Rarity groaned, rolling onto her side. She was having the worst of days, having woken up with a blocked nose and pounding headache.

Even that slight movement felt like an ice pick driving mercilessly into her skull. At least none of her friends had come by- she would hate for them to see her in such a way. There was a knock at the door.

I can’t go to answer it, she thought, sniffing in an unladylike manner. And I can’t use my magic either. I don’t want any visitors anyway, and it can’t be a customer because the shop is closed. I’ll just pretend I’m not in.

The knock came again, harder, faster. She winced at the loud noise, pulling her covers up. The knocking continued for a while before eventually dying out. Good, the pony must have gone.

“Woah, you look horrible.”

Rarity jumped, shrieking with shock, then curling up in ball as pain shot through her head. A minute later she slowly stretched out again to see Rainbow Dash dangling through a half-open window she was sure she’d locked. “Rainbow!” she spluttered, before regaining her composure. “I’m sorry dear, but this really isn’t a good time.”

The Pegasus ignored her, flying in to hover round the over side of the bed, forcing Rarity to move a little to see her. “Are you sick?”

Rarity rolled her eyes. “Well of course I-” she broke off as her muzzle tingled. “A-A-CHOO!”

Rainbow Dash leapt out of the way to avoid getting sneezed on. “I’ll take that as a yes. Wait here.”

She huffed as her marefriend zoomed away, out of the door. Honestly, Rainbow Dash, why did you pick today of all days to visit. I want to be alone. She was suddenly aware of some snot smeared beneath her nose. Wiping it away with her hoof would be disgusting, she needed some tissues.

“I’m back!”

Rarity turned her head -carefully so as not to aggravate her headache- to hide her runny nose. A blue hoof reached down and turned her head back, carefully wiping her nose with a tissue. She blushed. “Thank you, Rainbow Dash.”

“No problem. I made you some sweet tea, apparently it’s good for colds.” Rainbow Dash held out a steaming mug, smiling.

“That was awful quick,” Rarity said, frowning. “What did you do?”

“Oh, I just turned the kettle really high,” she chuckled, sliding her arm behind Rarity’s neck, lifting her head and pouring some of the hot liquid into her mouth. “Now drink up.”

The unicorn smiled, leaning against Rainbow Dash’s chest as she carefullygave the drink to her. Perhaps she didn’t want to be alone after all.
