Rain pounded the ground in a heavy and rapid succession, and the trees blew sideways in the gusting wind. Although the skies were covered in clouds, it was clear that Luna's precious night was present. Safely inside her Library, protected from the cold freezing storm, the purple Alicorn had just finished writing the last of her notes for the night. "This is perfect!" She smiled upon finishing, "Just the last requirement I need for this experimental study." Twilight Sparkle never really liked storms, as they had caused a distraction in her work, but none-the-less, she continued onward, flipping through various pages of the books laid out on her desk in front of her, calculating the seemingly challenging mathematics in her notes, and solving a few of her own little algorithms. A crack of thunder sounded and the wind blew the rain hard against Twilight's nearby window followed by a slight flash of lightning. Twilight gave off a groan, "Couldn't the Pegasi schedule a different day for this kind of weather?! I simply can't think straight with all this noise!" Twilight looked over at her clock which read "12:30 AM." Giving a yawn, Twilight decided to turn in for the night as the storm was too much for her and she was feeling exhausted. She blew out the glowing candle that had illuminated the room and headed upstairs to her bedroom. "AGHHH!! NO! STUPID MAGIC BOX! I WANNA SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!" Rhino the hamster shouted as he shook his small fists in the air as the TV had once again gone to static. "Rhino relax...... it's just a slight power outage, this storm's not stopping any time soon with you shouting at the TV!" Mittens replied in an annoyed tone. She began licking her paw as she then looked over and caught sight of a familiar white Shepard. She gave Bolt a smile, "Hey Wags! How's it goin'?" Bolt came into the room, "It's going good, I was just seeing how you and Rhino are holding up...." "CURSE YOU EVIL MAGIC BOX!! I SHALL FOIL YOUR PLANS AND...." Rhino was suddenly cut off by Mittens. "Put a sock in it rodent, your singing has driven me nuts already today!" "Don't you tempt me Cat! I know you're working for the Green Eyed Man!" Rhino countered. Mittens simply rolled her eyes. "Take it easy Rhino....." Bolt said, jumping onto the couch next to the two, "The storm will die down....." He looked out the window, "Soon I hope...." "Let's hope it does," Mittens replied, "I can't take anymore of Rhino's constant shouting!" Mittens curled up on the couch. Bolt allowed himself a snicker as Mittens looked at him with a heated glare, "Can it, Dog!" The cat then went to sleep. It had been a few hours as the trio had watched the remainder of Bolt's old TV show when the TV came back on. Mittens gave a stretch, "Welp, dunno about you guys, but I'm hitting the sack, night Bolty, night...... hamster!" Rhino gave a small growl. Bolt chuckled, "Don't worry Rhino, one of these days, Mittens will warm up to you....just give her some time." Rhino looked at Bolt questioningly, "Are you saying.....THAT I SIDE WITH THE ENEMY?!" He glared darkly, "Never!!" He whispered. Rhino rolled off the couch in his ball as he left the room. Bolt shook his head, "That hamster will never change." He smiled. Bolt headed upstairs to the hallway as he entered Penny's room where he saw the girl fast asleep. Bolt jumped up onto the bed as he made a circle once and curled up on the edge of the bed. Bolt's ears perked as he suddenly heard a familiar voice, "I swear....that hamster makes me want to kill myself sometimes, how can you stand it?!" Bolt looked over at Mittens, "I tolerate Rhino well....because, he's Rhino, that's who he is." He saw the cat lower her eyes. "That's not a good enough reason Bolt!" "Then what do you want me to do? Ignore him?" "It'd be nice......" "Mittens," Bolt began, "Give Rhino some credit. He's our friend...... sure he may be a tad annoying......" "A tad?" Mittens raised an eyebrow. Bolt sighed, "Alright, very annoying, but he's still our friend and we owe him for helping us on our journey in the past." Mittens gave in, "Yeah, guess you're right..... I sometimes love that little hairball, when he isn't bein' a pain in the......" "What's that?!" Bolt said suddenly. Mittens looked at Bolt with a confused expression, "What?" Bolt jumped down from the bed and looked over out the window at a glowing object below. Bolt stared for a bit as he then suddenly began to run out of the room. "Whoa! Where are you going?!" Mittens said suddenly. "To check it out! Come on!" Bolt replied. "BOLT! WAIT! ,GET BA....." It was too late, Bolt was already gone. Mittens lowered her eyes with a heavy and annoyed sigh, "The things I do for stupid friends!" She followed the canine out with Rhino alongside. The freezing rain pounded against Bolt's snow white fur as he had made it outside. He fought against the gusting burst of wind as he struggled to get a glimpse of the glowing object that had appeared on the front lawn. Mittens was close behind along with Rhino who was rolling desperately in his ball. "BOLT! WHATEVER IT IS YOU'RE THINKING OF DOING! DON'T DO IT!!" Mittens shouted over the howling storm. Bolt looked back, "I HAVE TO SEE WHAT IT IS!! IT COULD BE SOMETHING IMPORTANT!!" "YOU'RE CRAZY!!!" Came Mittens' reply. She was already annoyed that Rhino had been a pain all day earlier that day and now she was dealing with the stubborn dog in front of her that was Bolt. Mittens realized that Bolt still had a lot to learn. Suddenly a sudden surge of lightning hit the roof of the house as Mittens looked up in shock to see a large chunk of the roof fall onto the three of them, "LOOK OUT!!" Mittens shouted as she dove and ran into Bolt, with Rhino following suit. The object seemed to be a strange rock that glowed various colors of the rainbow. The magical rock suddenly had attracted a lightning strike as it zapped the three friends and they had then vanished. //-------------------------------------------------------// Arrival and first love.... //-------------------------------------------------------// Arrival and first love....                                                                        BOLT: EQUESTRIA BOUND                                                           Chapter 2: Arrival and first love..... Bolt slowly regained consciousness as he opened his eyes. His head felt like it had been beaten in with a hammer and he also felt a bit dizzy. The white Shepard got up slowly as he looked around. Everything seemed..... different. The colors of Bolt's surroundings were brighter, and looked straight out of a cartoon. Bolt's ear flicked as he suddenly heard a familiar voice. "Bolt, next time I say don't do something, DON'T DO....." Mittens stopped as she stared at Bolt awkwardly, "Bolt?! You look....different...." "I could say the same thing....." Bolt replied. Mittens looked around, "Where's Rhino?" "THAT WAS AWESOME!!! AGAIN!!" Rhino suddenly shouted nearly making Mittens jump. "Rhino, you look different too...." Bolt commented. The trio stared at one another, then looked at themselves. They seemed to be turned into a cartoony version of what they were. "Tell me this is some kind of joke...." Mittens said, "Bolt, where do.....Bolt?...." Bolt wasn't paying attention to Mittens as Mittens saw him staring off into space at something. Bolt froze in awe as his eyes were gazing on the most beautiful canine he'd ever seen. The dog was brown in color with a mix of white, a terrier she looked like. She was herding cattle alongside what looked like.....a Pony? Mittens looked over and her eyes lowered with a smile, "Bolty.....I think it's time I taught ya about love....." Bolt looked at Mittens, snapping him out of his trance, "Love?" Bolt asked. Bolt still had a lot to learn about being normal. "Yeah...." Mittens replied, "Y'see Bolt, when a dog loves another dog, it's called a mate. A mate is kinda like....a wife or a husband, but then again..... it's kinda complicated." "A....mate, you mean like....." "Yep!" "But....I....I've never considered having a mate before, the only person I love is Penny....." Bolt said, "I mean....what if she doesn't talk to me? I'm a complete stranger! I don't even know what to do or....or what to say!!" "Just..... be yourself," Mittens replied smiling, "Keep it cool....." "But.... are you sure it will work?.....I'm....I'm kinda....." Bolt began to blush. "Nervous?" Mittens chuckled, "Just go on! Go talk to her..... relax kid, you'll be fine!" "GO GET HER SUPERDOG!!!" Rhino cheered. Bolt smiled at his two friends. He turned and took a deep breath. He walked over to the dog, he stopped mid-way looking back at Mittens. Mittens gestured with her paw to tell him to "go on". Rhino gave him a grin with a thumbs up.  Bolt turned back as he suddenly bumped into the other dog. "Oh umm.... sorry....." The two said simultaneously. They both laughed and the two then stared into each other's eyes. "Hi...." Bolt said calmly with a smile. "Hello...." The other dog replied smiling. She looked at Bolt curiously, "Are you new here? I've never seen any other dogs around Sweet Apple Arces before...." "Uhh....yeah, I'm pretty new," Bolt chuckled nervously, "I'm....Bolt, what's your name?" "Winona....." The dog answered, "Well then Bolt, since you're new, allow me to be the first to welcome you to Sweet Apple Arces." "Thanks..... I'm here with my friends actually....." Bolt said. "Oh? You have friends?" Winona wagged her tail, "That's great!!" She looked over, "Is that them over there?" She saw Mittens and Rhino. "Yeah....that's them," Bolt said, "The cat is Mittens, the hamster is Rhino." "Rhino....the Hamster?" Winona raised an eyebrow. "He....gets that alot," Bolt chuckled. "Winona come on girl," Came the voice of Applejack. Applejack noticed the new dog with Winona and smiled, "Come on now.... y'all can play with yer new friends later...." "I better get going.... I need to bring in the next batch of cattle," Winona ran off and stopped, looking back at Bolt, "It was nice meeting you....Bolt." Bolt smiled as he saw Winona join up with her.....Pony? This world was strange as Bolt didn't see any humans in sight. "This place must have ponies as it's dominant species....." Bolt thought. He went back over to Mittens and Rhino. "See Bolt? Was that so hard?...." Mittens smiled. "No....I guess not...." Bolt replied. "Ohhhh....Bolt has a girlfriend!" Rhino teased. "Rhino....stop it!" Bolt laughed. Mittens smiled, "Come on, let's check this place out! While we're at it, I got some stuff to teach ya, lover dog!"
