Applejack and Rainbow Dash have become avid fans of the new sport called brawling; a non lethal tourney between mysterious beasts of remarkable ability. Their greatest disappointment however, was when the champion retired early from the competition.

Upon rediscovering the champ in a more lethal and illegal variant of Brawling, Applejack becomes a key catalyst in a conspiracy that extends to all branches of Equestria. As she struggles to pull out, the truth of Brawling only pulls her and her friends back in.
