Mr Allan's Arrival

I woke up on the floor of what I assumed to be a carpet. I was laying on my side, wondering how much I had drunk the night before. "Where am I? What happened?" I tried getting onto my feet, felt like I had no feet but I skipped that detail assuming it was a hangover. I suddenly got up onto all fours, I had a headache bigger than any headache I've ever had. I looked down and finally noticed that I didn't have feet only... ...green hooves. "Am I... ...am I on drugs or something?"

"Excuse thee but what is thou doing in my bed chamber"

I looked up to see a dark blue pony with wings and a horn, with a wavy night sky mane. I looked around to see I was in a bedroom, royal by the look of it. "If I'm going to be honest... ...I don't know." I didn't lie.

"Who are you?" asked the pony.

"I'm...." I paused for a second, for some reason I couldn't remember my own name. "...uh... ...I, don't know, do you know? Well you wouldn't otherwise you wouldn't have asked me who I was." I pondered on the thought of me possibly having amnesia, let it be long term or short it was a possibility, and a likely one at that.

The tall pony looked at me with confusion "What are those thing's on the floor around you?" I looked around me and saw a video camera, a small bag of what I hoped wasn't drugs, and my old pair of sunglasses.

"Well I believe this is a camera, I have no idea whats in that bag, and this is a ultra eye defense mechanism designed to protect against sunlight." I put them on, she looked at me with a questionable look. "It's a pair of sunglasses, they make me feel cool."

The pony gave me an un-amused look. "Do you know who I am?" she asked. I assumed it was a she, her voice sounded female.

"I'm...going to guess royalty." She looked at me as if I was an idiot. "Wait, no let me guess. A....Queen?" Her eye's widened.

"You...think I'm a Queen?" I was confused, was she royal, was she a Queen. "I'm... ...not a Queen."

I suddenly felt a little awkward "Well, you look like a Queen." I saw a small blush grow on her cheeks. "Is there any chance you can tell me who you are?"

"You really don't know who I am, do you?" She had a look of surprise on her face.

I felt like this was something obvious. "No."

She seemed a little confused. "Please follow me." she turned around and walked out the door behind her. I grabbed my things and followed her out the door.

Turns out I was in a tower because the stairway was spiral. I used the time to ask some questions. "So, where are we?"

"We are in Canterlot castle, did the royal drapes not give it away?"

I tilted my head, "Whats Canterlot?" She stopped and gave me a weird look, she then continued down the spiral staircase.

After a bit I finally noticed a strange feeling on my back, I turned my head to see two wings enclosed on my back. "I...I have wings."

We reached the bottom of the stairs and I saw a hallway leading to a much larger room. We walked into the room and I saw two thrones, one with a large white pony similar to the one I just met. "Sister, who is your friend?"

"I found him in my bed chamber, he..."

"Well Luna if your bringing that kind of guest over you could at least alert me so I don't enter you room in case..."

Her face went bright red "SISTER!!" I could quite clearly see a smirk on the older sister's face. "He doesn't even know who he is, I think he might have amnesia but I want to perform one last test to confirm this." Luna turned to me and pointed a hoof at her sister "Do you know who she is?"

I stared blankly at the older sister for no more than a good ten seconds until I replied "No, should I know her?"

The pony's looked at each other, then back at me. "Luna I need to talk to you for a minute, can you entertain yourself until for a minute?" I smiled.

"Trust me..." I put my sunglasses on "...entertaining myself wont be hard." Luna walked over to her sister on the other side of the room as I examined what was in the bag. At the top was a note.

If you are reading this then you have successfully transferred from human to pony, only I know of this, you must not let any'pony' know that you were a human. You currently have amnesia, that's because I wiped half of you memory so you don't screw up things until I get there. Certain events are due to happen over time, prepare for anything. One last thing, before I arrive feel free to enjoy yourself.

When I finished the letter I looked up to see the two pony's were sill talking so I shoved the letter into the bottom of the bag. I looked at the next thing in the bag, it was a ring, an engagement ring. I chose to avoid it considering I didn't think it was important. Next was four extra memory cards for the camera, from there I guessed I had to record stuff so I left them in the bag. The last thing I found was about 500 gold coins. I felt rich.

I closed the bag and up and looked at the camera, it already had a memory card in it with no memory so I had plenty of stuff to record. I looked a my surroundings with the camera to check if it was working, seemed like it was in working condition. I closed it and saw the two sister's approaching me. "Luna and I have agreed that you have a case of amnesia."

Luna looked at me "We also believe your amnesia is being forced by another." The older sister started writing a note.

"I'm Princess Celestia and this is Princess Luna, whatever happened to you is something we've never encountered and I believe that my student Twilight Sparkle may be able to study this strange new magic and eventually find a cure, though it may take a long time."

I wasn't really reacting the way they expected me to "So your going to ask her to take me in until a cure for my amnesia is found? I guess I can handle a few weeks of not knowing who I am."

Celestia shook her head "When I say a long time, I mean anywhere between two months and thirty years."

I sighed "Of course, can't ever have it the easy way. So where is this Twilight Sparkle?"

"My student lives in ponyville, I'll send you there by train as me and Luna are preparing for the Grand Galloping Gala."

I gave here a confused look "Is....that some sort of....party or something?"

Celestia smiled "Yes, here have this ticket to get in. I'm sure you'd enjoy yourself." Her horn suddenly started glowing and a ticket to the Grand Galloping Gala floated towards me. I opened the bag and it floated in.

"Is there any chance someo....(clears throat)...somepony can show me to the train station?" I don't often ask for help, mostly because people help me without permission.

Luna looked to her left through a doorway and signaled someone to approach. In entered a big pony with blue hair with a light blue streak, he was wearing gold plated armor so I assumed he was some sort of guard. "This is Shinning Armor, the captain of the royal guard, he will show you too the train station, answer any questions about where you are going and what you are doing, and inform you of anything you need to know about Twilight and her friends. Captain I expect you to escort this stallion to the train station." The 'stallion' nodded and turned to me.

"Does he have a name Princess?" I thought for a second, what would be a good name for me while I was here. After a few seconds I remembered part of my name.

"You can call me... ...Allan." They seemed to except the name. "Nice to meet you good sir." I raised my hoof up to 'hoof shake' he accepted it happily.

"We should get back to our duties, we shall see you at the Gala." Celestia and Luna then walked away.

Shining Armor led the way as I was examining the area. It was surprisingly posh. I got bored fast "So what should I know about this Twilight?"

Shinning Armor turned his head "Well I guess you should know that she's kind of a book worm."

"Is she going to have a guest room or am I going to have to sleep on the sofa?"

"I think you'd have to sleep on the sofa, I don't think she has a guest bedroom."

I sighed "Hope it's a comfy sofa."

He stopped and turned to me "Look, Twilight is my little sister, you better treat her with respect, or you'll have to deal with me."

I felt a bit scared, he was bigger than me and was captain of a guard force.

We finally reached the train station and Shinning Armor gave me some money for a ticket. I went to buy a ticket and got on the train, I took a seat next to a cyan unicorn mare. She looked me up and down "Hi, I'm Lyra." she offered me a hoof shake.

I accepted the hoof shake, "Nice to meet you Lyra, I'm Allan." I was happy I didn't have to wait the whole trip in complete silence.

The train started to move "So your headed to ponyville too?"

"Yeah, I was told that Twilight Sparkle would take me in until further notice, why you headed to ponyville?"

She thought for a second "Well I'm moving there, I visited a friend there a few times before and I decided it's the perfect place for me. I've already got a house and my stuff is all there I just had to come back and get my study papers."

I grew curious "What are you studying?"

"Oh it's nothing you'd be interested in."

"Why not, you never know."

She gave me a grin and grabbed her suitcase "If you want me to be honest, I've created a possible theory of two legged creatures called Humans." My eye's widened.

"Did you just say.....Humans?"

"I know it's silly but..." I stopped her, if she knew about the human race then she could help me remember parts of my memory.

"It's not silly."

Her eye's widened "It's not?"

"No, because I know for a fact that there are infinite possibility's, making your theory a possibility. I'd like to know more about this theory of yours."

She seemed very surprised I wanted to know about this "Well of course, let's start from there body structure..."

We both started discussing about Humans and ended up talking for the whole train ride. By the time we reached the train station we had just finished the subject about basic lifestyles.

"Looks like the train has stopped."

We got of the train, Lyra had here suitcase on her back "I'm headed off to my new house, Twilight's library is the giant tree down that street." She pointed her hoof.

"Thanks Lyra, hope to see you around."

She grabbed my shoulder "Wait, maybe we can meet for lunch sometime?"

This seemed like a good opportunity to make my first friend here "Sure where?"

She smiled "Sugar cube corner this Saturday at 12:30 lunch time."

"Got it see you then."

Lyra then trotted off with a happy look on her face. I walked down the street she told me to go down.

After a few minutes I saw a giant tree library and quickly rushed over to it. I knocked on the door, I could hear some chatter inside "Is that him spike, go answer it while I check for memory spells."

The door opened and a small lizard creature was there to greet me. "Hi are you the pony that Princess Celestia sent?"

"Yeah, you can call me Allan, are you a friend of Twilight's?"

"Yep, I'm Spike the dragon."

"Well Spike the dragon, nice to meet you. I'm guessing Twilight is already searching for a way to get my memory back."

Spike nodded and let me in, Shinning Armor wasn't kidding when he said Twilight was a book worm, she live's in a library! I saw Twilight using magic to search through books. She stopped and turned to me "Hello, I'm Twilight Sparkle, the pony who plans on getting your memory back." She levitated a book in front of her and looked in it "Before anything I need to scan you for the magic class used on you." my body was engulfed in a purple aura. I didn't feel different "Wow, whoever forced amnesia on you is using class X spells." I gave her a confused look. "It means the pony who gave you amnesia is as powerful as an Alicorn, the Princesses should know of this."

I thought of something "If your going to tell the Princesses, you might as well wait till the Gala so that way you'd have studied it a bit more."

She looked at me and thought for a second "Good point, I'll study your condition until the Gala then ask for the Princesses advice for further study." She signaled me to follow her, as we walked towards another doorway she took a quick glance out a window, it was sunset. "It's getting late, let me show you to your room."

"Let me guess, do I get a sofa?"

"You can have the sofa if you want but that would mean I spent an hour setting up your bed for nothing."

I gave a sigh of relief "So you do have a spare bed, for sleepovers I'm guessing?"

"Yes, precisely." We entered the next room and my new bed was clearly set up well and organized.

"Hey tomorrow is Friday do you wanna meet my friends, were meant to meet at the field to watch Rainbow dash show off some new moves."

I thought for a second, wouldn't hurt to get out and meet new pony to make friends with. "Sure, I can bring my pair of sunglasses and my camera." She looked confused when I said camera "This thing, I use it to document stuff by recording it threw visual moving images." She used her magic to try and look at it but I didn't let go and gave her an glare. She took the hint that it was mine and decided to leave me to unpack.

"Okay then, goodnight." She left the room closing the door behind her. I started to unpack, first I put the camera's memory cards in the bedside cabinet along with the wedding ring. I put the bag and the camera on the cabinet, the only thing left I wanted to examine being the note.

I placed the note on the bed, in doing so I noticed there was some writing on the back. I lied down on the bed and focused my attention to the other side of the note.

Chance's are if you have done things as I expected then you are currently reading this note while you are currently on your new bed in Twilight's library, that's good because I missed a few things out in the last bit of writing and I can't erase some things. First of all, I am generating my ponified form but sending myself to Equestria may be harder then when I sent you so I'm going to send you more letter's through the local letter service of ponyville if I require anything important. Secondly, you need to help Twilight and her friends during the events I mentioned as it turns out when I spawned you, a new Element of... ...something, was created in you, this element will bring bad luck to the elements of harmony in a chaotic event, you must make sure you fill that bad luck with your element so the Elements of Harmony can succeed in there tasks.

Third and most importantly, no emotional attachments, getting too deep into an emotional attachment will distract you from a from your tasks. Further messages will inform you any new developments, tasks and/or instructions. Good luck - CLM

I then put the note down and went to sleep, wondering what CLM stood for...

Introductions

I woke up in my bed slightly disoriented. The smell of fresh apples and hay reach my nose as I got out my bed, I noticed I still had the note out and put it in the bedside cabinet's bottom draw so nopony would find it. I proceeded to follow the smell of apples and hay, assuming I could eat hay. I opened the door to Spike had prepared a small breakfast.

"Well your up early." The young dragon turned his head to me.

"I thought I might as well get up early to make you and Twilight some breakfast considering this is your first real day here." I walked up to the table and sat down in front of a plate of hay and an apple "Dig in!"

I proceeded to eat some of the hay. Twilight started to come down the stairs "That smells great Spike, good job!" Spike gave a proud look as he took his seat and started to dig into his food. Twilight sat down and used her magic to use a fork to pick out pieces of hay.

After we finished our breakfast's Twilight told me to get ready to head to the field so I went into my room. I grabbed my camera and put on my sunglasses, I was never more ready for something. "I'm ready!"

Twilight saw me and noticed I had my camera "Are you going to bring that to document this?"

"Yeah, while I'm getting memory's back, I might as well get some new memory's right?"

Twilight smiled "Your going to make friends here fast. Lets go."

We walked through ponyville towards the field just at the edge of town we chose to pass the time by talking "Sorry about yesterday, I never asked for your name."

"Well you can just call me Allan for the time being."

Twilight gave me a weird look "That's not a normal name for a pony."

"It's just a substitute until I can remember my real name. Hey do you by any chance know a pony named Lyra?"

Twilight sighed "Yeah I do know her, she's been trying to get me to put a copy of her book about 'humans' into the library."

"Why haven't you put it in yet?"

"Because I told her my Library only contains story's and fact's, and her book is completely based on a theory. I told her 'If it isn't a fact it's Fiction' then she claimed it's not fiction, but then I reminded her it's not a fact it's a theory."

"Well you should consider taking that book, you know so I can read it."

Twilight looked shocked "Why would you want to read such a silly book?"

"Well I know that there are infinite possibility's, that alone proves her theory is a possibility. Plus we met on the train and I got interested in the concept."

Twilight didn't judge "Why don't you ask her for a copy of the book yourself next time you see her?"

"Alright so I'll ask her tomorrow at lunch when we meet."

Twilight widened her eye's "Wow, you've only been here one day and your already dating somepony."

I gave her a 'seriously' look.

"It's not a date it's just a friendly get together."

Twilight giggled a bit "I was just joking."

I rolled my eye's "So who are these friends of your's?"

"Well there's Rarity, she's kind of a fashionista."

I sighed below my breath "There's also Applejack, she works on an apple orchard. Fluttershy who lives in a cottage as an animal caretaker. There's Pinkie Pie, she kind of a party animal, quick note when you meet here don't be surprised if she gasps and runs away, she's just planning a party for you."

"Great, this should be interesting. You mentioned a Rainbob Dashpants or something yesterday?"

Twilight giggled a bit "You mean Rainbow dash, she's a bit like you from what I've seen."

"Well then we should get along just fine."

We arrived at the field, I was still wearing my sunglasses and turned on the camera, I saw five other pony's all talking. We walked up to them, Twilight was the first to speak. "Hi girls, it's good to see you again."

The one with the hat was the first to react "Well howdy Twilight, who's your friend?" this got the attention of some of the other girls.

"This is Allan, Princess Celestia sent him here for me to study his strange case of amnesia."

The Pink one, who I assumed was Pinkie Pie, took a glance at me then gasped and zoomed away leaving nothing behind but dust.

The white one with purple hair introduced herself "Hello darling, nice to meet you, I'm Rarity."

"Pleasure to meet you madam." I replied.

She seemed pleased with my manner's next pony to introduce themselves was...

"Howdy there pardner, I'm Applejack." She extended her hoof for a hoof shake. I happily accepted the hoofshake and almost broke my hoof in the process.

Next was the yellow one who looked very shy "Um....hi...I'm Fluttershy..."

I could barely hear her "Uh, what was that?"

"Um, I'm Fluttershy."

I felt ever so slightly awkward "Wait, your Fluttershy, Twilight told me your an animal caretaker."

"Well yes actually I own a cottage outside of town where I take care of all my cute animal friends." She didn't seem very shy after such a nice introduction.

"Lovely, I should visit some time, I'd love to see some of the cute animals." She smiled and moved over to Rarity and Applejack.

We finally reached the one, the only Rainbow dash, I turned to the last pony, I saw a Rainbow maned Pegasus mare walk up to me. I don't think I ever saw anything more beautiful before. "Sup, I'm Rainbow dash." I was so dumbstruck by the amazing pony I had forgotten to speak. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I snapped myself out of my state and took my sunglasses off to greet her properly.

"Uh... ...hi, Rainbow dash I'm uh....(clears throat)...I'm Allan, nice to meet ya." She gave me a confused look.

"Oookaaaay, sure nice to meet you too. Ready to watch me do some awesome moves?"

I just nodded. She then flue off to continue practicing. When she left I start hitting myself on the head "Stupid, stupid, stupid..." The camera recorded the whole thing so I knew for curtain it worked.

Twilight came up to me " Looks like somepony has a crush!" I started blushing.

"W...WHAT! No I don't, what made you think that?"

Twilight had a large smirk on her face "Well I'm pretty sure the fact that your jaw dropped once you saw her was a bit of a giveaway. Oh you were also speechless when she talked to you. And to top it all off your blushing!"

My ears pinned back "I...I...I'm just going to go watch and record Rainbow dash showing off her flying skills now." I got the heck out of there before she pressed any further.

For the rest of the morning we all watched Rainbow dash practice her flying skills. I recorded the whole thing so I could remember it later on. After it was over, I prepared to leave when Twilight and Rainbow dash walked up to me "Hey Allan, I'm headed into town to get a few things so Rainbow dash here offered to walk you home."

"Yeah then we can talk for a bit."

I blanked out for a split second. "Uh... ...yeah should give us time to talk." Twilight wrote something on a note and gave it to me then left.

Now's your chance, get to know her.

I sighed "This should be interesting."

Me and Rainbow dash were walking through Ponyville in awkward silence. Dash decided to start a conversation "So what's all this about you having amnesia?"

"I don't know, I woke up in canterlot with a few things and I could only remember a few thing's, like how to talk."

Rainbow dash seemed to accept the response "So what's that thing, you were using the whole time when I was doing my moves."

"Uh, well this thing is called a video camera. Capable of recording real time events and stuff."

Rainbow dash seemed a little interested "So you recorded the whole thing?"

"Well I thought it was something worth keeping as a memory. Correct me if I'm wrong but is it rare to see you showing off you flying skills?"

"Well I usually only ask friends to come and see me practice, I actually don't show off that often. So you wanna remember the first time you saw me doing my awesome flying skills?"

"Yes... (puts on glasses) ...yes I do."

Rainbow dash seemed to like me "Your kinda cool, hey, when you get some more spare time do you wanna hang out?"

I didn't expect such an awesome pony to suddenly offer a friendship with ME "YES! I mean... (clears throat) ...sure why not."

"Great, oh, looks like we've reached the library. See ya later Allan." Rainbow dash then flue of and I went inside.

After about an hour Twilight got home and quickly organized all of her things. She told me to wait in my room until she had the right spell. When she entered the room she had a book about class X magic, she looked at me "Alright I need you close you eye's and focus on a memory, lets say when you first woke up."

I closed my eye's and pictured when I woke up, I was in Princess Luna bedroom laying on the floor. "Now from there I can try and unlock pieces of you mind that will allow me search for your memory. This seems easier than I... ...wait WHAT!"

Suddenly I could start to hear a voice "STAY OUT SPARKLE!!! I'm blocking his memory's for a REASON!" I fell to the ground in pain, there were two pony's in my head and it was giving me a strong headache.

"GET OUT!" I yelled in pain. Twilight noticed how much pain I was going through when she entered my mind.

I opened my eye's and I was on the floor "I'm so sorry, I didn't expect to find that somepony else was still connected. This is going to be a big setback."

I got onto my hooves and rubbed my head "Your not going to do that again are you?"

Twilight started looking through her book "No, if I tried entering you mind like that with another pony still connected, then we'd risk you going brain dead."

"Wow, that's... ...that's quite a punishment."

Twilight continued to look through her book until she stopped on a specific page "Right here it say's the only way I can get into mind with making you go brain dead is with a class X Subconscious spell, the problem is it's a spell that only Princess Luna knows of and even she had to write it down to remember it."

"So we just ask her for the spell at the Gala."

"It's not that simple, Luna hid all spells she created after she became Nightmare moon, so chance's are we'd have to go on quite a journey once we find out where it is." She closed the book shut and looked at me in worry "If there is another pony in your mind then they have the power to...." she paused.

"Twilight, what are they capable of doing?"

She took a deep breath "The pony connected to your mind is capable of draining all life from your body, Killing you."

I suddenly felt fear rush through my body, I gulped at the thought of another capable choosing whether I live or die. "Then lets just hope they don't kill me then, shall we?"

"Yeah"

We decided to do nothing but hope for the best until we could get the subconscious spell. I decided that to pass the time I would look at the footage I recorded with the camera. For about thirty minutes I watched Rainbow dash doing dive bombs and loops. Until I heard a knock at the door. I peeked out of my room to see spike talking to a cross-eyed mail mare, she gave him a letter and he closed the door. He then started walking towards my room. I opened the door "Hey Allan it's a letter messaged to you."

I took the letter and saw the initials CLM on the back "Hey spike if you get anymore letter's like this, don't tell Twilight about them, just bring them to me, okay?"

"Sure." Spike then went back to what he was doing before. I went back into my room and laid down on my bed. I opened the note, it was one sided this time.

If you have received this letter then you are still doing things well. I have a few programming error's preventing me from making the transition, these error's are being created by a device, it is a shard of solid purple ooze, I don't know how it got there but what I do know is it was created from the void. The gap in between the Human world, and Equestria. Once you complete this task I will give you more information on the void.

Task: Destroy Void Shard.

One last thing, nopony except you is aloud to see or touch the shard.

I put the note with the other note in the bottom draw of the bedside cabinet. Hidden. It was only after lunch so I had time to search for this 'Void Shard'. I grabbed my camera and 'galloped' outside. I wouldn't have time to check the whole town on foot so I decided it was time to test out my new wings.

My wings spread out, ready for take off. I started flapping my wings and started to hover off the ground, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It was actually quite easy, I didn't stress or get tired so I took it to the next level and started flying higher.

Once I got high enough I started scanning the area with my camera for the Void Shard. I stopped when I saw a small bit of purple steam coming from the field. The field was an open area, making the shard easy to spot. I flue over to the field as fast as I could.

In a mater of minutes I was at the field, I landed next to a tree and looked around for the shard. "Where could this thing be?" My question was answered when I looked behind the tree.

There it was...

It was giving off a strange glow as I got closer to it "Better get this over with." I raised a hoof and slammed it down, crushing the crystal. When I looked it had turned into a small cloud of smoke that disappeared to who knows where. I didn't think of it as important and decided to head back to the library when all of a sudden as I was turning around I bumped into the cross-eyed mail mare.

"Hello, I've got a letter here for Mr Allan."

I dusted myself off and turned to her "Yep that's me." She hoofed me the letter "Thank you."

"No problem, by." She then flue off. I looked at the letter and it said CLM on the back.

"Wow, that was.... ....fast." I opened it and read the letter.

Good job destroying the shard, it when you broke it the error disappeared and I can continue connecting to my Po... ...how do I undue this when I say it. Never mind. The point is you deserve a clear explanation of the void.

The void is the space between Humans and pony's, I wan't careful when I sent you to Equestria, in fact I was quite rushed that I sent you on a suicide path across the void, the process was interrupted when you were half way through the void, I don't know what happened to you for the five hours you weren't connected but when I reconnected you, you were barely alive. I didn't have any time to waste, once you had reconnected I linked you back on course and you appear'd Equestria with your new Element. I wont make the same mistake because I plan on taking my time with my transfer. Good luck, I will stay in contact. - CLM

I put the note in my mouth and started the flight home.

I woke up the next morning, I checked the clock it, it was nine in the morning. "Must have slept in again." I got out of bed and went into the main room. Spike had prepared breakfast again, this time it was a daffodil and daisy sandwich. Surprisingly good. Twilight told me to get ready for a stabilization spell. She claimed it would prevent the pony connected to my mind from causing any psychological damage. It would be a weekly routine.

She placed her horn on my head and I suddenly felt weird, it didn't take long then she pulled back. I didn't feel different. "So it doesn't have much of an effect right now but that's because your not in a psychologically bad state. I'm going to perform a test that might give you an image of who's connected to your mind."

I took a deep breath.

"Alright, this shouldn't take a minute." Twilight's horn started to glow and a purple orb appeared in front of me. "Stare into the orb for me please." I stared into the orb and I saw an image of myself, except it wasn't me. He had Green and red hair and a dark orange coat, His eye's were predator like for some reason. But I was sure that he was not me.... ....right?

Lunch with Lyra

I backed up from the orb, Twilight noticed this "What do you see?" I didn't want to say anything, I hit the orb and it turned into dust. "Hey! Why did you do that?" Twilight then noticed I was slightly worried "What is it?"

"I don't wanna talk about it." I looked at the clock on the wall '10:30am' "I better get ready to meet Lyra for lunch." I went back into my room and grabbed the bag of gold coins on the table then headed out.

I walked out the front door to the sight of a beautiful sunny day, I had no idea where sugar cube corner was so I planned on searching for it with the two hours I had to spare.

Ironically enough it actually took me two hours to find sugar cube corner, outside I saw Lyra with here saddle bag. When she saw me she smiled and walked up to me "Hi Allan, it's good to see you again."

I gave her a smile "Good to see you too Lyra." after greeting each other we walked into sugar cube corner. We walked up to the counter and were greeted by a unicorn stallion with a lemon coat and a bright orange mane.

"Well hello there Lyra, it's good to see you again. How have you been?"

"Hello Mr Cake, I've been great thanks for asking." replied Lyra.

Mr Cake looked at me "Oh Lyra I didn't know you started dating again." A large blush suddenly overcame me and Lyra.

"H...Huh? W...were, not dating. He's just a friend." Mr Cake let out a slight chuckle.

"I'm just kidding, so what can I get for ya?"

"We'll have a muffin each. I also would like a strawberry milkshake please." Lyra asked.

"You got it, go take a seat while you wait." Mr Cake then walked into the kitchen. Me and Lyra looked around until we found a table for two next to a window.

We sat down and chatted while we waited. "So Allan, how are things over at Twilight Library?"

"Well it's a little small but I've managed for the last two days." Lyra seemed nervous.

"Well if you ever feel like you need more room, you can always come to my place if you want."

"I'll think about it." An offer like that quite clearly showed she liked me.

Lyra was very nice the whole time. "Twilight told me you had a book about your studies on humans."

Lyra suddenly grew more happy "Why yes, I do, I have a copy right here actually." She opened her saddle bag and pulled out the said book. "I only have five copies at the moment, do you want this copy?"

"Lyra, I would love a copy of your book." She smiled and gave me the book. The Title read: Humans, The Legend,. Volume 1. "You have more?"

"Well I'm working on Volume 3 right now."

Our order's arrived and we enjoyed the rest of lunch talking.

Meanwhile....

P.O.V: CLM

I examined the terminal, he was making friends, this was bad "I told him no emotional attachments, this is not good." I looked around and picked up a metal box. "Maybe a creature from the Void will make you come to your senses." I flipped open a lid on the box and pressed a big red button. "Hopefully you will come to your senses before the Void creature makes you."

I turned back to the console and saw a spiral of dark lightning clouds start forming over ponyville. "Good luck, let the dead of the Void speak for me."

We finished our lunch and I chose to pay for it because... ...well, that's what the guy does right? Anyway, we left sugar cube corner. "Hey, I'm headed home, do wanna maybe come over for drink?"

I thought about it for a second "Well, I don't have anything else planned so..." before I could finish my sentence a bolt of red Lightning hit the ground in between us, dragging our attention to the sky.

Lyra looked surprised "I don't remember the cloud teams reporting a lighting storm today." her look of surprise turned into a look of horror.

The clouds started to quickly form a Spiral in the clouds, Lightning was clashing creating ruptures in the clouds. I noticed a large circle shape at the heart of the spiral.

All of a sudden I saw flashing images and a loud ringing, the images looked like the Void Shard except it was shaped differently. It started to hurt and I fell to the ground in pain, Lyra saw this and hurried up to me to help. "ALLAN! Are you okay?!" I shook my head, she didn't know what to do.

I was in so much pain "So, cold...." I felt like I was laying on 100 ice packs.

Next thing I know I feel a pair of hooves wrap around me, I open my eye's to see Lyra hugging me "Your gonna be alright." suddenly the flashing and the ringing stopped. I got up to see Lyra still hugging me.

"Lyra I'm okay now, you can let go." Lyra opened her eye's and noticed she was still hugging me. She let go and backed up a bit.

"Sorry, I was just worried is all." I saw a slight blush grow on her face.

I turned back to the sky and saw a purple blur launch from the circle in the clouds in the direction of the town plaza. "That can't be good." I started heading towards the plaza.

"HEY! Where are you going?" I turned to see Lyra right in front of me.

"Somepony's got to see what's going on."

Lyra grinned "Well your not going anywhere without me."

"It could be dangerous, you know that right?"

Lyra nodded "Everything's dangerous..." She started trotting ahead "...all we do is take risks."

Me and Lyra galloped towards the plaza, some other pony's were already there investigating the crashed object. We arrived at the impact zone. It had created a small crater in the ground. It was another Void Shard, but it was bigger than last, about the size of a pony. As I got closer it began to glow, I raised a hoof to touch it when Lyra's hoof grabbed mine.

"So you just plan on touching it and seeing what happens?"

"It sounds dumb but the results can sometimes be good." Lyra let go of my hoof and I touched the Shard. Upon contact with the Void Shard a strange ooze started to pour out of it. Me and Lyra backed up as the Ooze started taking a shape of a pony around the Shard.

The 'Void Pony' solidified the purple ooze into a skin type matter. A pair of glowing eye's opened on the Void pony and it turned to me and Lyra.

The other pony's had backed up to a safer distance. The Void pony looked up and let out a high pitched scream stunning me and Lyra. I looked up to see the circle in the Spiral had disappeared leaving the clouds to continue clashing. I looked down to see the Void pony stop screaming.

"The results can be good?" yelled Lyra sarcastically.

"Sometimes, sometimes they can be good."

The Void pony suddenly charged me, I waited for the right moment and jumped over it with the help of my wings. It slid to a stop and turned to charge me again. This time I jumped before he reached me and used my wings to keep me in the air. When he was right below me I dropped and kicked him with my hind legs. Launching him face first into the ground skidding across the dirt floor. When he got up I could see a part of his skin was missing and the Void Shard inside him was vulnerable.

The Void Pony got back up, but instead of turning to me for another attack it turned to Lyra and started charging. Lyra's horn started glowing and she pointed it at the Void pony. I could only watch and see what happened next. Lyra suddenly fired a burst of magic at the Void Pony, the shot hit it in the neck forcing it to fall on it's side.

Me and Lyra quickly galloped up to it to see a large portion of the skin it generated was missing and the Void Shard was vulnerable. Lyra looked at me as I raised my hoof "What are you doing?" I slammed my hoof down onto the Shard smashing it into purple smoke. Like last time the smoke disappeared, the Void pony's skin material just disintegrated into nothing.

I sat down and took a few deep breath, I looked at Lyra "How did you know that would work?"

"Lucky guess." I couldn't tell her I had broken a Shard before, otherwise she could get suspicious.

I looked to the crowd to see Twilight approaching us. "What in the name of Celestia happened here?"

Lyra turned to Twilight with a satisfied look "Well the clouds somehow moved themselves into a spiral formation and a scary purple crystal came down and created the form of a pony and tried attacking us."

Twilight gave her an unbelieving look then turned to me "Same question."

"Same answer, Lyra was telling the truth." Twilight looked at me in shock.

"Okay then, where is this pony?"

"Allan defeated it and saved us." Lyra then hugged me.

Twilight looked at me "You stopped a magical shape-shifting crystal?" I nodded. "I'm just going to take your word for it then."

Lyra ended the hug "So..." I turned to her "...do you still wanna come over for that drink?" I thought about it for a second, something like this would undoubtedly be in one of CLM's letters arriving soon. I had to get home to find out what happened.

"Sorry Lyra, I need to get home."

Lyra's happy expression quickly ended and she looked sad "Oh....okay...well, I'll be over tomorrow." I nodded.

"See you tomorrow Lyra." I then galloped towards the library without another word.

P.O.V: CLM

"Wise choice." I watched the monitor as he ran towards Twilight's library. "I better get back to my job as well, sending letter." I pressed the button to send the letter and then I walked over to the Avatar device. "Until the full Transition is capable of being done, I'll have to use you." I stepped into the machine and closed my eye's.

"Let's see what Equestria has in store for me today."

I opened the door to my room and saw two letter's laying on the bed. One said 'read last', and both had CLM on the back. I opened the first one.

I warned you, no emotional attachments. I opened a hole in the Void letting in a Void creature. What I wasn't expecting was it to be a Void Shard. The creatures of the Void are not to be taken likely, you beat the Void pony yes but the next time you encounter something from the Void, it will have learnt from the last encounter. Never use the same tactic twice against the creature's of the Void. You cannot get too emotionally attached to the other pony's around you either. Be sure to read the next letter I've sent as well. - CLM

I put the letter into the 'note draw' with the others and then opened the other letter.

The Grand Galloping Gala is approaching and I have no tasks predicted for you to do. So this is one of those rare occasions where you are aloud to have an emotional attachment for the one night... ...does that make sense, god I hope so... ...I recommend you get yourself a date for the event and take a guess who the only six mare's that have a ticket are? Oh, and I think I know who you are going to pick. But the Gala's not for a week, so you better get friendly with her if your going to ask her to go with you. Good luck, see you at the Gala. - CLM

There was allot in that letter that shocked me. The first thing being that I was aloud to get a date for the Gala, but the fact I only had one week to ask was troubling. The second being that his opinion completely changed because of one event. And the third was that he put 'see you at the Gala' at the end of the letter.

If I was going to the Gala I was going to need a date, I grabbed my sunglasses, camera, and bag of 495 'bits'. The first thing I planned on doing find Rainbow dash.

I heard Twilight come in, I rushed out of my room "Twilight!"

Twilight turned to me "What is it Allan? Are you okay?"

"Have you seen Rainbow dash anywhere today?" Twilight seemed slightly surprised that I was in such a hurry to find her until she remembered the day before.

"Are you going to ask her out?" she said jokingly.

"No, I'm going to ask her if she would like to be my date at the Grand Galloping Gala."

Twilight was shocked that she was correct(ish) "Your just going to ask her strait away?"

"Well, not really, I plan on getting close enough to her so that way, when I ask her my chances are higher."

"And you plan on doing this in one week?"

"Pretty much, yeah."

"Then how about I help increase your chances? I'll organize a few things for you and Rainbow dash to do during the week and you can use these opportunities to get closer to her."

Twilight's sudden offer to help was good enough for me. "Sounds like a plan, but I'm still going to find her today."

Twilight nodded "She was having a competition with Applejack at Sweet apple acres last time I saw her." I didn't waste time as it was closing on sunset. I exited the the over sized tree and flew into the sky looking around for Sweet Apple acres.

When I saw the acres I dashed at top speed towards it. As I saw approached I saw Rainbow dash leaving through the entrance, I landed right next to her making her jump a little. "Wow, nice flying there."

"Thanks, but it's barely as good as your flying."

Rainbow blushed a bit "So you here for a reason or just to compliment my flying skills?"

"I'm actually here to ask you if you wanted to hang out a bit this week?"

"Sure, I haven't really got any other plans for the week." She wrote down her address on a bit of paper and gave it to me "Pick me up when you want to hang out."

"Got it, can't wait." Rainbow dash grinned then dashed away. The opportunity is in sight, now I've gotta take it.

Meanwhile....

P.O.V: CLM

I opened my eye's and got out of the Avatar device, "Getting closer, tomorrow I move from Manehattan to Canterlot."

I walked over to the nearest monitor "Void barrier at maximum strength, ain't nothing getting into Equestria." I walked up to the console monitoring Allan "Getting ready for the Gala I see, when I find Canterlot, I probably should too."

The console started to flicker "What the hell?" I pressed the refresh button and the screen turned off "WHAT THE HELL?!" I was about to restart the system when the image of a void pony appeared on screen.

"Their waiting... ...for something." I backed away from the monitor continuously wary of the screen. I turned away from the screen and exited the room not noticing that the image had moved from one computer... ...to another.

The Gala

P.O.V: CLM

I entered the room with determination, the first stage of my plan was about to take effect. "First, the Gala, next Shadow, third..." I was interrupted by a beeping noise coming from a terminal. I rushed over to it and examined the situation. "What is it now?" My eye's widened at the information "Looks like I'm going to have to enter 'Critical state 3', and hope it doesn't get worse."

I walked over to another terminal and opened a line of three switches, I flicked on up and walked over to the transfer mechanism "That Negative Element of his is starting to react. All I can do is hope he can control it until I can close the Void."

"If we're going to take the long road to Canterlot, then where's our ride?" I looked along the road and saw Canterlot in the distance.

Twilight levitated an apple onto the middle of the road "It's right here." Her horn started to glow and the apple started raising into the air and the and in a flash it had turned into an apple carriage.

"Oh, because that makes sense. Who's going to pull it?" I waited for an answer then noticed they were looking at me. "Oh... ....fair enough, I guess."

I walked in front of the carriage and placed the strap on. The girls entered the carriage and we started moving.

On the way there me and Spike talked for a bit "So Spike, what do you plan on doing at the Gala?"

"Oh it's going to be so good, I know a ton of stuff we can do. I gotta show everypony around when we get there. OH I just can't wait, we can't waste time." He lashed a surprisingly harsh through the rope.

"AH! What was that for?"

"Oops, sorry, got a bit over exited."

We continued for a short while until we reached the gates of canterlot castle. I unstrapped myself from the carriage and walked into view of the carriage door. Spike opened the door and Six ponies in beautiful dresses came out and stared at the castle. "Here it is, the Gala." they all said.

Rainbow Dash walked up to me "Hey, I'm just going to be over at the Wonderbolt section of the party for a bit. I promise you a dance later, sound cool?"

"Of course."

The mane six then rushed of to do their own things. I turned to Spike "I'm going to go look around for a bit." Spike then walked off towards the castle as I headed towards Canterlot Gardens.

I walked up to the edge of a large maze "I wonder what prize I'd get for going through it." I was about to walk in until.

"Hey! I wouldn't go in there if I were you." I turned my head to see what looked like a Royal guard Unicorn in, very specific armor. "It's very easy to get lost in there. Trust me."

"Unless you have wings." I said pointing out my wings.

"Oh... ...good point." He had dark blue fur, and a black and blue mane. All the guards I had seen were either white or black fur in basic guard armor.

"What kind of guard are you?"

He seemed hesitant to ask "I'm, not authorized to tell you that information."

"So you admit your not a normal guard?"

"Was that obvious? I'm one of Luna's personally picked guard force..." He went blank then face hoofed once he realized what he just did.

"Alright, so I got your rank, whats your name?"

"Well you've definitely earned it. I'm Shadowmere, former resident of Ponyville, current resident of Canterlot." He spoke with pride.

"Sure cool. Why did you actually come up to me?"

He gave a unamused look "Fine, I saw you bring Twilight and her friends to the Gala and I just wanted to know if you knew where that beautiful white unicorn was going."

"She told me she was going to find her Prince, oh look there she is." I pointed my hoof towards Rarity alongside a white unicorn with gold hair. She looked unhappy. "That must be her 'Prince'."

Shadowmere's face changed from unamused to serious upon seeing them. "I need to go." without another word he galloped towards where Rarity and the Prince were. I didn't dive in to investigate, this wasn't my business. I chose instead to start flying towards the bar, wherever that was.

I landed outside a large room, I stepped inside to find the main room, not allot of ponies surprisingly enough. I walked over to a table full of party foods. When I arrived I started picking at a few snacks, I turned along the table to see a blue stallion with blobs of green fur. He was a Unicorn by the looks of it, he was wearing a cape and a hood covering most of his body. He walked up to me.

"Having a good time?" He asked, his sounded like he was ill.

"Yeah, who are you?"

He grinned "I guess you can call me by my 'new name' Vortex." he answered.

"Pleasure to meet you Vortex, I'm..." I started but he interrupted.me.

"Allan. Yeah I know who you are, and I have a message for you."

This guy was starting to creep me out, he knew who I was, and he seemed ill. "Uh, what message?"

"A storm is approaching, and nopony is prepared for what's in it. So I thought I'd come and tell you, 'Watch for Negative events.' as they show signs of speeding up the storm." He then walked away.

I thought he might be a mad pony.

About an hour had past and I decided to join Spike at the cafe. I entered the cafe to see spike sitting down at a table. "Hey Spike." He looked up and saw me sit down at the table. "Seen any of the girls?"

Just in time the mane six entered the room, all except Rarity looked tired. "This has not been the best night ever." said Twilight.

The mane six sat around the table and started talking about each of their nights. Rarity claims she met a stallion who saved her from Prince Blue blood and his 'uptight' attitude, I took my guesses on who that was. The rest of the six had each had a bad night. I turned to Rainbow dash as the others were talking.

"So I'm guessing you might not be in the mood for a dance."

She looked unhappy "It's been a long night." I got the answer I was expecting until, "So we might have to make for that over a drink sometime, what do ya say."

I couldn't say no to most awesome pony of all time "Sure, I'm in."

Even after the events that took place that night it still turned out to be a nice night.

No big problems.

No Void shards.

No nothing.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Seaddle...

A Earth pony Stallion working in a warehouse, picking up and placing box's full items and placed them into a carriage, as he's done for five years as a profession. Everything was planned, everything was placed, everything was done. The stallion picked his saddle bags and prepared to head home when all of a sudden. A small purple object crashed through the ceiling and landed in the ground next to his room. He was startled by the thing. He chose to investigate this new object.

He slowly walked up to it and examined it closely, it looked like a shard of purple crystal, "What is this thing?" he asked himself as he reached down to touch it. Inches away from it, the shard let out a purple gas that filled the room. The Stallion backed up as he accidentally breathed in the gas. "What in Equestria?" he said before he froze dead still. Suddenly he fell to the ground, lifeless. A dark purple glow started emitting from the body and he started to stand up. His eye's were pure white, and he had already started to go pale.

"....Must....Prepare....the hidden....army...." he spoke as he dropped the saddle bag and left the building.

The First Rule of Chaos

A few days after the Gala and things were going great. I was dating Rainbow Dash, I had no letter's from CLM, and things had gone peaceful after that Void Pony incident. But things were about to change...

Canterlot Castle

A small guard force was patrolling the perimeter of the Castle, constantly checking for spies. They had been ordered by Celestia to check the area after a strange magical disturbance was felt. They were split into two teams, Solar team, and Luna team. Solar team was approaching Canterlot gardens, the unicorn team members were constantly scanning the area.

They arrived at the statue section and looked around for anything new. One of the guards stopped and sat down, a long day deserves a bit of a break after all. He decided to admire some of the statues while on break, each of them were to great interest. But something was different, he noticed some shards of stone on the floor, he looked up to see the statue it came from , except there was one problem, there was no statue. He looked to it's description. His eye's widened then he galloped towards the castle.

I picked up my video camera and rushed outside after I could hear everypony panicking. When I got outside I became dumbstruck at the sight of cotton candy clouds pouring chocolate rain. Recording the whole thing I stared to notice that a building had been lifted off the ground into the air and flipped upside down. I lowered the camera once I saw Twilight and her friends galloping towards the train. I figured they might know what was going on.

I followed and stopped them before they got on the train "Wait! What's going on? Why is it raining chocolate, and why are buildings floating in the air?"

Twilight turned to me "I don't know but we're going to find out. We're headed to see the Princess, she said she'll explain everything." Without another word, they pulled me into the train and we waited for about an hour until it stopped.

When we got out we were greeted by Shadowmere "My friends, its good to see your all okay."

Twilight stepped forward "What's going on Shadowmere?"

"Princess Celestia never said, I was part of one of the teams that was checking what the problem was." He seemed disturbed by something. "Please, we must not waste time!"

We all started galloping towards the castle.

We arrived at the castle to be greeted by Celestia "It's good to see your all okay. We have a dangerous event on our hooves that requires the use of, the Elements." I gave a confused look then realized what was going on.

This must have been one of the 'Events' that CLM mentioned. I didn't realize my shocked look until Shadowmere came up to me "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." He didn't seem convinced.

He began to open his mouth when Celestia signaled us "Come on you two, I can explain whats happening on the way."

We both followed Celestia through a hallway next to the thrones.

We arrived at the large room, Celestia had explained that the reason everything was so Chaotic was because of a Draconequus named Discord. I still didn't understand anything about these 'Elements of Harmony', though it was most likely the best way I was going to learn about my 'Element'. Celestia walked up to a large door.

"In here are the Elements, you must use them to turn Discord back into stone." She placed her horn into a keyhole in the door and the door opened revealing a small box.

Before anypony could say anything Pinkie pie started to speak "Wait a second, Eternal Chaos comes with chocolate rain you guys, CHOCOLATE RAIN!"

"I do like chocolate." I said jokingly.

Shadowmere looked at me "Now is not the time to joke around."

Celestia levitated the box in front of everypony "I am highly confident you'll be able to defeat Discord, with these." The box opened to reveal an empty interior. Everypony except me gasped.

Celestia started pacing in disbelief "Impossible! That door is protected by a spell that only I can get past, how could he possibly get the Elements?"

"Well, from what you told me, he's capable of doing anything that causes chaos, stealing the Elements would cause chaos among us. Wow my brain is really active right now." I explained.

Suddenly a voice came from nowhere "Well, look at what we have here. The Elements of Harmony, a powerful and brave soldier, and an Anomaly. Oh I'm going to have fun messing with all of you."

"Discord..." Celestia scowled.

"Celestia, its been a long time since we last met." The voice became an image on the stained glass windows. "If you want to know where the Elements are then this is all you get. Twists and turns, are my master plan. Then find the elements back where you began."

He then disappeared leaving everypony confused. While the mane six discussed it I turned to Shadowmere. "Sorry, I never gave you my name. I'm Allan."

"Allan? That's a strange name." he continued to give me a strange look.

"So what happened when you were split into two teams?"

He gave me a grim look "Lets just say... ...I'm one of the only two survivors." I realized it would be a sensitive topic.

"Oh... ...okay."

He looked at me as if I was being interrogated "My turn to ask a question. Do you know anything about...?" He was interrupted by Twilight.

"We're headed to the maze, we think the Elements might be hidden in there."

I couldn't let them go without me "Well then I'm joining in, I don't let my friends do something dangerous without help."

"Are you sure?" said Twilight.

"Of course I'm sure." I turned to ShadowMere "See ya around mate." I turned to leave with the others when...

"WAIT!" We all turned our heads to see ShadowMere with a serious look on his face, he turned to Princess Celestia "Your majesty, permission to assist the Elements of Harmony with their quest?"

Celestia had a confident look on her face "Permission granted ShadowMere, don't let me down." he nodded and galloped towards us.

As he passed me he gave me an unfriendly look, he didn't trust me. Either way we didn't have time to waste, we all galloped towards the maze.

We arrived at the maze, we all walked up to the entrance entrance "Well, guess I finally get a chance to see what's inside."

Rainbow dash walked up to me "There's no need, we can just make a quick fly over and..." before she could finish her wings disappeared.

I looked around and noticed Fluttershy's wings had also disappeared, along with Twilight, Rarity, and ShadowMere's horns. I looked to my back and my eye's widened at the sight of no wings. "This can't be good, can it?"

Suddenly a large snaky figure appeared out of nowhere. "Well your right, its not good, its chaotic."

ShadowMere stepped forward "What have you done to us?!"

He had a grin on his face "Oh well its the rules of the game, your all taking part in it."

I gave a questioning look "What game? It's bound to be interesting."

"See that's what I like, enthusiasm. The game is simple if you can find the Elements in the maze, you win and I'll go back to being stone."

Twilight stepped in "But..."

"But you can't use wings, or magic. If you did it would count as cheating and then you would lose, and I win."

I didn't like the feeling of not having wings, but I had to live with it til the Elements were found. "Then lets get started shall we?" I said enthusiastically.

ShadowMere didn't seem to like how I wasn't taking this seriously. We all walked up to the entrance.

"Alright everypony, we can do this as long as we work together." said Twilight.

Then we all said as we took a step forward "TOGETHER!"

Suddenly giant hedge walls started raising from the ground between each of us. I started to panic, I didn't like being alone in a place like this. I started galloping through the maze fast.

After what felt like an hour I had stopped galloping to breath and look around. I looked along the corridor of hedge to see an entrance nearby, I rushed over to it and looked through to see... ...Lyra. I was so surprised, she was in the maze with us. I walked up to her. "Lyra, its so good to see you, this place creeps me out. Hey how did you get in here anyway?"

She gave me a cold look "What are you doing here?"

"M.....me and the others are here to...."

She stared into my eyes with anger "Here to what Allan?!" there was a moment of tense silence between us. "Our friendship means nothing, I hate you now more than I ever have."

A lone tear started dropping down my face "B....but Lyra....what did I....?"

"What you did doesn't matter any more." she turned away from me "I think you should just leave."

I spoke in a broken voice "Lyra...."

"JUST LEAVE!"

I backed up then turned to galloping away in tears. I felt myself broken, my best friend hated me. Once the tears were done I looked down at my hooves, I was looking a bit grey but I didn't care anymore, I felt like there was no more point in stopping Discord. I turned towards section of the hedge that had collapsed, through it came Twilight, ShadowMere, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity.

"Allan! Oh thank Celestia it's good to see you." said Twilight.

ShadowMere looked at me as if he knew something was wrong "He doesn't look well."

"I'm fine I just.....don't want to talk right now."

"He looks perfectly fine to me." said Applejack.

"We don't have time for this, lets keep moving." said ShadowMere.

"Yeah....lets go." I said in a depressed voice.

We walked into a small area of the hedge where we found Fluttershy. "Fluttershy!" yelled Twilight.

"We've been looking allover the maze, and still no Elements." said ShadowMere.

"OH, boo, hoo, hoo." Twilight and ShadowMere were shocked at her response.

I lost attention from the conversation and looked towards the sky. I saw Rainbow dash flying away with her wings. "Of all the friends I thought would abandon me next, the one I'm dating was last one I expected." Twilight turned to me when I said that.

She looked to the sky and was in shock upon seeing her. "I....I don't believe it."

"Don't be surprised, friends always leave you behind in the end." I said in a depressed tone.

Suddenly the maze started to fall apart leaving nothing but an area full of dirt. Discord appeared in front of us. "Looks like the Element of Loyalty isn't very loyal after all." ShadowMere and Twilight gave shocked looks "Looks like I win, and Equestria will be plunged into chaos, FOREVER!"

Twilight looked down at the ground "How could we let this happen?"

I looked towards Ponyville in the distance "The first rule of chaos: there are no rules. That's how we let this happen."

The Act of a New Element

We had arrived back at Ponyville, I didn't care what we were doing, Twilight just said we had to find the Elements. Still a useless effort to my mind. ShadowMere didn't look happy, he was constantly looking over to Rarity as she carried a large boulder on her back. I still couldn't get my mind off of what happened in the maze, my best friend hates me, and Rainbow dash abandoned me. I was expecting all of my friends to abandon me very soon so I just gave up hope and waited for the inevitable to happen. I looked up and saw ShadowMere looking at me weirdly. I didn't like this.

"What are you looking at?" I spoke coldly.

He gave me a surprised look and turned away. I didn't like ShadowMere anymore than he liked me, he was digging into my personal space before the maze, he didn't trust me even after the Gala, his mistake, because I'm a good friend to have.

We walked up to the edge of town, by the field. Twilight looked at me "Allan, you head to the Library and get a head start on finding the Elements."

"Whats the point? We've already lost."

ShadowMere walked up to me and gave me a serious look. "Even when the battle is lost, the fight may still go on! We can't give up now!"

I sighed and spread my wings. "Fine." I started flying towards the Library, not caring about the....additions....to Ponyville.

I landed at the front door, I entered and started skimming through a load of books before Spike entered the room. "Hey, your back! What are you doing?"

"Twilight told me to come here and search through the books for the Elements of Harmony, I don't see the point though."

Spike gave me a confused look "Why would the Elements be in a book?"

"I don't know I wasn't listening." I threw every book I looked through into a pile on the floor.

Spike started helping me by picking out books on different shelves. I wasn't going through the shelves fast, I didn't see the point in trying. After a short time Twilight walked through the door with the others, I immediately dropped the book I was going through and sat on the floor. I didn't do anything, I didn't listen to anything, I just sat there. After a bit longer, Twilight attached something to my neck.

"Allan, your the new Element of Loyalty, lets go." She started pushing me outside.

A bit of time had past and Twilight had gotten everypony outside. Discord was waiting for us "Oh look, you found the Elements."

I looked over to ShadowMere, he didn't seem confident that the Elements were going to work. I turned back and Discord continued "Oh well, I accept my fate, I give in. Fire,when, ready." He made a target board appear on his chest.

Twilight's horn started glowing, I knew it wasn't going to work, this was all pointless to me, until it happened.

I suddenly an incredibly horrifying pain in my head, like a headache in a festival, I raised a hoof to my head. I looked up and saw Twilight and the other's levitating in the air. Suddenly, a stoke of pain hit my rib cage and I fell to the ground screaming in pain. The last time something like this happened was when the Void Pony arrived, and just like last time, the pain stopped and I stood up. I looked around and saw Twilight looking in disbelief, she also looked a little grey.

I saw the others leaving as well, I sighed and walked back into the Library. I took one last look back to see ShadowMere pacing. But I didn't care even the slightest at this point.

I got back to the Library and entered my room, there was nothing I or anypony else could do to fix this, so I just sat on my bed and closed my eyes. At least I could get some rest.

"Well if you can't do it, I will!"

I tried to open my eyes to see who was talking but for some reason I didn't have any control over them. I tried moving in general but I couldn't control my body. I chose to speak instead "Who are you?"

"You'll find out soon enough." then I blacked out.

I opened my eye's to see a large empty room. I was lying down on the floor, I tried to stand up but I felt weak. Looking around I saw nothing but darkness, "Hello?!" I called "Is anypony out there?!" I started hearing distant voices.

"So you think your so tough all of a sudden?" It sounded like ShadowMere, this confused me.

"THOSE PONIES DIED BRAVELY!" I could tell something was wrong.

"How do you know what that thing was called!? TELL ME!" He sounded angry and distressed.

"After what you just said you expect me to help you?" Something was going on, he was talking to somepony but it wasn't me.

I placed my dark orange hoof to my head while I thought. My eye's widened, I looked at my hoof again to be sure I wasn't seeing things. I looked at my mane to see if my suspicions were correct. I thought back to the image of the pony connected to my mind, Dark orange fur, Dark green mane with strands of red going through it, and predator eye's. When I checked my mane I was in disbelief, Dark green with strands of red, I could still see normally compared to the way you see thing through predator eye's. I thought of all the possible ways this could happen. I didn't have time to make a proper guess before ShadowMere started talking again.

"Your treading on dangerously thin ice here Allan." I realized at this point that I had switched bodies with the other pony connected to my mind. This meant that whoever's currently controlling my body doesn't seem too keen on making friends.

"What exactly are you looking for anyway?" I could only hear half of the conversation, I wanted to find a way to get back to my body, before he started messing things up. I built up my strength and stood up. I noticed my change in attitude, I was more determined than hopeless. I didn't think about it too much and instead spread my wing to start flying when I heard something.

A few dim lights started to come on revealing a long path to a doorway. I was about to start flying when I heard something behind me. I turned around to see a huge Void Shard, except it had four large purple material legs, and was walking towards me. My ears pinned back as I slowly backed away in fear of the crystalline creature. Three large purple shard grew on the side facing me, one of the Shard launched from the creature and hurtled towards me. I dived out the way as the Shard impaled the ground. I began to panic as the Titan drew near. The Shard grew back onto the monster, I turned to look at the exit door and realized it might be my only chance to escape. I spread my wing once again and started dashing towards the exit. The Goliath continued to launch Shards at me as they impaled the ground. I dogged left and right as the Shards destroyed the ground around me. The exit doorway drew closer and closer, the Void creature wasn't letting up. Almost every shard was inches away from impaling me into the ground. The exit was in reach and with one last push, I flew through the doorway, and then I blacked out again.

I opened my eye's to find I was laying on grass I got onto my hooves to hear "What was that?"

I turned to see ShadowMere looking at me confused "What was what?"

"You just collapsed onto the floor after you picked up that crystal Shard."

I looked at my wing to see a Void Shard being held underneath one, I immediately dropped it and jumped back. ShadowMere continued to give a confused look "Whats wrong with you? First you lose hope, then you insult me, then you bring me out here to get this Shard, and now your acting all weird again. I, DEMAND, ANSWERS!"

"WELL I DON'T HAVE THEM!" there was a moment of silence between us. He seemed surprised at my sudden outburst. "What's with the shard?"

He looked at the Void Shard "You said something about, stopping Discord."

I looked at the Shard carefully, it didn't look any different to the others. "Did I, by any chance, say where we were going next?" I started to feel tired.

Shadow spoke in an annoyed voice "You were about to say when..." before he could finish I fell to the ground and passed out.

I felt a familiar surface on my back. I opened my eyes to the sight of the giant 'Void Walker' raising one of it's legs and pointing the tip down at me. My eyes widened as I rolled to my right letting the leg dig into the ground. I got to my hooves as fast as I could, the Void Walker's leg was stuck in the ground. I used this opportunity to gallop away, the Walker started launching Shards at me. I didn't know where to go, it was just darkness everywhere I looked. I turned around and saw the Walker had pulled it's leg out from the ground and was now walking towards me. I considered my options, I could run away endlessly into the darkness in the hopes that it wont follow me, or I could stand and fight it. With one last gulp I had decided. I turned around and quickly flew into the air to make myself a harder target. I analysed the threat, taking it from the ground would be a suicide mission so that wasn't an option. Another option would be to charge it's central Shard, but the Void Shards it constantly fires at me makes that one near impossible. An option worth trying would be to land on the top of it and find a weak point.

I took my chances and flew above the Walker, it launched so many Void Shards at me that I had to do a barrel roll just to avoid getting hit. I had finally landed on top of the over sized crystal. I looked around, searching for a weakness, but all I saw was the crystal shell. I had a hard time standing up strait on the thing, it kept moving around. I tried walking over to the edge to see any weak points, then I noticed that the legs were made of the same material that the Void pony used to create a body. I also remembered how easy it was to make a hole in that material.

I took a deep breath and spread my wings, I aimed my point of launch through the leg closest to me, and then I launched into the leg creating a pony sized hole. I skidded around in the air and stopped to examine what I did. The Void Walker's leg quickly began to fall apart, this didn't stop it from firing more Shards at me. I didn't hesitate to dash into its other front leg right after. It fell over onto the ground, shattering half of the purple crystal. With only two legs and a broken body, it was stuck and couldn't get up. I landed next to it, I thought of what this thing could be for the Void, was it security system? A war machine? Or was it what a normal creature of the Void looked like? All these questions seemed impossible to answer.

I began to hear the voice of the pony who linked to my mind again "Well my work is done here, I got what I came for anyway."

I grew angry "Who are you?! And what exactly did you come here for?"

"All in good time, now it's time you went back to Equestria while I continue to... ...oh wait, that's right, no spoilers."

I was about to say something when I blacked out.

I opened my eye's to see that I was in bed again, "Was it just a dream?" If it was, it was one really realistic dream. I got up, I noticed multiple bandages along my body, including my head. I didn't want to think about it for too long, I walked out my bedroom door to see Twilight, Rainbow, and ShadowMere sitting at a table. Upon seeing me Rainbow dashed up to me and hugged me.

"YOUR OKAY!" She yelled happily. When she ended the hug Shadow and Twilight walked up to me, they looked happy to see me.

"Whats going on?" I asked.

"After you and ShadowMere helped us realize that Discord had made us the opposite of our true selves, you went into a fell unconscious." Said Twilight.

"Then when we got you to the hospital, they said you were in a comma." Said Shadow.

"Your were in that comma for about three weeks." Said Rainbow Dash.

After a good hour of being filled in on the stuff I missed, ShadowMere want to talk to me. We walked into my room.

"Ever since the Discord incident I've been wanting to ask you, when you went back to the Library something happened for you to start acting strange."

I thought I knew where he was going with the subject. "Look I don't know anything about...?"

"Then the doctor said he started to find these by your bed..." He levitated a small glowing piece of Void Shard in front of me "...they were covered in blood, and every time he found a new one there was a wound found on your body."

"Really, that's......interesting."

He levitated the Shard away "I know somethings going on around you but I don't care unless it directly effects me, my friends, or Rarity. So whatever it is, I think you should deal with it, before it becomes a problem." With that he walked away.

He knew something was going on, this was worrying me. There was all sorts of questions that needed answering:

'What did ShadowMere know about me?'

'What happened to me during the Discord event?'

'Are the creatures of the Void getting smarter?'

These questions each required an answer, so my next step would be to find them.

The Colossal Being

Edge of Equestria,

The Wall of the Badlands,

Guard unit six,

Five Minutes Before Impact...

The troops stood guard on the forty meter high wall, as they did every shift, a storm was growing around the Badlands border about half a mile into the distance. The Captain continued to check the Catapults for any faults while his group of fifteen troops, specially assigned for their positions, waited for the next orders to exit the Captain's mouth. A special unit was sent by Princess Celestia to Inspect the defense system along the wall and he was almost to them. The Captain finished his last checks on the Catapults turned to his troops.

"Alright you lot, this Inspection is being coordinated by Princess Celestia herself. It's been a while since she's even contacted us with anything important like an inspection so we must follow standard procedures, this may include launching some test Catapult shots to show how they work. Stand at attention, answer when spoken to, and you may just keep your jobs as members of the guard force. Here he comes now."

The Captain turned to the Inspector, who just so happened to be ShadowMere. All the troops stood at attention as he walked up to the Captain. "Are you the inspector?"

ShadowMere gave a proud look "Yes, I was sent by Princess Celestia to inspect the defense's along the Badlands border."

The Captain gave a sly grin "Well I'm sure you'll be pleased with the new Catapult mechanism and troop formations along the wall. We'll even do a demonstration if..." the Captain was interrupted as a giant purple flame fell from the sky hitting the land below the storm hard enough to make a large dust cloud.

The Captain hurried to the edge of the wall to examine the situation. "What in Celestia's name was that?!" yelled the Captain.

The Captain gave a quick glance over to ShadowMere and sighed, "Looks like the inspection is going to be a little different than we organised." he turned towards one of his troops "Go down to the barracks and alert a basic scout force to go investigate."

"YES SIR!" The guard began galloping along the wall.

ShadowMere walked up to the edge of the wall and looked at the massive dust cloud "What could possibly create such damage to the landscape?"

He turned to see Allan landing on the side of the wall "Well, do you remember that purple crystal...?"

Ponyville

Ten minutes before impact...

I opened the door to see the cross-eyed mail mare, "Letter for Allan." She said holding out a letter. I took the letter and thanked her.

I walked into my room realizing what the letter would be about, I opened the letter and it read...

"Dear Allan, this letter is urgent, you must go to the Badlands border as quickly as possible as a large Void Shard has broken through a gap and is planning on destroying the wall. This time is different, if it gets through the wall it will devour the population and let in the monsters of the Badlands through. This can't be aloud to happen, the Shard itself is due to break through orbit soon so prepare yourself, this is gonna be a hard one."

I threw the letter into the letter draw and rushed out my room to see Twilight, "Oh hey Allan, you look rushed."

"Hey Twilight, do you know where the wall at the Badlands border is?" I asked quickly as I possible could.

She gave me a confused look "Y...yeah it's actually just North of here..."

"Thanks." Without another word I flew through the front door and began to fly north to find the Badlands wall.

It didn't take long for it to come into sight but I soon realized I didn't have long to either. I looked up to see a ginormous purple object falling towards the wall. It went faster than I was going cracking a few explosions while in the air leaving behind a trail of smoke. It was too high to make contact with the wall but instead land at the border. It flashed passed the wall and crashed creating a dust cloud equally as high as the wall. I landed onto the battlements of the wall, I saw ShadowMere staring at the dust cloud.

"What could possibly create such damage to the landscape?" He said as he turned and saw me.

"Well, do you remember that purple crystal? Times that by ten, the add a thousand."

He sighed "What are you doing here Allan?" he said in an annoyed tone.

I gave him a cold stare "Take a guess." he gave me an unamused look.

"Well don't worry, leave this to the professionals." He said as he turned to the cloud seeing the scout force approaching it.

I didn't like this "Wait, you need to pull your troops back now!" I said in a panic.

The wall Captain to me "Look we've got things under control kid. We don't need a civilian messing things up. Now get lost."

My ears pinned back as I looked down thinking of what to do. But suddenly....

*Distant Explosions*

We rushed up to the side of the wall to see what was going on.

We heard ground breaking sounds that sounded like hoofsteps as a guard exited the cloud screaming to us. The Captain pulled out a telescope to look closer, I squinted my eye's to see better. The guard appeared to be screaming "CAPTAIN! WE'RE UNDER ATTACK! WE'RE UNDER ATTA...!" Suddenly the house sized head of a pony dropped onto the guard eating him whole.

The sight shocked the three of us, ShadowMere looked like he couldn't believe what he was witnessing, the Captain seemed horrified at the sight, while I showed failure on my face. The 'Colossal Void Pony' raised it head at the wall, blood dripping fro it's mouth, it took a step forward into the scout force and towards the wall.

The Captain backed up "We're under attack..." he said quietly "...we're under attack, WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!!" He turned towards the Catapults "Get the guards into defensive positions, DON'T LET IT REACH THE WALL!"

I backed up, the situation had gotten far worse than I thought, The Colossal Pony began it's slaughter of the scout force one step at a time, the guards were either crushed or eaten by each the thing. I looked around I couldn't accept the events happening before my eye's. The Catapults started pelting the Goliath with flaming boulders, each hit having no effect.

The Captain was watched in horror as his troops were slaughtered "It's useless. Our weapons are useless against it."

ShadowMere had pulled out a book and was searching for some sort of spell. I saw an Catapult bomb still unused laying on the side of the wall, this might have been my chance to show what I can do. I grabbed the bomb in my hooves and started flying towards the over sized creature as it approached the wall.

I flew around to it's back and dropped the bomb. The impact generated an explosion that created a gap in it's skin which was now clearly made of more tougher material. The gap in it's body was deep enough to just see the Void Shard, I flew to the side of a cliff nearby to get a breather, the Colossus turned it's head slightly to me and stared directly at me, I also stared for a short time, it seemed different to the other Void Pony I encountered this one seemed more, intelligent. But because of this I didn't have time to notice that it was raising it's hoof, upon noticing my eye's widened. No time to move away, no time to call for help, it's hoof slammed me into the cliff with full force. I couldn't move, hay I could barely breath after the impact. I used all my strength to move but as I opened my eye's to see, a giant hoof collided with the cliff sending me into the ground. The pain had been so bad I couldn't feel my back, I looked to see the damage, I had a broken wing and a large bleeding gash along my back. I had no way of escape without making my injuries worse and before I could do anything I felt myself being lifted of the ground. I turned to see the Colossus lifting me up with it's mouth, it threw me into the air and opened it mouth wide as I fell to my doom. It was clear to me now that the Void was not something to challenge, so I waited for the horrible sensation of being eaten alive. But suddenly, the creature was blown back by an explosion from a Catapult bomb. I heard a weird noise and ShadowMere grabbed me in mid-air, I had too many injuries to bother questioning this. I saw his horn glow and in a flash we suddenly appeared back on the wall.

ShadowMere placed me down as I struggled to stand up still so I leaned on the wall. ShadowMere gave me an angry look "What in Celestia's name were you think, were you trying to get killed?!"

I turned to view the Colossal Being get hit by countless bombs "I think I just saved allot more lives than we've lost ShadowMere, I deserve a bloody medal for just surviving that!"

The wall Captain walked up to me "You should be thanking him, if he didn't see the way you fought that thing and devised the plan to save you then you'd probably be dead right now."

I turned back to ShadowMere who seemed to be expecting gratitude "Thanks ShadowMere, if you didn't save me, I'd be dead right now."

ShadowMere smiled and gave me a nudge on the shoulder, I returned the smile and turned to the over sized pony. It's Shard was constantly trying to rebuild the surface damage made to the body. After a bit it fell to the ground with only three hooves and half a head. It's eye focused it's gaze on me, I had become fearful of the creature from that day onward. It screeched into the sky as the material that created it's body began to recede into the Void Shard that made it. A large pulse wave burst out pushing everypony on the wall back, I got back up to see what was going on. It began to start glowing brightly, it got so bright that I could no longer see the Shard. I had to close my eye's and when I opened them again it was gone.

Top of the wall

One hour after Impact

I sat still as the medic wrapped the bandage around my body to cover up the wounds "Alright, you wings should be better in about a week or so and the wound along your back will need a bit more time, I'd say about, four weeks if you keep the bandages on."

"How many injured are there?" I asked with a lifeless voice.

He gave me a bag of medications and paused "Far more than we get payed for."

After I got my treatment and medications I left the infirmary and went to find ShadowMere. I found him after he was finished talking to the Captain in the armory. "Oh your out of the infirmary, that's good." he said.

"Look Shadow, you can't tell Princess Celestia about what happened here."

He gave me a confused look "Equestria was just attacked for the first time in one thousand years and you don't expect me to tell the Princesses?"

"Do me this one favor please."

ShadowMere started walking towards his carriage and away from me "No, this is my duty and I can't lie to a Princess."

I quickly started to think if something, then I remembered "If you do this for me, I'll get you a date with Rarity."

ShadowMere froze solid and slowly turned around "One date?"

"Yeah."

He sighed and held out his hoof "You've got yourself a deal."

I shook his hoof and he walked towards his carriage "Uh....is there any chance I could get a ride back to Ponyville?"

He got into his carriage and turned to me "Fine get in."

"Hey thanks for the ride, see ya." I waved bye to ShadowMere as he rode his carriage away.

I walked back to the Library, as I entered Twilight gasped upon seeing me. "What happened to you? Are you okay?" She asked horrified at my current state.

"I'm fine, I've just had a rough day."

She looked at the bandages "How bad is it?"

"Bad enough that you don't want to look under the bandages."

After that Twilight made me a bowl of soup and told me to stay in bed so that the wound would heal. I laid in bed trying to forget that image of the Colossal Void Pony for the rest of the night. But I think it was safe to say that those images weren't going anywhere.

Recovery

I had to spend four weeks in recovery of my wounds, it wasn't that bad, I got free soup and care. But a downside was that I couldn't do 'anything' other than sit around and read Lyra's book of humans. That wasn't bad but I got bored after I finished reading. That was five day's into recovery out of twenty eight, the rest was actually more interesting.

Six days into recovery...

Rainbow Dash entered the room and sat next to me "I can't imagine how boring it must be in here." She said.

"Word of advice: Don't get seriously injured." I said turning my head to her with a welcoming grin.

Rainbow seemed to feel sorry for me, she held out her hoof and placed a small box on the side of my bed "I'll be back in a few days, don't open that until I do, we need to talk." without another word she left the room and closed the door.

Those words began to haunt me, I didn't think about it too hard but I knew she clearly gave me the box for a reason. I placed it into the middle draw on the cabinet and continued with my boredom.

One week, three days into recovery...

I had just finished writing both letters to Rarity and ShadowMere. "HEY SPIKE!" Spike entered the room "Could you send take these letters to Rarity and ShadowMere for me?"

He had a questionable look "Sure, why?"

"Well Shadow has the hots for Rarity so I wrote a letter to her 'pretending' to be him asking her on a date. I sent him a letter explaining all the details."

Spike looked angry "Wait, he likes Rarity and your helping him!"

"Between you and me, it's not gonna happen. I don't see any chemistry with those two, no similarities or anything. So when the date happens I'd give it about a few days then they'll just go back to being friends." I said.

Spike sighed and took the letters, he left the room and that was the last role I played in the little 'crush' ShadowMere had on Rarity.

One week, five days into recovery...

Twilight had just finished another test on my amnesia, each day she seemed to grow more curious about it. I laid on my bed, I began to think about what happened at the wall. The extremely over sized Void Pony had almost killed me due to my failure to concentrate on what was going. If I had failed and it got through the wall, Equestria would have been open to the Badlands. What I couldn't get off my mind was why it was trying to eat us. The possible reasons ran through my mind, it could be something the Void Ponies due to survive, or it might've been because of it's size in comparison to a normal Void Pony that it needed a more frequent energy supply.

I still couldn't get the sight of it's open mouth about to devour me out of my head. I guess I ow ShadowMere more than a little favor. I shook it off and tried to sleep.

Recon Squad Three

Location: Seaddle

Objective: Find out why Seaddle has gone radio silent.

The small group of Guards walked through the empty streets of the city. "Nothing left here but dust." spoke one of the guards.

"You owe me twenty bits Volt." Said another guard.

The guard at the front of the group had stopped moving. "Hey captain, whats the problem." asked his second in command. When he noticed the Captain was looking at a down angle, he turned to see what he was looking at.

The captain spoke first "I believe, we found the source of the radio silence." In front of them was a large gaping hole filled with Void shards and purple gas.

The guards stood there speechless at the sight before them. "The Princesses' our going to want to hear of this." said one of the guards.

"Agreed..." He started to walk back up the street they walked down "...we'll need more ponies if we plan on getting rid of them."

They stopped in their tracks when a pony walked out onto the street. "Civilian!" Cried one of the guards.

"Maybe he knows more about what happened here." They started to approach the civilian pony as it slowly turned towards them. They stopped and stared in shock as the pony stood there staring at them with lifeless eyes.

"Must...." He spoke.

The guards slowly continued to approach the civilian

"Must..."

The Captain reached the the civilian "Must what?"

The Civilian pulled out a dagger and stabbed it into the side of the captains head "Must...kill....all...Witnesses."

Two weeks, two days into recovery.

I woke up in my bed, I sat up and noticed a letter placed next to me. Spike probably put it there while I was asleep. I opened it and it read:

The Void ponies have adapted, they just got a Void pony Pegasus into Equestria. It's somewhere in the Everfree forest, you need to deal with it before it can cause any trouble. You've already got more than enough suspicion on you from that Shadow guy. This has to be done quickly.

I threw the letter into the bottom draw with the others. "How do you expect me to do that with these injuries?" I couldn't move, I couldn't get out of the bed. I sat there thing of any possible way that I could deal with this problem without further injuring myself.

ShadowMere then came through the door. "Hello Allan, I just came by to see how you were doing and to say thanks for getting me that date."

As if a light bulb appeared over my head, an idea came into my mind "ShadowMere, I need you to do something for me."

He gave out a sigh "What is it?" he didn't sound too happy.

"I need you to go into the Everfree forest and find a Purple Pegasus Pony, you'll know what to do from there."

He just stared at me "I don't like the sound of this."

"Deal with it." I said in an annoyed tone. I started to feel slightly angry for some reason.

ShadowMere sighed "Fine, but if this ends badly it's your fault."

"SURE WHATEVER JUST GET GOING!" I yelled at him.

He left the room to do the task. I sat there trying to calm down, I must have just let the stress get to my head. After that I felt tired, I decided to try sleep and let the wounds heal. I laid back and closed my eyes, undisturbed for the entire night.

Two weeks, three days into recovery.

I felt a sort of tingling around my body, I started to open my eye's, I saw the floor then I looked around to see ShadowMere with an angry look on his face. His horn was glowing, I looked around to see I wasn't in my bed. Suddenly the tingling stopped and I fell to the ground. "AAAAH!!" My wound began to hurt "What the hay!" I looked up at ShadowMere, it was now I noticed the bite marks on his hoof.

"You deserved it, sending me to get killed." He said with an annoyed tone.

"What, did you just get back?" I asked.

"No, finished yesterday but it got so late when I finished I needed to go home and get some rest. I just got here now." he responded.

I climbed back onto the bed slowly "So let me guess, you destroyed the shard with your OP abilities and left unhurt." I said sarcastically looking at the bite wound.

He was not amused. "It tried to bite my arm off, but I used my 'OP abilities' to get it off."

"Well if I were you I'd probably get that thing checked out by a doctor, you know make sure it's clean."

"Not yet." He said "How did you know that thing was in the forest?"

"I uh... ...lucky, guess." I improvised, I didn't know what to say.

He didn't believe me for a second, but before he could press further Twilight walked in.

"Here Allan, I got Spike to make you some breakfast." She placed a tray onto the bed using magic. ShadowMere walked out.

"Thank's Twilight."

Two weeks, six days into recovery

I kept looking at the box that Rainbow dash had left. I was bored enough that I was tempted to look at what was inside it. I tried to break the temptation by not looking at it. Luckily, Lyra entered the room levitating a box with her.

"Hi Allan, how are you?" Her voice seemed to have concern in it.

"I'm about half way through this state of boredom. I can barely feel my back after Twilight gave me those pills. Other than that I feel good." I responded.

Lyra gave a caring smile "Well it's good to see that your doing well. I only heard about this yesterday when I ran into some unicorn who seemed annoyed about something. He told me you were badly injured, so this morning I rushed into town and pulled a few favors to get you this." She opened the box and inside was a fresh batch of muffins. "There's too many for one pony so I thought, maybe, we could share them."

I gave a friendly grin "That sounds like a great idea."

She smiled and we each picked out a muffin to start eating "I plan on taking care of you through this whole thing. I know a little bit about medical care so you don't have to worry about anything."

From there onward I didn't feel bored at any point in the recovery. However I couldn't escape one question that nopony considered asking until near the end of my recovery.

Three weeks, four days into recovery

"So how exactly did you get injured this badly?" asked Twilight.

I froze, I didn't have an answer prepared for that question and if I did I had already forgotten it. "I uh... ...bad fall, one of my wings uh... ...hit a tree and I... ...fell onto a large sharp rock." I improvised.

Twilight looked at me as if she knew I wasn't telling the truth. "That must have been one really sharp rock to do that kind of damage."

"Well it probably was but you shouldn't trouble him any more," Lyra jumped into the conversation "He needs his rest and besides, it doesn't matter how he got it all that matters is that we help him get back on his hooves." said Lyra defensively. Twilight then left the room.

"I'm glad your here Lyra." I said.

She turned to me "Tomorrow I wont be here, I need to go help a friend of mine with something. It's only for tomorrow I'll be back before you know it." She walked up to the edge of the bed and gave me a hug "You should get some sleep, let the injury heal."

We ended the hug and she left the room.

Three weeks, five days into recovery

I was sitting in my bed staring at the small box Rainbow gave me again, I was thinking in my head 'Just look at what it is and get it over with.' I gave into the temptation and picked up the box. "One peek couldn't hurt." I opened the box.

In some sort of shock I threw the box and the item inside it across the room at the door, which just so happened to be opening.

"I knew it!" Yelled Rainbow dash as she entered the room. "I knew you would open it before I got here!"

I felt slightly betrayed "Where did you get that Rainbow!?"

"ShadowMere gave it to me but that's not important." Rainbow spoke in an angry tone.

I suddenly grew angry myself "When did he give it to you?"

Rainbow huffed "After you got the injury. Why, is there more your not telling me?!"

"No it's more I can't tell you." I replied.

Rainbow didn't seem convinced "Why can't you tell me? Do I not mean enough for you to trust me?"

"Why did ShadowMere give this to you?" I asked trying to change the subject.

"He told me it's things like this that always end up leading to nothing but trouble, then he called YOU nothing but trouble." She said. I already knew where this was going. "He found it in a crater in the Badlands and told me to give it to you."

Rainbow dash picked up the box and placed the contents in front of me, a Void Shard the size of a ponies head. "What, is it?" she asked.

"I can't tell you."

She got angry enough to throw the Shard across the room. "You know what, if you can't trust me with this kind of thing then I can't trust you." She turned around and walked towards the door. "We're done." She slammed the door shut and I was left in silence.

I looked at the large Void Shard, it hadn't shattered. I decided to put it back in the box and store it under the bed. I then sat there for the entire day, just thinking over what happened. I only knew so much, but one thing was certain, me and ShadowMere were going to have to have a little 'chat'.

Week four, end of Recovery

Lyra helped me get out of bed, "Wow, look at your back." I turned my head to see a large mark to indicate that I was injured there previously. I started to walk normally again. It took an hour or two before I felt like I had a back again. When I was ready I took a step outside and took in the fresh air. Lyra went home, I told her I was okay and that she needed some time to relax. I walked down a street later on, I heard an oddly familiar voice from beyond a nearby building. I looked over to who it was, it was ShadowMere eating an apple. I got angry, I remembered what I was going to do. I approached him, without warning I bit his tail and flung him into the nearby wall. Normally he'd be too big of a pony for somepony like myself to even budge, but he didn't expect something like that. He rubbed his head with his hoof and looked up at me.

I looked down at him with anger "You and I are going to have a little chat."

Double trouble

"What in Equestria is your problem?! Can't you just leave me alone?!" Yelled ShadowMere trying to get back on all hooves.

When he got up I pushed him into the wall, it was a little harder this time considering he was more prepared. "I've got questions that need answers." I picked up a plank of wood laying on the floor and hid it under my wing.

"You could have just asked!" He said frustrated.

"Neither of us are in a good mood so I'll get to the point. You gave a Void Shard to Rainbow Dash after the attack at the wall, where did you find it?" I had a determined expression on my face.

"It was in the impact crater of the Giant Pony, what's so important about it?" He answered.

"What's important is none of your business!" I roared back. "The fact you found it isn't surprising, what I don't understand is why you didn't break it on sight."

"I was going to show it to Princess Celestia." He responded.

"Why in the world would you do that after the deal?" I spoke in an angered tone.

"You think I'm going to turn away from my duties for you? I'm not an idiot, unlike somepony." He said.

I just gave him a cold stare "Coming from the pony who thinks they've got a shot with Rarity." He got back onto his hooves.

"How dare you!" He growled.

I took a defensive stance for if he got 'too' angry. "At least you didn't tell the Princesses about the attack right?" He just just stared at me. "....Right?!"

"Like I said, I'm not an idiot." He said.

I looked at him in shock, "Are you bucking kidding me!? YOU BUCKING LIED TO ME!" I charged at him in anger.

ShadowMere's horn started to glow and I started to lift off the ground. I broke free by flying at full strength, "That worked last time because I had a broken wing and back." I continued charging at him.

I was already too close for him to use magic, so he had resorted to physical attacks. He raised a hoof and ended my charge by hitting across the side of my head launching me back. I opened my eyes to see him charging at me so I quickly got the wooden plank from under my wing and held it in my mouth. I swung the plank but he ducked and avoided the attack. He tried to grab the plank with his magic but I didn't let go. "You want it? Take it." I spat out the plank, he had been pulling with so much pressure it flung back at him and hit him in the face. He fell back and I pushed him to the ground. I was about to stomp both front hooves onto his stomach until I heard a distant falling sound. I paused it sounded like it was getting closer. Before I knew it ShadowMere had taken advantage of this to trip me over and start getting up. "Hold on a minute, can you hear that?"

He began to hear the sound too. We looked up to try and find the source of the noise. Our eye's widened upon seeing a purple flame pass over ponyville and near the everfree forest. I knew immediately what it was, "We'll finish this later..." I said to him before running towards the large cloud of purple smoke.

I got to the edge of the forest and took a minute to breath, I looked around to see where the cloud of smoke was coming from. My eye's narrowed when I saw it was coming from Fluttershy's cottage. I could see Fluttershy running back into her home with her little animal friends. I started running towards the cottage, I jumped over the fence and stopped at the edge of a small crater. There was so much smoke that I could barely see anything. I heard the sound of a Void pony screech, it was coming from the center of the crater. Before I had a chance to react, a red beam of magic flew passed my head. Then another one flew into me launching me out of the smoke cloud and into the fence.

It walked out of the smoke, it was a unicorn Void pony this time. The Void pony looked at me and turned towards Fluttershy's cottage as if I wasn't there. I ran up to it and jumped onto it's head bringing it to the ground. The material creating the body was more tougher than before so it didn't break when it hit the ground. I was holding it down when I heard hoofsteps coming from behind me. I slightly turned my head to see who it was when the Void Pony kicked me, launching me into the other pony. I looked up to see a pair a of white eye's stare at me blankly. It was another Void Pony, a Pegasus Void Pony. "Oh great." I said to myself. The Void Pony pushed me aside and walked towards Fluttershy's cottage. "HEY!" I yelled. "Don't just ignore me!" I charged at the Pegasus Void Pony. I was inches away when I was stopped by the unicorn Void Pony using its magic.

It threw me over the small crater, through the purple smoke, and into a now angry unicorn. "Well this is bad."

"What is?" Asked an angry ShadowMere. Upon noticing it was him I sighed.

I got onto my hooves "The fact that there are two of them." I started running back towards the Void Ponies. ShadowMere began to follow me.

"Two of what?!" He asked right before getting hit by a burst of magic. I looked ahead to see they had turned their attention towards ShadowMere. The Pegasus charged him, giving me a chance to fight the unicorn. It shot out bursts of magic towards me as I got closer but I dodged them all. I got up to it and gave it an uppercut, it stumbled back. I ran up to it and tackled it to the ground, raising a hoof and slamming it down onto the Void ponies head.

In response it growled at me and pushed me off and onto my back. It pounced onto me, I held it back by the neck, it started chomping rapidly at me, like a rabid dog. It was putting so much effort into it that I couldn't push it off. I thought I was done for until a beam of magic flung it off of me. ShadowMere rushed up to me and helped me up. "Switch!" He yelled right before creating a shield around himself before a line of red magic could hit him. I turned to the Pegasus Void Pony who was already trying to get a height advantage.

I flew up after it. It stopped and looked down at me right before I rammed into it head first forcing it back. It got back into focus, and charged at me. I dogged out of the way and it flew strait into a tree. It fell to the ground and appeared to be knocked out. I landed next to it to check. It wasn't healing itself for some reason. Before I could do anything else I heard the screeching of the other Void Pony. I turned around to see ShadowMere winning a magic duel with the Void Pony, it fell to the ground in clear pain. I walked up to it with ShadowMere.

The Shard was now visible, it was in the unicorns head. ShadowMere looked at me "Would you care to do the honors?" he said.

"Gladly." I replied right before smashing the shard. The body began to turn into dust.

ShadowMere turned to me "You're a better fighter than I thought you'd be."

I turned around and walked back towards the other Void Pony, completely ignoring ShadowMere. "I see you didn't finish him yet." he said.

"I was getting to that." I said right before raising a hoof over the Void Pony.

"Wait!" Said ShadowMere. "Let me take him prisoner back to Canterlot, that way we can interrogate it, find out what these things are after." I thought about it for a second.

"Don't tell Celestia about the prisoner." I said giving him a serious look.

"I wont." he said.

I didn't trust him "I'm serious ShadowMere, promise me you wont tell either of the princesses about this Void Pony."

"I Pinkie Promise." He said "Cross mind heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye."

I just stared at him "Okay then, sure that's good enough for me." I place my hoof back onto the ground.

I start to walk away, "Keep in mind this is your 'SECOND' chance Shadow, so lets try staying friends this time."

I got home and sat on my bed trying to relax. I took a look at the Void Shard I had kept, it was slightly larger than the others. That was it, other than that there was nothing different. But I didn't smash it yet. I put it back and fell asleep.

The Wedding Event: Part 1

I was out busting clouds for some bits, a Pegasus named Cloudchaser offered me a job a few days before. I bust thirty clouds I get thirty bits. I had just got payed and was flying back to the library when I heard Spike.

"Allan!" he called. I saw him and flew down next to him.

"Hey Spike, what's up?" I asked.

"Princess Celestia has invited you, me and the others to Canterlot for a wedding." He said. "Everypony was given a task, including you."

"Hold up, who's getting married?" I asked curiously.

Spike pulled out a letter "Hold on." He scanned the paper intently "Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Shining Armor."

"Isn't that Twilight's brother?" I asked.

"Yep." Spike replied. "You've been given the task of helping Twilight make sure everything goes well."

I sighed "This should be fun."

The train didn't take long to get to Canterlot, there was some sort of giant magical bubble surrounding the city, similar to the one ShadowMere created to block attacks. We passed straight through it and into the train station. When we got off Twilight went to go look for her brother and the others went to get started on their tasks. I went after Twilight so I could get to my task. When I got up to her she told me she was headed to see how Applejack was doing with the food. We arrived at the Kitchen and Twilight started checking things off 'the check list'.

The pony I assumed to be Princess Mi Amore Cadenza enters the room. She took glance at everypony in the room then walked over to Applejack. I turned to Twilight "Does she always act this shady?" I asked.

"Only recently." Twilight replied.

I figured everything here was probably going well so I headed in advance to the next place of interest.

I walked into the room to see Rarity making dresses, she seemed extremely focused. Twilight entered the room shortly after and started complaining about the Princess. I walked up to Rarity who seemed to busy to focus on Twilight. "Anything interesting happen yet?" I asked.

She looked at me realizing I had entered the room. "Oh hello Allan, nothing really I've been busy making the wedding dresses. Oh, I almost forgot." She dragged me towards a wardrobe "I finished your suit for the wedding as well so you don't have to go unprepared."

I took a quick glance at the well designed suit and smiled. "Cool, I like it." She smiled at my response.

Before we could continue talking Princess Cadence entered the room. Rarity dashed up to her and bowed down "Princess Cadence, I assume your here to check on the dresses?" asked Rarity.

"Yes actually." They walked over to the dresses and began to look at them.

After Cadence entered she was followed by presumably the bridesmaids, one of them being Lyra. This took me by surprise. "Lyra?"

Lyra turned to see me with surprise in her eye's "Allan? What are you doing here?"

"I got an invitation, what about you?" I said.

She smiled "Well I'm an old family friend and was offered to be a bridesmaid." She walked up to me and gave me a hug. "It's good to see you here."

I returned the hug, something always felt right when we hugged. The hug ended when Cadences voice was heard. "I was hopping for something with a little more beading and a longer train." Said Cadence while walking towards the bridesmaid dresses.

"Oh...yes, of course." replied Rarity.

Cadence looked at the dresses "and those should be a different color."

I looked at the dresses and there didn't seem to be anything wrong with them. "I think they are lovely." Said one of the bridesmaids.

"Me too." said another.

"I love them." said Lyra right before getting a glare from the princess.

The princess was about to leave the room "Make them a different color." she left.

Lyra turned to me "I need to go, talk to you later." she said right before walking out the door.

I turned to Twilight "The princess is a bit demanding don't you think?" I said to her.

"Yeah, maybe her name should be princess demandy pants." replied Twilight. We then left the room. Afterwards we checked up on the reception run by Pinkie pie, according to the princess it was 'Perfect, if it was a six year old's birthday party.' which was kinda true to be fair. Not much happened after that, nothing important anyway. Well actually something else did happen around the grand hall when I went to see Celestia.

I entered the great hall, intent on asking Celestia a few questions. However when I entered the hall was empty, I looked around to see if anypony was nearby but nothing. I flew up to the nearest stained glass window and examined it. It had a picture of Celestia and Luna shooting magic lasers from their horns at each other. After examining some more stained glass windows I heard somepony enter the room. It was ShadowMere in full guard armor wielding a spear, he walked up to me and said "Allan, I want you to join my squad for the wedding."

I stared at him confused "What squad? I thought there wasn't going to be any military involvement in the wedding itself."

"Princess Cadence ordered me to organize a squad to protect the wedding and I want ponies I can trust on the squad." He said.

I still looked confused "So why are you asking me?"

"Because your my friend and I trust you." He responded.

I was hesitant at first but then I thought about how cool it would be to become part of a guard squad. "Sure." I said.

He gave a cheerful grin "Great, we all have to meet up at the wedding rehearsal tomorrow so we know what we're doing for the real thing." He levitated a map from under his armor and laid it out in between us. "We have two teams, the central guard and the outdoor patrol. We'll be switching shifts over the course of the wedding, for your first shift you'll be part of the central guard, your job is to keep an eye open for anything suspicious." He pointed at multiple places on the map "These are the guard positions, you positions will be here..." he pointed near the main entry door. "...and here." he pointed to a tower outside the main building overlooking the wedding. "Before the wedding and rehearsal we are to meet up outside the main building so I can brief you on any new developments." He then rolled up the map and put it under his armor.

I gave him a salute and we separated.

The next day I rushed over to the meeting point, when I arrived ShadowMere was organizing eight other guards to the positions that were marked on the map. He saw me approach and held out a dagger with the handle pointed towards me. "All my squad is required to have a weapon." he said.

I took the dagger and picked up a conveniently placed weapon belt. I flew into position and the rehearsal began, Princess Celestia explained what was going to happen in the real thing until she got to the maid of honor bit. When Twilight was supposed to give the rings she wasn't there.

Suddenly the doors burst open and Twilight steps into the room and starts going on a rant about Cadence in front of everyone. I immediately face hoof. She starts blabbering on and on, then eventually she Cadence starts crying and runs out of the room as Twilight starts calling her evil. When Twilight turns around she gets yelled at by her brother, I begin to blank it out when Shining Armor mentions that "...the original bridesmaids were only in it to see Canterlot royalty...!"

My eye's widened in disbelief "Lyra wouldn't do that..." I thought "...she's completely honest with me there's no reason for her to..." my thought were interrupted by one of ShadowMere's team coming up to me.

"I think it's time you break this up." He said. I looked as Shining Armor finished off his rant and left the room.

I walked up to Twilight and dragged her out of the room by her tail. She gave me a sad look "Sorry Twilight." I said before closing the doors on her.

I walked back to my hotel room and thought about the events that transpired during the day. I hadn't heard anything about Twilight nor Lyra after the rehearsal. But this was all something I could worry about later, there was a wedding approaching that I would never forget.

The Wedding Event: Part 2

The day of the wedding

I arrived at the meeting spot, ShadowMere walked up to the group with a serious face.

"I've been informed that there may be spy's hidden among us, so be on your guard." Said ShadowMere. We all gave a salute and the eight other guards went to there positions. ShadowMere held me back for some reason "I got a tip that Twilight might try to stop the wedding. So I want you guarding the front door and take shifts with me every half hour." I nodded. "I trust that if you see Twilight you'll do what you have to keep Twilight from interrupting the wedding?"

"Yes sir." I replied.

"Good, now get in position, the shows about to start." he said.

I was standing guard in front of the door, expecting to see Twilight run round the corner and just throw me into a wall with her magic or something. But until my shift ended I stood guard.

When my shift was about to end I packed up my stuff and moved towards the door. Suddenly, Twilight rushed round the corner and bumped into me. "GAH!" she screams. "Allan, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here to keep you from disrupting the wedding." I said while blocking her path from the door. "Just turn around and leave before you get yourself into more trouble."

"Listen to me, the Cadence in there is an impostor." said Twilight.

"Well where's the proof?" I asked. Right on time, a rough looking Princess Cadence walks round the corner.

"That proof enough for you?" she asks.

I nod "Good luck then, I think they just finished their vows." I said right before flying out the window.

I landed at the tower that overlooked the wedding to find ShadowMere and four other guards there watching the wedding. "What's going on?" I asked.

ShadowMere continued to watch the wedding "The plan was going well until you let you friendship get in the way." he said.

I slowly began to approach them "What are you talking about? What plan?" I said.

He continued his gaze at the wedding "It's quite simple if you think about it. Keep the Queens identity a secret until the barrier went down and then begin the invasion." I stopped moving after invasion "But because you didn't guard the door like I ordered you to, you let this happen." he before pointing in the direction of the wedding.

I turned my head to see Twilight, the real Cadence and another ShadowMere confronting a figure that replaced the Cadence that was about to get married. "Your one of the things threatening Canterlot aren't you?"

He began to glow green and in a flash he was no longer ShadowMere but a changeling. "Oh well, we always have plan B." he said turning his head to me and grinning.

Suddenly I was pulled back by the other guards that had now turned into changelings, they forcefully held me down and spread my wings out. The former ShadowMere changeling starts to approach me now wielding a black dagger with green magic. "What's plan B?" I ask hesitantly.

"It involves us taking you back to the badlands as a prize for the queen. The only problem is she doesn't like it when her prize flies away." He gestures towards my wings with the dagger "So we're going to have to fix that aren't we?" My eyes widen, I begin to struggle in panic.

"GET AWAY FROM ME! DON'T YOU DARE CUT OFF MY WINGS!" I yelled in panic.

He placed the dagger against the nerve of my right wing and then raised it into the air. I closed my eyes and turned away hoping for it to be quick. When suddenly...

'BANG!!!'

I was flung back from what sounded like an explosion. I opened my eyes to see the changelings lying on the floor and a giant hole in the wall. I slowly walked towards the hole to see the battle taking place outside. The cause of the explosion was cannon fire from the battle. I could see guards trying to hold off the changeling onslaught that dropped within the castle walls. However something caught my eye when I saw a tower on the other side of the district with... ...Lyra in it. I could see more changelings dropping into the area around the tower, I had to get her out of there.

I spread my wings and took off as fast as possible. I was flying through the changeling drop area, left was too open, right was nothing but mountain, so strait through was the better option. Near hundreds of them zooming down past me. I couldn't hear anything except the madness happening around me. After flying through the hell storm of changelings I reached the tower. I landed on the floor Lyra was on, but she wasn't there anymore. I heard a noise coming from the top floor so I start running up there. When I reach the door it's jammed so I ram it and on the other side I see the former ShadowMere changeling about to stab Lyra.

I lose it and charge at him yelling "NOOOOO!" he turns to me in shock right before I ram him out the window his reaction time is unseen as he just falls, not trying to fly.

I turn to Lyra "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" I ask.

"No I'm fine." She replies right before diving in to give me a hug. "Thank you so much for saving me."

I return the hug "It's okay." we end the hug. "We need to get out of here before..." I'm interrupted by a green bolt of magic hitting the floor next to me. I turned my attention at the doorway to see a swarm of changelings beginning to fill the room. Me and Lyra backed up against the wall her horn glowing, ready to fight back if she had to. I held her hoof in mine knowing this might be our final moments.

"Allan." She said. I turned my head our eyes met. "If this is it, I want you to know that I..." before she could finish the ground began to shake. The changelings didn't seem to be know what was going on either. I heard a distant explosion sound that began to get louder. I looked out the window to see a bright light coming from the palace. I closed my eyes and hugged Lyra as things got brighter. Then, I blacked out.

I slowly opened my eyes to see a dark room, there were large holes in the walls revealing the blackened skies outside. I looked around to try and find Lyra, I saw her lying against a wall unconscious. I tried to stand up and look out the large hole in the wall but I could barely move after the explosion. I leaned against the wall and looked outside, the entire castle looked dark and destroyed. I looked to the palace to see the roof was missing, but that wasn't the most weird part. When I looked above the palace in the sky I could see a spiral of storm clouds.

"What in the..." Before I could finish, the tower started to fall apart beneath my hooves. "Oh no..." I said quietly. I turned to Lyra and limped over to her as the tower continued to crumble around us. I tried to lift her up but I was too weak. I could feel the floor beneath me about to collapse, was this it, was this the end...

"I believe in you." I looked down to see Lyra speak those words. I lifted her up with all my strength and flapped my wings as hard as possible. I began to fly out of the collapsing tower with Lyra in my arms. I turned back to see the tower collapse into the castle wall. I landed right outside what was left of the palace. I left Lyra next to the door.

"I'll be back, just wait here." I said before entering the ruined palace.

I entered the room where the wedding was originally taking place to see large scorch marks surrounding the body of... ...ShadowMere. Rarity was lying next to his body, I rushed up to them to find out what was going on.

"Is he okay?" I asked Rarity.

"I think he's unconscious." she replied.

I took a minute to examine the area, the roof was gone, there was a large hole in the wall that dug into the mountain, and the entire room was burnt to a crisp. "What happened here?" I asked still examining the room.

"He saved me." She said.

I turned back to the unconscious body of ShadowMere with a look of surprise "ShadowMere.... ...did all this?"

Getting a date

I woke up in my bed, I felt ready for the day. I got up and picked up my camera and put my Sunglasses on my head and prepared leave when I heard voices in the next room.

"Hi Twilight!"

"Hi Lyra, why did you want to come over again?"

"I just wanted to ask you something about Allan."

"Why?"

"Is he dating anypony at the moment?"

The rest of the conversation was cut off when I entered the room. Lyra looked at me "Good morning Allan." she said cheerfully.

"Good morning Lyra, good morning Twilight." I walked over to get some breakfast from the table.

Lyra noticed I was ready to leave "You look like your ready for quite the day." I swallowed they hay in my mouth then turned to Lyra.

"I'm going over to hang out with Rainbow dash."

"Well it's nice to see your making new friends." Lyra was happy to see me happy.

Twilight turned to Lyra "Were headed out soon, hows bon bon?"

"She's been fine actually after her break up anyway. I've been doing what I can for her and all."

While they were talking I finished my breakfast, I walked over to the two "Alright Lyra, we're gonna head out."

"Okay, have fun." Lyra then left for home.

"Where are we gonna meet up after I get Rainbow dash?" I asked.

"All of the activities will take place in the field. I'm going invite some of the other girls so it's not awkward."

I nodded and zoomed off towards Rainbow dash's address.

I arrived at Rainbow dash's cloud house. I flew up and knocked on the door. I waited a bit and then the door opened inward to the sight of the Rainbow maned mare herself. "Oh hey Allan, ready to hang out?"

"Yeah, wanna head to the field?"

"Sure."

We headed to the field as I saw Twilight, Rarity and Applejack waiting for us. We landed next to the tree and walked up to them "Howdy there Allan and Rainbow."

I turned to Twilight while they greeted Rainbow "So what do you have planned for today?"

Twilight levitated a short list in front of me, the list itself had only three items on it. "My intention is to get these things done over the course of the week, in a curtain order."

"So I'm guessing we start the first three days with 'flight practice'?"

"Yeah, I thought Rainbow dash could probably teach you a few things."

"If that's the case then I'd like you to record all this." I gave Twilight the camera and she levitated it in front of herself. "Just press that button there, and it will start recording. To stop recording press it again." Twilight nodded her head and proceeded to examine the camera.

We walked over to Rainbow dash and Twilight told her what to do. "Sure, I can teach him a few moves, he's already better than the average Pegasus." Rainbow dash turned to me "Alright first let's start with some spins..."

The three days of training with Rainbow dash became some of the best three days of my life, and most painful. I was put through many physical exercises from 'wing ups' to two hours of none stop flight. In the end she seemed impressed with all my hard work. Next thing on the list was taking something called the 'loyalty test'.

Rainbow dash got me to go through a few situations where I had to help somepony out, two pony's each day for another three days with the help of Rainbow dash. The first was Twilight at the Library.

"So, let me get this strait. You want us to reorganize that shelf?" I pointed my hoof at the shelf named natural history, with over fifty books.

Twilight nodded her head. Me and Rainbow dash flouted up to the shelf "Do you... ...have any specific details?"

"Place them in historical order starting from the founding of Equestria all the way to modern lifestyles." I turned to Rainbow dash.

"We'll just guess."

For about half an hour we were shouted at by Twilight for getting the shelf order backwards... ...five times. After another half hour we finally finished reorganizing the shelf. Twilight rewarded me with ten 'bits' for the next time I go shopping.

Next was helping Applejack, she needed some help bucking some tree's.

Upon arrival Applejack introduced me to her big brother, and when I say big brother I mean he was way bigger then me. He looked calm compared to other ponies I've seen around ponyville.

Applejack led me and Rainbow dash over towards what looked like a private stock of tree's. "I count about thirty tree's."

"We need some more apples for next month's home supply, so you two will be bucking them apple's into those buckets, then me and Big Mac will take them in when your done."

Me and Rainbow dash started bucking the tree's as ordered. It was harder than I thought it would be, but considering I was no Earth pony I could understand why it was harder. After about an hour we were finished and I escorted Rainbow dash back to her home.

"Well the week has been fun so far."

I sighed "And tiring." Rainbow dash giggled a bit.

"Well that's what you can expect when your completely loyal to your friends."

We arrived at her cloud house "So Allan, I was wondering if you were going to the Gala."

Before I could answer her the cross-eyed mail mare interrupted "Letter here for Rainbow dash."

"Oh hey, thanks Derpy." Derpy gave Rainbow dash the letter and flew off.

"Anyway, I better be going, it's getting late and I have to check over all the things we recorded."

Rainbow dash opened the letter and confetti flew out "We invite you too the welcoming party for a new pony in town, the party will start after 12:00PM on Friday at Sugar cube corner."

"I guess we know what Pinkie's job for me is."

Rainbow dash yawned "Well lets get some sleep, we've got allot to do tomorrow."

We both said good night to each other and I flew back to the Library.

I entered my room and went to sleep, ready for whatever the world threw at me for tomorrow...

"...NOT THE BEE'S! NOT THE BEE'S, AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" I screamed in panic as a swarm of bee's chased me around Fluttershy's cottage. She asked me and Rainbow dash to help her feed the animals. The three things she told us to feed were a few rabbits with carrots, a few birds in their nests for the young, and a bee's nest.

Rainbow dash was laughing her hooves off as she watched me being chased by a swarm of bee's. "You need any help there Allan?" She asked while holding in her remaining laughter.

"AAAAAAAAHHH, THEIR IN MY EYE'S, AAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!"

Fluttershy eventually arrived with a bowl of honey and a bucket of flowers. "It's okay little guy's, I've got the flower's and honey."

The bee's stopped chasing me and flew strait for the bowl and the bucket. I stopped galloping around and walked up to Rainbow dash. "I can handle anything from being yelled at for messing up to flying across continents. But when you put BEE'S in the mix, I just can't handle it."

Rainbow dash wiped a tear from her eye "That was possibly the funniest thing I ever seen. Are you okay?"

"Yeah, other than the thousands of stings I received, both eye's by the way, I'm fine."

Rainbow dash and myself finished off what we were doing at Fluttershy's cottage and headed to Rarity's boutique.

When we arrived Rarity greeted while measuring my size "Well hello darling, I need you to model while I size the right suit for you when we all go to the Gala."

"I'm getting a suit?"

"Of course darling, you can't simply expect to take that vest of yours to 'The Grand Galloping Gala' can you?" I took the hint and got onto the model stand. "This won't take long darling I just need your size then you can go."

Rarity took ten minute's trying to find the right size fabric to put on the suit and then asked me to try out one of her pre-made suit's which took about twenty five minute's.

After she was done we left and like the day before I escorted Rainbow dash home.

On day six of the week Rainbow dash said she need some help cloud busting. I hurried over to her cloud house and she led me to where she needed help. Turns out she needed help clearing out some storm clouds from town square.

"So we just pretty much hit the clouds to get rid of them?"

Rainbow dash dragged a cloud and kicked it forcing it to break apart "Only with storm clouds you gotta break them fast or they'll merge with the others and create a storm." She looked around and saw a few storm clouds getting closer to each other. "You take the left, I'll take the right. Go!"

We both rushed towards the clouds on our sides of the sky. I flew through three fast, I took a glance over to Rainbow dash as she stormed through them with ease. I continued to bash the clouds like fight practice until I noticed a larger storm cloud. I could almost instantly tell a few clouds merged before we could get them.

Rainbow dash flew up to me, grabbed my hoof and dashed me towards the large storm "The best way to get rid of a merged cloud is with two ponies. You ready?"

"Yeah."

She skidded in the air and let go of my hoof launching me towards the cloud at top speed. I hit the cloud with force making it break apart into a bunch of smaller storm clouds. When I recovered from the launch I turned to see Rainbow dash destroying the remaining clouds. Once done, she hovered in front of me.

"Good job Allan, you did good back there. Hey it's almost twelve wanna head over to Sugar cube corner?"

"Yeah, I'm in, a party would be cool."

We arrived at sugar cube corner for the party. Upon entering, the light burst on and what looked like everypony in town yelled surprise. Then Pinkie Pie appeared out of nowhere "Hi there, I'm Pinkie Pie and I threw this party just for you. Were you surprised wereyouwereyouwereyou?"

"Yeah, I didn't expect every pony in town to be here."

"Oh don't be silly, I couldn't get EVERY pony in town. Sadly we're missing Lyra, she isn't in town at the moment."

My expression slightly changed, but I didn't let that get me down. "Oh well, this looks like it's gonna be a fun party."

Pinkies face lit up "Then LET'S GET THIS PARTY, STARTED!"

The party lasted a good five hours, about one were very memorable at that party though.

So, I may have gotten a little drunk. "I LOVE EVERYTHING!" okay I was really drunk.

"Is he okay?"

I turned to the stallion who said that. "YOU WHAT?! MATE, DON'T TEST ME MATE!" The stallion just so happened to be Applejack's big brother.

"Uh...."

"DRINKING CONTEST, NOW!" I dragged two gallons of an alcoholic drink I'd never heard of, but apparently it was strong.

"Um, I think you might of had enough already."

I tilted my head at him and twitched my eye "Mate, I'm way past that line! I...I'm like MILES past the line! HECK, I'm so far past the line that I can't even see it any more, AND IT WAS SLOPPED!!!"

He gave me a highly confused look "NOW DRINK MAN, or forever hold your piece."

He took the gallon of alcohol and opened the lid "Are you sure you wanna do this, it's suicide."

"READY? THREE TWO ONE GO!!!!" I stuck the top of the jug in my mussel and started gulping down the litres of alcohol while Big Mac just stared at me with an open jaw. I quickly started to draw a crowd.

"JUG! JUG! JUG! JUG!" the crowd cheered me on as I got a quarter through it without a break. Every drop that went down my throat was disregarded as my intention was to finish the whole thing in one.

After one minute and thirty seconds I finally finished, I slammed the jug onto a table and yelled "ANOTHER!" The crowd roared as I went over to get another gallon of alcohol.

Another hour into the party and I had drunk half the bar at this point, everypony in the room seemed to be in shock that I was still alive. I didn't care "I...I...I may be a bit... ...drunk so.... ...uh oh..." I suddenly felt the horrible sensation of heavy fluid raising through my throat. "Where's the Bathroom?!" Pinkie pointed up the stairs "Thank you." I then galloped up the stair's at top speed. I'll spare you the details but it was messy.

It was another hour before I went back downstairs, I walked up to Rainbow dash. "Hey big guy, you look like your having too much to drink."

I placed a hoof on her shoulder "Between you and me, I'm actually not that much of a drinker."

She looked me up and down "Yeah.... ....I can tell."

"I think I'm going to need a nice soft drink... ...and a taxi."

Rainbow dash giggled "Lets start with that soft drink shall we?" I nodded and she helped me over to the bar and ordered me a soft drink.

I couldn't remember a thing from there.

The next morning I woke up with the biggest headache I've ever had. On the bright side I was laying comfortable on a nice, cloud bed. I closed my eye's to rest a bit longer, until I realized... "Wait, I don't have a cloud bed."

"That's because it's not your bed." I looked over to the other side of the room. Rainbow dash was standing there looking at me. "I'm guessing you don't remember much of what happened last night either?"

"Nope."

"Well the last thing I remember was Twilight asking me if I could take you in for the night so I said sure."

I looked around then back to Rainbow dash "Is this your bed?"

"Yeah, I slept on the couch so you could have a good nights sleep when you woke up."

"Well that's very friendly of you Rainbow dash. Well shall we see whats for breakfast?" I got out of the bed slowly, still recovering from last night. We went into kitchen and Rainbow dash made some breakfast for us real quick so we could get on with the last days activity. After breakfast Rainbow dash gave me an Ice pack and I place it on my head. We then went over to the Library and Twilight told us to go to the field for the days activity. We walked over to the field and sat down I looked at the list Twilight had given me of the activities, today's being 'Relax'.

"Well, this week has been fun right Allan?" I replied with nod, I was nervous, clearly this was suppose to be the day I ask her to the Gala. I took a deep breath and was about to speak until...

"Hey Allan, can I ask you something?" I let her ask her question before I asked mine.

"Sure, what is it?"

Rainbow dash took a deep breath "I heard you were going to the Gala and I was wondering if, well, we could go together."

I was in shock that Rainbow dash asked me to go to the Gala with her "Do you mean like...?"

"On a date? You could say that." she was blushing a bit.

I almost feinted from the offer "Of course Rainbow, I can't drop an offer like that from you."

She smiled and hugged me "Well it's tomorrow afternoon so lets just relax for today and enjoy the sunlight." She rested her head on my shoulder. "It truly is going to be, the best night ever."
