                                                          Chapter 2: Arrival and first love.....

Bolt slowly regained consciousness as he opened his eyes. His head felt like it had been beaten in with a hammer and he also felt a bit dizzy. The white Shepard got up slowly as he looked around. Everything seemed..... different. The colors of Bolt's surroundings were brighter, and looked straight out of a cartoon. Bolt's ear flicked as he suddenly heard a familiar voice.

"Bolt, next time I say don't do something, DON'T DO....." Mittens stopped as she stared at Bolt awkwardly, "Bolt?! You look....different...."

"I could say the same thing....." Bolt replied.

Mittens looked around, "Where's Rhino?"

"THAT WAS AWESOME!!! AGAIN!!" Rhino suddenly shouted nearly making Mittens jump.

"Rhino, you look different too...." Bolt commented. The trio stared at one another, then looked at themselves. They seemed to be turned into a cartoony version of what they were.

"Tell me this is some kind of joke...." Mittens said, "Bolt, where do.....Bolt?...." Bolt wasn't paying attention to Mittens as Mittens saw him staring off into space at something.

Bolt froze in awe as his eyes were gazing on the most beautiful canine he'd ever seen. The dog was brown in color with a mix of white, a terrier she looked like. She was herding cattle alongside what looked like.....a Pony?

Mittens looked over and her eyes lowered with a smile, "Bolty.....I think it's time I taught ya about love....."

Bolt looked at Mittens, snapping him out of his trance, "Love?" Bolt asked. Bolt still had a lot to learn about being normal.

"Yeah...." Mittens replied, "Y'see Bolt, when a dog loves another dog, it's called a mate. A mate is kinda like....a wife or a husband, but then again..... it's kinda complicated."

"A....mate, you mean like....."

"Yep!"

"But....I....I've never considered having a mate before, the only person I love is Penny....." Bolt said, "I mean....what if she doesn't talk to me? I'm a complete stranger! I don't even know what to do or....or what to say!!"

"Just..... be yourself," Mittens replied smiling, "Keep it cool....."

"But.... are you sure it will work?.....I'm....I'm kinda....." Bolt began to blush.

"Nervous?" Mittens chuckled, "Just go on! Go talk to her..... relax kid, you'll be fine!"

"GO GET HER SUPERDOG!!!" Rhino cheered.

Bolt smiled at his two friends. He turned and took a deep breath. He walked over to the dog, he stopped mid-way looking back at Mittens. Mittens gestured with her paw to tell him to "go on". Rhino gave him a grin with a thumbs up.  Bolt turned back as he suddenly bumped into the other dog.

"Oh umm.... sorry....." The two said simultaneously. They both laughed and the two then stared into each other's eyes.

"Hi...." Bolt said calmly with a smile.

"Hello...." The other dog replied smiling. She looked at Bolt curiously, "Are you new here? I've never seen any other dogs around Sweet Apple Arces before...."

"Uhh....yeah, I'm pretty new," Bolt chuckled nervously, "I'm....Bolt, what's your name?"

"Winona....." The dog answered, "Well then Bolt, since you're new, allow me to be the first to welcome you to Sweet Apple Arces."

"Thanks..... I'm here with my friends actually....." Bolt said.

"Oh? You have friends?" Winona wagged her tail, "That's great!!" She looked over, "Is that them over there?" She saw Mittens and Rhino.

"Yeah....that's them," Bolt said, "The cat is Mittens, the hamster is Rhino."

"Rhino....the Hamster?" Winona raised an eyebrow.

"He....gets that alot," Bolt chuckled.

"Winona come on girl," Came the voice of Applejack. Applejack noticed the new dog with Winona and smiled, "Come on now.... y'all can play with yer new friends later...."

"I better get going.... I need to bring in the next batch of cattle," Winona ran off and stopped, looking back at Bolt, "It was nice meeting you....Bolt."

Bolt smiled as he saw Winona join up with her.....Pony? This world was strange as Bolt didn't see any humans in sight. "This place must have ponies as it's dominant species....." Bolt thought. He went back over to Mittens and Rhino.

"See Bolt? Was that so hard?...." Mittens smiled.

"No....I guess not...." Bolt replied.

"Ohhhh....Bolt has a girlfriend!" Rhino teased.

"Rhino....stop it!" Bolt laughed.

Mittens smiled, "Come on, let's check this place out! While we're at it, I got some stuff to teach ya, lover dog!"
