What just happened in MLP???

     One upon a time in the magical land of Horseland Equestria, there were two regal sisters who ruled the land together. They were made up of all three pony tribes: Unicorn, Pegasus, and Earth Pony. These siblings were called alicorns and brought harmony to all the land. The oldest sister, who brought out the sun, was called Trollestia Sunlestia. The other sister, who summoned the moon, was called Luna Molestia. Each sister possessed special talents that ponies called the “Elements of Trolling Harmony”; the most powerful magic in the land. Princess Sunlestia was the element of Magic, Loyalty, and Kindness; While Princess Molestia was Honesty, Inspiration Generosity, and Laughter. Thus the sisters maintained balance over their kingdom and subects. Their capitol was set in the center of the Everfree Forest, a mystical place guarded by many dangerous creatures.

     Still, evil lurked in the land. The Princesses used the Elements of Harmony to try to help those overcome by darkness; unfortunately, it was ineffective. Only the elements could defeat the abominations. Discord, the god of chaos, was turned to stone. While Sombra, the Lord of all Darkness, was banished to the north. Many minor attacks that didn’t need the elements were caused by changelings, freaks of nature overcome by the seven deadly sins, trying to take over Equestria. Others were dragons and creatures in the Everfree Forest.

     As time went on, the younger sister grew frustrated and jealous. Her little ponies cherished the sunlight and played all day, while at night, they were fearful of what lurked outside of the daylight and slept. The ones that appreciated the moonlight called themselves “The Children Of the Night”. These ponies were transformed into bat-ponies , guards of Princess Molestia, and were given the highest ranking. Still, the princess was lonely and wished she was loved. One day, Molestia refused to lower the moon, so the subjects could see her beautiful sky more. The oldest tried to plead and reason with her, but the Princess of the Night didn’t comply. One day later Princess Molestia transformed into a monster, who called herself Nightmare Moon. She vowed that the land would be shrouded in eternal darkness, and without the precious sun, every living being would slowly wither and die. Sunlestia saw what the trouble was. Molestia was overcome by darkness, accidently corrupted by Sombra’s dark magic, strengthed by Molestia's jelousy.

     Molestia was then no longer connected to her elements, so Sunlestia was forced to take her sister’s elements on her own. After the Elements of Harmony were unleashed, Molestia was banished to the moon for 1,000 years, so that the younger sibling could be free from the darkness, and the monster within. Without her sister to raise the moon, Sunlestia raised both powerful entities, but had to rule alone. She created a new capitol near the Appamanechian Mountains, called Canterlot, while the old city fell in ruins. The Elements of Harmony were useless now, and only 6 powerful subjects could be able to wield them again, if any trouble stirred. After many decades, Princess Molestia’s story became an old mare’s tale, used to scare young colts and fillies into behaving, lest she came again.

     Twilight Sprinkle Sparkle put down her picture book. After taking a couple of minutes to stretch, she stated talking to herself.

     “The Elements of Harmony… Hmmm… I know of them from somewhere, outside of this book, but where?”

     As the purple unicorn was trotting to her house library, she was stopped by some of the unicorns from her neighborhood: Twinkleshine, Moondancer, and Colgate. Twinkeshine spoke up, “Moondancer is having a party next Saturday. Would you like to join us?”

     Twilight stepped back with a nervous look. The longer Twinkleshine and Colgate looked at her pleadingly, the more stress was accumulating.

     “Friends are more important than books you know,” Piped Colgate

     “SHUT UP!!! I JUST WANT TO STUDY! STAY AWAY FROM ME!” Twilight screamed while running down the road as fast as she could through Canterlot.

      Moondancer was confused. “It seems like she favors books more than real ponies,” she muttered.

     “I perfectly agree. I mean, what’s her problem?” Colgate complained.

     The three ponies slowly waved while watching the screaming purple blur run in zigzags.

     Twilight ran past Lyra Heartstrings and Amethyst Star.

     “Hi Twilight, how are you doing?” said Lyra.

     “DON’T TALK TO ME YOU’RE GIVING ME A NOSEBLEED!”

     “Oh, okay then.”

     Twilight slowly stopped running after a while. “Really, I know I have heard about the Elements. I just hate when this happens!”

     Spike the slave dragon was in a peaceful mood today. He managed to use most of his college funds to buy his adoptive mother a gift, a beautiful crystal sculpture, and he didn't eat it on the way home! The baby dragon was going to give the present only when Twilight was most upset. The awkward and shocked faces by ponies in the city indicated today would be the perfect time.

     Spike hummed a tune to himself when he walked up to the library; a door slammed into his face; not only breaking his nose, but the sculpture.

     “Spike? Spiiiiiiiiike? Where are you, you idiot? Oh, there you are.” Twilight looked down on the unconscious dragon. “I need you to find a book about predictions and prophecies.” She softly kicked the baby a couple of times in the shin before he woke up.

     Twilight looked curiously at the crushed present for a moment before talking to Spike, voice dripping with honey.“Who is the present for?”

     “Well, it was origionally for y-“ Spike mumbled before a hoof went into his mouth.

     The unicorn didn't reply as she threw the shards in the trash. Spike thought she just had a bad day, but that still didn't help his crushed feelings. The unicorn started rushing around the library for a while before exclaiming “You know we don’t have time for those kinds of things Spike.”

     "But... but..." Spike stammered.

     "No buts now help me look." Twilight summoned 21 books and flipped through them fairly quickly. "No No NO NO! I can't find this stupid book anywhere!

     "Its over here Twilight!" Spike called. He grabbed a very heavy book with one hand while balancing precariously on a tall ladder with the other.

    "Thanks Spike." Twilight grabbed the book with her magic, unknowing that Spike was still holding on. Thankfully he landed on top of the hardback book, but he still broke a couple of ribs.

     "Please help me Mommy...." Spike struggled for breath.

     "Really? I have to waste by time healing you? Twilight grabbed a Phoenix Down and fed it to Spike. A 1-up appeared above his head and he woke up gasping. The unicorn dropped her 21 books and picked up the one Spike was weakly holding."Okay, elements... elements, e, e, AHA! See mare on the moon?"

Spike was resheving the books Twilight picked up. "Mare on the Moon? Isn't that supposed  to be an old mare's tale?"

    The unicorn just facehooved. "Dude, I spent that 10 minutes reading a book about Molestia. Don't give me crap about her. Where do you get these stupid ideas anyway?" Twilight flipped to the page."It says a 'long time ago there was an evil mare called Nightmare Moon that wanted to rule this land by herself, before being defeated by the Elements of Harmony'. Why is every informational book that I read are so different from each other?! (Sigh) ' 'She was banished permently on the moon. There is a ledgend that on the longest day of the 1,000 year the stars will aide in her escap, and The Nighmare will bring forth the eternal night again.'"

     The book starts to explain how the stars help
