Memories past
Epilogue
Previous ChapterNext ChapterHoofsteps echoed throughout the cave. A figure wearing heavy robes covered by lightweight metal armor walked down the stone hallway. On both sides of him were various furnishings, mostly workstations of various sorts with pieces of scrap strewn about. Ahead of him was the cave's exit. The pony stepped outside of the cave, looking out at Equestria. As his eyes fell upon the mountain city of Canterlot, a feeling of longing and regret found itself inside him. The pony turned around as he heard hoofsteps behind him. A white Unicorn mare wearing a military officer's uniform stepped up next to him.
"Oh. Hey." He said, turning back towards the view. "It's beautiful, isn't it, Juno?"
"Yeah." Juno replied. "And to think, we need to save it. It seems like a lot less compared to what we've done before." Juno Eclipse stepped further outside the high mountain cave. Her red eyes set on the sunset over the horizon. "Galen," Juno said, turning towards the other pony. "We don't have the resources we had when Lord Vader had us hunting Jedi. You know that this will be difficult, correct?"
Galen nodded, then removed his hood, revealing a beige earth pony with a shaved black mane. His hazel eyes stared off into the horizon. "Juno, if we're going to stop Thanatos, we need to find others capable of using the Force. Even then, assuming there are other Jedi that ended up like me, we won't be able to effectively use weapons without exhausting our Force abilities." Galen stepped out too, stopping right next to Juno. "But right now, our biggest problem is ourselves. We can't show our faces in public after what I did...By the way, sorry about Strato..."
"Don't worry. Remembering who I am made me like him even less." She said smugly. "Please don't pull a stunt like that again, though."
"Don't worry. I won't." Galen responded with a laugh. The two walked back into the cave. Galen stopped and looked to the bits of scrap metal, but he quickly moved on. "Juno, I think I know how I can get back out there." Juno gave Galen an intrigued look.
"Really? And what's that?" She asked.
"The name Vader gave me. I'll use it as a guise while I'm outside of the cave." Galen moved away from the table and place a hoof on Juno's back. "These robes can help, too. But we'll have to wait a while before we can actually leave."
"Wait, wait." Juno interrupted. "You're taking up the title of Starkiller again? Won't that seem suspicious? A pony with armored robes going by the name of Starkiller?" Juno rolled her eyes. "I'm sure that won't attract attention."
"It's not a perfect plan, but it's a plan." Galen responded. "Now, it's getting late. We need to get some sleep."
Juno nodded, then went deeper into the cave. "I'll be with you in a moment." Galen turned around, and walked back out to the cave's entrance.
He stood in front of the cave, overlooking Equestria once again. His eyes lowered as his mind went to Thanatos. An apparent Sith lord wishing to conquer Equestria. Galen sighed. He knew the task before him would be a long one. He reached out with the Force, many powerful Force-sensitives were out there. He found it odd, as some of them seemed familiar. Galen opened his eyes as he cut his concentration. He knew now that he wasn't the only dead Jedi in Equestria. Out of the many Force-presences he could sense, one stood out. This one was much more powerful than the others. Galen could not tell if it was light or dark, though. It was...gray.
"That one's the strongest though..." Galen said to himself. "I guess we'll look for you first." With that, Galen went inside the cave gain, passing a final glance at Equestria before finally heading in. As he walked deeper into the cave, he saw Juno already asleep on a pile of straw. Galen smiled softly and laid next to her. He had a long way to go, but he could sense that he would succeed. But for now, it was time to sleep.
The caves under Canterlot
"The time has come." A deep, aristocratic voice said. "Very well, child. Come find me." The figure concentrated, boosting their presence in the force. He waited until he knew that his presence was detected. "Now, I wait again." The figure said. Then he sat down in the center of the cave. He knew that he'd be found. And when he was, he would test this new arrival.
"Come find me, Jedi"
