Five weeks. Five weeks since the final desperate bids to outrace the apocalypse were laid down. In that time there was victory, defeat, examples of bravery and brilliance, and examples of treason and cowardice. In the midst of the morass, certain ponies were to make all the difference. Some were known to history and throughout the land; others more obscure. But at the day that it all happened, when the darkness came yawning, a single plan by a single mare with the aid of the best among ponies would make all the difference.

The Bastion was raised against the darkness, and the darkness rushed no more.
