It was midnight, stars twinkled and the moon gleamed all over Ponyville. In a cloud house above Ponyville, Dash was getting her gift ready. A humongous, fat dictionary was next to Dash - so she knew how to spell words that she didn't know how to spell. Rainbow groaned, dropping the pencil once finished. "I am done. Now to bring this to the library."
Rainbow grabbed the fruit basket with a strong grip as she flew to the Golden Oak Library. Being very sly, she made it to the library without nopony spotting her at all. The Pegasus dropped the basket and knocked on the door. Dash flew back to her cloud house, peeking out the window.
Twilight heard the knock and groaned. She used a lighter to light a candle on her coffee table beside her bed. The Alicorn levitated it and went to the door. As Twilight opened it, she just saw a fruit basket at her door.
"...who leaves a fruit basket at my door when it's midnight?" she asked herself.
The pale mulberry pony took the fruit basket, turned around to go back to bed. Her tail slammed the door closed, before she could get her tail stuck she got her tail in the library. Twilight put the fruit basket next to the banister and then trotted upstairs to go back to bed.
Rainbow Dash wondered if Twilight read the note she tied to the fruit basket. She shrugged, then flying right back to the bed. The Pegasus snuggled her blanket and her Twilight doll as she fell asleep. Drool leaked down her face and went up to her chin.
When the moon dropped and the sun rose, a rooster started crowing. Spike yawned as he woke, noticing Twilight was doing something peculiar while she still slept.
Spike tapped her softly, "Twilight! wake up!"
Twilight woke from slumber, then glaring at Spike. "Isn't it- Oh, it's morning... Sorry!"
Spike shrugged, "I only woke you up because you were moving in your sleep, well, you always do that....just not that way."
Spike then walked downstairs. He noticed a fruit basket.
"Who's this for, Twilight? Have a secret crush?"
Twilight trotted downstairs, "I received it, Spike. I don't know who's it's from and why that they sent it at midnight."
Spike ripped off an attached note.
"A note? This person really likes you, Twilight!" he said, then opened the note. It read:
"Dear Princess Twilight,
I've came to say that I love you. I am too afraid to confess, maybe a dinner can help you figure out who this is. I know you love me hopefully; that's because you've been so respectful to me. You deserved to be the Element of Magic, since you've caused magic to my heart the very first day I met you. Please, come to dinner at the Canterlot restaurant: Aliments Passionné. Please come tomorrow at 7:00 PM.
Love,
Anonymous Element of Harmony."
"I'm going to figure out who this is! Maybe it's a prank, Spike... Should I attend?" Twilight asked her number one assistant.
Spike shrugged, "Who knows? Just appear and get it over with."
"But what if I have to be all fancy! It might be Rarity who likes me!" Twilight just vibrated with a worried facial expression.
Spike just simply shrugged again and walked away.
Twilight stopped her vibration. "So, you're not going to help at all? I guess not, so could you help me now at least?"
"Later," he said. Twilight ran out the door, running to the Carousel Boutique.
She knocked, "RARITY! OPEN UP!" Rarity gritted her teeth, pausing her dress making. It was good to take a break anyway, Rarity had a lot to do.
"Come in, darling!" Twilight opened the door and then slammed it shut once she was completely in the boutique.
"You're a tailor...so mind helping me with some style? I need it...really badly! Please help me, Rarity! PLEASE!"
Rarity smiled, "Of course, Twilight, darling! I'd love to help! What's the occasion?"
Twilight sighed, "Some anonymous pony left a fruit basket at my door; a note was attached to it. The note said to meet the pony at Aliments Passionné tomorrow .They love me, so...why not show up?"
The tailor chuckled, "All right, darling. I'll make a few styles, then make sure one of them floats your boat tomorrow!"
Twilight left a grin a Rarity's generosity and then trotted out the Carousel Boutique's door.
Rainbow Dash spied on the whole entire thing. She burst out of her cloud house to perform some excited loops.
Twilight saw Dash so excited, "Hey Rainbow Dash! Why so loopy today?"
Rainbow stopped, then looked at Twilight. She blinked, trying to hide the butterflies in her stomach. "None of your business, e-egghead!"
Twilight then smiled at her, "Okay. Whatever you say." The Alicorn trotted back to the Golden Oak Library, her famous residence.
Dash collapsed on a cloud, "She smiled at me! Aw yeah! Just a hunch that the date with her will be just... so awesome!"
Spike at some gems while Twilight unlocked the door. The dragon then discontinued, "Hey Twilight! Just have to tell ya, your crush gave me these gems! Just kidding, while you were at Rarity's, I dug up some gems for me!"
Twilight giggled, "Do they have an aftertaste?"
Spike growled, "No! Don't you dare get your filthy hooves on my delicious gems!"
Twilight's smile faded away as she rolled her eyes at him for being so cruel to her. "My hooves are filthy? I recall washing them." The Alicorn trotted to a shelf, "I need to learn how to act on my first date. I can't just be clueless and look like a total moron!" She levitated a book and opened it; then read it. "This isn't helping at all! I'll just be myself, my whole entire self. The total nerd..."
"It won't be that bad, Twilight. Maybe that Element of Harmony loves you as a bookworm! I don't know that, because maybe it's Rainbow Dash." Spike said, trying to make Twilight a bit perky.
Twilight's eyes started to fill up with tears, "Spike, nothing will be fine. I don't know who it is. I can't predict the future...at all." Spike frowned and patted Twilight's head as she sobbed softly.
