"a new arcade?," Twilight asked, putting down the book she was reading.

Pinkie nodded vigorously. "Yup, and I thought everypony wanted to go, Rarity and Rainbow Dash already agreed, but I'm still trying to convince Fluttershy!," She explained hopping in place.

"Why would you invite Fluttershy, you know she doesn't like playing games that much.," Twilight stated.

Pinkie waved her hoof and smiled. "Oh Twilight, there's so much you haven't learned about Fluttershy's skills yet, she'll want to join; trust me!," She said, now hopping around Twilight.

Twilight looked around her library. "Huh, where's Spike, I thought he was going to help me with organizing the library.," She said.

The door opened and Spike walked in carrying several pieces of paper.

"There you are Spike, where have you been?," Twilight asked.

Spike raised up his claws to pause Twilight for a moment. "Now I know we were planning on cleaning the library and all, but I gotta admit that's kinda boring!," He sassed.

Twilight pouted angrily.

"But I think Pinkie's right, let's get out and live a little! I mean... what else is there to do with these tickets?," Spike said, holding up seven tickets in his grasp.

Pinkie waved her hooves wildly in the air. "IT'LL BE EXCITING!,"

Twilight rolled her eyes then smiled. "Okay, okay, we'll have a little fun.," She responded.

Pinkie and Spike jumped and high-fived each other. "TO THE ARCADE!," They both shouted.

Pinkie Pie, Twilight, and Spike walked together to the arcade that had recently opened, but it was hard to tell it was new because of all the ponies and other species that occupied it.

"Woah, this place is packed!," Spike said.

"Yup, everyone was excited to hear about this that they stampeded the place just to take hold of the good games and machines!," Pinkie said.

They went inside the arcade and saw the entire place was filled with ponies, griffons, manticores of all sizes, and even changelings.

"What in the world of Equestria are all of them doing here!?," Twilight asked aloud in shock.

This earned the attention of a certain crown coated colt with a beanie who was playing one of the nearby arcade machines. "Oh, that's because they all wanted to play games, too!," He states.

"B-But... SERIOUSLY, manticores and changelings, how do they even know how to play games in the first place!?," Twilight responded in confusions.

"Well, games ARE for everyone, right?," The colt asked.

"Still, it's not like they're actually good at them anyways!," She said aloud.

Everyone stopped their gaming and stared directly at Twilight, especially the changelings.

Twilight's eyes widened and she looked around. "Uh, haha... I mean... they're very good at games.," She said with a smile and very distinct laugh.

Everyone nodded and returned back to gaming.

"Well that was a close call.," Spike said.

Twilight sighed. "You think...?," She said.

"Wow Twilight, I didn't know you were that good at making a scene.," said a voice from behind.

The three turned around to find Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Fluttershy.

"You came along too Applejack?," Twilight asked curiously.

Applejack tilted her hat up and smiled. "Well, Dash here just kept pleadin' for me to come so I had no choice in the matter.,"

"You made it girls, I was so worried you wouldn't show up!," Pinkie cheered, speeding towards Fluttershy. "I'm REALLY happy that you came Fluttershy!," Pinkie said, hugging her.

"Y-yes, I thought about it and I wanted to try these games out.," Fluttershy said.

"I'm just here to beat the high scores, what's the max score and awesome pony would get on one of these games anyways?," Rainbow Dash said.

"I heard there were these great zombie shooting games I'm dying to try out!," Rarity said in a somewhat gruesome voice.

The group stared at Rarity with astonished expressions.

"What? You act like I don't seem like the type of pony who plays games like that.," She said swishing her mane.

Spike looked at the white coated mare with adoring eyes. "She gets cooler every minute.," he said with his mouth open and his tongue out.

Twilight used her magic to close his mouth and she looked at Pinkie Pie. "Now you've got us all here, but what game can we all play since they're all taken?," She asked.

Pinkie laughed and pointed her hoof over to a machine that wasn't taken, it had randomly flashing lights around it with floor electronic pads with lit up arrows, and on the screen it read Dance Dance Revolution.

"Dance Dance Revolution?," The entire party responded.

Pinkie nodded. "That's right, it was the only game here I thought we could all play together!," She said, racing towards the machine.

"Well since we're all playin' on the same game, this could be kinda fun!," Applejack said, walking to the machine as well.

Rarity groaned. "Can't we play something that's a little more "shooty", perhaps?," She said with a sarcastic smile, following Applejack and Pinkie Pie.

Spike stared at Rarity and Twilight shook her head then she turned to Fluttershy. "I don't mean to offend, but how were you pulled into coming, Fluttershy?," Twilight asked.

"Oh, I just thought it would be so fun to try out something new that I had to come and experience the wonderful,"

"She didn't stop until you said yes, didn't she?," Twilight said with a smile and deadpanned look.

Fluttershy hid her face behind her mane. "...it went on for hours, sorry.," She admitted.

Twilight facehooved and shook her head. "Don't apologize, it happened to me too.," She said, walking over to the machine with Fluttershy and Spike.

The group stood around the machine and Pinkie Pie was trotting in place along the electronic dance pads, preparing her moves for the game.

"So...um, how does this game work?," Twilight asked.

Everypony gasped.

The brown coated colt from before trotted in front of Twilight and gave a deadpanned expression with a smile. "Wow, it's like you''re not used to playing games, aren't you?," He asked.

Twilight blushed and shifted her eyes a little.

"She's sort of a bookworm!," Pinkie stated.

"She doesn't get out much.," Rarity said.

"She stays hogtied to her place like a bee to it's hive.," Applejack said.

"She's an egghead!," Rainbow Dash said shrugging.

Twilight gave a blank expression. "Gee, thank for the support girls...," She said.

The colt nodded his head. "Ah, so you're a newbie, well here's how the game goes!," He said standing on one of the dance pads.

The group watched the colt stand in place for seconds.

"Um, aren't you going to show Twi how to play?," Rainbow Dash asked.

The colt pouted. "Do you really think I'm going to waste my tokens on a tutorial?," He said with a confused look.

Pinkie held a golden token up. "I gotcha covered!," She put in a token on the side out of the machine and the entire station lit up and boomed out the words ", THIS IS... DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION!," through the speakers on the top of the screen.

"This game looks cool already!," Spike said with excitement.

Upon the start-up it showed two sets of four arrows on the opposite ends of the screen, and a fever bar at the bottom.

"The whole game's simple, really! All you have to do is to match the arrows you see on the screen with your movements, plus if you get high enough combos you go into fever mode which multiplies your points and enables you to use all 8 of the dance tiles, allowing you to use all 8 of the dance tiles, allowing you to perform free style moves for a short period of time!," He explained.

"Got all that down, sugarcube?," Applejack asked, looking beside her and saw Twilight writing on a notepad.

"Oh I think she's getting it.," Rarity said with a chuckle.

Fluttershy nodded.

"Now that I've explained it, time to show it to you!," The colt said, turning towards the screen with a competitive look. "Let's do it!," he sneered.

The screen blasted the words "ARE YOU READY?," then a countdown from three to one commenced and then it boomed "GO!,"

The colt immediately started off with simple dance movements with the four dances arrows, the group of ponies were impressed. Fluttershy broke her shyness for a while and had her eyes glues onto the screen and Rainbow Dash pouted as she flew in place.

"Pssh, is that all, this game looks so easy!," Dash said.

The colt gave a hidden grin and did a momentary pause on his 50th combo step, then the screen shouted out ,"FEVER MODE!," and instantly switched the music from soft and into hardcore techno. All eight dance arrows lit up on the pad and the entire screen turned rave-like.

"Oh...you haven't seen anything yet!," The colt said.

The screen had multiple arrows of the rainbow colors appearing at the same time, the colt started twisting and turning and even crossed hoof over hoof to pull the moves correctly. Everypony gasped and some of the surrounding griffons and changelings were focused on the colt's dazzling performance.

"NO WAY!," Pinkie screamed.

Everyone was waving their hooves and talons in the air as the colt continues to chain his combos and the score kept racking up. Rainbow Dash's mouth was wide open in awe. The game came to a close and the colt ended in a back flip, landing on all four hooves on the diagonal arrows. The crowd of the different species continued to cheer for him. The screen shouted "PERFECT COMBO!!!," and the highest record above the name of "MASH".

"Aw yeah, new high-score!," The colt cheered and he turned around to Rainbow Dash, who still had her mouth open. "Now, was THAT easy enough for you?," He smirked.

Dash shook her head and fell with her wings shut down on the opposite dance pad. "Uh...pfft, t-that's still really easy!," She said crossing her hooves, pouting and turning her face to the side. "I can do that too...," She mumbled.

Twilight finished writing and then she took off her focus off her notepad and smiled. "I think I understand how to play!," She cheered.

"Cool, hope you surpass even me, ma'am!," the said, giving a bow, then he jumped off the dance pad and headed back to his game.

"Wait darling, we didn't quite catch your name!," Rarity said hesitantly.

"Yea dude, who are you?," Spike asked.

The colt turned around and raised up a hoof. "The name's Button Mash!," He answered, then went back to walking away.

Everyone returned to their gaming as Button Mash went to play a game at the far end of the arcade, the group was still amazed to see a colt pull off such stylish dance moves on their game.

"That Button Mash kid was AWESOME!," Pinkie screamed, jumping up.

Applejack laughed. "He's got a real talent of bein' good at this game.," She stated.

"He was really amazing and his movements were so...flawless," Fluttershy added in.

The girls all laughed and kept talking about the skilled colt, while Spike had an unsure face and looked at the machine.

"Wait, didn't he make this game seem more difficult than it really is?," He asked.

The ponies laughing ceased and they stared at the dance pads.

"Now that you mention it...," Twilight said.

"I CALL FIRSTIES!," Pinkie shouted, inserting a token and starting up the machine.

"Oh yea, no way I'm letting that kid beat me, I'm up against you Pinkie Pie!," Rainbow Dash said, flying down on the opposing dance pad.

"You are so on, Dashie!," Pinkie responded.

"I don't know girls... shouldn't we at least practice before we actually try playing this game on a high difficulty?," Twilight asked.

4 minutes later...

Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash each ended with a unique signature pose, giving them an equal amount of points in the end.

"Wow...," Twilight said as she turned her attention away from her notepad.

"Now that was too cool!," Dash cheered, flying into the air.

"I know right, just look at our score!," Pinkie said, pointing her hoof at the screen.

Both ponies made an equal score of 715,330 points, earning 8th place in the high scores list.

"That was one hay of a performance, think ah could give it a shot?," Applejack asked.

"Ooh, me too, me too!," Rarity asked, excited as a filly.

"I also want to try..! Please?," Fluttershy asked.

Twilight looked at all of her friends who were excited to dance and laughed.

"Hey, it says we can play tag team on here, it'll take two tokens though! Wanna try it out?," Pinkie asked.

"YES!," the entire group shouted.

"I call being Rarity's partner!," Spike said.

The teams were divided, Rarity and Spike versus Fluttershy and Applejack, Rarity and Applejack started things off.

The song Flow started to play and the two ponies got ready, Rarity's head was rocking with the beat and Applejack's hooves were ready to go. The screen said "ARE YOU READY?" then the countdown from three to one commenced and then the machine boomed "GO!". The song was medium difficult, but Rarity had a somewhat sluggish start, while Applejack hit the arrows exactly on point.

"W-Whoa, whoa, t-this was a bad idea!," Rarity said now unsure of the rhythm of the song.

The machine paused the song with a quick stop and announced "TAG IT!," then Rarity tagged in Spike and Applejack tagged Fluttershy, the dance pads' color faded and the screen restarted it's music. Fluttershy stretched her wings and swished her mane. Spike readied with a mustache on.

Twilight stared at the baby dragon. "Why would you need a mustache at a time like this, Spike?," She asked.

Spike shrugged. "I dunno, kind of gets me into the groovy mood I guess.," he replied.

The machine's music started again, but this time it was dub-step music then it shouted "GO!". Spike started breaking out into Micheal Jackson moves and Fluttershy was shaking in her hooves, standing there out of stage-fright.

Come on Fluttershy, Ah know you can do it if ya try!," Applejack said, supporting her friend.

Fluttershy nodded her head, gave a deep breath and spread her hind legs and stretched her wings and flew up then spun down posing like a ninja. She started to break dance as she switched from flight mode to ground, hitting all the arrows on perfect times.

"Whooooooa!," Twilight and Pinkie Pie said together.

Soon Spike and Fluttershy were both in Fever Mode then they switched positions with their partners. Rarity finally had a feel of the beat as the songs quickly converted from dub-step to Flow simultaneously, which... made her wobbly with her dance steps again. The two teams were on the home stretch as Spike and Fluttershy were both in Fever Mode, but Spike accidentally slipped on his fallen fake mustache and fell causing a lot of misses and "BAD" signs to start popping up. In the ends of all the mayhem, the song ended and Applejack and Fluttershy came out as the winners, the screen had shown that they've accumulated 831,580 points in 4th place of the high scores, while Spike and Rarity had 430,000 points.

"Ow...this hurts...," Spike groaned as he was laying on his face on the dance pad.

"Ooooweee, that was some mighty fine dancin' Fluttershy, where did ya learn those moves!?," Applejack eagerly asked, nudging Fluttershy.

"W-Well...it just sort of happened, Applejack.," Fluttershy said blushing.

Rarity helped Spike out of his position and dusted him off.

"The mustache was a tad too much...," She stated.

Spike downed his head feeling guilty of their loss.

"But... it did make you a little "cooler"...," Rarity said with a smile.

Spike's head rose and he grinned widely showing his sharp teeth.

"Really!?," He asked.

Rarity nodded her head. "Of course Spikey Wikey, now how about we go and try out those zombie shooting games?," She insisted.

Spike shook his head vigorously. "You bet!,"He said, following beside his mare pal.

Twilight looked at the whole scenario that went on and Pinkie and Dash returned from the mini diner found near he entrance of the arcade.

"Okay, so I ordered us some after game cake!," Pinkie announced.

"After game cake? How's that any different from normal cake exactly?," Twilight asked.

"Well I'm gonna guess since it's cake you eat after you game, Twilight.," Rainbow Dash said rolling her eyes.

"I-I knew that, it's just...," Twilight waved her hoof. "Nevermindgirls, mind if I play a few solo level for a while... I'm still new to this game and I have no idea how to play.," Twilight asked.

Pinkie nodded and smiled. "Of curse you can! I can wait and help you if you want!," She said hopping over to Twilight. "I even know this awesome combo cheat code I picked up when I played a few times ago!," She whispered to her.

Twilight gave a small grin. "I'm... sure Ill be fine Pinkie, haha.," She responded.

Pinkie shrugged. "Suite yourself~ ," Pinkie said.

Twilight began to do a trial of solo dances as Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash watched, Fluttershy and Applejack went to go play air hockey, and Rarity and Spike were dominating the zombies in their shooting games. Hours passed, night had fallen and the arcade was still up and running. Few of the changelings and ponies left to go home and sleep as the manticores were conveniently nocturnal and immune to sleeping so late. Rarity, Pinkie, Spike, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash stood around the Dance Dance Revolution machine waiting for Twilight to come back with their treats and after-game cake.

"I actually enjoyed our time here.," Rarity said.

"Yea, we did have a smashing time, didn't we?," Spike said in an English accent with his mustache on.

"Don't you mean smashing zombie brains?," Rarity asked with a smile.

"You know it!," Spike said high- hoofing Rarity.

"Me and Fluttershy had loads of fun with air hockey and that water surfin' game! Ah didn't even know she was that good at playin' games!," Applejack said putting her hoof over her yellow coated friend.

Fluttershy's face blushed and she smiled over the flattery.

"You should have seen me own in the metal gear solid, I was all like bzzzzt, BOOM BOOM BOOM, pew pew pew!," Dash said flying, imitating the actions and sounds that were going on in the game.

Her friends laughed, then Button Mash walked over, drinking from a slush.

"Oh look it's Button!," Pinkie shouted.

The colt proceeded sipping his drink, waving his hoof. "Hmm yuh!," He mumbled through his straw.

Rainbow Dash flew over to him. "So what brings ya back?," She asked.

Button stopped drinking and spoke. "Well I got a message from one of my changeling friends that you wanted to challenge me, right?," He asked.

Everypony looked at him with confused expression.

"Sorry there, partner, don't rememberin' any of us schedulin' a face off with ya.," Applejack stated.

'Yes, we were all busy killing time on our games.," Rarity stated.

"Don't you mean killing zombies!," Spike said with a laugh, then high-hooved Rarity again.

"We're sorry if you got a false message of a challenge, Button.," Fluttershy said.

"Oh, well that's a bummer!," Button said frowning.

"I kinda felt like going against some pony too!," He pouted, sipping on his slushy again.

"Actually I'm the one who issued the challenge!," Said a voice from behind.

The group turned around and found that it was Twilight, who had a serious look on her face and while sporting some slick black shades.

"Twilight!?," They all said.

"Aww...where's the cake...," Pinkie said under her breath with her cheeks slightly puffed up.

"Hey!," Rainbow Dash shouted, she flew over to Twilight. "I've been looking for my shades all day!," She said pouting.

"Heheh... sorry Rainbow Dash, I needed them so I could look ... cool, you know?," She said handing hack Dash's shades.

"Eh, actually they make me look 20% cooler!," She said with a smirk, putting on her shades.

"Why not 100%?," Twilight asked.

Dash tilted her shades down a bit and stared at Twilight. "Is this really the time to worry about that? Now go ahead and tell Button about your... whatever it is!," Dash said.

"O-oh right, Button Mash, I challenge you to a dance off!," She said.

Button finished his slushy and threw it in the side of the trash can far away from him.

"Three points!~" Pinkie cheered.

"Okay then, if it's a dance off you want then it's a dance off you'll get!," He said with a serious and excited tone.

"Wow, didn't know Twi was THAT good at bustin' moves that she'd wanna challenge a colt like him.," Applejack said, surprised.

"Don't you mean busting zombie skulls!," Rarity and Spike said in unison.

"Would ya'll cut those zombie puns out already!," Applejack said in an annoyed tone.

"Don't you mean cutting off zombie heads!," The duo said again, high-hoofing each other.

"...mmg...," Applejack grumbled under her breathe.

The entire arcade was packed filled with gryphons, manticores, changelings, and even more ponies tonight because of Twilight Sparkle's and Button Mash's Dance Dance Revolution Showdown.

"Whoa, this placed is like so PACKED!," Pinkie shouted.

"Is having this many ponies and creatures here needed for their dance off?," Spike asked.

"I do agree, what makes this event so special?," Rarity asked, messing with her mane.

"I heard that the winner will get 5,000 bits and free passes to this arcade," Fluttershy stated.

Rarity and Spike stared at each other, blinked once, and returned they're attention to the field that was set for Twilight and Button to dance on.

"Go Twilight, WOOT!," Spike cheered.

"Show them what you're made of, darling!," rarity cheered as well.

Applejack rolled her eyes and smiled.

Twilight was up on a heightened Dance Dance Revolution stage that had a full set up, it had strobe lights, speakers on all corners and had specialized lazer lights appearing on the side of the machine. "How did the machine get all of these things in the first place!?," Twilight asked looking out at the crowd.

Pinkie jumped out of the crowd and right in front of twilight on stage."Well I was looking at the different modes you and Button could play and underneath Team Dance Battle was Super Extreme Dance Dance Revolution Dance Off mode!," She explained.

Twilight had an awed expression. "Seriously!?," She asked.

"Yes! And it only costed three tokens, that's like the BEST DEAL EVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!," Pinkie screamed, jumping back and crowd surfing.

"Three...token...what?," Twilight said under her breathe then she looked at the arcade manager at the back of the crowd. He held up a sign that said "That mode is kinda new" and shrugged.

Twilight gave an eerie expression. "Maybe... I shouldn't ask Pinkie about that... though it does seem like the best deal ever!," She said, somewhat convinced.

Button walked up on stage sporting a mustache.

Twilight gave a deadpanned look at him.

"What..?," Button asked.

twilight held her hoof out to pause him for a moment. "Let me guess, it gets you in a groovy mood?," She asked.

Button's eyes widened. "How'd ya know!?," He gasped.

Twilight smiled and directed her eyes towards Spike in the crowd. "Lucky guess.," She said.

"Okay then, it's time we go this,"

Button was interrupted. "GET THIS PARTY STARTED!,"Shouted some pony who erupted from below a hidden square among the tiles of the DDR stage. It was Vinyl Scratch, who started scratching her records on a dj table.

Twilight shot an awkward glare to her then back at Button. "Huh!? We even get to dance with an actual DJ!?," She asked.

Button smiled and nodded. "I know, it's awesome, right!?," He said.

Twilight looked at Pinkie out in the crowd, and Pinkie returned a happily confused stare back. "...three tokens, huh?," She said to herself.

Vinyl started to scratch her records and dub-step music started playing and lazer lights reacted in changing colors as she drastically modified the music. "Alright everypony, this is gonna be a Dance...NO AN EPIC DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION DANCE OFF!," She shouted.

The entire crowd was hyped up as they screamed, then the stage lit up and music started to fade away as the screen began to randomly choose the difficulty, which came out as "Hardcore". Twilight gulped and Button smirked care-freely.

"SWEET! The hardest mode, the difficulty's set, everything's all checked, let's get ready to roll!," Vinyl shouted.

The stage light started to dim and the crowd's cheering was fading and the machine's screen started the music. "Flow" started to play through the speakers. Twilight and Button readied themselves, the screen zoomed the words Are You Ready? then it went into a three to one countdown then the two began to dance.

Hardcore mode was much different than the other modes, it had a spin around marker in the center where they stood and the arrows could now be stepped on and held on if the screen showed it. The music started and the beats of the song's base was vibrating the entire DDR stage, making it difficult to pull off moves, though this didn't faze Twilight and Button and the two were dancing in sync. Soon Flow had ended and everypony cheered the two on, Twilight and Button shrugged.

"Wow, that was easy!," Twilight said.

"I know right, such and easy song!," Button added in a laugh.

"Hey!," Rarity said in the crowd, puffing her cheeks in anger.

Applejack snickered a little and returned her attention to the dance pad.

Vinyl Scratch announced that she was starting the second song which was Trip Machine Climax, the crowd settled down and the dance floor started to glow.

The entire arcade was silent for a second then an alarm went off, which frightened Fluttershy, then the screen started counting down along with the rhythm of the song's bass drop beats ten boomed "GO!" through the speakers. The song was difficult to Twilight because she hadn't practiced on any of the songs that had large bass drops that Trip Machine Climax had. Button was spinning on his two front hooves simultaneously, keeping up with the pace of the song, Twilight was on all four of her hooves in awe.

"Wow, look at him go!," Twilight said, but then she instantly missed 2 of the arrows and her combo was broken.

"OH NO!," Pinkie screamed.

The song came to a close and the machine's screen had shown Button had a x326 chain and Twilight had x36.

"Oh my, I think Twilight's in trouble of losing.," Fluttershy said with her hooves covering her face.

"Dun-dun-DUNNNNNNN," Vinyl said over her microphone on her dj table.

Twilight had a worried expression on her face and she started to sweat.

"Come on, Twilight, show that Button Mashin' colt who he's messing with!," rainbow Dash cheered.

Twilight smiled.

The machine started to play the nest song which was So Deep, Twilight loved the flow of the music and the countdown commenced.

"GO!" boomed through the speakers again.

Button was on the move once more, racking up his combos again. As the song was playing, Button was still combo-ing his dance moves and focused on Twilight's side of the screen, he had an astonished expression on his face.

"W-what's... wrong with Button, he looks as if he's seen a ghost!," Said of the ponies from the crowd.

"Hey, check out Twilight's score dude!," said a changeling who pointed to Twilight's score.

Twilight's score multiplier went from x36 to x128 in less than a few seconds. Pinkie gasped with her eyes open and clapped her hooves and jumped about.

"I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!~," She sang as twilight had her eyes shifted to see her.

Twilight continued to jump on all four hooves stepping on the up, down, left and right arrows in unison. "I said I wouldn't use the cheat, but... this is a dire moment.," She said under her breathe.

The song came to a close and most of the crowd was in silence. Vinyl Scratch tilted her shades down a bit and had her mouth open. "Whoa, did NOT see that coming!," She said over her microphone.

Button looked at Twilight with suspicion as he checked both of their score multipliers, he was at x410 and Twilight was at x405.

Twilight gulped. "I-is there a problem, Button?," She asked nervously.

Button's face turned content, looking like he was impressed. "Not bad for a newbie.," He said smiling.

Twilight gave a small sigh of relief and joy. "Oh, thank you!," She replied.

Button raised his hoof high. "Doesn't mean I'm gonna let you win thought, haha!," He said.

The two ponies gave a competitive look on their faces and readied for the next song. The machine started the choose the next song which was SAKURA and the speakers started thundering "GO!".

The music was really traditionally techno and the arrows on the screen started to pick up, the spinning symbols started lighting up and Twilight and Button were neck and neck. Everyone was amazed that they could keep up with that pace. The song was almost done and the two did a spine and had both of their front hooves planted firmly on all 4 of the diagonal arrows. The crowd went wild and cheered for the two striking ponies who had had the largest score chains by far.

"Cool, Twilight's actually good at video games!," Spike cheered.

Applejack looked at the little purple dragon. "You sound like ya doubted her there for a second, Spike.," She pointed out.

"W-what, um, nooooo....," he said twiddling his talons. "...okay, maybe a little, but LOOK AT HER NOW!," He shouted.

"We're just getting started Twilight, hope you're ready to flop!," Button said with a smirk.

"Oh no, you'll be the one who ," Twilight was interrupted by a shout.

"TWILIGHT!," Rainbow Dash shouted.

"Huh?," Twilight turned and was tossed a pair of shades.

"THOSE WILL HELP YOU WIN!," Dash yelled.

"WHY ARE YOU GIVING ME THESE, DON'T THEY MAKE YOU 20% COOLER!?," Twilight asked.

"HEY, YOU'RE THE COOL ONE RIGHT NOW, HEHEH!," Dash responded, saluting in the air.

Twilight smiled. " Looks like I just got...," She slipped on the shades quickly. "20% Twilightlicious~," She ended crossing her front hooves.

The crowd had gone silent and Vinyl scratched behind her ear in confusion.

Twilight froze in her position and tilted up the shades. "I...don't get it...," She said bluntly.

Everyone shrugged at each other.

"Um...no one gets what you said.," Button commented while laughing a bit.

"Darling, just say you're 20% cooler like everyone else does.," Rarity said, walking up front to the stage.

"Haha, r-right.," Twilight said with a distinct laugh.

After Twilight had gotten accustomed to Rainbow Dash's shades, she and Button prepared themselves on the dance floor.

"Those shades look pretty cool!," Button complimented.

"I know right!," Twilight said smiling.

"Not as awesome as my mustache but...," Button smirked.

Twilight tilted the shades down a bit and spat her tongue out playfully at the brown colt. "You're just jealous!," She said.

Vinyl scratched her records and the lazer lights were responding to the reactions of her skills. "Alright everypony it's time we,"

A brown coated mare walked up to Vinyl and started whispering to her, their conversation could be heard a little from the microphone. "We have a performance to attend, Vinyl; can't we hurry this up?," Said the pony talking to Vinyl.

"Chillax, Octavia, you can't rush DDR, ya have to get lost in the flow.," Vinyl replied.

"Can't you get lost in the flow some other time, I've practiced all night for this.," Octavia said.

"Ugh, c'mon, you're such a killjoy! Fiiiiiiiiiiiine, I'll speed it up.," Vinyl replied, ending in a groan.

Octavia left the stage and Vinyl put back on her headphones. "Okay twilight and Mash, looks like we're kickin' it up to a hyper dance sudden death battle!," She said scratching her records again.

"A hyper dance sudden death battle!?," Twilight, Button, and the crowd repeated.

"What in tarnation is that?," Applejack asked.

"It's where all the songs are mixed up into a single round at Fever Fast Mode, the ULTIMATE test of true dancing speed and perfection.," Vinyl answered in a hyped up manner.

Everyone cheered and made noises to accept that it was a great idea. Twilight and Button looked at each other.

"What do you say, Twilight, are you game?," Button asked as he caressed his mustache.

Twilight smirked and showed a serious expression behind the shades. "I'm game!," She replied readying on the dance pad.

Vinyl trotted near the two stationed ponies. "Oooooooh, no no no no!," She said putting her hooves up to stop.

"W-what's wrong?," Twilight asked.

"Oh, you won't need these lame dance pads anymore!," Vinyl stated. She pushed a button on the side of the machine and the dance pads disappeared out of the side beneath the stage floor.

"Whoa, so cool!," Button said.

"Not cool! Where do you expect us to dance then...!?," Twilight panicked.

Vinyl smiled and held up her hoof. "Wait for it....," She said.

The entire room went dark for a second and screams could be heard, then the lights turned back on and a huge disco ball with lazers shooting out of it at every corner of the arcade was stationed at the very top of the ceiling. A few fireworks were shooting out of the sides of the stage. There was even a spotlight that shone down on Button, Twilight, and Vinyl at the very center of the stage.

"Whoa, this is so... AWESOME!," Rainbow Dash screamed.

"It looks like party mania here!," Spike said.

"I'll say, WEEEEEE!," Pinkie agreed as she began crowd surfing.

"Everyone was mesmerized by the set up and the focus was back on the three ponies on stage.

"S-so what does all this have to do with my question?," Twilight asked looking around.

Vinyl gave a wild smile and held both of her front hooves up. "This ENTIRE stage is your dance pad!," She shouted.

"So... we'll be using actual dance skills!?," Twilight asked.

Vinyl nodded her head. "Aw yeah!," She said, trotting back to her dj table.

"Uh oh...," twilight said gulping.

Button along with the crowd and the dance floor was lighting up with different colors.

"Oooooh, I sense a dance number coming on~," Pinkie cheered.

"Alright everypony, time to wrap this Dance Dance Revolution dance battle up, this is a hyper sudden death dance off, so let's get it started!," Vinyl shouted so that everyone could hear, the music instantly started.

Button Mash and Twilight Sparkle started dancing to Healing Vision, which had an extremely hard to match beat, but that didn't phase the two as they danced on the dance floor to their heart's content.

""Am I... actually dancing!?," Twilight said with a surprised look as she watched herself pull off moves she never thought she was capable of doing.

"Heh, now do you see the power of Dance Dance Revolution!," Button Mash said with a smirk.

Pinkie Pie was bobbing her head to the music and started shaking," Oh my Celestia, I...can't...TAKE IT ANYMORE!," Sh screamed as she jumped from out of the crowd and right onto the stage.

"Wohoho, looks like we've got some company on the dance floor!," Vinyl Scratch announced.

Pinkie started dancing along with Button and Twilight then the song rapidly switched to La Di Da
and made the changelings stomp their hooves with the beat of the techno flow and a few immediately joined in beside Pinkie Pie repeating the catchy phrase "La di da".

Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack stood there in astonishment as they saw an entire dance party happening in front of them.

"Whoa there, that's one hay of hoedown they've got there!," Applejack said.

"Agreed! I'm just amazed!," Rarity said with an impressed expression.

Rainbow Dash squished her cheeks with her hooves. "So... AWESOME," She reacted.

"What do you think Fluttershy?," Applejack asked, looking around the remaining crowd for her. "Fluttershy? Fluttershy where'd ya go?," Applejack panicked.

"Oh dear, Spike has vanished as well!," Rarity said in a worryful way.

Dash looked above the stage and spotted the two missing figures. "Hey look, they're up on stage!," She said.

"WHAAAAAAAT!?," Applejack and Rarity replied.

The entire crowd's focus was on the stage and the points for Button and Twilight continued to sky rocket up. Both have reached over 1,200,000 points, amassing the overall high-scores tremendously.

Twilight sported a huge smile as her body continued to enjoy the flow of the music, then she looked behind her and spotted Pinkie and about half of the crowd dancing along with her and the rivalrous colt. She smiled. "I never knew gaming could bring friends and even those who you thought were enemies together...guess I do have a lot more to learn.," She thought to herself.

Jump Jump Jump continued to finish up and Vinyl made an announcement.

"Alright everyone, looks like we're down to the final song, hard to say who's in the lead since...," Vinyl stopped, thought for a second and continued on. "You know what, there's no winner at all.," Vinyl said nodding her head.

"HUH!?," Everyone reacted, turning around the stage to stare at the mare.

"Whoa, then that's like... a draw, right?," Button Mash asked.

Vinyl smiled. "You're all having fun and it'd kinda be a downer if there was a winner, you know?," She said. "So, I'll say... EVERYONE WINS!," She said putting up her hooves in the air.

Everyone was silent for a while as the lights continued to spin around the arcade. "YEEEEEAAAAH!," Bulk Biceps responded. The entire arcade roared as everyone suddenly bursted into happiness and accepted Vinyl's decision.

Octavia approached Vinyl with a smile. "Well...," She said "I suppose your playing around wasn't just for show, Vinyl.," Octavia said with a bit of guilt. "I-I didn't mean to rush you but ,"

Vinyl interrupted. "It's all good, I came to see this happen anyways.," She said, staring at the many ponies, changelings, manticores and griffons laughing together. "Time for that last cue.," She said, switching the song.

Jump Jump Jump faded away and a rising tone in the next song played as a beat followed.

Pinkie Pie bobbed her head once again "Hey, this song sounds so familiar~," She said.

Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash stood in what little of the crowd was left.

"... ooooh, I can't take this any longer, I'm joining in!," rarity said trotting to the stage.

"Count me in!," Dash said, speeding behind Rarity.

"Me too!," Applejack said, following Dash.

The entire dance floor was occupied, Twilight and Button waited as the music steadily approached.

"I kind of never expected this!," Button said.

The changelings started stomping their hooves.

Twilight laughed. "True, I thought this was going to be a regular dance off, but it turns out I was wrong.,"

The manticores started clapping.

Button Mash smirked. "Yea but hey, you don't regret al of this stuff that's going on, right?,"

The music started to play in full effect.

Twilight shook her head. "Not at all, Button, not at all!," She replied as everyone immediately started dancing.

Dear Princess Celestia,

It's not like me to play video games and I know that I'm a bit of a bookworm, but today I've learned that games are another way

you can connect to your friends even those who aren't of the same species as you. I've have a lot more to understand about

After the dancing...

"The arcade manager told me that there was an even HIGHER high-scores list hidden within the leaderboards!," Button stated.

"Really?" Twilight asked. "You mean that there could be other ponies or species better than us!?,"

Button shrugged and shook his head. "I'd doubt that, but it's worth a check.," He said, throwing the idea aside.

Button scrolled through the lists of high-scores above the normal view of the leader boards, Twilight and Button spotted they're names in the very top.

"Ha!, I knew it!," Button said, arrogantly.

Twilight laughed, then took a second look at the high scores and had a worryful expression about her. "Um... Button... you may want to take another look..."

Button gave a confused glare to her. "Huh, why?," He asked as he looked at the machine's screen again.

It turned out they were placed in 2nd place with the same high-score, which made Button erupt with rage.

"What!? H-how is that possible!?," He said putting his hooves over his ears. "How could we be 2ND PLACE!?,"

Twilight was wondering herself. "Wait, if we were 2nd place in the higher high-scores...who could be in first?," She asked.

They hesitantly scrolled up one more and above all the ranked scores was a nickname of "DERP". Both of the ponies jaws dropped.

They sat there staying at the tag of "DERP" for minutes which felt like hours to them.

.... yup, the true victor~

Talk about n absence that never ends, I realize I've barely been "active" here and my last post was about 5-7 months or so. Sorry about that, seems I'll be having "late-to-the party" moments since I'm now part of the "adult world" or so my close people say, I'm finding time to continue fan fictions...just...they won't be as daily as they used to be.
