The Pranksters
Pranked
Load Full StoryShe can't decide.
Sweat rolls down her face as her eyes nervously glance back and forth. What to choose, what to choose?!
There Pinkie Pie stood, anxiously staring at the choices set in front of her. Her mind filled with a restless flow of choices, drifting through her brain, like the winds before a tornado. The choice! What would it be?
What if she made the wrong choice? Then her entire day would be diminished of fun! "Hmm, should I have the Double Fudge Brownies with Caramel or the Sweet Cocoa-Double-Dipped Cookies? OH NO! I CAN'T DECIDE! Help, Applejack, what should I get!?!" Pinkie Pie frantically yelled, in front of a long, inpatient line inside Sugar Cube Corner.
"Ah reckon, whatever you do get, you get a' fast. You're holding up ah line!" Applejack shouted from behind.
"Yeah, Applejack's right! We want food too, you know!" Rainbow Dash agreed, at the end of the line.
Pinkie Pie giggled, "Am I holding up the line? Oh well, I may as well just get both!" Pinkie Pie dropped three bits into the bin as Mrs. Cupcake rolled her eyes and brought Pinkie the pastries.
"Now Pinkie Pie dear, just because it's your day off doesn't mean you can ruin our business!" said Mrs. Cupcake.
"Oh of course not, Mrs. Cupcake! I just want to make sure everypony knows what they want before they get to the front of the line!" Pinkie Pie says with a happy giggle.
Applejack pushed through Pinkie Pie to get to the front of the line. "Now that that's ah taken care of, My family needs some more sugar for some ah sweet apple pies, please!"
"Oh of course, Applejack." Mrs. Cupcake said. She trotted into the storage room and came back quite quickly with a sack of sugar. "That will be five bits, dear."
Applejack placed the change in the bin and joined her other friends at the table. Pinkie Pie also bounced back to where Twilight and Rarity were sitting.
Twilight began to say, "So now that we're done order-"
"HEY! DONT FORGET ABOUT ME!" shouted Rainbow Dash from the back of the stretched line.
"Oh sorry, Rainbow," Twilight shouted back, "Anyways, Pinkie Pie, we need your help."
"OOOOO! Help? I LOVE help!" Pinkie Pie said enthusiastically.
"Shhhh," whispered Rarity, "We can't let Rainbow hear!"
"Ohh kaaay," whispered Pinkie.
"So we ah all know it's Rainbow's birthday next week, right?" asked Applejack, to whom she was replied with nodding heads. "So ah though, maybe we could pull a prank on her since she's ah so in to pranking us."
"But not just any ordinary prank, oh heavens no!" Rarity continued.
"We need the BEST prank ever!" Pinkie Pie said loudly.
"Shhh!" whispered the other three in unison.
"Oh, right.. sorry," said Pinkie Pie with a light chuckle.
"There's Rainbow now! We'll discuss this later." urgently said Twilight.
Rainbow happily trotted towards the table holding a Oats and Chocolate Chip Croissant in her mouth. "Hey guys! I finally got some food! So watcha talking about?" announced Rainbow Dash, shaking the crumbs off her wings.
"Ooh, nothing really," said Twilight.
"Well ok. I was thinking that later today we could go cloud busting!" Rainbow Dash said excitedly.
"Rainbow, you're the only one here with wings," Rarity reminded.
"Yea, I, uh, knew that.. heh," Rainbow Dash said.
Pinkie Pie suddenly gasped. A gasp almost as big as when she first saw Twilight! "OH NO! I FORGOT! I was gonna go and meet Fluttershy and have a critter picnic!"
"Ooo, that sounds divine. Do you suppose Fluttershy would mind if I came along, too?" Rarity asked.
"The more ponies, the funner!' Pinkie Pie said, completely disregarding her grammar.
Pinkie Pie and Rarity left the bakery with an excited burst. However, Applejack, Twilight, and Rainbow Dash remained, showing no interest in the picnic.
"Well, I have to go and study for Princess Celestia's semi- final exams." said Twilight as she finished her last sip of her milkshake.
'And ah gotta go help Big Mac with the harvest. Sorry Rainbow," Applejack said, too.
"Nah, it's fine, you guys go have fun. I think I'm gonna have another croissant," said Rainbow Dash, understandably.
The two ponies also left.
Rainbow knew something was up. But what? They were obviously planning something behind her back. She was almost fully convinced they were up to something when she reminded herself of the time Pinkie Pie went senile from doubt. But she and her friends actually were planning something for Pinkie back then. So what if they're planning something for Rainbow. Rainbow, looking back and forth, cautiously flew up to her cloud home, and closed her door very quietly. She turned around and..
"Oh, hi Tank!" said Rainbow Dash as she was greeted by her flying pet turtle. "Wanna go for a fly?" she asked, pushing aside her earlier doubts towards her friend's starnge excuses. Rainbow didn't want to learn the same lesson twice.
Tank replied by slowly opening his mouth and blinking twice.
"Then alright, let's go!" said Rainbow Dash.
The two spent the entire afternoon spiraling through the clouds and speeding through the skies. Rainbow Dash's adrenaline was high and her heart was pumping as she dashed at the speed of light. She flew through town, grinning when she saw a little orange filly admiring her from the schoolyard. She dived down one hundred feet and quickly stopped, turned back, and sped through Ponyville. She dashed past Sugar Cube Corner and Carousal Boutique, where she saw a glimpse of what looked like pink, orange, and purple ponies.
No. It couldn't be. Rainbow Dash refused to doubt her friend's loyalty to their most loyal of ponies. Rainbow would never stop firmly believing that her friends would never cause her harm or doubt her friendship. She continued dashing through the skies with Tank by her side, performing and amazing 360 and spinning through a tough group of clouds. Not even those dense clouds could slow Rainbow down. She was meant for speed. She finished her daily fly by with a dash of style, circling her cloud home ten times before stopping.
Rainbow sat down on her couch with heavy breaths. Nothing like a good daily exercise. Tank flew in and nibbled at his turtle chow under the kitchen counter.
However hard Rainbow tried to keep from doubting her friends, worries flew through her head. She knew something was up, she just did! Sitting up, Rainbow tried to focus. What were they doing? What is even going on? Rainbow remembered that her birthday was next week... but that wouldn't describe why her friends were being so "secretive". With a confused complexion, Rainbow Dash shrugged, and decided to just stop worrying about it. She laid down and took a nap.
--
"You ready, Pinkie?" whispered Rarity, trying to hide a giggle as they stood beneath Rainbow's cloud home.
"Ready as spaghetti!" Pinkie Pie whispered happily.
"Then let's get underway with plan "Rotten Applesauce!" said Twilight. Twilight concentrated fiercely, trying to use her magic to grant Pinkie wings. Her thoughts centered on Pinkie Pie with a fresh pair of wings and her horn started glowing. Sweat rolled down the sides of her face, when... POP!
Pinkie had wings.
"So we went over the ah plan, right?" asked Applejack, behind a large cart of apple pies.
"Yeppers peppers!" said Pinkie Pie.
"Ok, I think we're ready." said Twilight, "Time to prank some Dash!"
--
Rainbow Dash woke up suddenly to the scent of apples. She opened her eyes slowly to find her entire bed room covered in pie! "W-what the..." Rainbow questioned, then, opening her eyes wider, she concluded, "I must be dreaming!" Rainbow dashed out of bed, enticed by the delicious "fantasy'' before her. A room full of pie? All for her? Awesome!
Rainbow licked the first pie she found. It was sweet and appetizing, with every breath she took, she was in Wonderland. After eating about 3 of the hundreds of pies dumped in her room, her stomach started to grumble. An intense pain erupted from her insides, and the awful taste of throw up and sweat filled her mouth. What was happening? What was in that pie? Suddenly, out came the vomit, erupting from her insides. And then? A spicy tang filled her, and she franticly jumped about, looking for water. What kind of pepper could do that? Her mouth was on fire, and she screamed at the top of her lungs for water. Flying into her kitchen, she ran her mouth under the sink, and was instantly relieved.
"Phew..." Rainbow Dash sighed. "This MUST HAVE been a dream," she thought.
Oh, How wrong she was.
She stepped back into her room, to find a giant mess of puke and pie. She took one of the pies and opened it with her hooves... to find Poison Joke! "What the hay!?"
Rainbow knew that Poison Joke would give you a funny flaw if you got a rash from it... but she didn't know that eating it would result with a instant need to throw up and end with a violent rage of spice. Now who would possibly pull a prank like this on Rainbow?
Rainbow smirked with realization. Narrowing her eyes, she said, "Pinkie Pie, of course she would. She never knows when to stop..."
Rainbow flew out the window, to find her friends rolling over in laughter on the ground. Pinkie Pie chuckled, "Did you see that? She even screamed for water!" Everyone else laughed even harder, not daring to realize Rainbow Dash was right there.
"And then, and then, she jumped right'a outta that dang bed, and flew'd straight to that there sink!" Applejack chortled.
"Yeah, veerrry funny!" Rainbow shouted with anger.
They all screamed in shock. How long has she been standing there?
Twilight looked at Rainbow, "Sorry Rainbow, but this is just TOO funny!"
"You do know you just basically poisoned me, right!?" Rainbow assumed with anger.
"Oh silly Rainbow, Poison Joke only wants a laugh, remember!?" Pinkie Pie joyfully said, before falling over her hooves in laughter.
"Yes dear, and it was quite funny," Rarity agreed.
Rainbow was not amused. "This isn't over yet!" she yelled.
How right she was.
