Prolouge
Twilight stared at the portal. She wondered about its backstory... she turned her mind and her head to her human friends... the humanized Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and Rarity, her love, Flash Sentry, and Sunset Shimmer, sobbing on the ground. Her gaze set of Flash Sentry. His blue eyes pierced her violet ones, but not in a bad way. She smiled, and tore away her stare to the sky. She noticed the portal was about to close, just one minute left. She turned her back on the human world and gazed into the seemingly solid stone.
She heard running footsteps and looked to the side. A girl with lavender skin and short, sunrise-orange hair drawn up in a ponytail charged past her, pushing her aside, and entered the portal. A loud crash was heard in the school, and Principal Celestia and Vice-Principal Luna ran to investigate. She had to get to the portal... her mind dazed from hitting the ground, she runs quickly to the portal... a stinging pain erupted in her face as she collided head-on with solid stone. She looked up, the world spinning, voices distorted, her thoughts obscured.
Only one thought pierced through the wave of lingering pain: "Too late..."
