//-------------------------------------------------------// Drama -by StationPass- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 BON BON'S P.O.V Bon Bon heard Lyra's rather noticeable yawn, boring herself in what looked like, from Bon Bon's view, a dictionary. Why the hay is she reading a dictionary? Bon Bon rolled her eyes, before flicking her attention towards the sound of loud music. She turned to see Vinyl, swishing her tail around in circles and nodding her head to the beat of her music, which seemed to distract the entire class. For the first time in her entire life, Bon Bon hoped the teacher would come in soon, and Vinyl would turn her music off. But that didn't come soon. Bon Bon had a headache already, and had resorted to stuffing her hooves in her ears. "VINYL!" The hiss came from a grey filly, one Bon Bon had seen before, but never really spoken to. To the cream filly's surprise, Vinyl had actually heard the grey pony, and removed one of her earplugs with her telekinesis. "You wanna listen?" Without waiting for a response, she prodded the grey filly's ear with the earplug. The grey filly was clearly angry, but just seemed to settle to shake her head. Finally, the teacher came in. An orange unicorn mare with a blue and black mane and tail, who seated herself so that she had a perfect view of every motion everypony made. "Right, everypony. We will be working in groups of four today." Right after she spoke, ponies began to glance at their friends. But almost as if she wanted to be cruel, the teacher added, "But, I will decide who will be working with who." Groans of disapproval rose in the air. "Quiet, class!" The teacher growled. She began addressing the groups. "Group 1, Cloudchaser, Flitter, Minuette and Amethyst." She waited for the ponies to sit themselves down. "Group 2, Raindrops, Sea Swirl, Cloud Kicker and Daisy." Bon Bon noticed as she saw the same grey filly she'd seen before facedesk upon realising the certain unicorn she was being grouped with. "Hey yea! Taviiiii!" Vinyl squeezed the grey filly adoringly, much to her disapproval. Tavi? Is that her name? Is it maybe short for Tabitha or something? Bon Bon pondered. "And Group 3, Bon Bon, Vinyl Scratch, Octavia Melody, and Lyra Heartstrings." The teacher said finally. "Once you are settled into your groups, we will begin the lesson with a quiz, so that you get to work with your group. Teamwork, whatever you fillies call it." Bon Bon decided she would be the first to break the silence on the table. "So, er, what do you all think of the teacher? Pretty weird, huh?" Bon Bon tried to joke, which only resulted in her own awkward and nervous laughter. Vinyl quickly answered, "Buckin' hate her." she snorted, lifting her hind legs onto the desk. Octavia was next to reply, after casting a glare at Vinyl. "I'd be a lot more grateful towards her if she hadn't grouped me with Vinyl." Bon Bon laughed, and then turned her gaze to Lyra, who didn't look up from her dictionary-book. She just shrugged, before staring back at the contents of the book. "Um, Lyra? Why are you reading a dictionary?" Bon Bon queried, tipping her head, though she couldn't really read the text. Lyra used her telekinesis to close the book, and float it to the table behind her. "I'm not." she grumbled. Before Bon Bon could break the silence again, the teacher spoke. "Right. The quiz on Equestrian Trivia will begin. Let's start with some easy ones. Hooves up when you have the answer. Your table will get one point for each answer they get right. The idea is to work together, don't leave it to just one pony. You will have twenty seconds to discuss each question, and I'd like to see every hoof in the class up! So! Question 1: The princess of love's full name is...?" She began counting from ten. "Princess Love!" Vinyl guessed, not really caring. Octavia hissed at her, rolling her eyes at the unicorn's stupidity. "Princess Mi Amore Cadenza." She rolled her eyes. "Princess Love!" Vinyl sounded unconvinced, but still kept her head high. "Princess Mi Amore Cadenza!" Octavia called back. "You're giving it away to the class!" Lyra nudged Octavia. Vinyl glared at the mint-green unicorn. "You should be nudging me! Her name is Princess Love!" Bon Bon raised her hoof, but was beaten to it by Cloud Kicker, from Group 2. "Princess Mi Amore Cadenza." Came the answer. The fact that she pronounced it identically to the way Octavia did made Bon Bon flatten her ears in annoyance. "One point to Group 2!" The teacher yelled. "Question number 2! What is the name of the creature with a body of a lion, the tail of a scorpion, and the wings of a dragon?" Bon Bon knew this one. She raised her hoof determinedly after the twenty seconds passed. Octavia and Lyra also had their hooves raised. But Vinyl just leaned back in her chair, yawning. The teacher pointed her hoof toward Vinyl. "Vinyl, tell me." She ignored the raised hooves around the classroom. Snapping into focus, the unicorn began to search her mind. Octavia had already facehooved, knowing that the points were just slipping away. "I must say, why pick somepony as unintelligent as Vinyl?" she hissed out loud, showing her unkind side. Vinyl was obviously not fazed by the comment. "Uh, I dunno." The unicorn replied, kicking her hooves up onto the table once more. Seeing that the teacher demanded an answer, she rolled her eyes. "Uh, lemme think, would ya? A manticore, right?" "Correct!" Even the teacher sounded surprised. "One point to Group 3!" "Sweet!" Vinyl punched the air. Octavia dropped her ears in embarrassment and regret that she had insulted the unicorn. But her regret was lost when she jumped to conclude that Vinyl would soon shove it in her face. But she didn't even make a face. The four ponies high-hooved one another, a flurry of grey, white, green and cream meeting in the middle. "Questio-" Before she could go on, the bell rang for the lesson to end. She really was late... We only had like ten minutes of lesson! Bon Bon thought. The twelve ponies exited the classroom, Bon Bon still tagging along with Lyra, Octavia and Vinyl. It was break now, and Bon Bon didn't really have anypony to be with during it. "So, are we friends?" Bon Bon smiled at the other three ponies. "HECK YEAH!" Vinyl punched the air again. "Of course." Octavia smiled. "Um, okay." Lyra replied. "But is there anything we really have in common? I'd hate to have another empty conversation.." Bon Bon lifted her hoof to her chin. "Uh.." "None of us have cutie marks!" The filly bounced. Octavia flattened her ears. "Yes. But my hopes are high that I will receive mine soon." "I don't even have a talent.." Lyra muttered. "I doubt I'll get one soon." "Mine better have something to do with DUBSTEP!" Vinyl yelled, playing her music loudly again. "Dub...step?" Bon Bon tried to make her voice heard without shouting. "YEAH! DUBSTEP! THE BEST KINDA MUSIC EVERRR!" Vinyl replied. "Could you turn it down? My ears hurt.." Lyra sighed. "Yes. It is most irritating." Octavia even resorted herself to blocking her ears. "Right." Vinyl used her magic to switch it off, before giving a poker face. "But anyways, we can all work together to get our cutie marks, right?" Bon Bon smiled. "Most certainly!" Octavia smiled, eager to get her mark. "Okay.." Lyra agreed. "YEAHHH!" Vinyl put her hoof in the middle. "Settled then! We're all friends!" Bon Bon smiled, putting her hoof in the middle too.
