Chapter1
the rebirth of a dictator
I walked on to the stage, squinting my eyes for a second, hearing shouting and feeling the cold breeze rustle my hair against my face, I opened my eyes to see a cheering crowd of people. I smile softly and proceed to walk to the center of the stage, seeing more people in one place than i have ever seen before ." well isn't that a magnificent sight" I whisper to no one in particular. I walk up to what looks like a pole elevated on a bunch of sticks, so was I suppose to climb that or something? "keep moving!" a guard exclaimed in a cold voice. Man these guards can be mean some times, though its not their fault, what with the new president being a dictator and all. Actually, scratch the whole not their fault thing, its their fault it originally began with these guys electing him
"Turn around!" man this guy is grumpy, did his granny die ors something? And the smell of gasoline in the air wasn't helping. After a second of hesitation I turned around and was ones again greeted with the cheering crowd of ridiculous proportions, it must have been about two or three million people all packed in the streets of Radkeygrad, the biggest city in what was located in the former country of Russia and currently known as The Republic of Redkey, or the most militaristic country in the world.
"whelp, this was a good run..." I exclaimed in a nonchalant fashion, waving to the crowd with both of my tied up hands "shut up you bastard!" I think one of the guards might have hit me with the stock of his rifle because the next thing I knew was that my jaw was introduced to the cold hard floor and the back of my head felt like it was going to crack.
"Get up!" I'll be honest I was a little mad about the whole stock-to-head thing "*cough* Ok, ok, yeah." the guards seemed to portray pure hate in their voices." Back up and stand still!" this guard seemed particularly pissed off, he was the one who hit me. The guard took out a roll of rope and proceeded to tie me up, struggling at the task at hand he motioned for help, two amused looking guards snapped out of their snickering and came over to help him. It took these stooges about three minutes to tie me up so that the only part of my body I could really move was my head.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw a fourth person approach me, I dint need to see her face to tell who she was "Ahh, Ms.Donna Hale, good to see you, might you help me get out of this mess?" she had a judging look on her face, one that she all ways had , even if she wasn't actually judging you. "I'm afraid that that's not possible" she stated while looking me over, I frowned in a cheesy manner.
"So this is how ya bitches gonna do it?" She had a look of confusion on her face for the fraction of a second, probably due to the change of my choice words. "Yes... I suppose so... Thought you deserve it" My cheesy frown deepened "so whats it gonna be? Shooting? Stoning? Burning an innocent man alive?" I said with a slight hint of mockery. " The third. and Mr.Radkey, I'm happy that you finally get what you deserve." she turned on a microphone piece that was in her ear and turned to the cheering crowd . She spoke and her voice boomed around the stage, every street city and on every TV station in the country. "Today we rid our selves from this monster that has been killing our people, sending them to mindless wars, poisoning the air with nuclear fallout, scourging the Earth and taking all that was dear to us!".
I listened intensely for a couple of minutes but then relaxed, it wasn't fun to hear about all the things you've done yourself. To summarize the following ten minutes, blah blah blah world war three, blah blah blah genocide, blah blah blah slavery. "At least I didn't rape children... or eat them for that matter!" I tried to justify my crimes but no one listened to me so I figure it was better to keep quiet. After Ms.Important over here was finished with her speech she looked at me and asked "So, Radkey, any last words?". I looked at her and started laughing, that went on for a minute or two until I finally relaxed . "Laughing in the face of death won't save you from it." she stated coldly, I looked at her and said "Oh, I'm not trying to be saved, its just that the guard are brain washed to kill any one who kills the people's beloved dictator " that last statement really pissed the crowd off. I was bluffing, but that sure scared her.
She quickly realized that I couldn't have done something like that and her fear disappeared, since I wasn't a doctor of the mind and it would take a lot of resources to organize such an army, and by now my following was down to five or six edgy teenagers. "Good bluff. give me the torch Michel." . Now my face was dead serious, and my gaze met hers. "We deserved it. We're worms in this paradise, were back stabbing rats, if it wasn't me who tried to burn the world it would have been someone else. You know that I'm right "I looked at her with the most serious expression I could muster.
She was holding a torch in her right hand and walking towards me. "Enjoy the hellfire Radkey" she threw it on to the sticks under me. the timber beneath was soaked in gasoline, and so I went up in flames in seconds. I was burned at the stake int the twenty first century, the last things I remember is me screaming from the excruciating pain and the crowds enthusiastic cheering. Then I blacked out. My vision was filled with darkness, a cold, lifeless, deep void was all that I saw, thank god that it didn't last forever.
I woke up to see a night sky filled with stars, something that couldn't be seen on Earth, at least not any more, after me bombing china,India, Iran and probably Spain, though I was drunk at the time I gave the orders, so I might have replaced the explosives with gummy bears and or flowers, any way then I bombed a few European countries. So with fallout and all its a little hard to see the stars. I tried to look around but it was hard, and I felt tired as though I hadn't slept for days, so I laid my head down on the ground, and looked at the stars. My eyelids felt heavy and I figured that maybe sleep would be good. I felt pretty melancholy, probably because I was burned alive. Yet I wasn't dead, or maybe I was, I didn't know or care. I slowly closed my eyes trying to soke in all of the beauty that I was seeing but my eyelids finally gave in. For a second I felt a breeze hat smelled like pine bark, grass and wet soil. I was in a forest, probably. Then I fell my thoughts get cloudy, and then I fell asleep.
