A gray mare entered the town of Ponyville with bags under her eyes, hair sticking out everywhere and bones showing. Her tired red eyes searched the bustling town for any friendly faces. Slowly walking through the crowd, a white mare with a curly purple mane gasped at the state the mare was in. She ran up to her, gasping again.
"Oh, my dear! How could you let that happen to your mane! No buts, you're coming with me, darling." She ushered the beaten up visitor to the Carousel Boutique before calling her friends, informing them of what she had found.
"You must be famished, my dear. Let me get you something." She said as she trotted up to the gray mare. "Renegade.." She murmured.
"What's that?" She turned and faced her.
"My name.. Renegade.." Renegade spoke, louder this time.
"Renegade, what a beautiful name. You can call me Rarity, my dear." Rarity smiled to Renegade before strolling to the kitchen.
Renegade closed her red eyes, but not before taking in the area she was in. She was finally here.. Ponyville.. She could finally begin what she had planned years ago...
Renegade stopped by town hall, catching her breath. She hook her mane out. Great, now she's got a hyper pink pony watching over everything she does. She quickly glanced behind her to check if Pinkie Pie had followed her. She let out a sigh of relief as she saw no sign of the party pony. She looked ahead and grinned as her eyes landed on the town hall. "All made out of wood, huh..?" she said under her breathe. She looked around her at the houses that littered the place. All made out of hay and wood. She certainly had a good choice with towns. Something suddenly hit her from behind, causing her to stumble. "Ack!" she sputtered, turning around to see a yellow pony with a light pink mane on her back with ducklings running around and a mother duck trying to get them together.
Renegade registered this pony as Fluttershy straight away. "Oh my! I'm so sorry, are you okay?" she said as she helped Fluttershy up onto her hooves. "I'm fine.." she murmured. "Are you sure?" Renegade said, trying to make the best first impression she could. This was going to be a long day.
Fluttershy nodded, her eyes on her hooves. The cream pony nodded before slowly looking up to have her turquoise eyes lock with Renegade's red ones. Fluttershy's eyes widened a question flying out of her mouth. "Are you Renegade?" Renegade nodded slowly. News sure spread like wild fire around here. "Yes I am. You must be Fluttershy." Renegade grinned, her eyes twitched, but luckily the mare did not notice. "Rarity told me about you." Fluttershy explained. Who else?! Renegade thought, stopping herself from rolling her eyes. "Oh, Rarity! She's such a nice mare, very generous too." Fluttershy nodded in agreement. An awkward silence settled upon the two mares. Fluttershy looked left and right before lightening up a bit. "Why, there's Twilight!" she whispered. She trotted over to the unicorn that had a baby dragon on her back. Renegade muttered something about too many ponies under her breath before following Fluttershy who was heading towards Twilight.
"Oh, hey Fluttershy! How's Angel?" Twilight greeted the pegasus.
"Angel's finally eating his carrots thanks to the book you gave me" Fluttershy said happily
"It was nothing, really.". Renegade stood awkwardly behind Fluttershy, waiting for her to introduce Twilight. Even though she knew everything about Twilight Sparkle, she didn't want them to suspect anything.
"Oh, and this is the pony Rarity was talking about, Renegade!" Fluttershy took a step away from her original position, leaving Renegade to be surveyed by her friend.
"So you're the one Rarity took in. Twilight Sparkle." The unicorn held out her hoof. "Renegade." she replied, shaking Twilight's hoof.
"Have you met everyone yet?" Renegade shook her head.
"But I look forward to meet them." She lied.
"Well you can meet them now!" Twilight smiled, her horn glowing.
Renegade stifled a groan. Might as well get this over and done with, right?
"Sure! That sounds great!" she replied with a wide grin.
Twilight nodded and gave instructions to Fluttershy, who soon flew off. Not a moment later, an orange mare with blonde hair approached them.
"Howdy, Twlight! Now where's this pony I'm meant to meet?" she spoke with an accent.
"AppleJack! She's right here." she gestured towards Renegade, who gave a small wave.
"Nice to meet ya, Renegade. Name's AppleJack." AppleJack tipped her cowboy hat at her. Renegade gave a small nod back.
"So, how's yer stay here in Ponyville?" Applejack asked.
"It's been gre-" Renegade had been saying before a rainbow maned pegasus cut her off.
"So THIS is the pony you guys have been talking about." she snorted. "She doesn't look like anything special."
"Shut yer trap, won't ya, RainbowDash?" AppleJack frowned before turning to Renegade.
"She thinks the sun come up just to hear her crow." Renegade just shook her head.
"It's fine. Nice to meet you, RainbowDash." Renegade looked up at the blue mare that was above her. RainbowDash snorted.
"RainbowDash is my name, and flying's my game. Nice to meet you too, Renegade." RainbowDash showed her flying skills off by doing triple loop de loops and flying up into the air before stopping her wings, letting herself plummet to the ground, her wings coming up to break her fall right before she touched the ground. She shook out her colorful mane. Renegade turned her head head away to look at something else before rolling her eyes. She was going to be a pain.
"Hey, have you seen Pinkie Pie? Me and her need to do some prankin'!" RainbowDash grinned mischievously.
Just then, a pink pony burst out behind her. "I'm HERE!" she shouted.
Renegade groaned quietly. Not her again.
"Hey look, it's Renegade! Long time no see, we just saw each other earlier this morning, but it still felt like a long time." Pinkie Pie jumped in circles around Renegade.
"Since we're all here, why don't we go out? We can show Renegade around the place." Twilight suggested.
"That sounds like a great idea." Fluttershy flew up to them. "Rarity can't make it, she says she's 'in the zone' right now." Fluttershy explained.
"Alright then. We'll go on ahead then." Twilight said thoughtfully. "I think I know where we can go first, c'mon girls!" she said before trotting off, the rest following her.
Throughout this whole event, Spike had stayed quiet which was unusual for the baby dragon. Spike glanced at Renegade again, her red eyes sending chills down his spine. What was it about the mare that made him feel unsettled? He just couldn't place it.. Whatever it was, though, he just knew he couldn't trust this new pony.
Renegade blinked open her pale red eyes to sunlight streaming in through the windows of the boutique. She had stayed the night in Rarity's Boutique. She happily obliged, knowing that this would give her an advantage. She slowly got off the bed, shaking our her mane. She sighed and frowned. Rarity gave her a lecture about the state her mane was in, and even styled her mane after. She refused, but Rarity did it anyways. She didn't see the point in all these things, besides, she wasn't going to stay in this form forever, unlike these simpleton ponies who didn't have any other forms.
She took a deep breathe. Don't worry, Renegade. They're all gonna burn by the time you're done with them. She went up to the table and wrapped a black scarf around her neck. This climate was too cold for her liking. She strolled out of her room and walked downstairs and out the door, not caring if Rarity saw her or not. She stopped a step away from the door and took in everything her eyes went over. She needed to map out Ponyville if this was going to work.
As she was in her thoughts a pink pony bounced over to her. She stopped right in front of her, examining Renegade. As Renegade noticed someone was in front of her, she spoke up.
"Hey there, I'm Pinkie Pie, but you can just call me Pinkie!!" she exclaimed. "Are you new here? I think you are, I mean I've never seen you around here before."
"Yes, I'm new. I just came to Ponyville yesterday." Renegade said through gritted teeth. Somehow this pony annoyed her greatly. Pinkie looked behind Renegade and jumped up.
"Are you Renegade?!" she shouted. Renegade's ears flattened against her head. "Yes, how did you know?"
"Well, Rarity told me about you. Welcome to Ponyville! We're gonna have so much fun together! We can party, we can play, we can even go for a picnic!" Pinkie bounced up and down with excitement. Renegade put a fake smile on her face.
"That sounds great, but we'll have to plan that out later. I'm going out for a walk to know the place." Renegade explained.
Pinkie gasped and grinned. "I can take you on a tour!!"
"Uhm.. No thanks, I'd rather go alone." Renegade said quickly before turning and running off towards Town Square.
