Corruption of Elements
Lake
Previous ChapterFluttershy took a long time herself to even work up the courage to move to the nearby lake. It had a beautiful view, and the surrounding forests almost made her lose her fear of the danger that may be lurking in the shadows. But that fear was quickly replaced when something splashed at the lake. She looked out, but saw nothing. Shaking a bit, she just kept on walking right up until she tripped over something half buried in the sand.
Falling forward on her large breasts, she squeals softly, only to quickly upright herself and look at what had tripped her. It looked to be a bottle of some sort, but the writing on the side made no sense to her. She decides it might be best to have Twilight take a look at it, so she holds onto it. She keeps on walking, seeing really nothing for the time being. But before long, she hears another splash in the water.
This time when she turns, she catches sight of something coming from the water. It looked about the same color, but it moved up onto the shore like some sort of goo. She quickly backs up, keeping her eyes locked on it. This was about the time the goo seemed to take the shape of an odd creature in the similar shape to hers. "U-uh, h-hello..." She decides to try and make contact. The goo figure just cocks its head at her, before moving closer yet.
Scared right out of her mind, Fluttershy simply bolts and runs for it. The goo stays behind her, just looking in confusion before it slinks back into the water. Fluttershy ran, then looked behind her. She saw nothing, and turned back, only to run headfirst into a large tree. She instantly falls back onto her rump with a pained yelp, dazed by the blow. She took a moment, before shaking it off and looking at the tree.
Sticking out of the trunk, she noticed the glint of something metal. She stands slowly, looking at it. It almost looked to be a sort of weapon. While not much of a fighter herself, she still decides it might be best to have something, if even just for decoration. So she takes hold on the handle of the weapon, and gives a weak yank. Even with her lack of strength, the sword pulls free and sends her again on her rump. She looks the weapon over, and it seemed to be a golden sword with odd scribbles on the blade. This was when a leaf fell on her.
She looks at the tree again, to see it withering away. "Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry!" She stood to try and do something to fix the tree, but before she could even touch it, it was dead. She whimpers softly, backing up a bit from it. She keeps her eyes on it for a moment, before turning away and continuing on. She held onto the sword and the bottle of odd liquid while she continues to look around the shore of the lake.
Then she spots a boat sitting on a old looking dock. She tilts her head in slight confusion, before she smiles and hurriedly walks to it. The dock creaks when she walks on it, but holds. She tests the boat, which seems sturdy enough. Deciding it'd be best to continue looking around, she walks from the dock and moves along the beach.
While she walks, she begins humming to herself. One really could get lost in this beautiful scenery. How could this be a place of evil, when it looked so wonderful? Her thoughts soon were interrupted by the sight of something else on the beach. It was hard to tell what it was, but it was large, had striped skin, a long, fish-like tail, and a sharp set of teeth. But it was reading a book?
Fluttershy was cautious now, slowly approaching this figure. Once close enough, she decides to speak up. "H-hello?" She barely had enough time to duck and squeal as the creature whips around and snaps those teeth at her. With her head down and hands trying to cover her head, she didn't notice the other creature stopping to see what had snuck up on them.
"Hey, you alright?" The creature asked. Fluttershy peeks up, to see a warm smile and extended hand. "Sorry about that, you just startled me."
"O-oh. I'm s-sorry." She got up, taking the hand of the creature, who helped her to her hooves.
"Not a problem. Name's Izma. How about you?"
"I'm... F-Fluttershy." She all but whispered.
"Pardon? Didn't catch that."
"F-Fluttershy." She tried speaking up a little.
"Oh, well, pleasure to meet you Butterfly."
"S-sorry. It's Fluttershy." She looked a little embarrassed.
"Ah. My bad. You were hard to hear." The creature smiles.
Fluttershy, now overcoming the fear of this seemingly friendly creature, looked at it. It appeared to be a shark almost, but with large breasts and a grass skirt. "So, Fluttershy, how can I help you?"
"Oh, uhm... I was just looking around. Trying to see what this place is."
"Well, as you can see, this is a lake, and that's a forest." The creature smiles and chuckles. "I've not been further than that, myself, but it's all good. This lake is pretty relaxing, and about the safest place from the Corruption."
"Corruption?" Fluttershy tilts her head. Izma began trying to explain what she knew about the corruption, where it came from, and how it affected her. After a while, the sun began setting, and Fluttershy stood from the sand.
"Well, this has been really nice, but I think I should be getting back to camp. My friends might be worried about me."
"Ah, not a problem. Have to bring them by some time. I'd sure like to meet them."
Fluttershy smiles and nods. "I will. Goodbye!" She waved as she began making her way back along the beach. Soon enough, the camp was coming back into view. She saw Rainbow Dash sitting in the middle, doing something. "Hey, Rainbow da-..." She stops dead in her tracks as she saw just what Rainbow Dash was doing, both their faces turning bright red.
Author's Note
This chapter has been half finished for who knows how long. Been etching a hole in my head, finally worked myself around to at least getting this one down. Been so busy as of late, getting back into full-time work.
Sorry if it's a little shorter. I've been trying to write, but I'm so tired by the time I get home, I can't keep anything solid going for very long.
