With a look of distaste falling on the young mare's face, the chef began to weep. Silver Spoon, Ponyville's top food critic, had not liked his dish.
With a soft tone she merely said, "Maybe next time you'll actually use ingredients in your dish rather then trying to magically make one?"
With that one sentence being the only thing she needed to say to prove that his food wasn't up to par. She could have continued on, but seeing a grown stallion cry isn't as fun as one would think. In a swift motion she got up, put her napkin on the table and turned to leave the restaurant but a hoof stopped her. The chef had place his right hoof on her shoulder and with tears running down his face he looked into her eyes, only to see a cold, lifeless stare return his gaze.
"Sir, your embarrassing yourself, please stop. Also I think you got a bit of jam on me."
His hoof fell to his side, his will broken but not forever, because this was the third time he had been rejected by her. First was a blue berry pie, second was a pumpkin pie, this was a jamberry short cake. But each time, the same distasteful look had shown up on her face. The mare was a tough pony to please, once failing a chef for saying the name of the dish wrong. But as he thought about her she had already walked away, ready to write a review of her experience to be put into the Sunday paper. However as ready as she was, spying a orange pegasus didn't let that happen. It was her mare friend, Scootaloo, who had been window shopping.
"Scootaloo!" Silver Spoon had called out as she was walking across the street. "I'm so happy that I ran into you. I just got done for the day."
Scootaloo smiled at Silver Spoon, her hooves quickly wrapped around the gray mare as she spoke into her ear, "Well it's a good thing you were done quick, I was needing to ask you about something important."
