Celestia was normally a very calm and collected pony. She rarely raises her voice under almost any circumstance. Even if you threaten her, she would just tell you to simmer down in that natural, calm, motherly voice of hers. So if you see her disorganized, worried, stressed, or trotting a groove into the floor, you know that something must be awry.
Princess Luna however, has seen her elder sister like this more than once before. Once when her previous student, Sunset Shimmer, hadn't wrote back to her for four whole weeks, another time when her Solar guard showed up late for the grand galloping gala, and a third time when the cake she ordered hadn't come until an hour and a half after it was promised to be presented.
"DEAREST SISTER, WHAT WORRIES THOU?" Luna said in her royal canterlot voice by accident. Despite several boring lectures from Princess Cadance and Celestia Luna still manged to accidentally use it (often in the morning).
"Luna, remember our talk about the royal voice?" Celestia had stopped her pacing for a few moments to get the words out then continued pacing and taking the occasional sip of her coffee.
Luna cleared her throught and muttered, "Sorry Tia," She raises her voice slightly, "I just want to know what was wrong."
"But nothing is wrong dear sister, what makes you think that?" Celestia takes another sip of coffee while passing a stained window of Twilight Sparkle defeating King Sombra with her friends.
"Well, that coffee has been empty for the last eleven sips you have taken," Luna deadpanned.
Princess Celestia stops in her tracks to look into her coffee mug with a famous painting from Van Trough himself printed on the outside. Its as empty as a coffee mug could be. Not even the smallest stranded drop of the hot liquid remained.
"Also you are pacing all over the castle, and you haven't scraped you teeth yet."
Celestia rubbed her tounge over the front of her 'pearly whites' and felt that they had the slightest fuzzy scum on them. Her eyes shrunk from the fear of having scummy teeth.
"Okay Luna, I am a bit worried," Celestia turned to her little sister, "about Twilight and her friends since I sent them on a boat to the Kingdom of Camu to take notes on a important election campain," Celestia gave in and looked down at the white marble floor of the hallway.
"Why is that a problem?" Luna asked curiously.
"The Eternity's Crossing is the problem, Lulu. It has the most boat crashes and is said to be cursed," Celestia explained to her little sister about the area in the sea between Equestria and Camu.
"Oh sister, surely you don't beleive all those old legends."
"I don't but i can't help but wonder..." Celestia trailed off her words, then orders, "Well, little sister, don't you have a meeting with Shining armor about you're newest Lunar bat pony guards?"
"Ugh... Yes sis," Luna rolled her eyes.
"Well then, go downstairs to get breakfast then go see him!" Celestia beamed, exited on the inside about having new guards since the changling attack. Ever since that attack moons ago the royal guard was considered a joke by most ponies. Safety for the princesses fell since nopony wanted to join the royal guard.
Luna exited the hallway to go find the Royal kitchen. The moment she left Celestia rather hurriedly trotted down the hall in the other direction to go get a refill of her coffee, reashuring herself that her student would be fine over seas. But somthing told her that somthing was going to happen. Somthing dreadful.
Celestia slows down then eventually stops trotting completely. At the angle she was at a beam of sunshine beamed down on her and irritated her eye. She turned towards it out of curiosity. It was comeing through a stained glass window of her raising the sun and Luna lowering the other stars. Celestia paces over to the window and looked out it. In the far distance she could see a clearing which was Ponyville, the home of her student.
She exhaled audiably. Maybe things would turn out alright.
