after being branded with a mysterious mark my a group of hooded figured in the human world, sunset shimmer is sent back to equestria in shame. when she arrives, she realizes that the mark was not the curse she thought it to be.

it is actually the symbol of the pyromancer; one with great control of can connection to fire. when her power is discovered, the great hound lords attempt to kill her to preserve their thrones. will she survive? will she perish under the wrath of their legions? or will she bring light to the dark dens of the beast kings?

sunset shimmer opened her eyes with great effort. last she recalled, twilight sparkle had gone back to equestria, leaving her to face the full wrath of canterlot high's student body. but before the mob could grab her, she had been struck from behind( she guessed, all she remembered was sharp pain and the world fading away). the room she was in was dark, lit only be a braiser that had but embers where a fire would normally blaze.

"for you crimes, you shall be marked with the symbol of shame." said a voice from behind her. a robed figure in front of her pulled a branding iron,that she had not noticed before in her concussed state,from the fire. another one lifted up her skirt and...um...undergarment(can you guys please be mature for a few minutes so I can finish the chapter?),revealing her left butt cheek. the first figure pressed the glowing iron brand against her behind, burning the mark onto her. the figure behind her released his hold on her and began muttering incoherently. several other voices from the shadows joined in, causing the room to glow dark blue with magic. as the muttering reach it's crescendo,so did the magic's power,sending her away from earth and to a different world; one she once called home.
