The Journal of Light "lightning" Streak

Well time does fly when you are a Pegasus and training as a part of the royal Canterlot air force(ha ha i made a funny).

so after the changelings attacked Canterlot and the air force was formed life was mostly normal well as normal as being part of the royal guard could be.

well after storm introduced me to books i started to read a few but mostly i was still spending time figuring out the whole lightning following me through the sky. It confused me because i could feel the static charge and the wind as it flowed over my fur and try as it might the wind could never stop me i always broke the sound barrier and then the lightning would catch me after that if i wasn't careful and led it into the ground or another cloud. the thing is if i didn't release the charge that i built up i could shock anypony i liked with the electricity. this was employed multiple times to the annoyance of my brother he usually took it with a grin though.

i finally put my brain to use on this problem and tried something new. i asked stormy to get a pair of comms and then flew subsonic in sight of my brother on our roof. he told me when the bolt started and i put all i had into breaking the sound barrier as the bolt caught up caught up casually. with a precision that is difficult to attain the bolt hit me as i went supersonic and the funny thing is i didn't feel a thing. stormy was yelling on the comm but i was to surprised to take anything in. "...it was amazing... never seen that before...what should we call it...new possibilities for science..." i came down and my brother looked a mix of excited fear and complete disbelief. " you just made a sonic lightning boom" he said "that has never been done before and im calling it that because of the sonic rainboom mentioned in myths of the fastest ponies". unfortunately for the both of us the place my brother got the comms from was my dads gear and let me just tell you that my dad is a member of the royal guard and so our entire conversation was heard by the tech ponies in the guard room at the palace. an immediate detainment followed as we were brought in by magic teleportation and then sent through a inquiry to our activities and then i was asked to try and do the light-boom again. i tried a hundred times and on the hundred and first time it happened again.dad came in to the tech both during the debrief and after being brought up to speed told me to take stormy home and then come back. much to his disagreement i carried stormy home then broke sound on the way back. my dad then told me he was proud of me and asked me if i would join the royal guard because speed was a valuable asset in the princess arsenal and i obviously had some hidden potential beyond just breaking sound easily. i told him i would think about it and after 6 months on my 20 birth day i joined the royal guard.
