Chapters introducing firefly (part 1)
Rainbow dash laughed out and zoomed head first into a cloud sending cloud pieces flying and evaporating into the fresh, crisp, autumn air. "Keep up slow-poke! I know you can fly faster than that!" Rainbow dash called out to a light faded pink Pegasus mare with a bright blue main just like rainbow dash's.
"Please! I'm just giving you a head start rainbow-crash!" The light pink Pegasus mare shouted back to the cyan Pegasus quickly zooming overhead and doing a barrel roll into a cloud as it broke apart and evaporated. The two Pegasi mares continued to laugh as they ran into more clouds and raced toward ponyville.
"Oh! race you too sugar cube corner! Even though I KNOW I'm gonna win fire-fail!" Rainbow dash laughed out zooming at record breaking speed toward a tiny, pink, gingerbread like, store in the center of town.
"Oh! i don't think so!" The pink Pegasus called out as she tackled rainbow dash at the last moment sending them tumbling into the ground howling in laughter.
"Nice landing rainbow-crash!" The pink Pegasus laughed out.
The rainbow maned Pegasus held her gut from laughing "Hey! Your the one that tackled me! that's an amazing way to cheat Fire-Fail!" The pink Pegasus got off of rainbow an laughed a bit more.
"Whatever. Don't act like you'v never done that to me before dash." Rainbow dash got to her feet and dusted herself off with her tail .
"Because i haven't... not until now!" She said tackling the pink Pegasus down to the ground as they cracked up in laughter again.
"Whatcha gonna do now firefly? Hmm?" rainbow said sitting on her as firefly struggled to push her off but was weak from all the laughter.
"Get -hahaha- off -haha- of me!.. You fat flanked dweeb!" She said wiping a tear away from her exotic dark purple eyes.
Rainbow dash got up and they both calmed down as pinkie pie bounced out "Hiya dashie! Who's your friend? I'v never seen her before and i know everypony in ponyville!" Rainbow dash smiled at pinkie pie.
"Hey pinkie! This is firefly!" Rainbow said as she pointed to the pink Pegasus.
firefly snorted "Dashie? Sounds like something dad used to call you. 'Dashie come over here! The wonderbolts are on TV!'" Firefly snickered and rainbow blushed lightly and kicked the ground with her hoof.
"Shut up fire-fail" Dash muttered.
Pinkie pie tilted her head curiously looking at the ponys resemblance "wow, you guys are like twins.. well.. not really... but you guys have the same mane style just in different shades, and you both are about the same height and your tails shape is basically a perfect image! Just Dashies mane is rainbow and yours is blue Fireflicker!"
Firefly laughed at the pink earth pony and hoofpalmed "It's FIREFLY pinkie pie; and thats because I'm dashes older siste-" pinkie bounced up and down and cut firefly off .
"Even your cutie marks look alike! You two must be sisters or something! Oh Oh Oh! Dashie! Dashie! Dashie! Did twlight make a Clone of you and just changed the colors around? Or maybe shes secretly you from another planet! Or maaaybe-"
Rainbow dash shoved her off over pinkie pies mouth and sighed "Pinkie. Firefly is my older sister. Duh." Rainbow dash said and rolled her eyes.
"Ohhhhhh." Pinkie pie muffled threw dashes hoof and dash quickly pulled it away.
"Ew! You licked me! Pinkie pie! ugh!!" Rainbow said
"EW DASH THATS GROSS DON'T WIPE IT ON ME!!!!" Firefly shouted as rainbow dash wiped the pinkie spit on fireflies left wing and laughed as Fire frantically wiped away the pinkie spit being the germophebic she is an glared.
"Oh firefly your funny! You should come meet the others!" Pinkie said as a little light bulb appeared above her head
firefly stared at the light bulb curiously. "How did she get that to-" rainbow cut her off.
"Celestia knows. And even then,i don't even know how she would know..." Rainbow dash and firefly chuckled at the little joke as they trotted over with pinkie pie to twilight sparkles library.
"Twi! Twi! Guess what!!! OK you didn't guess fast enough! Rainbow dash has a super cool, awesome, and funny sister!!!" Pinkie said in one breath and she bounced into the library followed by rainbow dash and firefly.
twilight sparkle jumped not excepting her friends to come by dropping the book she had but quickly picked it up and levitated it on the shelf. "That's very nice pinkie pie... wait.. what? Rainbow dash! When did YOU get a sister?"
When rainbow dash went to speak she was quickly butted out of the conversation by firefly trotting up and shaking hooves with twilight. "Hi! I'm firefly! RB's big sister. And, more like, I got a sister around... Maybe 15 years ago? I don't know. Awhile back. But you must be the Famous Alicorn Princess Twilight Sparkle."
Twilight nodded and smiled. "That's me."
Firefly looked around the library. "what a cool library. nice and small and cozy. I think its cooler than rainbow dashes library by at least 20 percen-" Rainbow dash tackled her sister to ground and covered her mouth with her hoofs.
Twilight raised and eyebrow. "Rainbow? You have a library..?"
"N-no! W-what library! Library's are for eggheads and i'm NOT an egghead." Rainbow dash stuttered out
Twilight rolled her eyes "Whatever you say rainbow dash." Firefly snickered at what twilight said and twilight smiled down at firefly. Rainbow dash got off her sister frustrated and embarrassed.
"L-lets just go to applejacks before firefly says anything ELSE she's going to regret later on." Rainbow gave an angry glance to firefly as she smiled and hugged her sister.
"Aww i love you too sis! By the way, you still owe me from earlier. When i beat you at cloud busting. Remember?" Rainbow dash raised an eyebrow
"I think not you crazy feather brain. I beat you by a mile!" The two mares bickered as pinkie pie, and twilight trotted behind them over to sweet apple acres.

introducing firefly (part 2): fireflies and fights
"Hey dash! Check this out!" Firefly called out as she zipped high into the air
"I'm going double inside-out loop!" She yelled over the slight breeze as she dove threw the sky high over sweet apple acres somewhat carelessly as she held her fall at dangerously high speeds,
"Hey firefly! Be careful! that looks dangerous!" Twilight called out.
Firefly simply replied in a daredevilsh tone "DANGER IS MY LIFFFFFFFFFE!" She said as she attempted the double inside-out loop thing but came to close the ground and ran straight into one of applejacks apple crates smashing apples and the crate as the others gasped and ran over. applejack bent down as the pink pegasus looked up and smiled as applejack laughed.
"applesauce anyone?" applejack said as the other busted into laughter. (anyone actually get this reference?) as firefly got up and shook the apple bits off.
"Ha. Ha. Ha. Aren't you just a riot aj." Firefly gave applejack a friendly glare then smiled.
"howdy fire. Been awhile since you stepped yer clumsy little daredevil hoofs on mai' farm now hasn' it?" applejack tipped her hat in greeting towards her old pal.
"Wait.. You guys know each other..? How? When?! Where?!?" Rainbow dash blurted out obviously as confused as pinkie and twilight. Firefly and applejack simply just looked at each other and fell down in laughter
"Me and Ms. cowpony here met a long, long, LONG, LOOONG, time ago. Back before you were even around" chuckled firefly

After firefly met the rest of the group, it was almost night so rainbow and firefly flew back to rainbow cloud house. "Nice friends you got there dash. How much do you pay them to stay your friend?" Firefly smiled as rainbow dash glared and punched her in the foreleg.
Dash and firefly sat on the cloud porch and watched all of the twinkling fireflies down below in the small valley on the outskirts of ponyville as firefly sighed.
"Ahh fireflies. Aren't they just beautiful dash? They light up the night sky like Luna's masterpiece..... Dash? You awake over there sis?"
"...Hmm? Oh! Yea! Sorry, kinda zoned out.... Hey firefly.... Can i ask you something?"
firefly turned to her sister with a soft and friendly smile. "Sure! Anything! Ask away!"
Rainbow hesitated at first looking down at the glowing at an blinking soft lights from the fireflies. Giving her enough courage to ask her beloved sister something she wanted to ask her for a long time "Why do you always travel? And never come to the family reunions? And seem to avoid me like the plague most of the time?" rainbow dash asked her older sister with a young soft voice.
Firefly stared at her younger sister with a touch of sympathy knowing how little she sees dash. And how often shes always halfway across Equestria. "Those fireflies are sure beautiful aren't they!" firefly said trying to change the subject as dash trotted over to firefly and sat down close to her.
"Firefly..." she said looking in her eyes. "Please answer me... You'v been avoiding this question for 8 years now... I need to know." Everything grew silent. not the chirp from a cricket or the sounds of an owl or the bustle from the busy ponyville trying to settle down and go to sleep.
Firefly sighed and dug her forehoofs into the cloud. "Remember when i got out of flight school and... That accident.... happened?" Rainbow nodded slightly and looked at her hoofs sadly.
"Well... i made a promise to travel all over equestria. Just for her. Because it was always her dream to travel and you knew it. I promised her I would take pictures of everything and give them to her. Even if... Even if i couldn't technically give them to her put you know what i mean."
Rainbow looked at her sister with tears forming in her eyes but she quickly blinked them away. "But why do you avoid me so much?"
Firefly grew silent for a full 5 minutes then finally talked to her again. "I was mad at you for a long time dash." Rainbow dash looked at her has if she had 3 eyeballs, which is something only a pinkie could pull off.
"Why?! I sent letters to your house every single month and you never wrote back! Not once! And then you just magically show up at my house unexpected and are like 'Oh well i randomly showed up unexpected i'm gonna spend a few months here i hope you have a room for me to sleep in and blah blah blah blah sisters yay!' And everything else you'v ever done!" Dash got to her hooves. As firefly stood rainbow could start to see anger form in her usually happy friendly dark purple eyes.
"I was with you threw everything as a filly rainbow dash. Remember all those times I stood up for you when those feather-brained stallions picked on you? Or how about whenever you were failing flight school and i would stay up all night with you for DAYS practicing with you. I cooked you dinner when dad was late the factory working! Everything! and you never once said 'Thanks firefly!' No. NOTHING. You would just run along and play with your friend fluttershy or went to your room or whatever!" The two mares the stared at each other in anger for awhile. Rainbow could obviously tell something was unleashed inside of firefly. Something nopony would ever wanna see. But rainbow tried her hardest not to cry and stay strong as she held her ground and unleashed something nopony would wanna see either
"Oh yea? Well fine then! Thanks firefly for ignoring me for 8 years because i thought telling you that you were my idol and telling you that your the best pony ever was enough! What else do you want?! A complementary muffin basket as well?" Rainbow spat out as firefly turned away to mad to even look rainbow in the eye .
"Whatever dash. I'll be leaving tomorrow. Don't even bother writing to me anymore. And by the way, I read every single one of your letters dash. I just was so busy i never had the chance to answer them. Some sister you are. I'll go spend the night at one of your friends houses. And head for Canterlot the morning." Firefly took off into the night without waiting for rainbow dash to react or without another word . Rainbow almost went after her but quickly folded her wings. She could tell firefly was probably crying. Dash had started to cry as well.
This isn't just over a glass of applecider
Rainbow Dash restlessly tossed and turned about in her bed as her sisters angry words replayed in her head several times. "whatever Dash. I'm leaving tomorrow. Don't even BOTHER writing to me anymore. Some sister you are." Fireflys words stung Rainbows heart like 1000 irritated bees as Rainbow looked up at her ceiling.
"I cant believe what I'v done. I drove away the one person that actually cared about me and would stay up all night and listen to my problems if i asked! Ugh why do I have to be such a stubborn featherbrain all the time!" Rainbow Dash yelled at herself as she sat up and stared out at the sleeping Ponyville her eyes starting to brim with tears "I chased away a my sister. My bestest friend in all of equestria is gone. She probably hates me now too." Dash rolled over onto her stomach and rested the side of her head against the pillow and closed her eyes. "Get some rest Dash. It's going to be a long day tomorrow."
Firefly knocked on the apple families door quietly not realizing the time as a sleepy Applejack came to the door.
"Firefly? What in tarnation' are you doin' here at this hour?!" the sleepy cowpony demanded as firefly looked at her hooves embarrassed.
"Sorry Aj. Me an Rainbow got in a fight and I got no were to stay. Do you mind if I spend the night? Just once? I'll help at the farm for the whole day in return, just like old times." Firefly told her as Applejack looked at her with sympathy and nodded.
" Ah understand. But ah don' wanna see you and big mac near each other ya hear!" Applejack laughed as firefly nodded and laugh along and went inside.

Rainbow Dash looked at the rising sun. She flew over toward sweet apple acres knowing Firelfy most likely went there considering applejack and her knew each other well. As she landed she saw the cowpony and her sister sitting on the back porch talking. carefully, Rainbow sunk over and evesdropped on there conversation
"Now tell me 'bout this fight ya'll were havin'."
"well, RD accused me of ignoring her for 8 years, and we kinda just blew up in each others faces."
"and thats what all this crazy talk about never being sisters again thing is about? You sound just like rarity when her and sweetie belle get into fights. Now sugarcube ah know ah may sound crazy, but ya'll need to just make up with Rainbow Dash and move on with yer life."
"honestly Applejack. This isn't over a mug of applecider. What was said out there was personal and I think Dash hates me for it. I know we both overreacted. But, I meant some of the things I said and Dash obviously did to. You should'v seen the look on her face, The Captains of the Equestrian Army are less scarier than the look she gave me. "
"Sugarcube, this is Rainbow dash we're talkin' 'bout here right? Give her afew days and she'll come lookin' for ya. Actually, shes probably lookin' for ya now."
The two mares peered around quietly. Rainbow Dashes ears drooped as he hit the ground suprising the mares out of there skin. "Firefly I-"
"were you spying on us?"
"yea but-"
"Ugh! So like you! I can never get and privacy at all!
Applejack glared at firefly and elbowed her in the chest giving her a slight nod toward Rainbow dash. muttering, Firefly picked up her bag and turn to her sister.
"Look, Dash, What was said was said. I only spoke the truth, but if you're willing to accept it, then I'll come back to your place an visit for alittle while."
Rainbow Dash felt some aner flare up in her again. "What? Seriously? Firefly, When I was a little filly you did help me out. but i still THANKED you. I'm not accepting anything till you earn some commen sense and USE it." Firefly looked in disgust at Dash as she strapped on her bag.
"Fine then! I'll just be headed to canterlot then!" Firelfy spat out as she trotted down the stairs and rammed into Rainbow Dash as she past by. Sending Dash to take afew steps back almost falling backwards. Applejack stared ahead blankly taking in what had happened.
"Sugarcube, I'd think it'd be best if you went after your sister and tried to clear things up-" Applejack had star tbut Rainbow Dash rudely cut her off
"save it Aj."
Rainbow Dash flew up landing on the soft and light streets of cloudsdaile quickly heading over to a group of two mares gossiping.
"Hey Luckybrush and Penstroke! Have you seen Cloud or Bolt around?" Rainbow Dash asked concerned as the two mares smiled.
"Dash! What a great surprise to see you here! Cloud is with Bolt in the Rainbow bakery like usual." the light brown mare with brown eyes and a darker brown said with a friendly smile.
"Thanks Penstroke!" she said as she trotted into the rainbow bakery with alittle yelling in the back.
"NO NO NO BOLT DON'T TOUCH AT -BAM!-" Rainbow quickly hurried back to see bolt with a bowl over his head that was dripping down strawberry filling.
"Oh hey Rainbow Dash!" The light grey teenagerish colt smiled and licked up some of the filling the had dripped down to the corner of his mouth as Rainbow laughed.
"hey Bolt. Hey cloud." Rainbow said as a light grey mare about Dashes age turned to her and smiled.
"Hey Dash! What brings you to cloudsdaile? It's been a year." Cloud said as Rainbow dash bit her lip and stuttered.
"Well.."
Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.
