We struggle to have meaning, in this world which we know. We try, yet we wonder where we all should go. Hidden in the questions that which we cannot find, the answers are all hidden deep inside our minds. Hidden in our soul is the life we try to hide, but in time it will find a way back to life. All of its secrets are hidden beneath your skin. So before they ruin the life you have made, release them once again. Hidden in our lives are stories of the things we didn't want them to know, left untold. But once you tell somebody, and make your feelings known, the struggle will be over, and you'll finally be home.
The sun burned like a perfect circle of melted butter in its blue sky dish. The breeze that whistled through the leaves blew through a house that was built in the Everfree Forest. A blue sparrow flew anxiously above the tops of the tree's, watching below. The sun beat down and light pooled peacefully on the flat, worn ground.
As his eyes stared at the stallion seated and strapped to the chair across from him in the basement of his home, Star Stream licked his lips. He and the stallion faced each other, just a few feet apart. Star Stream grabbed the bucket of water beside him and splashed it onto the stallion, bringing him back to consciousness.
“Wha-what...?" The stallion muttered, his eyes opening to search the room trying he was in. It was dark, and he couldn't figure out where he was. "Where am I?”
Star Stream stepped out of the shadows, flicking on the light. The stallion squinted, before looking up. In front of him was his captor, a brown Pegasus with a black mane. His cutie mark was a hammer. Star Stream was a construction worker, best known for his part in building the ever-popular Sugar Cube Corner. He now spent more time at home, with his family. Star Stream smirked. “It doesn't matter where you are," He replied, as he revealed a knife grasped in his hoof. "It just matters what I'm going to do.”
Fear struck the stallion as he stared at the weapon grasped in his captors' hoof. His heart pounded rapidly against his chest, adrenalin surging through his veins. “Plea-Please don't-"
“SHUT UP!" Star Stream shouted, suddenly. "No... No talking. Only I talk here.” He stepped a little closer to the stallion, swinging the knife grasped in his hoof. The stallion fidgeted as he tried to escape from the chair, the his captor coming ever closer. “Don't even try to escape." Star Stream said, slowly walking towards him, leaning in close to smell the stallion's mane. He smelt the fresh scent of blueberry, so deliciously tempting. His heart pounded in his chest, his stomach letting out a loud growl. "You would make one delicious dinner, you know." He said, licking his lips.
“Wait-Wha-" The stallion was interrupted with a slap from Star Stream.
“I didn't say talk, did I?" He chuckled, gently brushing the knife against the stallion's face. A smug grin appeared on his face, as he narrowed his eyes at the stallion in front of him. “What's your name?" He asked, quietly. The stallion looked at him for a second, seeming unsure. Star Stream rolled his eyes. "Yes, you can talk."
“P-P-Paint B-Brush." The stallion stuttered.
“Funny, I call my son something similar to that." Star stream said, chuckling. "I don't know why, but I thought it would be cute if I called him something similar to his mother special talent." He stopped for a moment, mulling it over. Then he turned back to Pint Brush with a smirk. "Any who, enough talking. I'm hungry and my wife is waiting upstairs for me to bring you up for dinner. She's gong to bake you. But I'm sure you understand why I'm doing this, you ARE family stallion, right?” He said, mockingly, with a loud laugh.
“HELP! PLEASE, SOMEPONY HELP ME!" Paint Brush screamed, finally finding his voice. But nopony was around to hear.
Star Stream shrugged off the stallions screams, and held the knife up.Quickly, he brought it down with a mighty force. The shining metal sliced through Paint Brushes' skin with ease and dug straight into his heart. Instantly, he cried out in pain as he felt every inch of the blade inside of him. A searing burn flared up his chest, consuming him in an agony that nearly made his mind go blank. Star Stream jerked the knife in a bit further, before yanking it out. He watched blood well from the wound for a moment, letting the stallion catch his breath and his mind clear a tiny bit. Then he suddenly brought it back down, starting the process anew. The captured stallion's vision blurred as tears lined his eyes, running down his cheeks, the fur already slick with sweat. He felt the cold, hard concrete underneath him before the actual collision when he fell over in a heap, a large splash sounding as he landed in a puddle of his own blood.
Star Stream wiped the sweat off of his eye ridge. “Whoa!" He sighed. "That was...Exciting."
Then he dragged the body upstairs for his wife to cook.
Once he got upstairs, body in tow, his wife Silver Stream greeted him. She was a unicorn, her coat silver and her mane a pale grey. Her cutie mark was a paintbrush, a light silver trail pulled behind it. “Hey, honey? Before we start dinner, I want to talk to you about something important.” She said, walking into the living room. She sat on the couch, before motioning for Star Stream to join her.
Curiously, he trotted after her. He sat down next to her, blood dripping from his coat onto the couch. "He smiled at his wife, nodding for her to go on. "Sure, what do you want to talk about?"
Silver stream though about what she was going to say for a moment, before steeling herself. “I've been thinking, for a long time now, and I want to adopt a filly. We've tried so many times to have a filly on our own, but we've never succeeded. I love our son but I'd really like a little filly, too. So, I was thinking, maybe we could go to the Ponyville orphanage tomorrow, and pick one out.” She confessed, looking hopefully at her husband. Star Stream looked down for a moment, unsure. Star Stream began giving him the puppy dog eyes, hoping she could make him say yes. He looked at her a moment, then smiled.
“Alright, we can go tomorrow.” He said. Silver Stream shouted with joy and gave him a hug. His stomach let out a large growl. "Think you could hurry up with dinner? I'm starving." He jokingly said, laughing.
At the Ponyville orphanage, a young filly named Scootaloo was reading the latest Daring Do book. Her eyes scanned every word in the book, loving the action packed thriller. “Wow, I wish I was like Daring do” She said wistfully, imaging how life would be if she were like the adventurer.
When she finished the chapter, she tossed the book down and jumped out of bed. She started running and jumping around, acting like she were being chased by cheetahs, like Daring Do in the book on page one hundred and one. “SCOOTALOO, IT'S BED TIME GO TO BED!” A mare angrily shouted from outside her room.
Scootaloo angrily stomped a hoof, glaring at the door. She stuck her tongue out at it, before stomping to her bed. She climbed under her covers and glared at the darkness. "I hate this place...I wish somepony would just come and adopt me..." She murmured, as she slowly drifted off into sleep. She dreamt of happy times, with a loving mother and father, and a playful older brother who would protect her. Her life would change soon, but not as she dreamed it would.
