A month had passed since the Battle Of Ponyville had concluded, and things were finally starting to calm down.

The reconstruction of Ponyville was well underway, though there had been some arguments when it came to the residencies for Twilight and Rarity, for the nobles had risen hell when they had made their requests.

The reason for this was due to the fact that they, along with her friends and the others who had been trapped in the pocket dimension had been crowned as Equestrian Royalty a few days after the battle, and it had not gone over well with the majority of the nobility, who had raised hell after the event, trying to overturn the old law which required they be made as such.

There was also a subset of that group that wanted them stripped of their power as alicorns, and have that same power transferred to them, so that those who were truly worthy of being alicorns would have the power.

Faust, who was someone many ponies were still trying to get used to being more then just a myth, had put her hoof down on that, explaining to them all that not only did many of them earn the power they now possessed, but she couldn’t remove their powers even if she wanted to.

Once it became clear that they would not be able to undo the fact that there were now thirty nine new alicorns to contend with, they decided to try and figure out other ways to limit their power, and this had come to a head when they had heard Rarity and Twilight were speaking with the construction crews about the plans for their new residencies, yelling about how they needed to stay in Canterlot, otherwise cities all across Equestria would be demanding there own princess in their city.

Eventually they had reached a compromise of sorts, Twilight’s, as well as the remaining alicorns new residence would be the Castle of The Two Sisters, which would coincide with an expansion to Ponyville that Mayor Mare had been desperate to have done so that way more ponies could move their families to town. In exchange, the bearers, there mates, and a few others would be allowed to do as they pleased when it came to where they wanted to live.

As for Luna, she was slowly adjusting to ruling on her own, though that had also come with its own challenges, especially as many of the nobility were angry with Faust due to the fact that she outright refused to take back her seat as the ruler of Equestria.

Of course many of them stopped wanting her to return to her seat once her relationship with Chrysalis was revealed, for despite the fact that she had helped to take down Everfree, many ponies still were angry over her actions during the Wedding as well as her takeover of Ponyville, and thus her reputation started to taint ponies perceptions of the noble Faust.

And Chrysalis was not the only one who was causing issues due to there existence, for word had gotten out that King Sombra was not only alive, but had returned to the Crystal Empire to resume his old post as Court Wizard. Due to this, Luna, as well as Twilight from her new seat of power, were faced with constant petitions from various nobles to have the former king extradited from the Crystal Empire so that he could face execution for his crimes against said empire.

Then of course were the rumors that Luna had used dark magic to drive her sister insane so that she could take the throne for herself, as well as the rumors that Twilight and Everfree were actually the same pony, and that she had posed as the two princesses lover in order to help Luna in her goal to take the throne.

Surprisingly, and ally who came to their defense against these rumors was non other then Prince Blueblood himself, who sighted his vast knowledge when it came to Soul Magic as well as Soul Thieves, and thus they were able to quell most of the rumor mongers, though the outliers held tight to the story.

Now, Faust was sitting in her room in Canterlot Castle, Chrysalis nestled up by her side, and was currently going over a letter from Twilight, who had begun writing her since she had moved into the Castle of The Two Sisters.

Dear Faust.

The renovations to the castle, as well as the newly built guardhouse, are finally finished, though part of me is still angry that I could not simply just rebuild my old home in Ponyville and live there, but politics be politics.

Anyways, everyone is slowly adjusting to there new lot in life, Applejack of course is proving the most stubborn of the bunch, she actually put all her guards to work on the farm due to not simply wanting them standing around doing nothing as she put it.

Fluttershy is actually adjusting quite well to being an alicorn, and she is actually utilizing her position quite well when it comes to animal conservation, which of course has many nobles pulling there manes out due to how thorough she is when it comes to those kind of laws.

Pinkie Pie is…well, she’s Pinkie Pie, she hasn’t let her new position change her life all that much, though she was forced to open up her own place of business due to the Cakes saying her new position was actually intimidating customers. In some ways its actually been good for them, because for a time the only competition they really had was Sweet Drops Confectionery, and with a third sweet business in town, its actually drawing in a lot more customers and thus increased sales.

I think the hardest ones hit by our ascension are Rainbow and Rarity, for Rainbow’s dream of being a Wonderbolt has pretty much come to an end, and Rarity is struggling due to not being able to find anypony willing to put real criticism to her work, as they do not want to offend royalty. Rarity I think will pull through, for she is really smart when it comes to the fashion world, but Rainbow’s one goal in life was to become a Wonderbolt, and without that she’s kind of just…lost.

As for me, I am doing my best to help organize the plans for the new expansion of Ponyville, for I want to make sure the Everfree Forest remains as intact as possible, though thankfully the castle is in the smallest section of the Everfree, I just hope the town doesn't become to big.

Anyways, I better wrap up this letter, Spike and his mother are visiting me today, and I have been looking forward to meeting her and getting to know her.

Faust sighed as she finished the letter, for while it had been informative, the part about Rainbow made her sad, for she knew better then most what it was like to have your dreams crushed by new obligations.

However, as she readied to lay her head down and join her love in sleep, another letter appeared before her, this one appearing in a burst of blood red magic and simply hovering before her in mid air, which told her precisely who it was from, and it was confirmed when she opened it and saw that it was written in golden ink.

Faust.

We know what you have done, Favorite.

Know that this action has not gone unnoticed by myself or the rest of the Council, nor have the other events that have unfolded gone unnoticed.

Know that we are gathering another moot, and we'll be making our way to you within the coming years, so make what preparations you must to accept us with all grace and formality.

And also know, that these new…Ascendant’s will be under my upmost scrutiny, so you best pray to your mothers mercy that they do not disappoint me.

She stopped reading after that, for the remainder of the letter was just his extensive list of accolades, and then snorted as she tossed the letter into the fire before letting out a disgruntled sigh, before finally laying her head down so that she could get some sleep.

After all, she could give everyone the bad news tomorrow.
