Gilda, The Sky's The Limit

Luna was sleeping in her bed after keeping the stars out all night. She didn't find it hard but she was tired.
After a while, she woke up to knocking on her bedroom door. She got up and opened the door to see her sister, princess Celestia. "Morning sister." said Luna. "Morning Luna. How was yesterday?" asked Celestia.
"It was fine." Luna replied quickly. "Do you mind if I ask something?" said Celestia.
"Okay." Luna replied quickly. "Well ever since Gilda came here you and her have been spending a lot of time together..."
"Yes we are great friends. Is that what you were going to ask?" said Luna cutting off her sister.
"Oh. Well I just came to tell you that Gilda and all the other recent recruits are going away today for some training."
"Thanks for telling me. If you don't mind, I’m going to take a nap for a while. See you later sister." Luna closed her door and went into her bed.

Celestia walked through the halls with a radiant smile on her face. She was happy for Luna finally getting a friend.
"Gilda? Where have I heard that before? Maybe it will come back to me later." Celestia thought to herself. She went off to her personal sturdy and saw a lone guard near the door. "Greetings princess Celestia." the guard bowed to her.
"Greetings. I was just going through here. Isn’t there supposed to be another guard here?" asked Celestia.
"Yes, my brother is off sick today. He got a serious fever. Do you mind if I look for a book for him?"
"Sure. Just follow me." Celestia took him into the private sturdy.

"This place is massive! It’s bigger then my apartment!" exclaimed the guard.
"I didn't get your name." said Celestia, looking at the guard.
"Names vile for short and vile willow for my full name, at your service." vile was very carm towards the princess, despite the fact he was tiny compared to Celestia and much smaller than the other guards.
"Well it's nice to meet you Vile. You don't have to act like that around Me." said Celestia.
"What do you mean? This is how I usually behave around mares." said vile.
"I mean that you’re acting rather classy." said Celestia smiling. "Shall we find the book for your brother?" asked Celestia.
"I’d be honoured to have your help. My bro reads a lot of books about dragons and such so..." vile was cut off by Celestia.
"I have just the thing. Follow me." they went out of the private sturdy and went to the grand library.

The size alone would make it almost impossible to find a particular book to the normal pony.
"That’s a lot of books." said vile, looking at the rows and rows of books. "Have you read them all?" asked vile.
"No but I mostly read the novels. What about you?" asked Celestia?
"I mostly read adventure story's, like daring doo and such." vile smiled and looked around for the book.
They searched for a while and came across what they were looking.
"Here you go vile. But be careful. This book is almost as old as me." said Celestia letting out a quick laugh.
"Well you can't be that old then. You still look fairly young." vile mentally hoofed himself in the face at what he just said.
"That’s very kind of you for saying." Celestia smiled. "You know you’re a lot kinder then most guards around here."
"I just live by a rule that I must always make my friends feel happy." vile bowed to Celestia and set he off back to his home.

Meanwhile with Luna...

Luna awoke from her slumber. She looked around and saw what time it was on the old clock in her room and saw it was about 2 in the afternoon. She opened a portal and went to her garden to water her roses.
She landed outside her, used her magic to make some water appear and looked after her plants. Luna noticed something weird in her garden though.

She walked over to a patch of roses and saw a white rose in a patch of red roses.
"Odd. Still it looks nice." Luna said to herself. "It is indeed." said Luna again as she was talking to herself.
She picked up the rose with her magic and placed it in her satchel and portaled home.

She got back and took the rose out of her satchel and looked for somewhere to put it.
On the way she bumped into princess Celestia. "After noon Luna. How was the rest?" asked Celestia.
"It was fine sister. I need to get something pressed so I’ll see you later..." Luna was cut off by Celestia.
"What do you need to get pressed?" asked Celestia. "Nothing much, just a rose I found around the castle." Luna showed the rose to Celestia. "It’s beautiful Luna. I believe there's a shop like that just outside the castle gates." Luna smiled and set of the shop.

After a bit of walking, Luna made it to the shop and entered. "Welcome my friends to photo press were we... Princess Luna?!"
The stallion bowed to the princess. "Uh hello there. I came to have something pressed." said Luna.
"Oh of course. Just pass it here please and I’ll frame it for you. That will be 5 bits please." Luna got out some bits and paid the stallion. "Okay doke miss Luna

Amount of time it takes to turn a flower in a photo later...

"Okay doke miss Luna it's all done." the flower had been pressed into the picture. Luna smiled widely.
"Thank you so much for this." said Luna to the stallion. "It’s my job so no thanks’ are in order. Good day to you Luna." he bowed to her and Luna went back to the castle.

When she got back, the sun was setting behind the mountains, creating a wonderful view.
"Hello there Luna." said Celestia. "Hi there sister. I got my flower framed. How’s everything here?" asked Luna.
"Well nothing much but your friend came back." Luna jumped for joy. "Where is she?" asked Luna.
"I believe her and all the other recruits are in the main hall. There receiving there results from one of the captains."
"That’s nice to hear." Luna was still smiling with joy. "I usually hand out the results but if you want Luna you can come along."
Luna nodded and went off with Celestia to the main hall.

The doors opened and the recruits bowed to princess Celestia and Luna. There were only about 5 recruits in the hall including Gilda. Celestia walked over to the captain. "I thought there was more than 5 recruits." asked Celestia.
"No these are the ones that passed. All the other one's are back at the training grounds." said Raisan.
"Oh. Well let's get the results out. How did everyone do?" asked Celestia.
"Everyone else did really well, especially Zero and Gilda. They scored the highest in both the endurance test and the strength test. I think that they are ready to be made into proper guards." said captain Raisan.
"We shall see. For now we must hand out the results." Celestia was handed out the results and the recruits stood in a line waiting for the papers.

2 of the guards jumped for joy and went off to a bar to celebrate, 1 pony shed tears of joy and Raisan had to slap some sense back into him, zero and Gilda however were told to wait behind for their results though.
"Why do you recon we are staying behind?" asked zero to Gilda.
"Probably because one of us is getting sent home or something. I’m going to talk to Luna about this." Gilda went off to Luna.
"Well now I’m on my own." thought zero who then started to talk to himself.

"Hi there Gilda!" said Luna in excited mood. Gilda smiled at Luna.
"Hay there Luna. Can I ask something?" Luna was puzzled at what this could be.
"Why is Celestia keeping us here?" Luna shrugged and smiled. "I’m glad you’re back though. There wasn't that much to do."
"Don’t you have any hobbies or something?" asked Gilda. "Well I used to play the violin but that was over 1000 years ago."
"I used to play a bit of the flute but I never played for anyone. Well except dash once but she got bored and fell asleep."
"Is this dash the rainbow dash of pony vile?" asked Luna with a puzzled face.
"Umm... yeah. Let me guess you know about what happened?" Luna nodded. "But I understand why you did that." said Luna.
"You’re just like me when I got back from the moon, you didn't know how to act but we got over it in our own ways."
"I guess. I’m surprised that your so carm with this though." said Gilda. "Well were friends and as a friend I will always take care of you." Luna gave Gilda pat on the shoulder. "Thanks Luna." Gilda gave Luna a quick hug then went off with zero to get her results.

They stood in front of princess Celestia, captain Raisin and Princess Luna. "We have excellent news for the 2 of you."
Gilda and zero gulped in a nervous fear. "You two did so well in the test's today that we are having you put into the royal guard as soon as your armour for the both of you is made." as soon as Celestia said this, zero fainted.
"For Pete sack zero." Gilda thought as she helped him to his feet.
"zero's armour will take about a month to make were as yours Gilda, considering both your size and shape, will take about 3 months to make so until then, you two are allowed to spend your time freely but I would recommend some rest now." said Raisin.

Gilda went back to her room but was stopped by Luna. "Congratulations, royal guard Gilda of canterlot." Luna said in fake tough pony voice which made Gilda laugh a bit. "Oh and I was looking through some stuff in my room and I found this."
Luna got out a flute. "Me and my sister would play some music together when we were younger. Now she doesn’t."
Gilda picked up the flute and tried to play some music but it sounded pretty bad. "Guess I need some practise." said Gilda.
"I would say so. Well good night Gilda, pleasant dreams." and with that they went to their rooms to sleep and dream.
