The Quiet Before the Storm
*rumble*
“Mmmm...Ugh..Spike..cut it out...” I moaned out of my deep sleep.
A slow rumble began to grow beyond my inner realm of dream. The quiet eerie silence was slowly
broken by the incoming rolling clouds of black. As the clouds rolled in a flash of lightning struck outside Ponyville cracking the sky in a spectacle of light.
“GAA!” I screeched as I jumped from my bed onto the cold wooden floor.
“Wha! What?! What's going on? Are we being attacked?!” screamed spike in panic.
“No spike. There's a storm coming in from the north”.
“Oh, okay. Does this I can go back to bed now? I'm tired after yesterdays trip to town square...”
groaned Spike.
“You didn’t even walk there. You rode on my back the whole time.” I replied in a monotone voice.
“Whatever..” I moaned as I slowly walked back to my bed.
As I closed my eyes and slowly drifted off into my sleep I began to hear the faint sound of what sounded like a little filly crying. I roamed throughout my dream to find the source of such a sound until I found myself in a dark room. In the middle of the room sat a very small colt. Its coat was as black as the room itself and the mane was as dark blue as the bottom of the ocean.
I slowly walked up to the little filly and asked,
“Are you okay little one?”
The filly turned around to stare at me with deep dark white eyes that almost pierced through my body. The filly looked at me and responded,
“Who are you calling a filly?” in a deep heavy and somewhat gentlemen like accent he replied.
I jumped back and screamed “Woah! Wait, what?!”
“What? Is my posture to great for yo- Wait, what.. what happened to me?!” yelled the pony in shock.
“What is going on?! I was just about to bring in the storm and now I’m here?! How? Wait, where am I?!”” screamed the pony or filly..or colt..into the nothingness.
“Umm, if you don’t mind me asking,” I asked “who are you?”
“I am Storm! The bringer of rain! The master of thunder of lightning and most certainly NOT a
filly!”
“Okay, well, you are one. Also, how did you get into my dream?” I asked.
“Wait, this is a dream?” the pony asked.
“Yes, I am positive it is, or almost positive."
“Wait, YES!..Oh, this is too perfect!” yelped the pony in joy and in somewhat of a almost evil
manner.
“Umm, why are you so happy?” I asked.
“Oh, don't bother. I will be out of here in a moment and you will not be happy with me the next
time we meet.”
“Wait, why?!” I screamed.
“Oh, you will find out soon enough. Muahahaha!” The pony laughed maniacally.
The filly then closed its eyes and morphed into a very think cloud of black smoke. The cloud of
smoke then dispersed into the dark.
I then flew up and opened my eyes too find myself about 10 feet from my bed and sweating to no
end. Spike was looming over me trying to wake me up.
“Hey! Twilight! You ok?!”
“No....” I replied.
“What?”
“I said no, I am not ok.”
*crack*
A flash of lightning struck right outside the house followed by a quick thunder clap.
“GAA!” screamed spike as he ran for cover.
“I have to see Princess Celestia... I have to see..Princess Celestia..” I whispered.
“Why?” asked Spike.
“I will explain later. We have to get to Canterlot NOW!”
I grabbed my umbrella and boots and ran downstairs. I opened the door downstairs only to be
welcomed by the sight of water rushing into my house that reached up to my belly.
“Gaa! How did that happen? Its only been raining a few minutes.” said Spike.
I looked out into the streets to see that waters had risen and were rising all over Ponyville.
“Oh no...”
