Chapter one: Finding pinkie
Everypony had changed over the years. Twilight became royalty, RD got her wish and got accepted into the wonderbolts, AJ’s apple business skyrocketed and she was now one of the richest ponies in Equestria, Rarity’s Dresses became famous and she was now Celestia’s private tailor and dressmaker. Fluttershy finally tamed the animals in the canterlot gardens.
The only pony who didn't change was pinkie pie, Then again, This is pinkie pie we are talking about.
But she is not the focus here, The focus is what happens now.....
Fluttershy awoke to the sound of fanfare. She looks at her clock and see’s that its only 8:45 am. “Who would be playing trumpets this early in the morning?” she groaned as she slowly picked herself up and looked out the window. Outside, flying proudly in the air, Was Twilights mark on a light purple flag. “What's Twilight doing in ponyville?” Her mind had still not fully processed the fact that her best friend that she had not seen in 2 years had just left her lush royal home to pay a visit to an everyday, run of the mill, town. Then, after a few moments of thinking, she finally realized, gasped, brushed her hair, and ran outside.
Running down the dirt road to the town square, She saw that all the residents of ponyville had gathered around the carriage. They were both excited, and shocked that a royal had just dropped in unexpectedly.
As she neared the square, she was abruptly stopped by two guard holding short swords. “Halt, Why are you running suspiciously towards the princes?”
“well, um...you see, i-i” Fluttershy started to stammer, but she was cut off by the sound of a calm, welcoming, yet powerful voice
“Sword, Shield, it is quite alright, please move aside.” She spoke so soft it was like silk. running across her skin. As the two guards stepped to the side, they revealed a tall purple pony with a golden crown upon her head, her dress was a light purple with yellow trims, and a red ribbon running across the back. Her wings neatly brushed and folded against her side, Her poster was impeccable. There was only one pony in the world this world that was this beautiful. It was twilight.
“Twilight!” Fluttershy ran over and hugged her old friend. “Wow you grew!” When twilight and fluttershy last saw each other, Fluttershy and twilight were relatively the same height, now fluttershy’s head only reached the mid section of twilights neck.
“ Its good to see you to fluttershy” Twilight's voice was a bit deeper now, but still sweet.
“What brings you back to ponyville twilight?”
“Well you of all ponies should know, Dont tell me you forgot your birthday!”
“Dear celestia i did forget!” The last thought that that hadn't caught up to fluttershy that morning, finally arrived in her mind. She had been so busy the past few day’s, and rushing out the door only but a minute or two ago had knocked that thought right of the #1 spot on her mental to-do list.
“Well this is going to be a birthday you will soon forget!” Twilight added a somewhat mischievous smile to the end of her sentence.
“Before we leave for your party, lets go get the others, shall we?”
Twilight nodded to the guards and turned around, Fluttershy to her right, and one guard on the left and right.
As twilight and fluttershy neared Sugar Cube Corner, they could tell something was not right. The store appeared to be, closed. “Sword, go up to the shop and see if everything is fine, i don't like how quiet it is.” The guard obeyed and walked to the front door. He tried to open the door, but it was not only locked, but from the other side of the glass door, Twilight could see it was chained. “very odd indeed...” Twilight started to mumble to herself about how this this was.
“Twilight, no one has seen pinkie in a year, i’m a bit worried. She locked herself in there and hasn’t come out since, i fear she might not be able to.”
Twilight saw the concern on fluttershy’s face and decided she had to act. “Shield, give me your sword.” The guard handed Twilight his sword without question, but his face showed some curiosity. Twilight stood in front of the door, and let loose a small flurry of bolts from her horn, all of witch, bounced harmlessly of the glass, and probably hit some pony or ruined there day. Twilight looked at the door, and then at the sword in here hoof. “She magic-proofed the door.” Twilight looked discouraged. “And very well it seems.” She raised her sword and brought it down across the glass. The sword shattered and put little more than a chip in the glass. “She also reinforced the glass to the point where it is near indestructible” Twilight now smiled and started studying the door. She mumbled to herself until... “AH HAH!” Twilight smiled and clapped her hooves. She motioned for the other guard to give her his sword. Twilight levitated it in front of her, closed her eyes, breathed, and re opened her eyes. She infused the sword with some sort of magic that made it glow. She raised the sword above her head, and brought the sword down upon the hinges. The sword sliced through them like warm butter, and implanted itself hilt deep into the hard dirt road.
Both guards and Fluttershy stood wide eyed as Twilight levitated it back in front of her, part of the road was still attached to the sword. She gave the sword back to the guard. “This sword can now only be broken by somepony of equal or greater magical strength than me.” Twilight smiled a bit. “Good luck finding some pony like that.”
Fluttershy was the first one to react “Well...shall we go inside?” Fluttershy stepped over the glass door and poked her head inside. The was cold and stale, and besides the breeze blowing in from outside, stagnant. The lights were off and a thick layer of dust covered everything.
“I don't see how anypony could survive in this condition...” Twilight let loose a big sigh. She flipped on the lights, But with all the dust on the bulbs, They cast a faint glow on everything, only adding on to the already ominous situation.
“Everypony stop moving and shh!!!” Twilight whispered, she turned so that her right side was to the wall. Then all of a sudden, Twilights ear twitched. “There!” She walked over to the wall. Twilight faced the wall and saw there was a crack in it. “There is a draft coming from this crack in the wall.” Twilight pulled The guards sword out with her horn. The light from the swords magic cast a lurid glow throughout the room. Twilight studied the wall and after a few moments, stuck the sword through the crack. Twilight let go and used her magic to hold it in place. She paused for a moment, and then forced the sword down through the wall, leaving a large gash in the wall. A burst of warmer air washed over the ponies, And a sliver of bright white could be seen coming from the other side of the wall.
“What do you think pinkies been up to, Twilight?” Fluttershy stepped in place nervously a bit before retreating, noticing that Twilight was raising her sword again.
“Lets find out shall we?” Twilight had a wide grin on her face. She brought down the sword diagonally upon the wall, Then Twilight Slashed Diagonally the other way, Making a star on the wall. Then, with one well placed kick, Twilight busted a hole in the wall. A surge of warm air quickly took over the room, sending dust flying into the air. When the dust settled again, The wall that had once been there, was now a staircase leading to what looked like a hallway. Every 10 feet or so was a row of fluorescent bulbs under a hard plastic cover. The faint sound of metal hitting metal could be heard from far down in the corridor below.
“D-do you think she’s down there?” Fluttershy was now trotting in place nervously.
“Well lets go find out!” Twilights wide smile was now unhideable now as she charged down the stairs.
“Something is really different about Twilight.” Fluttershy thought to herself before going after Twilight.
