She felt nice getting back on the clouds and be able to fly again. She really didn't like walking and always tried to fly as often as possible. "Ahh a nothing to do today. Again. Just perfect." Gilda said with annoyance. While she was doing nothing, she saw a Pegasus, crashing in the Everfree forest. The crash caused a tree to fall on the ground with a powerful thud. “Oh crud. This looks bad. I better see if how the hell that Pegasus is." She carefully travel to the forest. She don’t want a repeat of what happened last time. She came across the crash site to see a surprising face indeed: Princess Luna herself is incredibly injured but thankfully, not bleeding and still slightly chournchus. “Who goes there, friend or foe?!" said Luna in her royal voice. “Umm.. it’s me, Gilda. I’m a friend, I guess..." said Gilda nervously. She helped the injured princess get on her hooves and carried her on her back. "Now Luna please hold on very tightly. I’m going to start flying in a couple of seconds." said Gilda in a strong voice. Luna wrapped around the griffon. “okay I’m ready, but where are you taking me anyway?" “Well, duh, where do you think? Canterlot of course. Now hush up now. I need to get ready to fly." Gilda took off, but due to Luna’s weight, Gilda was slightly slowed down. “Geez Luna, you’re such an heavy pegicorn or whatever you call yourself." “I’m sorry for that. And thanks for helping me." "What exactly happened anyway? Why are you crashed? Care to explain?" Gilda made a cloud platform by moving some small nearby clouds and let Luna rest and explain. “As you may know, I was on the moon for a thousand years. That made my flying a bit rusty, so I decided to practice for a bit and thought that this would be easy and no problem. I just wanted to fly again, that's all, you know, to feel the wind in my face and dive through clouds… But during my “practice” I crashed into the forest. I thought I was going to die for a while. The idea of death is a cold and awful thought… Even though I know I am immortal…" said Luna as a tear ran down her face. Gilda hugged Luna and said " Ahh don't think about stuff like that. Focus on the good parts, even if there small, it's better than thinking about something like that. For example, a friend that I’ve known for years probably hate's me now... but that's the past and I’ve got to get you back to canterlot in the present." said Gilda. Before they went, Luna hugged Gilda and said: “You’re a good person Gilda. Would you like to stay for dinner at Canterlot, my treat." “Hell yes! Sorry about that. I haven't had decent meal in couple of days." said Gilda “Well I make sure your filled for a month. You can even stay for the night if you want to." said Luna. Gilda returned the hug to Luna, picked her up and put Luna on her back and set of for Canterlot. By the time they got there, the sun was setting. Gilda landed and was greeted with some hostile company. “Halt there. What business do you have here?!" said a guard. “Luna here is injured and she need's medical help now!" said Gilda in a strong voice. The guard allowed Gilda in with Luna, and was taken to the royal doctors. Along the way they saw princess Celestia. “What happened here?!" said Celestia. “She crashed into the Everfree forest while flying. I found her and flew her here myself." said Gilda. “well that's very kind of you. your name is?"replied celestia. “Name’s Gilda." – griffin answered. “Well, Gilda, you saved my sister’s life, and we must celebrate. Come to the dinner hall in about 10 minutes. We shall have a feast in your honor. You will also stay here tonight in the finest comfort as well." said celestia. Gilda smiled and bowed toward Celestia. After 10 minutes, Gilda went to the dining hall. She sat next to Luna, who had recovered enough to walk, though pretty much being a god does have its advantages. They went into the hall and everyone bowed towards Luna and Gilda as they entered the room. Gilda sat next to Luna and the captain of the guard. Celestia stood up and proposed a toast to Gilda. “A toast to Gilda, the griffon that saved Luna’s life!" said Celestia. "CHEERS." said everyone in the hall. Then they started eating. The captain asked Gilda a question. “So how did you get Princess Luna here anyway?" said the captain. "Oh I carried her here on my back. Must of been about 50 miles from here to where she crashed." said Gilda. "WHAT?! That’s... that's.... a true testament of power. Have you ever thought about being a royal guard?" Gilda almost chocked on the offer from sheer shock. “Being a royal guard?! They only pick the strongest ponies in Equestia for that, and I’m not even a pony, I’m a griffon." The captain got out a book about the best captains that had ever served under Celestia. The book was interesting as each of their captains had served princess Celestia and her parents as well but the final captain was not of pony, Pegasus or unicorn but of griffin. “My dad knew him back in the day. He was loyal, proud and never turned down a fight. He was the strongest there was in all of equestia, being able to punch through rock and carry a dozen soldiers as well. His name was a mystery though so we just called him thunder wing, the brave." Gilda thought about this for second. She was strong and fast but she had never thought anyone other than the people that picked on Rainbow Dash when they were younger. “I’ll give it a try. How about tomorrow?" said Gilda. “Well of course Gilda. I’ll teach you how to fight and defend." said the captain. After the feast, Luna showed were Gilda would be sleeping. “Okay this room is next to mine and it has a large bed, a bath and all that other stuffs you might need." said Luna. "It’s really nice Luna. I’ve never had anything like this before." said Gilda as a tear of joy ran down her face. “There is one thing I haven't given you yet though." said Luna with a smile on her face. Luna planted a kiss on Gildas cheek softly but with passion. Gilda blushed and didn't know what to say. She simply smiled and went to bed. Gilda woke up in the soft bed and stretched her arms and wings. After days of sleeping on clouds and on the ground, it was nice to feel so relaxed and rested. She headed over to the bathroom and looked at a mirror. Her feathers were a mess but Gilda didn't care. Looks weren’t important anyway. She headed out of her room but bumped into somepony by accident. "Watch were you’re going you..." Gilda saw that the person she bumped in is princess Luna. "Oh crud I’m sorry about that. You’re not going to send me to the dungeon or something, are you?" asked Gilda nervously. "It’s my fault, Gilda, don't worry. Actually I was looking for you." Luna smiled at Gilda. "The captain sent me to get you. So, now that I’ve found you, I guess I have to take you to captain Raisin." Gilda laughed. "Captain Raisin?! That’s the stupidest name I’ve ever heard ." Luna joined in the laughter. "Well it is rather funny. Shall we get going? The captain say's you don't have to be there until noon so “Maybe we could talk for a bit." Luna giggled. "Sure, why not?" Gilda said. She was trying to not have her usual style of speaking. They walked through the halls and talked about things. "Luna, why did you kiss me on the cheek last night?" asked Gilda. This plagued Gilda’s mind ever since it happened. "What’s wrong with a friend giving a kiss on the cheek to their friend?" asked Luna, puzzled by Gildas reaction. "Well nothing it's just friends don't normaly do that. friends in my case ether hi five or i guess in your case hi hoof. " Gilda smiled. "sorry about that. Being on the moon for a 1000 years can make one disconnected from the way on how everything works you see." Luna sighed. "But I can see that there's one thing we both have in common." said Luna. "And what's that?" asked Gilda. "Well thou and I don't want to be lonely." said Luna. "That’s true but I don't need any serious relationships." Gilda sighed. "That’s completely understandable. It’s almost noon so I’ll escort you raisin now." Luna giggled at the name and so did Gilda as they headed of for the training area. They arrived and were greeted by the masked captain. "Afternoon, Raisin. Trying to be threatening again, I see." said Luna. "Yeah but what are ya going to do. Custom built armor cost's a horn and a wing these days. Where are my manners, name is Raisin Beam, though everyone calls me Raisin. Yours is Gilda right?" Gilda nodded. "Okay I’ll teach you how to defend yourself. Luna, you could you sit over there if you want to watch." Luna went over to the area and watched. "Now Gilda, try to score a hit at the royal guard, but first, can you fight?" asked Raisin. "Heck yeah I can! What do you think these claws are for, scratching my back?" said Gilda jokingly. "Sometime attack does not always bring wictory. Try to attack me, for example." Gilda shrugged her shoulder and attacked with claw. Raisin grabbed Gilda’s claw with his mouth and flipped her onto her back. "Sometimes the best offense is the best defence." "Okay now to see your defensive. I’ll attack you and you block, okay?" Gilda nodded and got ready for the attack. The captain charged and uppercutted Gilda’s block but Gilda countered by blocking the next punch then head butting the captain, making him go unchournchus. "Crud, I’m screwed." Gilda thought. A lot of time later... The captain awoke and saw Gilda and Luna standing over him. "He’s awake." said Luna. She levitated Raisin on to his feet. "Look, I’m really sorry for knocking you out like that. Guess I don't know my own strength." said Gilda. "Actually I’m fairly impressed. Not many pony can leave a dent in metal armor... with their head."Raisin rubbed his head and smiled at Gilda. "I think that will be enough for today. Good day to you two. Now if you excuse me, I’m going to fix the dent in this helmet. You have fun Gilda." and with that Raisin flew off to fix his mask. "So Luna, what's there to do around here?" asked Gilda. "Hmm, let me think... I have no clue." said Luna. "But you live here. What do you do all day anyway if you don't do anything?" asked Gilda. There was a slight anger in her voice but she kept it low in front of the princess. "I usually talk with the guards and with my sister during the day and at night I have to keep the moon and stars up by staying awake all night long." said Luna, smiling the whole time. "That sounds boring." Gilda made Luna angry somehow. "Well excuse me but I’ve been on the moon for a 1000 years, so my knowledge of what ponies do now is a bit out of date!" exclaimed Luna. "Okay, look I’m sorry. Look how about I teach you how to fly?" said Gilda. Luna smiled. "I would be eternally grateful for that." and with that Gilda and Luna went off to find a suitable flying area. They searched around the castle for a decent area to practice. The problem was they had to find a place that had a soft landing and decent enough space for movement. After a while Luna had an idea. "Let’s use my private garden! There’s plenty of room in there for flying." exclaimed Luna. "Wait you have private garden? Huh. That’s unexpected." said Gilda. This caused Luna to be puzzled. "What do you mean by that?" asked Luna. "Nothing. Look let's just go to the garden." and with that they went off. Luna led Gilda to her room. She opened a portal. "Follow me Gilda." they jumped through the portal. They ended up outside of Canterlot and in a part of an open patch of land in a forest. "So where’s the garden? All I see are tree's, tree's and more tree's." said Gilda. "Well, it's called a private garden for a reason." Luna horn created a quick flash that made the plants appear. "Cool. You like growing roses I see." said Gilda. "I love roses. They always reminded me sun and the moon, hence why I grow black and red roses." Luna smiled. "What about you Gilda, have you grown anything before?" "Not really. Unless you count green stuff that grew on my wings once." said Gilda. "I guess that counts. Anyway what about this flying lesson?" said Luna. "Right okay. See that hill over there? You get to the top and jump and start flying. And if you fall, I’ll catch ya." Luna nodded. Luna got to the top of the hill while Gilda waited at the bottom of the hill. "Okay Luna are you ready?" shouted Gilda. "Yes I’m ready." and with that Luna started to fly. She was a bit off in terms of her flying, kind of like a young flier, same amount of skill so in other words very little. "You’re doing great Luna, just a little bit further." shouted Gilda again. Luna was doing well until a strong wind threw her off and then started to fall. "Help me Gilda!" Luna screamed as she fell to the ground. Gilda grabbed the falling alicorn, but crashed as well, causing both of them got knocked out. Luna was the first to wake up and to see what had happened. She saw white feathers over her and also saw that Gilda was holding her tightly. She also that Gilda had hit her head into something across her face, causing some bleeding. "Gilda please wake up." Luna said to Gilda. Gilda’s eyes opened up to see Luna right next to her. "What happened?" Gilda got up and looked around. There was no damage though she felt a pain in her head. "You caught me as I was falling and crashed. I’m sorry." said Luna, lowing her head. "What for? You’re just a beginner and you can mess up here and there." said Gilda smiling. "But me crashing gave you that cut on your head." Gilda wiped her head and saw some blood on her claw. "That’s nothing Luna." Gilda smiled as the blood ran down her face. Luna smiled. "Let me fix that up for you Gilda." Luna’s horn started to shine and the wound on Gildas head started to fix up. "Thanks Luna. So... what should we do now?" asked Gilda. "I think we should go back now." Luna opened a portal and they went back to Luna’s room. After a while Gilda started to get tired. "Well Luna" Gilda yawned "I’m off to bed. What about you?" asked Gilda? "I’ve got to stay up and keep the stars out so I’ll see you tomorrow." said Luna. "well okay and look i'm sorry for saying your star thing was boring." said gilda. "it's okay. i over reacted that's all. i thought you meant the stars them selves were boring." said luna. "they look nice. i'm guessing you have to make them all?" luna nodded and gilda yawned. luna went off to look after the stars and Gilda went off to her room and went to sleep... after she wiped the blood out of her feathers of course. She didn't find it hard but she was tired. After a while, she woke up to knocking on her bedroom door. She got up and opened the door to see her sister, princess Celestia. "Morning sister." said Luna. "Morning Luna. How was yesterday?" asked Celestia. "It was fine." Luna replied quickly. "Do you mind if I ask something?" said Celestia. "Okay." Luna replied quickly. "Well ever since Gilda came here you and her have been spending a lot of time together..." "Yes we are great friends. Is that what you were going to ask?" said Luna cutting off her sister. "Oh. Well I just came to tell you that Gilda and all the other recent recruits are going away today for some training." "Thanks for telling me. If you don't mind, I’m going to take a nap for a while. See you later sister." Luna closed her door and went into her bed. Celestia walked through the halls with a radiant smile on her face. She was happy for Luna finally getting a friend. "Gilda? Where have I heard that before? Maybe it will come back to me later." Celestia thought to herself. She went off to her personal sturdy and saw a lone guard near the door. "Greetings princess Celestia." the guard bowed to her. "Greetings. I was just going through here. Isn’t there supposed to be another guard here?" asked Celestia. "Yes, my brother is off sick today. He got a serious fever. Do you mind if I look for a book for him?" "Sure. Just follow me." Celestia took him into the private sturdy. "This place is massive! It’s bigger then my apartment!" exclaimed the guard. "I didn't get your name." said Celestia, looking at the guard. "Names vile for short and vile willow for my full name, at your service." vile was very carm towards the princess, despite the fact he was tiny compared to Celestia and much smaller than the other guards. "Well it's nice to meet you Vile. You don't have to act like that around Me." said Celestia. "What do you mean? This is how I usually behave around mares." said vile. "I mean that you’re acting rather classy." said Celestia smiling. "Shall we find the book for your brother?" asked Celestia. "I’d be honoured to have your help. My bro reads a lot of books about dragons and such so..." vile was cut off by Celestia. "I have just the thing. Follow me." they went out of the private sturdy and went to the grand library. The size alone would make it almost impossible to find a particular book to the normal pony. "That’s a lot of books." said vile, looking at the rows and rows of books. "Have you read them all?" asked vile. "No but I mostly read the novels. What about you?" asked Celestia? "I mostly read adventure story's, like daring doo and such." vile smiled and looked around for the book. They searched for a while and came across what they were looking. "Here you go vile. But be careful. This book is almost as old as me." said Celestia letting out a quick laugh. "Well you can't be that old then. You still look fairly young." vile mentally hoofed himself in the face at what he just said. "That’s very kind of you for saying." Celestia smiled. "You know you’re a lot kinder then most guards around here." "I just live by a rule that I must always make my friends feel happy." vile bowed to Celestia and set he off back to his home. Meanwhile with Luna... Luna awoke from her slumber. She looked around and saw what time it was on the old clock in her room and saw it was about 2 in the afternoon. She opened a portal and went to her garden to water her roses. She landed outside her, used her magic to make some water appear and looked after her plants. Luna noticed something weird in her garden though. She walked over to a patch of roses and saw a white rose in a patch of red roses. "Odd. Still it looks nice." Luna said to herself. "It is indeed." said Luna again as she was talking to herself. She picked up the rose with her magic and placed it in her satchel and portaled home. She got back and took the rose out of her satchel and looked for somewhere to put it. On the way she bumped into princess Celestia. "After noon Luna. How was the rest?" asked Celestia. "It was fine sister. I need to get something pressed so I’ll see you later..." Luna was cut off by Celestia. "What do you need to get pressed?" asked Celestia. "Nothing much, just a rose I found around the castle." Luna showed the rose to Celestia. "It’s beautiful Luna. I believe there's a shop like that just outside the castle gates." Luna smiled and set of the shop. After a bit of walking, Luna made it to the shop and entered. "Welcome my friends to photo press were we... Princess Luna?!" The stallion bowed to the princess. "Uh hello there. I came to have something pressed." said Luna. "Oh of course. Just pass it here please and I’ll frame it for you. That will be 5 bits please." Luna got out some bits and paid the stallion. "Okay doke miss Luna Amount of time it takes to turn a flower in a photo later... "Okay doke miss Luna it's all done." the flower had been pressed into the picture. Luna smiled widely. "Thank you so much for this." said Luna to the stallion. "It’s my job so no thanks’ are in order. Good day to you Luna." he bowed to her and Luna went back to the castle. When she got back, the sun was setting behind the mountains, creating a wonderful view. "Hello there Luna." said Celestia. "Hi there sister. I got my flower framed. How’s everything here?" asked Luna. "Well nothing much but your friend came back." Luna jumped for joy. "Where is she?" asked Luna. "I believe her and all the other recruits are in the main hall. There receiving there results from one of the captains." "That’s nice to hear." Luna was still smiling with joy. "I usually hand out the results but if you want Luna you can come along." Luna nodded and went off with Celestia to the main hall. The doors opened and the recruits bowed to princess Celestia and Luna. There were only about 5 recruits in the hall including Gilda. Celestia walked over to the captain. "I thought there was more than 5 recruits." asked Celestia. "No these are the ones that passed. All the other one's are back at the training grounds." said Raisan. "Oh. Well let's get the results out. How did everyone do?" asked Celestia. "Everyone else did really well, especially Zero and Gilda. They scored the highest in both the endurance test and the strength test. I think that they are ready to be made into proper guards." said captain Raisan. "We shall see. For now we must hand out the results." Celestia was handed out the results and the recruits stood in a line waiting for the papers. 2 of the guards jumped for joy and went off to a bar to celebrate, 1 pony shed tears of joy and Raisan had to slap some sense back into him, zero and Gilda however were told to wait behind for their results though. "Why do you recon we are staying behind?" asked zero to Gilda. "Probably because one of us is getting sent home or something. I’m going to talk to Luna about this." Gilda went off to Luna. "Well now I’m on my own." thought zero who then started to talk to himself. "Hi there Gilda!" said Luna in excited mood. Gilda smiled at Luna. "Hay there Luna. Can I ask something?" Luna was puzzled at what this could be. "Why is Celestia keeping us here?" Luna shrugged and smiled. "I’m glad you’re back though. There wasn't that much to do." "Don’t you have any hobbies or something?" asked Gilda. "Well I used to play the violin but that was over 1000 years ago." "I used to play a bit of the flute but I never played for anyone. Well except dash once but she got bored and fell asleep." "Is this dash the rainbow dash of pony vile?" asked Luna with a puzzled face. "Umm... yeah. Let me guess you know about what happened?" Luna nodded. "But I understand why you did that." said Luna. "You’re just like me when I got back from the moon, you didn't know how to act but we got over it in our own ways." "I guess. I’m surprised that your so carm with this though." said Gilda. "Well were friends and as a friend I will always take care of you." Luna gave Gilda pat on the shoulder. "Thanks Luna." Gilda gave Luna a quick hug then went off with zero to get her results. They stood in front of princess Celestia, captain Raisin and Princess Luna. "We have excellent news for the 2 of you." Gilda and zero gulped in a nervous fear. "You two did so well in the test's today that we are having you put into the royal guard as soon as your armour for the both of you is made." as soon as Celestia said this, zero fainted. "For Pete sack zero." Gilda thought as she helped him to his feet. "zero's armour will take about a month to make were as yours Gilda, considering both your size and shape, will take about 3 months to make so until then, you two are allowed to spend your time freely but I would recommend some rest now." said Raisin. Gilda went back to her room but was stopped by Luna. "Congratulations, royal guard Gilda of canterlot." Luna said in fake tough pony voice which made Gilda laugh a bit. "Oh and I was looking through some stuff in my room and I found this." Luna got out a flute. "Me and my sister would play some music together when we were younger. Now she doesn’t." Gilda picked up the flute and tried to play some music but it sounded pretty bad. "Guess I need some practise." said Gilda. "I would say so. Well good night Gilda, pleasant dreams." and with that they went to their rooms to sleep and dream. A few weeks had passed since Gilda was told that she was going to be a royal guard and ever since then everything was going great with Luna. They had grown to be best friends and shared everything with each other. Luna was always happy now that Gilda would be staying in the castle permanently at her request. Even Celestia was happy that Gilda was staying. At least now Luna had a friend that would always stay by her. Luna awoke early in the morning to heavy knocking on her bedroom door. She opened to see her sister with a look of worry on her face. "LUNA!" Celestia was in a fit of worry for her sister. "Carm down sister. What’s wrong?" asked Luna. "Discord has broken free of his prison and there are already reports of chocolate rain and cotton candy clouds and I’m worried for you." said Celestia. She wiped her face and got over her stress quickly. "Please, go with Gilda and hide somewhere." Luna nodded and Celestia went somewhere else. Luna knocked on Gildas door. "Should I tell her about discord or not?" thought Luna. "I think you should." said the voice in Luna’s head. "But what if she doesn’t understand?" said Luna. "Doesn’t understand what?" asked Gilda how had just opened the door. She had a look of confusion on her face. "I’ll explain later but for now we need to go somewhere safe." before Gilda could ask, Luna grabbed Gilda’s claw's, opened a portal and they both went through to Luna’s private garden. "Luna slow down for just a minute!" Gilda stopped Luna. "Now explain what's happening or I’m not moving another step!" Luna sighed. "Fine I’ll tell you." Gilda and Luna sat down and Luna explained the whole thing. "Before the moon incident me and Celestia had a close bond with a guard called discord. He was a brilliant mind and an artist but no one paid any attention to him due to the fact he was partly insane but that made him unique. One day a rare treasure was brought in from a faraway land that was brought to our mother and father..." Luna was cut off by Gilda. "You had parents?! I thought that you and your sister just appeared the hell out of nowhere." said Gilda. "If I could finish please." said Luna. "The artefact was a helmet with 2 large horns on it that apparently granted power to anyone that wore it. One day, discord took one of the horns and did who knows what with it." Luna stopped for a minute. "Are you okay Luna?" asked Gilda. "Yeah I’m just not feeling so well that's all." Luna started to get dizzy and fell over. "What the heck is wrong with you?" Gilda picked up Luna and set her near a tree so that her face wasn't in the mud. In Luna’s mind... Luna awoke in a world of nothing except herself. "Hello! Is anyone here?!" shouted Luna in her canterlot voice. "No one’s here except you and me." a dark skinned alicorn appeared in front of Luna. She towed over her in size and gave off a threating aura. "Who are you?!" exclaimed Luna. "I’m you of course." said the alicorn. "Don't you remember yourself?" "Are you... nightmare moon?" Luna was scared now. "Yes I am." said nightmare moon. Luna was moving back now in fear. "What d-do you want?" said Luna with stutter. "I don't know. Something has awoken me. Probably this discord of which you speak off. In any case though, I’ll take over now." Luna’s horn started to glow red. "NO YOUR NOT." Luna fired a ball of fire at nightmare moon, sending her back a couple of spaces. "I’m here to protect you." said nightmare moon. "And that got me 1000 years on the moon so go away and never come back you demon!" Luna fired another fire ball at nightmare moon. "If you awake, you will never see me again." said nightmare moon, her hair slightly burnt. "Good. I never want to see you again." and with that Luna awoke. What Luna awoke to was Gilda by her side, holding her in her sleep. "Gilda are you okay?" whispered Luna. Gilda’s eyes opened up to see Luna. "Hay there sleepy head." said Gilda. "Finally awake I see. You were out for a while." Gilda’s feathers were ruffled and she looked like a mess. "You kept squirming while you were asleep, so I held you and you calmed down." said Gilda. Luna looked at Gilda and saw the blood on Gilda’s head. "Gilda your head." said Luna, worried for her friend. "You started got a nose bleed and then you started to cry while you were asleep." said Gilda. "Thanks’ Gilda." said Luna in a whisper. "For what?" said Gilda? "For being there for me." Luna started to bleed again but this time it came from her eye. "Crud. Hang on a minute." Gilda pulled out a couple of feathers and cleaned up Luna’s eye but she fainted again from whatever kind of sickness she had. "Looks like my little trick is going swimmingly well." echoed a voice from behind Gilda. "Back off or I will hurt you!" Gilda turned around and saw what looked like a bunch of animals had been chopped up and glued back together. "That’s not nice." said the odd creature. "I don't bucking care, back off or I will hurt you." Gilda made a defensive stance against the creature. "Now is that really away to behave in front of a guest? I brought my own chocolate." Gilda was now confused but she was still on the defensive. "Just go away now or I’ll rip you 2! Got it?!" said Gilda yelling. "But I can already do that." the creature split himself into several pieces and started to do the can-can. Luna woke up and saw Gilda shouting at discord. "Ahh miss Luna. I trust that you had a good nap." said discord. "Please just go away." Luna whispered barely able to stand. "Don’t you like my gift Luna? It makes up for missing 1000 birthday's right." said discord, turning a rock into a dancing ice cream. "No it doesn’t. In fact it's hurting me. Just get rid of it." "Nope, I won't Luna. It’s just too much fun to watch!" Gilda punched discord in the face, sending him to the ground. "Fix her or I will kill you!" yelled Gilda. "She hasn't told you I’m guessing." said discord. "About what?" Gilda turned to Luna to surrport her. "The other part of my story. When discord became that thing, me and Celestia fought him off but he cursed me. The curse causes horrible pain and suffering to anyone of royal blood." Gilda set Luna down gently and turned towards discord again. "Take that curse of her now!" said Gilda. Discord made a cloud appear and drank some chocolate milk and spat it out into a tree, making it explode. "Why would I do that? Now if you excuse me, I’m leaving now. I’ve got a date with princess Celestia, though I will leave Luna with some milk." discord throwed some chocolate milk and Luna but Gilda covered her and took the explosion. Luna looked over at Gilda, seeing Gilda hold back tears of pain before fainting on top of Luna. She tried to lift Gilda up but her magic was weakened by the curse. All she could do was waiting until something happened so until then she just waited... Many hours later... Luna felt tired but she saw something happen. The sky stopped flashing from night to day, the soap on the ground turned back into grass and the clouds stopped raining chocolate and went back to normal. "Gilda wake up." Luna nudged Gilda but got no response. Luna moved herself from under Gilda and saw the damage to her friend: one of her wings was completely destroyed and she had lost a large amount of blood. Luna in a rush opened a portal carried Gilda back through with her magic and portaled into her room. She placed Gilda on her bed and went to get some help. Luna ran out of her room and accidently bumped into her sister. "Luna I was looking..." Celestia was cut off. "I need to find a doctor, quickly." said Luna. She started crying and led Celestia to Gilda. "What happened here?" asked Celestia in a shocked tone. "She saved me from discord. Now please help her!" Luna raised her voice but was muffled by her crying. "It’s okay Luna. Everything will be alright. I’ll go get the doctors. You stay here with Gilda." Celestia teleported out of Luna’s room. Gilda layed motionless on Luna’s bed, only breathing every now and then. "Maybe I can fix her up." Luna horn shown bright but nothing happened to Gilda. She didn't move, she didn't heal, nothing at all. Luna started crying, this time in much greater quantity then before. "Please don't die on me Gilda. I don't want to lose you. Please just wake up." Luna kept crying then the door opened and some doctors came in and started to move her to the hospital. 1 hospital trip later... Gilda was placed on the hospital and examined by the doctors. After a while, one of the doctors came over to Luna. "She’s still alive." he sighed. "But she has some incredibly bad injuries. One of her wings is completely destroyed, except for some nerves here and there. Also she lost quite a lot of blood and this caused her to go into a state of deep shock." "At least she's alive. Doctor Can I ask something?" the doctor nodded. "Could I give one of my wings to her?" the doctor thought this over. "Well maybe. But the procedure is painful and..." "I don't care about any of that." said Luna. "Please though think it over. This operation is just as painful for the both of you. Reattaching nerves is one thing but removing ones wing is painful ordeal. At least wait until Gilda wakes up." Luna sighed and nodded. "You’re welcome to stay here as long as you like at least until visitor hours are over." said the doctor. Luna waited by Gilda’s bed all night long, waiting for her friend to wake up, all the while Luna thought to herself about the operation. "Should I go through with it? I could die but Gilda could fly again and that means everything to her." Luna sighed. "I don't fly that much anyway but still, what Gilda think of me if I gave up flying? She would probably think that I’m pathetic quitter who doesn’t deserve to fly. She wouldn’t think that though... would she?" after a while, Luna went back to the castle and just went to bed, barley asleep from her thoughts. //-------------------------------------------------------// waiting. //-------------------------------------------------------// waiting. It’s been a week ever since the injury and everything seems to have gotten worse. Everyday Luna would go to the hospital and visit Gilda and stay for the rest of the day, waiting for her friend to wake up. She would ask the doctors if she would wake up yet the answer would be the same every time though. They didn't know when Gilda would wake up ether. At home, Celestia was worried for her sister. She wanted to tell Luna to stop visiting her, to stop hurting herself, to stop waiting for something that might not happen but that would just make things worse though. Celestia wondered though, did Luna consider Gilda more than a friend. She decided to find out herself. Luna was heading off to the hospital as this had grown to be a normal custom to her now. She didn't bring anything along except the flute that Gilda played now and then. She often played it at the hospital to see if she would get a reaction but it never worked. On her way out of the castle, she was stopped by her sister. "Morning Luna. Heading off to see Gilda again." Luna nodded to Celestia. "Luna can I ask something about you and Gilda." Luna nodded. "Do you love her?" Luna replied with "I love her as much as I can love her. Is there something wrong with alicorn loving a griffin? Or am I not allowed to love my best friend." exclaimed Luna. "No it's just if you love her that much then I’m happy for you. I just don't want you to get hurt that's all." Celestia said to Luna in a caring tone. "Thanks but I’m okay. I love Gilda and even if she doesn’t love me back, were still friends." Luna headed off to the hospital now and Celestia went back inside to plan some things for a meeting. "Hay zero, got a minute?" asked vile. "Yeah sure what's wrong?" asked zero in a deep voice. "You know Luna and Gilda? I was planning on getting them something, sort of a get well present to them." said vile. "There’s nothing wrong with Luna pyhisicley but mentally I don’t know, as far as I can see. Though that is kind of you." said zero. "So what's the problem again." "I have no clue what to get Luna or Gilda." while they were talking another guard came along, though a familiar one. "Captain Raisan!" zero and vile saluted to him. "No need for that right now. I came over to tell vile that princess Celestia requires your service for something of major importance." vile went off rather quickly. "So what were you 2 talking about anyway?" asked Raisan. "Oh we were going to get Luna and Gilda something but we don't know what though." Raisan got out of his satchel something. "Give this to Gilda and this to Luna." he handed over a medal and white orchid to zero. "I was going to give the medal to Gilda for saving Luna’s life and the orchid to Luna because Gilda wanted me to. These will do fine now get along now." zero went off. Vile headed to princess Celestia in the main hall to speak with her. When he arrived, Celestia looked very happy for some reason. "Greetings vile." said Celestia. "Your majesty. What do you require of me." vile bowed to Celestia. "No need for that vile. Actually I wanted to ask if you wanted to go with me on a trip. I would of taken Luna but as you know she's got other things on her mind right now. The trip is to an old friend of mine in the griffon kingdom." said Celestia. "I would be delighted to go. When would we be leaving?" asked vile. "Tomorrow. We’ll be staying at an inn due to a dragon attack on the castle there and I don't want to be an inconvenience to them." Celestia smiled. "Beautiful and caring." vile said, leaving Celestia with a small blush on her face. "I’ll see you tomorrow vile." she smiled and went off. It was getting late so everyone returned back to their homes for sleep... except Luna. Luna was still waiting next to Gilda, just hoping she would wake up. "Visiting hours are almost over Miss Luna." said the doctor. "Can’t I stay? Just tonight." asked Luna. "Look I know that you want to see your friend again but I’m sorry, the rules are the same for everypony." Luna stood up. "I understand. Can I say my goodbye's first?" asked Luna in somber tone. "Sure. Just don't take too long." the doctor went off. "Hay Gilda, Luna here though you probably can't see me or hear me for that matter. Gilda if you don't wake up, then I’ll go to sleep with you. I love you Gilda, more than anything in the world. I want to play you a song for you, if that's okay with you." Luna got out Gilda’s flute and played a slow, rather sad song. It didn't last long but Luna tried to play something she hadn't played in a while. "I hope you liked it Gilda. Maybe you can play me something one day, if you wake up of course." Luna let a couple of tears run down her face and then left the hospital for home. The next day... Celestia had packed what she would need to meet her friend as had vile. They travelled by chariot over there. "Celestia why don't you just teleport there or something?" asked vile. "Teleportation spells are designed to teleport just the user. Besides I like traveling like this. That way I get to see the scenery." Celestia smiled vile on the other hand was not doing so well. "Is something wrong vile?" asked Celestia. "It’s nothing really. I just have a fear of heights that's all." said vile. Celestia moved vile closer to her with one of her wings. "Do you feel better now?" asked Celestia. Vile's eye's shot open. The gentle feel of Pegasus feathers felt divine. "I’m fine now." vile smiled at Celestia. "Your blushing vile." vile mentally hoofed himself again. "Sorry about that. You are... never mind." said vile sheepishly. "We’re here." the chariot stopped and Celestia and vile go off and were greeted by a large griffon. "Celestia!" the griffon gave a warm hug to Celestia. "Hello rouge or blaze as you prefer to be called." said Celestia. "You know I prefer blaze, what with my feathers and wings being red and such." said blaze. "Who’s this little one here?" "Names Vile, guard to the princess." said vile, bowing to blaze. "None of that formal crud here. Griffons treat those close to them as brothers or sisters so if your friends with Celestia, then your my cousin." said blaze. "okay." said vile, confused at what blaze had just said. "Now what were we talking about again? Something to do with your dragon attack." said Celestia. "Yes the dragon has moved away now but some of our houses and large chunk of my home were burned down. I was going to ask if you could send over some workers or something." blaze gave a cocky grin. "I’ll see what I can do. There were other issues you wanted to discuss as well." said Celestia. "Yes, yes of course but stay in my brothers inn tonight though it's a one roomer. All the inns are filled up at the moment so you won't be able to get a 2 bed room." said blaze. "I’ll take you there now." 10 minutes later... They made it to the inn. It was surprisingly big and had a sense of adventure to it, thought that might be because that how the outside was decorated to look like a fortress. Vile, Celestia and blaze went inside and were met with some glares from some of the griffons, mostly at vile for some reason. Blaze went up to his brother and told him about his friends. Blazes brother escorted Celestia and vile upstairs to their room. It wasn't much, just a large bed and a bathroom and a wardrobe for keeping clothes in but it had to do for now. "You can have the bed Celestia." said vile. "Where would you sleep then?" asked Celestia. "I’ll sleep on the floor, just like when I was younger." said vile. "How about we share the bed tonight? That way neither of us has to sleep on the floor. Unless there's a problem?" Vile gulped. "S-sure p-princess. I humbly accept." Vile stuttered but got back to his regular self in a couple of seconds. After a while, it became night and Celestia and vile went to bed, with vile going to sleep almost instantly. Celestia smiled and looked at vile for a minute. "He’s a good friend but maybe he's being to kind to me? Except one room in particular, Luna’s room. She stayed up trying to think of a way to help her friend. She spent hours every day looking through hundreds of books, trying to find a way to wake up her friend but she had not found what she had wanted but it would do. It was a mind melding spell that would allow Luna to enter Gilda’s mind. All she had to do was get some ingredients. She went outside her room and looked around for someone to help her. "Morning Luna." said zero. "Hello zero. What brings you here?" asked Luna. "Oh well Gilda wanted me to give you something." zero got out the gift to Luna: a white orchid. "When did..." Luna was admiring the beauty of the flower and placed it in her hair. "Gilda wanted to give it to you, saying you were very special to her but she was scared that you would hate her for it." "Why would she think that?! What’s wrong with 2 people being in love!?" exclaimed Luna. "Well it's not really the whole love thing but it's just in the griffon kingdom, a love between same sex couples is considered wrong and there's also the fact that your royalty doesn’t help. She’s cares for you but she doesn’t want to see you hurt." "I don't care what people would think of us, she's more important than anyone's thoughts." said Luna. "That’s just what Celestia said a couple of years ago to twilight sparkle I believe." said zero. "I never thought Celestia had something like that." said Luna, surprised by that statement. "Yeah but for her, that story had a sad ending. Shame really, they were perfect for each other." zero sighed. "Zero, could you help me with something? It’s to help Gilda." said Luna in a somber tone. Zero nodded and they went off. They went into the canterlot shopping district and started to search for the first item on the list: phoenix feathers. "Couldn’t we just get some feathers of that bird that Celestia has?" asked zero. "Yes but I can't find that blasted bird anywhere. I believe Celestia said something about a migration of phoenixes or something like that. Besides were not looking for feathers, were looking for a flower that's named phoenix feathers." said Luna. "Okay then. Besides there's a shop around here that sell's exotic stuff like that around here." said zero. They searched for the shop and came across a rather strange shop that piqued Luna’s interest. "Ello there, what ya buying?" asked the robed pony. "I’m looking for ingredients for a potion I’m making so I’m just seeing if you have any ingredients." said Luna. "Ahh I see. Let me guess what's on the list: phoenix feathers, crocodile tears, moon ash and a star rose." said the robed pony. "That’s right" Luna was impressed. "How did you know?" asked Luna. "Lucky guess. Lady Luck seems to be in a good mood today as I have one of those things you require, the star rose thing." said the robed pony. "Oh thank you so much. How much?" asked Luna. "For you, 80 bits." Luna was shocked at the price. "80 bits for a rose! That’s a horrible price!" exclaimed Luna. "You need it don't you?" Luna nodded. "80 bits at the least or ya can screw off!" exclaimed the robbed pony who then got tackled by zero, who appeared from behind. Zero ripped of the hood of the robe to reveal who the pony was. He had a scar on his face a black hair but nothing else to make him stand out. "You realise it's against the law to insult a member of the royal family!" exclaimed zero. "I have every right to say what I want about who I want." said the black haired pony. "Look we'll let this pass but if you give us what we came for. Either that or we fine you for 200 bits." said zero. The black haired pony surrendered and handed over the star rose. "I’m sorry for all of this." said Luna. "I guess I should apologise as well. Look I just have a couple of things wrong with myself at the moment so I’m not in the best of moods." Luna placed a hoof on his shoulder. "Don’t worry, I forgive you." said Luna in a caring tone. "Luna, I know where we can get crocodile tears so we should go now." Luna nodded and went with zero. Luna looked rather upset and sighed. "Zero, you said that Celestia had a relationship like mine and you said it ended on a sad note. Why?" asked Luna. "I don’t know why to be honest. I guess it was the pressure of the whole thing. Love between same sex couples around here is frowned at by the general public around here and gets on my bucking nerves!" exclaimed zero. Luna was surprised by the outburst. "I didn't know you felt so strongly about this." said Luna. "It’s my sister you see. She loves her best friend and they want to get married but the problem is there scared they’ll be ridiculed for it which gets on my nerves. Luna I want to ask a favour of you." zero said in a confident tone. "And that would be?" said Luna. "Can my sister have your blessing at her wedding? She told me if I could get someone other than me to bless her at her wedding, then she would go through with It." said zero. "Of course... but on one condition." said Luna. Zero perked his ears. "She has to do the wedding at night." said Luna. Zero had a confused look on his face. “well okay but why?" asked zero. "I think you'll be happy when it happens." said Luna with a small smile on her face. "Thanks Luna. I’ll tell my sister tonight." With that they went to get the rest of the ingredients. Meanwhile with Celestia and vile... Vile woke up to see the piercing the windows, making his eye's sting a bit but nothing much. He looked over and saw Celestia asleep, holding him in her front legs. Vile started to look over her, admiring her body but he stopped and thought to himself "remember vile, she's a princess and you’re a guard. Besides you have more important things to worry about." vile went to the small bathroom and washed his face. He put on his got his helmet and gave it a quick clean. Celestia awoke a while after. "Morning princess, I trust you slept well?" asked vile, smiling and in a joyful tone. "Fairly well considering I forgot something." said Celestia. "I usually cuddle something while I’m asleep so I take a teddy to bed with me. You won't tell anyone, will you vile?" asked Celestia. "Actually you used me as a teddy last night." said vile. "Oh. Sorry about that." said Celestia. "It’s no problem. Actually it was rather nice." Vile saying this made Celestia smile and blush. After some food, Celestia and vile went off to meet blaze and discuss what was going to happen to the griffon kingdom. After about 10 minutes, they arrived at blazes home. Unlike Celestias castle which was massive, blazes home was the same size as everyone else's homes. The main difference was that blazes home had a balcony but other than that, it was fairly low class for someone of royalty. "I would have thought his home would be bigger than this." said vile. "Blaze is leaves that having luxuries disconnects him from his friends, so he lives the same way that everyone else does." Blaze was on top of the balcony of his home and jumped down to Celestia and vile. He landed and made vile fall over in shock. "I’m guessing you’re not used to that. Ahh oh well." blaze lifted vile to feet. "Now let's head inside were we can discuss all of this. I have pie!" blaze was insanely happy and escorted Celestia and vile into his. He has a large sofa and a fireplace in the living room along with decorations of both weapons and some animal heads mounted on his wall. “I take it that you hunt sir blaze?" asked vile. "Hell yeah I do! Though Celle here thinks I am a bit brutal with it." said blaze. "Only a little bit." Celestia smiled. "Besides, that's not what were here to talk about though." Celestia sat down next to vile and blaze sat on an opposite seat and started to talk. "So what exactly do you require blaze?" asked vile. "Nothing much, just some food supplies and possible some help with rebuilding some homes." said blaze. He smiled. "I’d be glad to help you. Just write down how much you'll need and I’ll see what I can do." said Celestia in a caring tone. "Thank you so much Celle. I’ll down what we need now and I’ll send it to you when it's ready." said blaze. "It’s been an honour meeting you blaze." said vile who bowed to blaze. "Ahh stop with the formal junk and give me hug." Blaze gave a group hug to Celestia and vile. After that, Celestia and vile headed back to canterlot. On the way back, vile said something. "Thank you." vile looked up at Celestia. "I needed this." Celestia was confused. "Why did you need this?" vile sighed. "Problems at home. You don't want to hear them." said vile. "You’re my friend vile so I shall listen to you." Celestia placed her wing around vile. "Now tell me please." vile smiled. "When I took my bro to the doctors about a month ago, they said he had another 2 years before he would die. He was happy but I was not. He didn't understand that 2 years is rather short. As the days went by, he got worse and worse until one night I checked on him and..." vile started to cry into Celestia wing. "He was very special to you I see." Celestia said in a caring tone. "I’ve had many friends over my years and they have gone. I miss them but I try to get through it." Celestia looked down at vile. "Is that why you and twilight sparkle..." vile was cut off by Celestia. "Yes that's why. I don't want to lose another love like that again." Celestia's smile went away. They approached canterlot. Back with Luna and Zero... It was late in the afternoon and Luna and zero had gathered the ingredients they needed for Luna’s potion. "Zero, thank you so much for helping me with this." Luna smiled at zero. "It was no problem. Now hurry back and make that thing, I’ve got to check some stuff around here so I’ll see you tomorrow." Luna waved goodbye Zero and headed back to the castle. She placed out the ingredients and read the instructions. "Step 1: cut the petals of the star rose and place in a bowl with the crocodile tears." Luna followed. "Next, ground up the phoenix feathers and then add the moon ash with it. Place the 2 into the same bowl as the crocodile tears and star rose petals. Easy enough." Luna followed and yawned. "I must be tired from the one of the ingredients." "Okay let's see here... add water and mix until it's a green liquid then drink. Once you drink the potion you will be able to enter any person's dreams at will and interact with their thoughts." Luna added water and stirred until it was the green colour though the smell almost made Luna throw up. "Okay, here it goes." Luna drank the potion in one go. She went off to her bedroom and started to fall asleep. "Hopefully this will work." Luna fell asleep and the potions effects took place... //-------------------------------------------------------// the land of dreams. //-------------------------------------------------------// the land of dreams. Luna woke up but not in the real world. She woke up in what appeared to be an open field that had hundreds of ponies asleep and dreaming. Luna walked a for a bit a saw that whenever she got close to a pony, a door would appear right beside them, allowing her to enter their dreams and thoughts. But Luna was looking for Gilda's thoughts. "If this is a dream then maybe I can..." Luna thought about Gilda and she started to appear in front of her, though it was just an image. "Damn it! Looks like I’ll have to search everywhere for her thoughts." Luna let out an annoyed sigh. "The more time I spend talking to myself, the more time I waste." said Luna as she started searching. Looking around she saw the dreams of everyone in canterlot at first but that was at first. As she continued to search for Gilda's thoughts, more and more dreams started to appear. Luna started to get rather annoyed by this. "Okay Luna thinks about this. Where would Gilda be." as she said that a shadowy figure appeared. "I can be of assistance to you Miss Luna." he bowed to Luna. "Who are you exactly?" asked Luna, curious as to who this was or what he might be. "Well there are the royal sisters that control the sun and moon so I guess I’m the brother to the crown. Names nirvana." Luna was surprised. "So your my brother?!" exclaimed Luna. "No I was the brother of royal siblings before you and before them so in a way I am your brother. Though this is the first time anyone has seen me in quite a while." said nirvana. "What about my sister princess Celestia? Doesn’t she see you?" nirvana moved his head in disagreement. "I’ll help you find Gilda's thoughts. she needs you a lot at the moment." with a swing of his horn, Luna and nirvana teleported near what appeared to be a hospital." They entered the hospital and saw many dreaming ponies though they seemed at pain with themselves. "I look after those that suffer from there thought and dreams. I've seen families suffer because of a child's simple nightmare but I've seen death brought upon by one's thoughts." he sighed. "This is Gilda's room right here." the doors opened and they walked inside. Luna saw Gilda on her bed and ran over. “How is she doing?" asked Luna. Nirvana sighed. "Not well. If it wasn't for you visiting her at the hospital, she would have died by now." said nirvana. He handed something to Luna. "This key opens up her thoughts so you can enter them. I would go but I've got other things to do for now." nirvana went off. Luna used the key and opened the door to Gilda's thoughts. "Here goes nothing." Luna went into Gilda's thoughts. She entered into Gilda's thoughts and saw open plains as far as the eye can see, a sunset in the horizon and a full moon as well with the stars out. "So these are Gilda's thoughts? I was expecting something else but this is nice." thought Luna. She started to fly for a bit but not to high so she wouldn’t crash. She saw in the distance a Pegasus and checked to see who it was. She was blue and had a rainbow mane. "Wait. Is this the rainbow dash that's always in the letters? It couldn’t be." Luna went up to her. "Excuse me." Luna said to the rainbow haired Pegasus. "Hi there. What’s with you?" she asked. "Well I’m looking for someone called Gilda. I was wondering if you knew where she was." asked Luna. "Oh she's sick. I can take you to her if you want?" she asked. "Thanks. What’s your name?" asked Luna. "Name’s Rainbow dash. Now follow me." dash took off and Luna followed at a much slower pace. They travelled for about an hour now and Luna started to realize something about Gilda from this. She was expecting Gilda's mind to be much more rough and loud but it was gentle and quite. "What was Gilda like to you rainbow?" asked Luna. "She was really nice once I got to know her, though she used to be all tough and stuff. It made her a brute and I think she knows that." said Rainbow dash. "Besides, she really likes you Luna." rainbow smiled at Luna while Luna herself gave a smile back as well. "I like her as well but what about you and Gilda?" asked Luna. Celestia had said something a while back about an old friend of rainbow dash returning to pony vile but not much was said. "We were close, kind of like sisters." she sighed and saddened. "Well here we are." they landed outside a small, rundown house that had hole through the roof. "Is this her home?" asked Luna. "Where she lived growing up if that's what you mean, then yes. Now I’m going to go off for a bit." rainbow dash flew off and Luna entered the house. The outside looked like a wreak but the inside was much worse. It was cold and damp, there was no furniture, the paint on the walls peeling off and there were multiple holes in the walls. Luna headed up stairs and looked into one of the rooms to see Gilda awake and stretching her wings. Gilda saw Luna and smiled. "Hi there Luna. I haven't seen you in a while." she was very happy to see Luna, though maybe too happy. "Gilda when was the last time you saw me?" asked Luna. "Yesterday, why?" she replied. "Do you remember the incident with discord?" asked Luna. Gilda nodded. "You’ve been in hospital for about a week now in a coma." Gilda got confused by this. "No I’m not. Discord didn't hurt me at all." Luna sighed. "He did hurt you. He blew off one of your wings. This is a dream right now. You know me Gilda, I wouldn’t lie to you and you know It." said Luna. She hated telling her about her wings. "Prove this is a dream and I’ll wake up." Gilda moved closer to Luna. "What are you doing Gilda?" said Luna. "This." Gilda placed her beck on Luna's muzzle. Luna's eye's shot open as her mind went all over the place but then her eye's started to close shut. Luna broke the kiss. "I love you Gilda." Gilda moved back a bit. "Now I know this is a dream. I’ll wake up now but when I wake up, I’ll have seen this as a dream." Luna saddened. "So you won't remember this at all?" Gilda nodded. Before Luna could ask something else everything started to break and she woke. Luna got out of her bed and went straight to the hospital. She wanted to see Gilda wake up and nothing would stop her. After a couple of minutes, she made it to the hospital and went to Gilda's room. She hadn't woken up yet. "I’m glad you’re here Luna. Gilda's mental state has improved quite a deal since I last checked on her." said the doctor. "That’s wonderful!" exclaimed Luna. Gilda's breathing started to increase in speed. "She’s waking up. I’ll leave you 2 for a bit call me back in if there's a serious problem. The doctor went off. Luna knelled besides Luna bed. Gilda eye's started to open. To Gilda, everything was blurry. She couldn’t see what was in front of her though she recognized the voice. It was Luna's voice. "Luna is that you?" asked Gilda. "It’s me Gilda." she held Gilda's claw. "I’m here for you Gilda, whatever you need." said Luna. Gilda felt a pain in her back. She checked her back and couldn’t feel one of her wings. "Where’s my wing?!" Gilda started to get stressed and worried. Luna tried to carm her down. She stroked the back of her head. "Gilda you've been asleep for a week after the discord incident. When you saved me but you lost one of your wings in the process... and I’m sorry." Gilda was confused. "What are you sorry for? Gilda was still stressed but she kept a carm mind when Luna was helping her like this. "You’re probably a bit light headed from all of this. I’ll take you back to the castle." Gilda nodded but she seemed scared for some reason. "Thanks Luna. Can I ask a favour though?" asked Gilda in almost a whisper. "Sure Gilda." Luna said in a caring tone. "Do you mind if I sleep in your room tonight?" Luna was confused as to why Gilda was so scared but she smiled. "Of course Gilda." Luna didn't ask any more questions and brought Gilda back to the castle. The journey back was rather slow. Most of the time Gilda would fly everywhere so she's wasn't that much of walker so Luna kept by her side the way back. "Thanks for being there when I woke up. To be honest I thought no one cared enough to bother but you did and I owe you for that." Gilda smiled at Luna. "You don't owe me anything. You would have done the same thing. Besides I want to ask you something tomorrow." they approached the castle and Luna took Gilda into her room. "Thanks Luna. I don't want to be alone tonight." Gilda went on her back but immediately shot upwards from the pain in her back. "I’m gonna have to get used to that." said Gilda. She sighed. And went into the bed again with Luna. They both went to sleep with Luna being happy and Gilda being worried for her future. She couldn’t fly and to her that was everything. What was going to happen to her now? She moved closer to Luna and smiled. "At least I have you." Gilda went to sleep and started dreaming about what she usually dreamed off: her old life in clouds dale. //-------------------------------------------------------// getting better. //-------------------------------------------------------// getting better. late at night everyone was in a deep sleep, dreaming about things like the future and happy thoughts, all at peace of mind with the world... all except Gilda. the pain from her missing wing kept her up all the night and she could't sleep. she moved around a bit, trying to get comfy but all attempts failed. all the movement woke up princess Luna who looked over at the tired griffon and gave a caring gaze over to Gilda. "Gilda, are you having trouble sleep?" Gilda sighed and explained that the pain from her missing wing was making it impossible for her to sleep. "i have something that will help." Luna got out of a drawer near her bed a small vial of light blue liquid. "crushed up moon flowers always help me when i can't sleep." Luna gave the vial to Gilda. "thanks Luna." she drank the blue liquid and went to sleep almost instantly. Luna looked over the sleeping griffon and smiled. "i'm glad your back Gilda. i missed you." Luna closed her eye's and went to sleep with a smile on her face. the next morning... Gilda woke and felt happy for the first time in a while. she looked over and saw that Luna was still asleep. she smiled and thought back to when she knew rainbow dash and all the good times she had with her. Gilda had almost forgotten the incident pony vile. still she didn't want to look back at that though. she had lost her best friend from that incident. Luna woke up and gave Gilda a smile. "i'll go make you some pancakes Gilda." Luna got out of the bed and went to the kitchen. Gilda smiled. she thought about everything Luna had done for her. "i owe her for everything, though she owe's me for saving her i think. i need to clear my head." Gilda got up and followed the smell of pancakes. Luna finished making the pancakes and went out of the kitchen and saw Gilda. "hi there Gilda. i see you came for the pancakes i see?" Luna giggled a bit and gave the Delicious breackfest to Gilda. Luna ate her's in a civilized way were as Gilda ate her's in one bite. "these are good Luna. you seem to be good everything except flying." luna smiled. "that's nice of you to say. gilda i wanted to ask something but i'm curious, what would you say to me if i gave up flying?" "well you can't really fly in the first place but i would say that you have so many other things your good at that make you wonderful and unique." luna blushed slightly. "just curious that's all. i wanted to ask you if you wanted one of my wings?" gilda was shocked at this. "wait what?!" luna gave a caring smile to gilda. "flying is your life gilda, and i'm giving you your life back." gilda wanted to cry tears of joy but she didn't want her closest friend hurt for her own reasons but she was offering and flying was everything to her. "can i have day or 2 to think about this? i need to think this over." "of course gilda. besides i need to go to pony vile today. my sisiter thought it would be a good idea to go down to pony vile for nightmare night." luna gave gilda a caring smile. "yeah i see it. you know this is nice. to be honest i thought this was gonna be boring as hell." Luna smiled at Gilda. "well i'm glad you enjoyed it because i wanted to do something tonight but i need someone to help me with it." "sure i'll help. what do i need to do anyway?" Gilda and Luna stood up. "just stand still. this won't hurt a bit." Luna's horn started to glow and a wave of blue magic enveloped Gilda. the magic broke and Luna feel to the ground but the spell was a success. "Well it lasts a year then I’ll have to do the spell again... sorry that it's not perman-" Gilda hugged Luna. "Stop saying sorry already. It wasn't your fault I lost my wing it was that weird goat thing." Gilda let go of Luna. "Besides I was going to ask you something that's all." Luna gave a curious look. "Seeing as winter's coming up, do you want to go somewhere for the holidays?" asked Gilda. "What did you have in mind?" asked Luna, smiling at the idea. "I have a little cabin near the beach for winter. Want to join me?" Gilda held out her claw as if she was giving an invite. "Of course Gilda, though winter wrap up isn't for a few months though." Luna shook Gilda's claw. "But I would love to, just need to tell cele that I won't be here this year for winter wrap up." "Fine. Do you want to get some lunch, I’m starving." Gilda's stomach rumbled loudly. "Sure, I’m buying." said Luna, opening the portal back to canterlot. Luna grabbed some change and went off with Gilda to a little restraunt. "This is the place." Gilda and Luna went inside the small and deserted restraunt. "This is rather quiet." said Luna looking around at the place. it had some deserts and ice cream so it was sweet shop but there was no kids any were, no pony's to enjoy the music that played in the background, no one. "Gilda!" the shop keeper came out and ran up to Gilda. "Twirly my friend, how are you?" "Oh good. Low business for a while but nothing else." Twirly sighed. "Well I’m here, your usual regular and I brought a friend with me. Twirly meet Luna, my best friend." Twirly looked at Luna. "Hi there Luna. So what can I get you two today? Chocolate Sundays, some muffins or something else?" "I’ll just I have some ice cream please." "I’ll have your sugar explosions Twirly." Luna was curious. "A what?" "There muffins with ice cream on top and a ton of sugar." Gilda started to drool. "Oh... I’ll have one of those then." Twirly passed two sugar explosions to Gilda and Luna. Gilda ate her's in one bite and fell to the floor in a fit of laughter. "Is that normal?" asked Luna. "Yep if you eat it one bite." said Twirly. "I’ll just take a bit for now then." Luna took a small bite sending shivers down her spine. "I can see why Gilda likes these so much, there Delicious." Luna ate the rest and fell over laughing from a sugar rush. 10 minutes later... Gilda and Luna stopped laughing as the sugar rush wore off. "Twirly I’ll take a box full to go." Twirly went out back and got a box for Gilda. "Okay Gilda that will be 25 bits." Gilda followed Luna. "Where are we going to anyway?" asked Gilda. Luna stopped and looked disappointed. "Never mind." said Luna, saddened. "What’s wrong now?" asked Gilda, putting a claw on Luna's shoulder. "There used to be a little park here, were me and Cele would play when we were young. Now it's gone." Luna shed a few tears. "Luna... I’m still here." Gilda wiped the tears out of Luna's eyes. "For how long though? How long before you disappear?" "I dunno, a while yet." Luna was still crying. "Get on my back I want to show you something." Luna grabbed on and Gilda took off. "Where are we going?" asked Luna, holding tightly on to Gilda. "Just a bit higher." replied Gilda. "We’re here." Gilda set Luna onto some clouds. "Where are we anyway?" asked Luna. "Just a way high up that's all. This is my little patch right here were I keep some stuff I find here and there." Gilda got out a blue feather. "This belonged to rainbow dash, my best friend... before I met her other friends." "You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." Gilda nodded. "Thanks. Though that's not the main reason I brought you up here." Gilda moved closer to Luna. "What are you doing Gilda?" asked Luna. "I just want to tell you that I..." Gilda mumbled the last bit. "You what?" asked Luna. "I love you Luna." Gilda held Luna tightly and started to cry. "Please don't hate me for saying that!" Gilda said, muffled by her tears. Gilda got up and picked up Luna and went back to the castle. The day had gone by so quickly that it was sunset now. "I’m going to head off to bed Luna see you to-" Gilda was cut off by Luna. "Could you stay up a bit longer tonight?" Luna said in a soft voice. "Okay Luna. What do you need to do anyway?" asked Gilda. "Nothing much, just making some new stars that's all." Luna took Gilda to a balcony at the top of the castle. "What colour should the stars be tonight Gilda, blue or white?" asked Luna, smiling at Gilda. "What about a ton of colours instead of just those two?" Gilda suggested. "Okay then." Luna jumped for joy. "Are you okay Luna? You’re acting really weird tonight." Gilda walked over to Luna and placed a claw on her shoulder. "Nothing’s wrong Gilda, I’m just happy that you’re up here with me that's all." Luna's horn glowed and changed the stars green, blue, pink, red and a bunch of other colours. "Luna it's beautiful." Gilda said, at awe at the sky's multiple colours going across the night sky. Gilda looked at Luna and saw she was asleep. "Off to bed Luna." Gilda picked up Luna and took her to her room. "There you go Luna, all cosy and warm." Gilda placed Luna on her bed but as she left, Luna grabbed Gilda and held her close. "Come here Gilda, Luna wants a hug." Luna said in her sleep. Luna didn't like the idea of hiding secrets but if Gilda said it would end badly, she would keep quiet about it, until Gilda would agree to tell about it as well. Luna and Gilda were packing their bags and getting ready for the holiday they had planned. Gilda had packed her bag with some of Twirly's muffins, a hat and some other things as were as Luna brought some books in case if there was nothing to do. "Hay Luna you got everything you need?" asked Gilda. "Yes I have everything Gilda, don't worry." Luna smiled at Gilda and kissed her on the cheek, which had become a regular thing for the two. "You’ve told your sister haven't you?" Gilda asked in curious tone. "I have. She said have a good time, which is weird considering her." Luna smiled. "But I really don't care, were going on holiday!" Luna jumped for joy and Gilda could only smile at how happy Luna was. "Okay then, we should head off in a minute to the station and then it'll be a one stop trip and boom were there." Gilda got her bag and Luna got her's as they went off. They got to the train station and got on board though there was no one else there. "Is this a private part of the train or something?" asked Gilda, surprised at how quiet it was. "Being a royal has some advantages Gilda. Maybe one day you’ll be a royal as well." Luna looked at Gilda giving a smile to her. "What do you mean? I’m not of royal blood remember?" Gilda said in annoyance. Luna smiled at Gilda. "Well if we ever decide to be more than just lovers..." Luna trailed off. Gilda smiled. "I would like that Luna. But not yet. I still have some things to do in life." Luna sighed. "Though not that many things though." Luna's smile came back. "How long is this trip anyway?" asked Gilda. "If I remember correctly, about another hour. Do you want some snacks?" asked Luna. "Yeah sure. What do you have?" Luna looked through her bag and got out a small lunch box. "Let’s see... I have chocolate and some muffins, and some sweets." Luna picked up the muffin and Gilda picked up some sweets and ate them rather quickly. 1 hour later... The train stopped and Gilda and Luna got off. "So which way now Gilda?" asked Luna. "Well the cabin is about only a little bit away so we'll be there fairly soon if we fly there." Luna got on Gilda's back. "Let’s go then." Luna nuzzled Gilda's neck, making her blush as she took off. "We’ll be there in few minutes so don't get comfy back there Luna, I know what you’re like." Luna blushed a bit. "I know you like it when I tickle your wings though." "Not when we’re flying. Last thing we want to happen is to crash." Gilda said. Luna sighed. "Okay then." They arrived at the cabin which was rather large and had more than enough room for Luna and Gilda. "Is all this yours Gilda? It’s like a mini palace." Luna exclaimed, surprised at the size. "Well a few friends of mine did gambling and I won the deed to this." Luna was surprised by this. "I feel sorry for your friend though, losing something like this." Gilda laughed a bit. "Nah he just got so drunk he couldn’t fly straight that's all, but he's okay with it and if he pay's me two thousand bit's, he can have it back." Luna smiled. "I guess that's sort of fair. Shall we go inside, it's starting to get rather cold out here." They went inside and looked around. The room was fairly big with large sofa and a fireplace as well. "I guess you got lucky Gilda, I mean this place has everything you need." Luna went over to the fireplace, used some magic and set up a fire. "I’ll make some hot chocolate Luna, you check on the rooms upstairs. I think there's one bedroom so we'll have to share." Gilda grinned. "Okay then Gilda." Luna picked up the bags with her magic and went up stars. Luna walked down the hall and saw there a few door's to multiple rooms. The first door opened up to a balcony with a pool. "Gilda's friend must off spent a lot on this place." Luna thought to herself. She checked on another room that had a large bed and a lot pillows for some reason. "I guess this guy liked pillows for some reason. I’ll ask Gilda later." the last room contained training dummy's that had seen better days and swords on the walls. Luna looked around to see if there was anything else to spot. All she found however was a strange helmet, designed for a unicorn. Luna put on the helmet and acted like a little kid pretending to be hero. Luna was having fun being a kid again... until Gilda walked in. "Luna, what are you doing?" asked a confused Gilda. Luna had an embarrassed look on her face. "Just pretending that's all." Luna squeaked in front of Gilda and took it off. "Keep it on Luna. It makes you look cute... well cuter." Luna blushed. "You think so? Well I can't keep it anyway, it's your friends. Still, I wouldn’t mind having this." Gilda took the helmet off. "Actually, don't wear it." "Why? You said I look cuter." asked Luna. "It covers your beautiful eyes." Gilda kissed Luna. "Gilda, I love you." Luna held Gilda tightly. "I know Luna, you've said that a hundred ti-" Luna kissed Gilda but lost her balance and fell to the floor with Gilda. Luna nuzzled Gilda's neck, making her giggle. "You know, you’re really adorable when you giggle Gilda." Luna planted a kiss on Gilda's cheek. "Do you want to go to bed now Luna?" Gilda asked, though Luna knew what she meant. "Gilda... I want to but I’m scared that's all. I’m sorry." Gilda kissed Luna on the head. "It’s okay. When you want to, just tell me." Luna rolled off Gilda and smiled. "Gilda, do you want to go swimming?" Gilda raised an eyebrow to this. "How, there's no pool. Unless you can make one appear the hell out of nowhere." Gilda thought of this but Luna giggled at the idea. "Your friend has a pool and I though we could go swimming, or just relax for a bit." Luna got up and so did Gilda. "Sounds like a plan." they went off to the pool. "I never knew frank had this." Gilda looked over the large pool that was still clean despite the fact that now one had been there for months. Luna dived in but immediately jumped out. "It’s freezing!" exclaimed Luna. "Just use your magic and turn it into a bubble bath then." Luna's horn glowed and the water started to bubble. "If I know frank, he should have some... here we go." Gilda got out a bottle of herbs and dumped it into the pool. The smell of the herbs was almost heavenly to Luna as she jumped in. "Gilda this feels wonderful." Luna said as she relaxed, her body going numb from the smell of the herbs. Gilda got in next to her and almost immediately lost all thought what so ever. "This feels so good, I could stay here forever and ever. But I feel funny though." Luna smiled and lazily let her body float in the water with Gilda laughing a bit here and there. "Well frank always knew how to spice up a party. Whenever we went here for a party or the holidays, he would bring some of that herb stuff and then everyone would act like there drunk or something." Gilda looked around and Luna had disappeared. "Where’d you go?" Luna jumped at Gilda, scaring Gilda half to death. Luna laughed and kissed Gilda again. "I feel so happy now, like I’m twenty years younger." Luna layed on the water. "Aren’t you a thousand years old or something?" Gilda asked. "Oh yeah I forgot that. Well I feel a lot younger." Luna had a bright idea. "Hay Gilda, have you ever had a little sister?" Luna asked. "No. why?" Gilda raised an eyebrow to this. Luna used some magic on herself and changed herself into a young filly. "Luna!? What are you doing?!" Gilda exclaimed, getting out of the pool with the filly Luna. "I want you to be my big sister." Luna ran up to Gilda's leg and hugged it tightly. "Really? I thought you did this because you’re adorable like this." Gilda picked up Luna and cradled her in her arms. "Don’t treat me like a baby!" Luna said though she started to fall asleep. "What am I going to do with you? Think Gilda, what do little kids eat?" Gilda thought. She took Luna to kitchen and looked around for something to eat. "Can’t go wrong with sweets." gilda got out some sweets and got some milk as well for Luna. "Hay Luna wake up." Gilda said softly, not getting a response. Can you play with me please?" Luna face made it impossible for Gilda to say no. "Sure squirt, what do you want to play?" Luna jumped of Gilda's chest and looked outside. "I want to go in the snow." Gilda raised an eyebrow and looked outside. "I thought there was supposed to be no snow here. Oh well, what do you want to do in the snow anyway?" Luna jumped for joy. "I just want to run around a bit that's all but you have to stay with me though." "I promise I won't leave you on your own." Luna smiled and they went outside. Luna ran off and jumped in the snow, disappearing out of Gilda's sights, though Luna dived in and out of the snow rather easily. Luna jumped out of the snow right at Gilda but she caught Luna. "Yay you caught me Gilda! I love you." Luna hugged Gilda and giggled. "Your feathers tickle my belly." Luna's giggle turned into a laugh and fell into the snow. "Okay Luna you've had some fun, now turn back to normal already." Gilda said, though thinking over were ever a filly Luna is better than an adult Luna. "I can't, the spell last's a whole day then poof I’m back to normal." said Luna, jumping through the snow again but quickly went back to Gilda. "Can we go inside now?" asked Luna. "Sure, I’ll set up the fire." Gilda replied, stroking Luna on the head as they went inside. Luna got on the couch and fell asleep, so Gilda carried Luna off to bed and placed her gently under the covers. "Night Luna." Gilda said before stocking Luna on the head. She went down stairs with a spare blanket in the bed room and some pillows to the couch and set herself up for some sleep. "If Luna stay's like this, does this mean I would have to look after her or would Celestia do that? Nah doesn't matter for now. Luna said the spell would wear off and then we can go back to before." Celestia had offered him a proper home, a bed that wasn't filled with who knows what inside, it was close to work and he was near the pony that he considered his best friend Celestia. vile got out of bed, washed his face and went to do his duties as usual, standing outside the royal library. he had been moved there under celestias personal request, which made him happy as for one, he was allowed into the library and look around for any books that suited his taste, Celestia would always visit him and talk a bit here and there and it was just a happy time for Vile in general. zero came along to vile. "hay there vile, how's dating the princess going?" zero asked, smiling even though he had a black eye. "what happened to your eye?" vile looked at the injury. it was heavily bruised and looked puffed up as well. "I got into a fight with one of the recruits but I had a good reason! he said my sister was a scumbag that should be sent to the reaches of the Everfree forest and never talked to again... so my hoof met his face and now he might need a new jaw or a new face though his face to begin with wasn't a pleasant sight to begin with." "that doesn't explain the eye though." vile added, getting out some medicine from his bag. "his friend punched me so I broke his hoof... and his wing as well. Pegasus recover from broken wings right?" "I believe so." vile said. as they were talking, a familiar face came by. "hello there vile and um... I’m sorry I don't know your name Mr?" Celestia looked at zero with curiosity. "names zero princess. I’m vile's best friend." Celestia smiled. "that excellent vile." Celestia group hugged zero and vile. "a bit out of nowhere, don't you think princess?" asked zero, trying to get out of the hug. "sorry about that, Luna is coming back today and I’m happy to see her again that's all. she hasn't been on holiday without me before and I’m worried." celestias smile lowered a bit. "when is she coming back?" asked vile. "in an hour or so. why do you ask?" Celestia smile came back in full swing. "well we could always throw her welcome back party, just the four of us." "hay what about me?!" exclaimed zero. "okay zero you can be there as well. just get a cake please?" "I shall! my hoofs will fly me there!" zero ran off, leaving Celestia with a confused face. "is he always like that?" vile simply smiled. "just most of the time Cele." Celestia blushed slightly. "I like it when you call me Cele." "why? it's just you’re a cute little name." Celestia giggled a bit. "because it sounds cute that's why." an hour or so later... zero brought the cake back and set it on a table vile had set up. "Celestia, you sure that Luna's supposed to be back now? she's a bit late." said vile in curious tone. "she's probably getting some sweets on the way back that's all." just then some knocking could be heard on the castle door. Celestia went over and opened the door and almost screamed. Gilda came in and placed the young filly Luna on the ground. "she used some magic on herself to turn her into a little kid." explained Gilda, who laughed at Luna stumbling around a bit. "but why? she knows the risks of using these spells." Celestia said looking at the filly Luna. "Luna, did you do this on purpose?" Celestia asked Luna. "yep and it's a lot of fun!" "I can understand but why though?" Celestia looked worried as Luna wouldn't do anything like this without a good. "I wanted Gilda to be my big sister." celestias jaw dropped. "pardon?" "I want Gilda to be my big sister." Luna said, rolling her eyes. "but I’m your big sister, not her." "you spend all day doing paper work and reading but you never spend any time with me anymore. Gilda's spent more time with me in a few months then you have a thousand years!" exclaimed Luna. Celestia walked off, saddened by what she said. "I’ll go talk to her, zero you coming as well?" zero nodded and went off." Celestia went to her room though forgot to lock the door, allowing vile to enter. he saw Celestia crying heavily. "Celestia... she's wrong, your still her sister." vile said sheepishly, not knowing how to act in this situation. "she's right you know. I haven't been a good sister, I haven't spent any time with her." "well you've been busy looking after a kingdom, which is more important." Celestia looked at vile with slight anger. "no it's not! she's my sister, she matters more to me than anything!" Celestia exclaimed. "I’m sorry, but you shouldn’t take your frustration out on yourself, go spend time with her." vile placed a caring hoof on her shoulder. "well how will take over then until I get back?" Celestia saddened. "I’ll gladly do it for you. it'll just be some paper work an-" Celestia held vile tightly. "oh thank you vile! I could kiss you!" celestias eye's widened in reaction to what she just said. "I wouldn’t mind that to be honest." vile said in almost a whisper though Celestia heard him and planted a kiss on his cheek. "thank you vile, for everything." Celestia smiled. a few hours later... Luna and Gilda met up with Celestia and vile at dinner. Celestia looked at Luna and smiled. "Luna, what would you like to do tomorrow?" Luna looked at Celestia. "I know you Cele, your always busy and never have any time for me anymore." Luna frowned. "I have made time for you and we can do whatever you want to do." Luna smiled brightly. "well okay then, but if you’re lying, then I’m Gilda's sister." Luna looked over at Gilda. "please Gilda, please?" "I dunno. she is your proper sister after all." Gilda smiled sheepishly. "but you feel more like a proper sister then Celestia does. you've spent time with me, we share secrets and all that other sister stuff." Gilda shed a tear. "that's nice of you to say. I would stay but I’m off to bed." Gilda went off to bed. "Luna, all Celestia asks is that you give her a chance and that's all." vile said to Luna. "okay Celestia, tomorrow we'll spend the day together." it had become night and due to Luna being a filly again, she fell to sleep rather early. vile had tucked her into bed and went off to his room were Celestia was waiting. "thank you vile...for everything." "it was nothing princess. I would do anything for the people I care about." vile yawned. Celestia woke up to a small thumping on her chest. She opened her eyes to see Luna, still as a filly bouncing on her. "Morning Cele!" Luna smiled and hugged Celestia. "Morning Luna. "I have a list: first were going play some music together like we used to then were going ice skating like when mum and dad took us when we were little filly's and then were getting some sweets." "When did we play music together? I don't remember that." Celestia looked at Luna, slightly confused. "You played the flute and I played the violin together but that was a thousand years ago so you might be a little bit rusty." Celestia smiled. "When should we start all this?" Luna looked a bit puzzled. "Why do you ask? Do you have work today?! You promised you wouldn't have any work today!" Luna said rather angrily though it wasn't threatening as she was only a little filly. "I have no work planned today I promise." "If you’re lying then I’ll turn you into a filly" Celestia laughed. "Luna you’re already a filly though." "I mean so things can go back to the way they were, before nightmare moon." Luna said rather sombrely. Celestia picked up Luna and held her in her fore legs. "Shh don't worry Luna, I promise that we'll have a good day." "Okay dockey!" Luna jump out of Celestias forelegs and onto Celestias head. "Now let's go all ready!" Celestia got up and went off with Luna. Luna jumped of Celestias head and went to her room and grabbed a violin and a flute. "Here you go Cele." Luna handed the flute to Celestia and grabbed the violin. "What do you want to play?" "Hush now quiet now?" Celestia suggested and Luna smiled. "Well what are you waiting for them?" Celestia played the flute and it sounded pretty bad. Luna covered her ears and waited for Celestia to finish. "How was that?" Luna uncovered her ears "um... maybe I should play the song now, you just sit down." "It was horrible wasn't it?" asked Celestia. "Yep, it was really bad." Luna started to play the violin rather beautifully and gracefully. The song ended and Celestia was amazed. "Where did you learn to that?" "I've had a lot of spare time ever since I came back from the moon but then again, so have you." Celestia frowned. "I’m sorry." Luna look puzzled. "I’m sorry for sending you to the moon. I wish I didn't have to do that and hated every day you were away and I’m sorry for everything." Celestia shed a few tears but Luna, shed a few tears and smiled at Celestia. "That’s what I wanted to hear. You never apologised until now and I’m happy." Luna hugged Celestias leg. Celestia wiped her tears. "What do you want to do now?" "Well we could get some sugar explosions." Celestia looked puzzled. "But Luna, fireworks don't look that good in the day." Luna laughed and jumped on Celestias back. "No it's really nice Delicious cupcakes of Delicious nice-ness!" "Okay then but I need to change in to something real quick." Celestia horn glowed and she turned into a unicorn with rainbow hair and a cutie mark of a small sun. "Shall we go now?" Luna nodded and they set off. Celestia and Luna arrived at twirly's sweet shop and brought some sugar explosions. "These look nice though why are they called sugar explosions?" Luna smiled. "The make you explode with surgery energy!" Luna ate hers in one bite and fell to the floor in a fit of laughter. "Is that normal?" Luna nodded and continued to laugh. Celestia took a bite and also fell to the floor in a fit of laughter. "This feels so funny." Celestia said before picking up Luna. "Want another for the road?" asked twirly. Celestia nodded and was given another sugar explosion for later. "Thank you." Celestia levitated some bits to twirly and went off to do something else. "Luna what do you want to do now?" Luna got on Celestias back. "Can we go to the park we used to go to?" "Um... Luna that park hasn't been around for 20 years." Luna frowned. "But there's another place you might like. Luna does you like bubbles?" Luna looked puzzled. "I love bubbles but why?" Celestia picked up Luna and took her somewhere. Celestia made it to the place and Luna had fallen asleep on her back. "Luna wake up." Celestia lifted Luna with her magic which woke her up. "Where are we anyway?" Luna looked around and a shop. "I thought maybe you'd like something to play with." Luna smiled and went inside the store. The shop was filled with toy's to the point that if a child was locked inside, they would never want to come out. "Luna how long does that spell last for?" Celestia asked though Luna shrugged. "It was supposed to wear off yesterday. Oh well, could we get this one?" Luna grabbed a large teddy. "Well okay but Luna I need to get back home soon, I’m rather tired." Luna yawned. "Me as well." Celestia brought the teddy and headed back home. By the time they had gotten back, the sun had started to set and Luna had fallen asleep. Celestia took Luna to her room and tucked her into bed. "Night Luna." Celestia placed the teddy next to Luna were she grabbed the teddy and held it tightly. Celestia walked out of the room. "I suppose I should check vile to see how he's-" vile bumped into Celestia. "Sorry about that. How was the day?" vile asked, tired from the work he had to do. "I had a wonderful day, thank you for asking." Celestia gave peck on the cheek to vile. "Oh I forgot something, you have a message from twilight sparkle. It says she's visiting tomorrow." "Oh that's wonderful! I haven't seen twilight in a long time but why is she visiting?" Celestia asked but smiled. "well her friend Rainbowdash and a pony called ditzy are visiting due to winter wrap up and wanted to give there season’s greetings." vile smiled. "That’s excellent news. I need some sleep so I’ll see you tomorrow vile and thank you again for doing the work for me." vile smiled and yawned. "I got to get some sleep as well so night." vile and Celestia went to their bedrooms for sleep and peace. //-------------------------------------------------------// masks! //-------------------------------------------------------// masks! It was morning in canterlot, as Celestias sun was high in the sky warming the ponies, unicorns and Pegasus of Equestia. Gilda and Luna were already awake, spending some time together, relaxing in the sun. "Hay Gilda can I ask a little favour?" Luna was still a filly but her voice had returned to its normal self. "Yeah sure. What do you need?" Gilda picked up Luna and placed her on her back. "Well I’m going to use the spell to turn me back to normal so in other words..." Luna's horn glowed and in an instant, Gilda was carrying regular Luna on her back. "oh sweet feathers!" the sudden weight change caught Gilda off guard and made her fall over with Luna on top of her. "Sorry about that." Luna got off Gilda and lifted her back up. "Nah it’s okay and at least your back to normal now." there was a bit of a silence between the two for a bit until Gilda spoke up. "I got my Armour today Luna, you want to see it?" Luna nodded her head and set off to Gilda's room. When they got there, Gilda opened a box containing her Armour. She punched through the lid of the box and got out all her Armour. The whole set was like traditional royal guard Armour though only slightly bigger. "Do you need some help putting it on?" Luna asked seeing all the pieces. "Sure, why not. I don't get how all the guards get this on every day. There’s million different parts." "Actually only twenty seven. It’s rather easy really." Luna levitated the Armour around Gilda. "This part goes here, that there, I think that part goes here and... done!" Luna jumped for joy seeing Gilda look like a noble warrior. The Armour had the symbol for a royal guard to the princess on it, a shield covering the moon and sun. "Thanks Luna. How do you know this anyway?" Gilda was curious as to how Luna knew how to assemble Armour in such a small space of time. "Oh well I once helped the recruits if they couldn't figure out how to place it. It’s a bit pointless for me to know though, I can just use my magic and in a minute, the Armour would form around you." before Gilda could reply, a knocking on the door could be heard. Gilda opened the door to see princess Celestia... and a purple unicorn. "Hay there Celestia and... what’s your name?" Gilda asked the purple unicorn, though she seemed intimidated by Gilda's Armour. "My name is twilight sparkle. You know you look really familiar... it doesn't matter for now." Luna came out of the door and twilight bowed to Luna. "There’s no need for that twilight. I’m guessing your friends are visiting to say hi and such?" twilight nodded. After twilight stopped bowing, a blue Pegasus came along and immediately recognised Gilda. "Hay you!" the Pegasus went straight up to Gilda’s face. "Hi there dash." Gilda said in a fake pleasant voice. "Having a nice time in canterlot?" dash's face went to confusion as to how she was acting but was still angry at her. "Look Dash, I’m a changed griffon. I’ve been through a lot okay?" dash was still angry at her though. "You almost hurt my friends! I could just hurt you right now and-" "ENOUGH!" Luna yelled, sending dash back a few steps. Luna nuzzled Gilda’s neck, making twilight and rainbow dash jaws drop. "Rainbow dash that is enough! Gilda has been through a lot. She lost a wing, become a royal guard to me and Celestia and were a couple." rainbow dash was at a loss for words at this, Luna and Gilda as a couple. She had never heard of anything like that before. After a long silence, Twilight spoke up. "I’m happy for you Luna." Twilight sheepishly said. Gilda smiled. "I’m also happy for you Gilda as well. Whatever happened in the past is water under the bridge as the saying goes." Gilda hugged twilight and Luna, smiling while doing so. "Thanks for the forgiving." Gilda let go of the two. "Gilda, you said you lost your wing in an accident correct? Did Luna use spell on you to create said wing?" "Yes I did. My sister told me you used a similar spell on rarity. Maybe I could teach you how to master it?" Twilight nodded vigorously and went off with Luna to learn some magic. Dash gave a hate filled glare to Gilda. "Well I’m off to do some training. See ya later dash." before Gilda went off, Rainbowdash got in front of her. "How did you and Luna get together anyway? Someone like her could get someone a lot better." Gilda clenched her fist. "It’s none of your business dash. I love her and that's all that matters. Actually I have something to give you, hang on." Gilda went to her room and grabbed some tickets. "I thought that to put the water under the bridge, I got you some wonder bolts tickets. One for you and one for your friend." dash smiled and took the tickets. "Umm... thanks Gilda. I’ll go tell Fluttershy that-" "Fluttershy's here? Hay can you tell her I said thanks for fixing the wing from the sap." Rainbow dash’s face went to confusion. "Anyway, have fun. I’m going to go practise for a bit, see ya later dash." Gilda went off to the training grounds and Rainbowdash went to the wonder bolts. Zero was walking through the market and made it to a muffin stand. "Hello there, what would you like today?" the shop keeper asked in happy tone. "Two blue berry muffins and one grape muffin." the shop keeper frowned at this. "Sorry Zero but the last grape muffin was brought by some Pegasus five minutes ago." Zero rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Fine just give me a chocolate muffin then." a Pegasus came in and waited behind Zero. "Excuse me but do you have any grape muffins?" the shop keeper moved his in disagreement. The shop keeper passed the muffins to Zero after he paid and turned around to see a familiar face. "Oh hi there Ditzy, how's everything going for you these days?" Zero passed a muffin to ditzy and went to sit down. They sat down and started to chat about what had happened. Ditzy told Zero how she had gotten married and how her life had been wonderful. Zero told her how nothing that special had happened to him, aside from being drunk a lot of the time. "You need some direction in life Zero... hay I know! Follow me!" Ditzy grabbed zero's leg and took him somewhere. "Ditzy were the heck are we?" Zero rolled his eyes around and saw so much pink. "You’re going to meet an old friend of mine." Zero looked around and saw... a runway? "Umm Ditzy... who is your friend?" Ditzy didn't answer and instead knocked on some pony's door. "Who is there? A fan or a friend?" the voice sounded angelic to Zero's ears. "It’s me ditzy. I just came to introduce my friend to you that's all." the opened and Ditzy's friend appeared. "It’s been a while ditzy, how are things going for you?" the tall unicorn asked to Ditzy. "I've gotten married and I’m super happy now!" Ditzy said while smiling. "And how are you fleur?" "Upset that's all. My husband cheated on me so we broke up... now I have no home." Ditzy had an idea. "Well my friend zero can help with that. Fleur, this is Zero. He’s a good friend of mine who needs some direction in life." Fleur's face went to confusion. "What are you saying?" "Well he could look after you and maybe he could find some direction in life as well." Ditzy picked Zero up and put him in front of Fleur. "Well I’ll leave you two alone so you can get to know each other, I’m going to go home now, see you two later." Zero and Fleur were silent for a while until Zero spoke up. "So... should you get your stuff? Or do you need some help?" Fleur nodded and went to gather some of her things. A few minutes later, she had brought with her all her clothes and personal belongings. "Need any help carrying that?" Zero asked, trying to be nice to the lady. "If it's no problem dear." Zero smiled and picked up the rest of the bags with ease and set off to Zero's house. A while of walking later... "Well here it is, home sweet home." Zero pointed to the medium sized house near the park. "There’s enough room for you so don't worry. I’ll show you inside." Zero said as he opened the door. "Okay my room is upstairs and there's a shower upstairs as well. There’s kitchen down the hall and living room right there, just to the left of you, and I’ll sort out my bed in a minute." Fleur had a puzzled look. "Your bed?" Zero rolled his eyes. "You’re much bigger than me so I’ll set up the guest bed for me and you can have my bed. If you don't like it then-" Fleur hugged Zero tightly. "Thank you Zero." Zero was surprised. "I’ll... I’ll go set it up now, you just sort yourself out, maybe take a nap. You seem tired." fleur yawned and went up to sleep. Zero made the bed and went to sleep as well. Back with Gilda... Gilda met up with Luna who was still teaching twilight some magic. "Hay there Luna." Gilda nuzzled Luna’s neck, which sent Luna into a blush. "Umm... hay there Gilda. How was today?" Gilda smiled. "I think I fixed things up with dash. So what's happening here?" "Luna is teaching me transmorphic spells... unless you two would like a minute alone?" Luna and Gilda smiled. "Well maybe later tonight maybe but not now." Gilda saying this made Luna blush heavily. "Anyway, it's nearing the end of the day so I’m heading to the hotel, I’ll see you tomorrow Luna." twilight bowed to Luna before teleporting off to the hotel. later... It had become night time, Luna had raised the moon high into the sky. All the stars were out and were brighter than usual. "The stars are wonderful tonight." Gilda had sneaked up behind Luna. "I suppose they are." Luna looked into Gilda's eyes and felt so happy and warm that Celestia's sun would be an ice cube in comparison. "Gilda... tonight, could we..." Gilda planted her beck on Luna’s muzzle. "Are you sure Luna?" Luna nodded meekly and went to Gilda’s room. okay people, there will be two chapters, one with clop and one without next. Why am I doing this? I can write small chapters about the romance in case if I can't make a proper chapter for the story. That and this romance will probably rather short lived. These chapters are a lot shorter than the usual so don't kill me please. "Okay let's see: sandwiches, some salad, some drink. Yep I’m all set. Maybe I should bring some muffins as well? What did my cousin tell me once? "A muffin a day keeps the frowns away little cousin, aw you’re so small!" okay... I’m set." Vile was talking to himself, preparing a picnic for him and Celestia, placing some muffins into the basket as advice from his cousin. On the way out he came across Celestia smiling at him. "Hello vile. I came to tell you that we have to have our picnic earlier than expected due to a meeting later." vile smiled. "Well I have everything ready so we could head off now." Celestia wrapped vile in her wing and teleported her and vile to a space outside of canterlot. Vile fell over from being slightly dizzy from the teleporting but looked around and saw a most beautiful sight. A field of sunflowers as far as the eye could see next to a lake reflecting the suns rays. "A few centuries ago, I and my father made this field and lake over there. I enjoyed the time spent with him, even in his last moments." Celestia sighed. "He was a good king, as far as I know from the books I've read." Celestia smiled at vile. The picnic was set up and they started to eat some daisy sandwiches and some muffins vile had put in. "This is nice vile. I haven't had any time to relax for a while and no time to spend with my friends." Celestia sighed again. "Well you’re my friend Celestia and I want to make sure you’re happy." Celestia smiled and held vile close. "You really are too kind. I’m glad I've met a friend like you." vile looked up and saw Celestia was smiling at him. After a while all the food was eaten and Celestia and vile decided to relax in front of the sun. "This is nice." said vile. "I would love to have a place out here one day. A bit of a trip to canterlot but it would be worth it." "Same here. I really don't like having such a big home and yet the only people that live there are me and my sister. " Celestia smiled at vile and moved closer to him. "Vile, didn't you say you had an apartment in canterlot?" "Yeah. Why do you ask?" vile gave a curious look to Celestia, "Well there are plenty of spare rooms so you could stay there if you wanted to." Vile hugged Celestia tightly. "Thank you so much!" Celestia hugged back. "This feels... nice." she thought. "Do you mind if I get my stuff first?" asked vile. "Of course, where’s the address? I’ll just teleport us there." "Thank you. The flaring dragon is where I stay." Celestia shone her horn and vile and Celestia teleported there. The building was damaged and rather dirty, with broken windows and holes in the ceiling. "Celestia are you okay with being in public? What if you get swarmed by the public?" asked a worried. "Don’t worry. I have a trick or two." Celestia horn glowed and she changed her self into young pony, about viles age. "What do you think?" asked Celestia. Vile just looked at the beauty of this form. "It looks nice." vile said nervously. "I’ll get my stuff." vile ran upstairs and gathered a book and a teddy bear. "Where’s everything else?" vile sighed. "This is everything I own." Celestia looked shocked. "It’s okay. I’m just unlucky that's all." vile smiled and Celestia teleported themselves back to the castle. "This is your room here; just down the hall is my room. Make yourself at home and if you need anything, just ask." "Thank you Cele. I don't know how I will repay you." Celestia held vile close with her wing. "Just stay by me if I get in trouble, that's all I ask."
