers were somewhat...'unique' shall we say. She created a spell that could be used to swap bodies with an individual as long she had a painting of them, for someone as famous as Emily, a picture is not hard to come by. Daud interupted the ritual and replaced the painting of Emily with a picture of this tree." At this point the immortal gestured to the large tree beside them, Corvo now understood the purpose of the tree, he felt it was odd the Outsider would want greenery around him, seeing as he had casuall disregard for most life. "Unfortunately it was not over, just as she was sucked into the painting Deliah made a last second change to the painting, hoping to prevent her inmprisonment as a lump of wood. It partially worked, it prevented her from being imprisoned in this tree, but made the painting look exactly like another tree... In another dimension." Corvo had bore witness to many strange but this, the Outsider telling him this with a completely straight face was right up there in the top 10. "So... She's trapped in a tree in another dimension?" The bodyguard questioned. "She was. The tree she was in however destroyed immediatly after the spell was complete,by a creature known as an Ursa Minor , before the seal was completely set. The procedure would have killed almost any other living being, but she was one of the few to bear my mark. Delilah survived. Escaping in a form of pure energy she gathered power over the course of a great amount of time, hiding in the magical hotspots if the land she was in, known as Equestria. The world she is now in is innocent and has little taste of war, however if Deliah remains there that will drastically change. There are great powers to be harnessed for good or evil. Delilah will conquer this world and make the people of this world her slaves." The spectral being tilted his head to the side "The last variable is you Corvo will you save Equestria or watch with me as it burns?" The ex-assassin scowled up at the Outsider "You know you don't even have to ask me that so why bother?" The Outsider nodded and gestured to the strange door Corvo noted earlier. "There are only a few different varieties of world, there is the universe and several others around it, one being the void. The universe is only one but each dimension are on different frequencies, for lack of better word, stepping through the Portal door will effectively tune you in. There is a vast amount of mana everywhere in this world, you will have a near infinite supply and your abilities recharge almost instantaneously.I will also grant you a new arsenal of supernatural abilities." The entinty hovering infront of Corvo waved its hand and the knowledge of his new abilities flooded into his head and unlocked as one. "There is no where to restock on your gadgets in this world but natural resources are about a billion times more abundant than your world and you should have little difficulty creating your sleep darts and so on." Another wave of a hand and Corvo felt himself become weighed down with all his gear, looking down he saw his mask held in his hand and in a practiced movement placed it on his face, feeling click into place. He looked at the door and it swung open, revealing a curtain of shimmering darkness. He then directed his gaze to the Outsider and asked the only question he had left. "Will Emily be safe?" The thing the question was directed at smiled. "Yes. Time passes faster there, even if you were there for a year, barely an hour would have passed in Dunwall. This works with and against us though, Delilah entering Equestria as energy temporarily synced your two worlds time streams, its wearing off though. If you don't enter in the next five minutes... It will already be too late. Corvo approached the Portal door and was just about to step through when- "Oh Corvo?" The named turned around for one last chat with the speaker. "You completed your first shadowous journey without killing anyone, but I feel I must warn you. Not everything can be neutralised and still live, Delilah is one such being, she must die if you are to succeed." Corvo turned to the door without giving any indication he'd heard anything and without hesitation... Leaped through into free fall. //-------------------------------------------------------// Hello, Corvo (REWRITE CHAPTER 1) //-------------------------------------------------------// What..? Corvo had expected it to be immensely painful like the time he was shot, but it just felt like he was falling, but something was off. It didn't feel as if he was moving in any particular direction, it mainly felt as if he were flying upwards yet he could feel air rushing past him as if he were falling. The sensation on his skin felt not unlike passing through a wall of light that accepted him as Lord Protector, all the hairs on his body were standing up with the curious tingling of ants on his body. A slightly worrying fact was that he could faintly smell burning and the potions he had on him were bubbling yet Corvo felt cold if anything. He endured this for several minutes and was began to wonder if this was all a deception by the Outsider to dispose of him, when he saw a spectrum of light penetrating the otherwise seamless darkness around him. It started beneath him and slowly spread around him until he was contained in a bubble of it, an he could faintly hear music. Wumph! He landed as if he'd stepped of a box rather than falling what must have been hundreds of feet. All of his gear remained intact, his potions hadn't evaporated and all in all was in pretty good condition. He dusted himself of (out of habit really) and examined his surroundings. He appeared to be in an extremely bright field with an extremely bright tree with what appeared to be a rather precarious castle lodged in a mountain side several miles away. Well, the Outsider had said magic was in extreme levels here, maybe the locals used it somehow, similar to the way he used it... He spotted a town about a kilometre away and a... Yellow horse in the field? What..? The hell..? He though to himself. Is every single thing here spat out of an elixir high?!?!! Not knowing if is was hostile or if it was some kind of alarm system, (he'd spotted wings of some sort folded against its sides) he decided to test out one of his new powers. "Spiritus" he whispered under his mask, he felt a curious sensation ripple through out his body. It felt as if he'd become heavier and lighter at the same time, looking down at his hands he saw that they weren't there. Wraith, that was the name given by the Outsider to this ability. He was now invisible and could pass through objects, provided they weren't thicker than about a meter, however he could only move slowly and cannot interact with any solid object others than the ground and living beings. He was invisible, however that would wane depending on how many we're looking at him, and for how long. He approached the horse and dropped wraith, leaning out from behind a tree, he knew he could hold wraith for a full two minutes he didn't want to push it. Looking out at the horse he observed its mane and tail, a bright pink colour and its wings, the same as its fur, some kind of camouflage? He reached up with his knife hand, being careful to not stab himself in the head, reached for the tiny knob that controlled the lense magnification in his mask. Carefully he twisted it up to level one and admired it easier. He started suddenly, he could hear a voice!? He twisted the zoom back out and looked for the voice's source only to find it had mysteriously gone silent. He looked at the horse, and blinked (not the telportation kind), and back to the horse, double blink, horse, treble blink, horse, quadruple blink. "No fuckin' way..." He cursed " you've got to be kiddin me." " I'm gonna prove its not so, just to restore sanity." He zoomed... And cursed. Outsider. What. The. Fu-
