"Please give it to me Zeeb. You know that it unites the others." "No. You know that this thing is more powerful than all the others combined. You saw what it almost did to me when I used it. You can't handle the power this thing holds." "Listen, I respect you for what you did to help. And I respect the position you have on the island. But for the best interest of both our nations, I must request that you give it to me now." "And I respect you too. But I have to refuse your request again. I'm sorry, but it's much too dangerous for anyone here. Only it can choose who can wield it." "Then I'm sorry. I guess your citizens are going to have to find a new leader." In a flash of light, one of the arguing figures disappears. He never returns. A thousand years passes and little has changed in Equestria. But behind all of the pleasantries of this kingdom of candy colored equines, events have unfolded that will change the fate of millions. Within the walls of Canterlot Castle, a pony is grading papers that her students have written. Needless to say, she is not enjoying herself with this mundane chore. She would rather play her saxophone or go on another adventure with her friends. But this has to be done either now or never. There is then a sudden explosion outside. "What was that?" she wonders. The alicorn trots to the balcony and looks out for anything strange. In the city square there is a strange creature on the ground. It has two legs and two arms and is long. It wears a sort of regal clothing. The strange thing is that it has neither horns nor wings and it's true colors is tan. The pony looks through her telescope to get a better look at the creature on the ground. She steps back for a second and says to herself, "I've seen that creature somewhere before... But where?" As she wonders where she saw the strange thing, the city guard runs into the square to confront the thing. Their weapons are drawn and ready to strike. The strange thing tries to get up and lifts it head when it is attacked from behind and the soldiers, instead of killing the thing, intend to brutalize it before it's death. Horrified by this barbaric behavior, the alicorn teleports down to the square and yells loudly, "Hey! Stop this right now!" The guards have no choice but to obey and spread away from the thing on the ground. "This is not how you act! You are supposed to capture this-" She pauses to think of what to call the strange thing, "this 'thing' and take it to the dungeon, not to beat it senselessly like a, a, a rag-doll or something! Is that clear?" "Yes majesty, but your aunt ordered us to do this. Even you know better than go against her." "SILENCE!" The dark blue alicorn shouts using her regal voice, "I will deal with it!" She slings him over her back and flies off to her room. As she sets the strange being on her bed a voice pipes up, "Here we go again. First it was the hydra, then it was the owl. What's next? A freakin' whale?" A dark green wyvern groans in his own little bed. "Shut up Scales! The guards almost killed this thing." "I say those bruises are an improvement for that thing. It's ugly." "Don't say that! I mean feel it's skin. It's so soft." She says rubbing it's head with her hoof. She stares intently at it's face. For some reason, she knows who and what this thing is. She just can't place it. "You're strange Moony. Strange, strange, strange..." he replies as he stretches. The wyvern gets out of bed and walks over to her. "You sure it's alive still?" "Positive. I heard it breathing as I was flying up here." She looks at it intently. She suddenly runs to her desk and comes back with some paper and a pencil. She starts drawing the creature and takes notes on what each thing on it's body does. "Scales, do you think it's some strange dragon or wyvern?" "It better not be a wyvern. It's so ugly!" The alicorn princess taps the back of his head and keeps drawing. She stops and observes the strange looking gold horn growing out of it's back. She uses her magic to pull at it and it comes out cleanly. "It's a sword!" She says in shock. "That hasn't been used in over five hundred years!" "That's it! It's a dragon!" Scales yells. "No, it can't be... Dragons don't use swords as treasure. And besides, it only has a few scales and no spikes. No tail either. If it's a dragon, it's got to be very old, very strange, or both." Suddenly it starts to come around and groan as it sits up. Chapter 2: Discovery"Hello? Can you hear me?" The alicorn princess asks tenderly to the waking creature. He groans and says, "Yea." "Oh good! You can talk! What is your name?" "Vaan. Vaan Ratsbane." "Vaan? That's a strange name. Where are you from? What species are you?" "Stop! Please... my head hurts..." "Oh! Sorry. Maybe I should heal you." "That would be nice." The alicorn princess touches her horn on his wounds. They heal within moments and he hiss as they do. She even takes care of his open wounds. He opens his eyes and smiles as if she was an old friend of his. "What?" She asks backing up. "Thanks. I haven't been treated like this by one of your kind in a long time." "Like how long? Five hundred years?" The strange creature laughs, "And what put it into your mind that I was that old?" She holds up his sword, "This. This hasn't been used in over five hundred years." "My blade. May I have it please?" He asks sitting up and holding out his hand. "No. Tell me what you are." "You don't know? Of course you wouldn't... our kinds hasn't been around hardly ever." "What is your kind?" The thing is about to speak when somepony knocks on the door. "Moony? Are you in there?" The human freezes as if that was the voice of the Reaper Pony himself. "Is that...? Celestia?" He asks in a forced whisper. "Yea, she's my..." "Hide me!" he says desperately, "She can't know I'm here!" The door is knocked on again, "Moony?" "In a minute!" 'Moony' shouts back. "Hide in the bathroom." She whispers pointing to the half-open door. He dashes in and quietly locks it. "Come in autie!" The door is opened and Princess Celestia strides in her usual semi-stiff way. "Hey Moony, I heard from the guards that you took a dangerous creature in here. Is that correct?" "Yes autie. I did." "And where is it now?" "It- ah..." She blushes and looks down as she pokes the stone floor with her hoof, "It kinda, sorta... got away. It ran off somewhere down the mountain towards Ponyville." "Are you okay? Moony? Did it attack you?" "No! It didn't. It was actually scared and it jumped over me." "Scared? Strange... Well, thanks for helping. And let me know when you see it again. Okay?" "Yes madam." Celestia smiles as she trots off and closes the door behind her. "It's safe now." She says to the bathroom door. It unlocks and out walks the thing standing tall. Like a king, Moony thinks. "Thank you for helping me. Right now she is my greatest enemy, but I dare not kill her." Moony looks at him kinda shocked. He sounds dangerous and yet doesn't at the same time. His appearance is the same way. He has a sort of gentlepony killer air about him. It's scary and yet it's comforting. He seems to look past Moony as if in a trance and sees something. He walks past her and picks up a silver necklace with a green gen attached with a silver border. He stares at it like it's something he lost ages ago and he can't believe it's found. "Where did you get this?" He asks mesmerized. "It's mine." She says taking it away from Vaan. "And no, you cannot have it." "Where did you get it?" "I found it in a bush after the Changeling invasion." His eyes dilate as if he realized something and he has to take action. "Could you teleport me to Princess Luna?" "What?" "Could you please teleport me to Princess Luna? I have to see her." "Sure." Moony makes her horn glow and he disappears from the room and appears into Luna's. Chapter 3: New Body, New ComplicationsLuna spins around in shock and asks who is there. "What? You forgot about me after 1000 years? For shame Luna." He says in a playful tone. "ZEEB! What are you doing here?! Where have you been? What have you been doing all this time?" She asks with a combination of shock and joy. "Settle down Luna. And please keep it down. I'm not very popular any more." "That's right... The law." "I just heard about it once I got home. I never knew how much Celestia wanted it." "I know... I got so fed up that I lost it. I made a pact with your ancestor Lunara to get back at her. But it didn't end well." Zeeb shakes his head, "Lunara is the Great Mother of the Laarians, not the Nauticans. She's evil." "No wonder I felt dirty rebelling against my sister..." "Well, now you know." "So, why are you here?" Zeeb sighs and says, "My brother is coming... and he is bringing an army." "Oh no." "I know. I need permission to come into Equestria with my army. And I can't fight them alone either. I need your army's help." "You know my sister won't allow that. And it will be tricky trying to sneak past her." "I know. We need to figure out how to get that Element." "Element? You mean, the one MoonCatcher has?" "Aye." "Well, that might be a bit difficult. She loves that thing." "I can tell." "How do you suppose you can get your hands on it?" "I don't know... I never knew you HAD a daughter til now." "Well, maybe if you tell her the situation, she will give it to you." "No! Then she'll tell Celestia and I'll be sent to the sun." "Right. Um, well, do you have any ideas?" "Well... what does she do in her spare time?" "She likes to read, practice her magic, go on these dangerous adventures...." "What about her personal life?" "Well, she's single, she doesn't like to be called by her second name..." "Wait. She's single?" "Yes. She hasn't dated anypony for months." "That's it! Luna, do you remember the spell you used to use to make me a pony?" "Of course." "Do it! I can become her lover and have her give me the Element then just disappear." "Sounds like a good plan, I guess...." She uses the spell on him. He turns into an alicorn with a flaming mane. She looks at the mane. "I don't think that is supposed to happen...." He looks in the mirror. "I like it." "Whatever floats your boat. Are you sure this will work?" "It has to! Besides, you liked it when I laid you down." "Hey, hey, I'm still married here!" "Not a thousand years ago." "I was falling in love with him!" "You didn't know who to love." He laughs. She tugs on her ears. "Just get out of here!" "I need a story though." "Just say that you came from a place that the servants didn't allow you to do anything. That'll explain no cutie mark as well." "Okay." He tries to trot out but stumbles. "And you also need to work on that as well." "Aye." He chuckles. "Good luck." She opens the door for him. "Thanks." He crawls out. The sound of talking comes from the right. He manages to slowly walk to a door. The voices come from that room. He tries to listen in when he stumbles in and lands on his face. The princess flies over to him from her bed. "Are you alright?" She lifts him up. "Aye." He says while being helped. She lands. "What is your name? I've never seen you around here before." "Fyre Mane." "It suits you and your mane." She giggles. "Where ya from?" "Far from here, across the Eastern Sea." "Interesting." Her eyes slightly move to the left. "Why don't you have a cutie mark?" "Never got to find out what I'm good at." "Maybe I can help!" "Really?" "Yea! It'll be fun! So," She levitates a quill and blank scroll in front of her. "What do you like to do?" "I really don't know... I never did anything..." he acts like an introvert. "Why?" "My servants kept me under constant care." "I see. Don't worry, I will help you find your cutie mark!" She turns around. "You see mine?" "Yea." "Do you know what it means?" "No. But I guess it has to do with raising the moon?" "Right you are!" She faces him. "Do you want a cutie mark?" "Aye. I do." "Well, we can start today. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Princess Mi Amoebae Cadiz MoonCatcher. But just call me PMC for short." "A pleasure to meet you." He bows but falls on his face again. She smiles and helps him up again. "Well Fyre Mane, let us get started. What do you want to do first?" "I don't know. All I really did was stare up at the sky when I was in bed. I could only imagine what it was like to raise the stars. But I heard that is what the new princess does." "Maybe you can help me raise the stars tonight. How about that? Or we can start out simple." "How about we start with walking, flying, and magic?" "Works with me!" He blushes, "It's embarrassing...I'm the only adult that can't fly or use magic, let alone walk." "Don't worry," She puts her hoof around him. "I'll do anything I can to help anypony in need." "Really?" She is about to speak when a male alicorn trots in. "Hey Moony!" His eyes go over to Zeeb. "Hello....." "Hello." PMC looks at the stallion. "Hi Artemis. Why are you here?" Artemis walks past her. "Just forgot my saddlebag. Who's the new guy?" "Fyre Mane." "I'm Prince Artemis. Nice to meet you." "Aye." "What are you two doing?" "Simply talking." "Okay. Well, I'll be off." He leaves, shutting the door behind him. "Who exactly was he?" Fyre asks. "Just my ex-coltfriend, Prince Artemis. We don't talk much anymore." She frowns. "Oh?" "Yea. We dated for almost a year." She gives out a exasperated sigh. "What happened?" "I don't like to talk about it..." "Then I won't ask." "Alrighty. Now, let us get back to teaching you how to walk." He nods. "It's pretty simple." She steps back from him. "Take your baby steps, and come to me. One hoof in front of the other." He tries and wobbles. "Take it easy, don't rush yourself." He takes another step. "That's it, now another..." She smiles encouragingly. He does it again. "Try going just a bit faster." He does so and manages to reach her. "Awesome work! Think you got it down?" "I think so." "Perfect! So, what do you want to learn next?" "Maybe some magic?" "Of course! Anything particular you had in mind?" "Anything really." "Let us begin with the basics." She levitates a book between them. "Levitation." "Okay." She sets it down on the floor. "Try it out." He tries and strains himself. "Not too hard now." She puts her hoof on his shoulder. He manages to spark his horn but that's it. "Seems like you need a bit of help." She brings her head in close and touches the tip of her horn to his and transfer her magic to him. He is then able to lift the book. She moves her head back and watches proudly. He is able to do it on his own now. "You are doing excellent! Just excellent!" He sets the book down on the coffee table. "I think that should be enough for today." She puts the book back on her shelf. He nods and sits down exhausted. "You must be tired, aren't you?" She settles down by his side. He nods and pants. She giggles and puts her wing around him. He looks up and smiles. She smiles back warmly. "Why help me? I'm a complete stranger?" Fyre asks puzzled "I like to help." "That's it?" "Well, you are also special." "You just say that because my mane." "Of course not! Its just that, you are super nice and funny." "Funny? How?" "It's cute whenever you fall...." she blushes lightly. "I thought so..." he replies rolling his eyes and looking down. She looks away and uses her wing to hide her face. ~Why do I suck talking to stallions? It's not that hard PMC! Ugh, I should just show him his room and go to bed...~ Her thoughts question. He yawns and shakes his head. She removes her wing and mutters, "I should be going to bed. I'll teleport to your room." "Thanks." "No problem." Her horn glows and she teleports him to a guest room. He gets in bed and goes to sleep. "Ugh, I blew it Scales!" She buries her head in her pillow. Scales grumbles in amusement. "As usual. But I think you did pretty good. Can't wait to see what tomorrow will be like." PMC sighs. "I guess you're right. Well, goodnight." He lays his head down on the floor. "Night." They both fall asleep. The next morning Zeeb wakes up to find breakfast at his bedside. PMC and Scales are out on the training fields. "Ok Scales. One more time!" The black wyvern grunts. "I'm getting tired of this." He reads the note. 'Dear Fyre Mane, I just wanted to welcome you to your first official day in Equestria with a little something-something to start your day off. If you need me, I'll be out in the training field.' "Well, that's nice." A small explosion comes from outside. He wobbles to the window and looks outside. There is a cloud of smoke blocking the window. He tries to gallop down to the training grounds. The smoke finally clears. PMC is hopping up and down excitedly, while Scales is laying on the ground, electricity sparking on his body."What in the name of Graybeard happened?!" "I'm practicing magic, duh!" She exclaims. Scales groans and looks at Zeeb. "I am NOT-BZZT!-going to be-BZZT!-used for this kind of-BZZT!-magic training-BZZT!-AGAIN!-BZZT!" "Electric spell?" PMC nods. "Yup! Quite electrifying, isn't it?" She laughs while Scales growls and goes inside unhappily. Zeeb laughs as well and it's a hearty one. Scales stops at the door and lashes his tail, sending a green laser at Zeeb. He gets hit and screams in pain. "SCALES, HOW DARE YOU?!?" She rushes over to him and looks at his body. His flank smokes and he stays still. It's the only way in peace that he can deal with pain. Her horn glows an emerald green and the tip touches his flank, healing his wound. He cries in pain as she heals him. He has forgotten this sort of pain. She begins to stroke his face tenderly while she heals him. He closes his eyes and leans into her hoof. He cries even more as he remembers his past life as a boy. She finishes and leans in very close to him, so close that her lips are brushing against his cheek. "There there," she softly whispers. "My mother... used to do that for me..." She raises her head so that there eyes are level and her lips are just centimeters away from his. "Really......She must have been a nice mother...." "I... I loved her so much...! But... but..." She accidentally leans in too close and their lips collide. He freezes and takes her in. She gives out a muffled gasp, but accepts it and slowly closes her eyes. He goes through his childhood over and over till he spits, "Curse this immortal soul!" She gets startled and jumps a bit. "Huh?" "I wish I could die to see her again." PMC gets a confused look on her face. He sighs and stops crying. His old habits of coping take over. "Are you alright?" He nods and wipes his eyes. Her face turns tomato-red. "I'm sorry for kissing you. I didn't mean it. I just couldn't stop myself. I mean, well, um....." "It's okay... I needed it." "Oh, well, I'm also sorry for Scales shooting you. I didn't know he would do that. He just gets kinda angry easily, you know." He nods and cracks his neck. "I'll be fine." "Okay, that's good to hear." She stands and levitates him on his hooves. He sighs and asks if she can teach him some more magic. "Yep. What do you want to learn now?" "Again, something simple." "We will start with a simple spell. Making a fireball." She steps back and her horn glows purple. There is a spark, then fire starts to form. He tries the same thing and instead of making it like a normal fire, it becomes black with a gray aura about it. She stops. "Wh-what is that?!?" She steps back, trying to take it all in. "Oh crap!" He says as it dances in front of him. "How did you do that?" "I don't know!" He says in shock. But deep down he knows why. "Can you make it stop?" He does so and he stares at where the fire once was. She walks up to him. "That was.......amazing! I never seen anything like it!" "M-me neither!" Suddenly there is a bright light coming from his sides. She gasps. "Your flank! The cutie mick-I mean, mark!" He looks down and it's the fire he just made. "Woah!" "You actually did it!" She squeals and flies up excitedly. He rubs it in awe. "I never thought I would get one of these..." She lands in front of him. "I knew you could it!" She throws her hooves around his neck and kisses him passionately. He freezes and accepts her kiss. He looks to the side and sees Artemis watching them. Artemis glares at him and makes a back-off-of-her face. Zeeb breaks away and smiles. The prince walks up. "Hey!" PMC smiles. "Hi Artemis. Do you need anything?" "I actually want to know if you would like me to take you somewhere tonight." Zeeb inwardly panics but lets everything play out. PMC smiles and blushes. "Sure." "How about a restaurant, then the park?" "That sounds perfect Artemis." "Alright, pick you up at 8." He turns and walks by Zeeb, smirking evilly at him. Zeeb narrows his eyes at him. He closes his eyes, holds his head high, and strides away. Zeeb gives him a look and then turns to smile at the princess. "I guess you better get ready." She smiles. "Yea, I guess I'll see you later." She happily skips inside. He nods and once she is gone huffs. "He is deliberately trying to make this hard. I wish I could teach him a lesson." Chapter 4: Anger ManagementLater on that night, PMC is in her room, putting the finishing touches to the bow in her mane and tail. Zeeb, however, decided to use his false alicorn royalty status to take a blimp to Ponyville. Once she is done, she tells her wyvern goodbye and steps out in front of the castle, waiting for Artemis. Zeeb's fiery mane gets brighter as he watches Luna raise the moon. "It's been ages since I've seen her do that." he says to himself. Once she finishes, she flies down to her daughter and they talk. Zeeb pays attention to the task at hand and lands in the small town. The only sound heard in Ponyville is crickets chirping. He trots to the library and knocks on the door. The door opens and the librarian, looking very tired, says, "Sorry sir, we are closed...." "Oh, I'm sorry." He turns and shows her his horn and wings without making it look like he's showing off. "Oh, you're royalty! I'm sorry! Come in!" He turns back and trots in. "Thank you. I promise that I won't disturb your rest." "It's fine. Take all the time you need." She goes back to her desk. "Where are all your history books? I would like one that tells of all of pony history." "At that shelf right there." She points with her hoof. "Thank you." He nods and picks out the largest book and sits down with it. He uses his mind to control his magic and manages to manipulate the book to turn pages at will. She does paperwork while waiting for him to finish. "There are no references to our kind at all..." he mutters just loud enough for the librarian to hear. "What's that?" "There is no reference to the Emerald Sea Ponies?" "Emerald Sea ponies?" "Aye. I'm from there. Emerald Island." "Interesting....." "Aye. There is nothing... Maybe it's because our expedition wasn't recorded properly." The librarian shows no interest to him. He closes the book and asks where her oldest books are. She gets out a big fat dusty book from her desk. "This is the oldest book here." He takes it and looks through it, skimming it. She sighs and returns to doing her work. He stops at a section where several pages had been ripped out. "I can't believe it!" "Believe what?" She sounds bored instead of curious. He slams the book shut and stomps out. She jumps straight up. "Well, I say..." He gets even more angry and his mane flares up more. The Ponyvillians are woken up by the light. A few of them look out the windows. "How dare she erase all of that history?! How DARE she destroy what we have done for her kind?! HOW DARE SHE?!" He stomps his hooves and his mane bursts up like an erupting volcano. All of the ponies cry out and a few go back inside their house. He settles down and just goes to the park. He lays down in the grass and stays there for the whole night. In the morning, PMC is searching the castle just to find him. "Morning Princess, Are ye lookin' fer sometin'?" a guard asks. "Yes, do you know where Fyre Mane is?" "You mean the royal with fire fer a mane?" "Yes! That's the one! You know where he is?" "'E took a blimp ta Ponyville. 'E 'asn't returned yet t'ough." "Thank you!" She teleports to Ponyville, calling out his name. "Are you looking for the fire maned pony?" a filly asks. "Yes dear. Have you seen him?" "He woke us all up last night and I saw him in the park." "Thank you!" She flies there in less than a minute. Zeeb is found under a tree sleeping. She sighs and and lifts him on her back carefully and flies back to the castle. He snorts as he sleeps. She reaches her balcony and trots inside her room, laying him on her bed. He moans. "Hmm?" She walks up to him, trying to hear. "Why did you erase us?" He groans. "Erase us? Who's us?" She pauses and shakes her head. "I better not worry about it." She looks at her left wing. "Oh, this stupid thing isn't folding up again...." He rolls over and falls off the bed. She rolls her eyes and levitates him back on. He wakes up and stretches. "Morning." She smiles as she rubs the base of her wing with her hoof. "Hello." He rolls over on his hooves. She smiles and stops rubbing. "Now, lets try again.." She tries to fold the wing, but fails. "It won't fold?" "Nope. It happens from time to time." "May I help?" "Sure." He trots over. "Can you try to push it down for me?" He nods and does so gently. She tries to push it down as well and it quickly snaps shut. "Oww!" "How long has it been that way?" "It's a birth defect. Had it ever since I was born." "And its a random occurrence?" "Yep." "It must be scary when you fly." "It is. I always have to watch myself for how long I fly." She sighs and sits on her bed with a plop. He smiles at her. "How was your date?" "It was lovely. Arty is such a charmer. And guess what?" "What?" "We made up! And we might get back together again!" "Oh... that's wonderful." "Isn't it? But I'm thinking about it. I'm not so sure yet." "Why?" "I just have a feeling I might run into another stallion and fall in love with him." "Oh?" "Yea. But I'm sure that won't happen. Me and Artemis were like, destined to be together! Or, at least that is what Celestia said." "Or is it that she wants you to marry him?" "Probably so." "Do you like him?" "Well, kind of, I guess..." "Did you kiss?" "No, but I knew Artemis wanted to. He kept looking at my lips." "Well, I've heard that if there is a spark, love will follow." "Really? Well, I guess I just have to wait for that spark. Do you mean like, a real spark that will pop out of nowhere?" "I'm not sure. But my mother said that I would know it when it happened." "Wow.... I can't wait for my spark! I do wonder if Artemis is the one for me." "Me too." He says with a smiling face. Buy inside he thinks ~Solaris forbid that happens.~ "But all I can do now is wait." "Well, we can do some training." "Hold on, first thing's first, why were you sleeping in the park last night?" "I went to the library there and the blimp left without me." "How?" "No clue." "Then why did the ponies in Ponyville said that you woke them up last night?" "I was angry." "Why?" "I found out your aunt erased our history." "Hmmm, I wonder why would she do that...?" He remains silent so he doesn't blow his cover. "Oh well, she probably didn't want anypony to find out something particular. I should go find Scales." She slides off the bed. He nods and lets her go. She trots out the room. And in trot Luna. "Oh, hello Zeeb. I thought you would be in here. How is everything going?" "Harder than I thought." "Let me guess. Artemis has returned?" "Aye. And he's contending me for your daughter." "Well, there is one thing that I can suggest for you." "And that is?" "You are going to have to do something that will make MoonCatcher fall head over hooves for you and push Artemis out of the picture." "Gee, you think Luna?" "Of course. But if you don't make your move then it will be too late. It's either now or never." She walks to the door, stops, and looks back at him. "Make your move Zeeb." She leaves. Zeeb shakes his head as she leaves. Artemis walks in. "Hey Moony, I was-" Once he sees Zeeb, he stops. "Seems like we meet again, eh?" "Aye." "What are you doing flirting with my filly?" Kaylynn • 7:05 PM "Your filly? If I understand correctly you two broke up a few months ago." "That was a long time ago. Now everything is better. You just need to back off of her, ok?" "Why? I'm as royal as you are." "Well, for your information, me and PMC are a match made in heaven. You just popped out of nowhere, with your creepy fire magic and what-not. It's waning and waxing, not waning and fire." "Even the moon needs the sun." "One day, I'll be marrying her, and you won't. She is mine, not your's, period. If you want her, you have to fight for her." "I am a colt of peace. Not war. I say we let her choose." "Hmph. Seems fair enough. Now I shall be off. And don't try to play games with me Fyre Mane." He strides out of the room. "Like what? Tag?" He jokes. He stops short. "You know what I mean!" Fyre laughs. "Shut up, or I will actually fight a pitiful weakling like yourself!" "Weakling?" "You didn't think I knew all about how you never got to do a single thing? And that PMC had to waste her breath and time teaching you idiot of a pony?" "That's it! You're on!" "Oh, puh-lease. I don't want to waste my time on a weak opponent like you. I have better things to do." "What? Are you a coward? You afraid I'll mess that disgusting pile of crap you call a mane?" He frowns and stomps right up to him. "PMC likes this style! She calls it cute! And I'm not a coward! I actually taught PMC everything she knows about hornfencing! AND I also helped her defeat a manticore! Two of them!" "Then I shouldn't be much of a challenge." "Well, I would like to see you bring it, little spark!" "When and where?" "Castle courtyard, tomorrow at midnight!" "Deal!" "You are going down I say!" "We shall see." Fyre retorts. Artemis frowns and leaves the room. He huffs out steam. Hours pass, and PMC isn't back yet. Zeeb trots out looking for her. Noises come from the direction of Ghastly Gorge. He calls out her name. A blast of fire lights up the sky and a shriek comes from the gorge. He gallops in and yells her name. The sounds get louder and many voices are heard. He gallops more and calls out for her, "Princess! Where are you?!" Suddenly, a blast of red fire rams straight into him. He jumps out of the way and looks around bug-eyed. Two wyverns with a green glow in their eyes are fighting Scales and PMC. "I thought you said they were your friends!" PMC exclaims as she dodges a claw and jumps on a rock. Scalea growls and replies, "They are, Hissocore has them under his spell!" He thinks quickly then jumps in the middle of the gorge yelling at the other wyverns. "Hey! Over here!" One of them turns and charges at him while the other one deals a savage blow on PMC's flank. She screams and tumbles down, blood rapidly pouring out. Zeeb sees her go down and gets enraged and sends out some of his black fire at the wyverns and melts them on contact. Two green wisps leave from the melted wyverns and fly away. Scales goes to PMC and tries to stop the bleeding. Fyre shakes his head then gallops to her side. "Princess!" She tries to talk, but passes out from too much blood loss. "We have to stop the bleeding!" Scales tries to close the wound. "Fire! I'll hold the wound closed and you breathe fire on it to seal it!" Fyre says frantically. "Got it!" Fyre holds the wound closed and turns his head, "Now!" He breaths out a puff of green fire. Fyre hisses as it burns him burn keeps the wound closed. "Stop!" He does so. "Did it work?" "Yes, now get her on my back! We need to get her to the hospital!" He lifts PMC gently on his back. "I'll go tell Luna!" "Hurry!" He yells galloping off. With one beat of his wings, he is swiftly flying to Canterlot. Fyre starts to cry because of the pain in his hooves but keeps going. "Hang in there Princess!" She doesn't make a noise. He trips and falls. He screams in pain but gets back up and levitates her back on his back then gallops again. The wound slightly opens up and starts to leak out blood. He gallops faster. The hospital slowly comes into view. Fyre starts to run out of breath but keeps going. "Just a little longer Princess!" She still doesn't make any noise. He slams into the hospital and yells for help with his last bit of energy. Nurses and doctors rush to PMC and lift her on a bed. He watches as he slowly blacks out. Others carry him into a room and sets him on a cot. "Not too serious, he's exhausted." "But what about MoonCatcher?" "I.....don't know..." "Wyvern attack." Are Fyre's last words. Chapter 1: A New SpeciesBehind a beautiful set of stained glass windows that tell the history of the country, two figures are arguing about something important.
I wish I could teach him a lesson."
Chapter 4: Anger ManagementLater on that night, PMC is in her room, putting the finishing touches to the bow in her mane and tail.
