chapter 1: awakened
It was late afternoon and five ponies were in the waiting outside the ponyville hospital emergancy room in a silence that suggested that a great calamity has befallen them, but they do not talk they just wait in a deepening silence, but soon the silence was broken as the light dinged and a nurse walked out with a relieved air, and thier names are rarity,applejack, rainbowdash, fluttershy, and pinkie pie
"Will she be alright nurse?" rarity asked, the pony in question is pale white with a purple, curled mane and tail.
"She was lucky that none of the metal fragments hit any of her major organs,but we couldnt get the metal in her stomach out without having to need to operate further " the equally white pony said, but unlike the questioner she had a nurses hat covering her mane
"What was she doing anyways that could cause her to get like this?" apple jack asked the purple dragon next her.
"Well AJ, she was trying to create a magic powered generator that can supply limitless energy, and be recharged by unicorn magic." the dragon explained.
"Worry to interrupt, but i came here to tell you that she will be spending a week her just to make sure that the remaining metal in her body doesn't cause any more trouble" the nurse pony said.
"Alright" said the group.
one week later
The group that had left a week earlier with the air of expectance, and soon it would turn into the air of graduation as a purple pony with indigo main with a pink sripe walked out of the hospital main doors to meet her friends
"HELLO TWILIGHT," pinkie pie screamed, with joy as the pony she was yelling at winced a little but smiled as she hugged her friend
"Glad to see you out of that horrid place dearie," rarity said, as she looked up and down her friend with a critical eye
"Oh-umm, its good to see you Twilight," fluttershy said as she hid behind her pink mare
"Next time you do something stupid can you please make it less life threatening?," rainbow dash said.
Finally twilight spoke though raspy from not having spoke in a week, "hehe, i'll try rainbow, but i cant make any guarenties."
"Twilight, pinkie promise us that you'll try to never scare us like that ever again," pinkie pie pleaded.
"Fine, cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye" twilight said, as she did the motions, but closed her eye this time.
"What ah want to know is what exactly happened to cause that much damage.", AJ said
"Well i acually dont know what went wrong with it," twilight explained ," i had just added the copper and tin core to the steel and iron shell, and i also added bronze wiring to the core and then connected them to the shell, but i guess the core touched the shell and the magic collision cause it to over load and explode, but im fine now."
"Alright we just came by to congradulate you on your recovery, and take care ya hear Twilight."
"Okay."
Twilight looked up and noticed that they had been walking around since noon and it was getting late so twilight bid her friends fairwell, and walked into her house that was library/tree/lab/danger zone, as she walked into her house she called for spike "SPIKE, SPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKE!!"
"I'm down here," spike called back as he came up the stairs carrying shards of metal in his hands, but as he passed in front of twilight the metal in his hand flew straight out and embedded them selfs in the book case opposite him.
"Umm what just happened?," spike asked as they observed the destroyed books
"Uhh i dont know, but i just saw the metal, got spooked and wanted it away from me."
"Hmm, can you replicate what you did?"
"I dont know, but we can try tomorrow."
"Oh alright"
the next day
"Alright I got the shards of metal from yesterday"
"Good now set them on the table."
Spike set the small shards of metal on the table as twilight stared at the shards with a look of concentration that probably could have melted them if she could shoot heat out of her eyes, but after ten minets of staring twilight broke her stare away.
"Arrrrrrg, i did it before with no effort but now I cant even get them to move."
"Could it be that last time you did it instinctually instead of trying to force it."
"I dont know but maybe I just used my magic in a brief flare."
CRASH, a resounding crash echoed through the tree as a small tin disk whistled through the air towards twilights head, but just like with the metal shards it suddenly changed trajectory when it came with in a meter of twilight, and embedded itself into the book spike brought up to shield himself with until it was three fourths into the book, unlike before however twilight felt something in side her flare then just go out as quickly as it started.
"WHAT WAS THAT?!?!?!?"
"It is...... a tin disk, but what is it for?"
Spike just looks at her and shrugs, but twilight looks closer at the disk, and sees 'mistborn' written on the edges of the disk, she also notices that it wasnt sharp, but still could pack a bone cracking punch. however, so engrossed in what the disk said she fail to notice a caped form fly away, but unlike the pegasi that inhabit this town, it had claws and cat like yellow eyes.
POV hooded figure
I guess she is a mistborn, but one from the pony race is rare, and a unicorn is even more so. i shall watch her but i cant do this every day, so i guess me and my companion are going to have to make friends and watch her, but there are enemies that will try to kill her once her abilities come to light. the figure mused to him self as he pushed again on the coin he just dropped, soon he reached a camp site a few miles away from ponyville.
"So where have you been?", a young female diamond dog asked
"Watching potential grow.", the hooded figure said
"So i was right."
"Indeed, but her powers are growing, and i fear that if those monsters catch wind of this they will enslave this race too."
"Indeed, but how will we keep an eye on her powers so that when the time is right we can teach her?"
"Tomorrow we shall visit the town and make friends with her, but we must be careful."
"Why?"
"Because the steel empire has thier gaze on the bears of the mythical elements of harmony, and if they find that one is a mistborn, they will not just enslave this race but be the very reason for its extinction."
the rise of the allomancers
twilight was fast asleep on a book about the many types of magic from around and afar from Equestria, but her findings turned up nothing about her strange occurrences with the metal nor had it turned up evidence of it ever happening before, but twilight knew that there is something more to it that just what she had done, however she was still searching, however near the Everfree forest a creature and his diamond dog companion just came out and were looking at ponyville from a distance.
"This should be interesting." Our hooded figure commented dryly
"We might as well get the main panic phase over with." His diamond dog companion said
Soon they entered the town a few hours later and not to their surprise all the sound stopped and soon the ponies were running every which way to get to their homes, but that didn't phase the two until they noticed a emerald green pony with two red eyes staring at them.
"Ah rax and his bitch, rowhen, i was wondering when you two would show up." the figure said
"Gah, i hate you things." Rax cried
"Nice, but there are more of us mimics than there are of you." He said as boxes, bushes, and other objects returned to their normal state
"Damn, i was hoping not to have to use my powers here, but i guess this is a must." Rax said to rowhen
"Dont worry we can take a few mimics, and we may not have to even use allomancy." Rowhen replied as she drew her steel Katana
Rax took this as a cue to draw his twin adamantium sabers, but they had no time to prepare as the first few mimic shape shifted their arms into blades and split into two groups, four were on Rowhen, and three were on Rax, but they still held their own as Rax reached into his cloak pulled out a vial of liquid with pewter, iron, steel, tin, and atium in it and drank the whole thing down, as did Rowhen.
"BE WARY, THEY HAVE THEIR ALLOMANTIC POWERS AT FULL." The commanding mimic shouted as his mimics were being more cautious and not going all in, but they still were going hard nonetheless.
The fight in the middle of the street is not something to be dismissed, because soon it caught the attention of the returning mane 6 to their home, and saw two warriors surrounded by what looked like changelings, but did not exhibit any of their powers, but what caught twilight attention was the bigger one as he pulls out what looks like arrow heads and without using magic, somehow throws them at at least forty five miles per hour tearing a few of the creatures apart, but the interesting thing was that they disintegrated when they died, but soon she was focused again on the two warriors as the bigger one, male probably, was stabbed in the arm, shoulder and leg at the same time, but thanks to his pewter he didn't fall, but merely grunted in pain as he let loose another volley of deadly projectiles, but his companion wasn't fairing better as she was cut along her belly and had multiple stab wounds in her arms.
"Twi, we got to help 'em." Applejack said urgently
"But we don't know them, or why their being attacked." Twilight replied
"Consarnit, we may not know now, but if they die we will never find out, plus i hate watching a fight that is one sided."
"Fine, applejack and rainbow with me," Twilight commanded," and Rarity, fluttershy and pinkie go ready the medical supplies"
the fight was turning out for the worst as the two warriors battle torn and wary were not defending as good as they were at the start nor were they as fast, but they soon got a shock as a big purple flash appeared in front of them and soon three new allies were fighting off the surviving mimics, knowing they were out matched the mimic commander ordered his troops to pull back as they turned into birds as flew away in a good sized flock.
"Alright lets get these two to the hospital and figure out what that was all about." twilight said as she looked at the two mysterious strangers, and summoned stretchers, but she hadn't yet gotten a good look at the faces of the warriors.
~ later at the hospital ~
"We got most of the larger cuts sealed, but the amount of damage they sustained has made many of our unicorn doctors wary" nurse red heart said
"but you got a look at their faces right?"
"hmm, we didn't have the heart to removed the face cloaks they wore"
"when will they be awake?"
"Well judging from the amount of damage they took, about a week."
"well i guess we will have to wait."
"wait, it seems our two warrior have a better constitution than i thought, their already awake," and with that statement the nurse and twilight went to meet the two that mysteriously showed up and turned the square into a battle zone, though twilight has no idea what she wanted to say exactly.
they have figured out that im awake, and the purple one is with, this is good because then i can see, if this is the right place, and if i actually screwed i us over. rax mused as he searched in his pockets and soon came up with a bottle filled with some of the basic metals that gave a allomancer his powers.
"well hello there" twilight said as Rax uncorked the vial, he didn't answer as he pulled down the face mask and drank the entire vial in one go.
"he doesn't talk much to new people, or creatures hes met, it took him 7 years before he even gave me a full sentence" a female voice behind twilight said, soon twilight looked behind her and saw two big yellow eyes on a black diamond dog, and judging from the voice it was female
"who are you two?"
"i am rowhen the diamond dog, and my companion is Rax the Orc, but me and rax are just fine"
"i didn't think orcs traveled that far from their homeland to the east"
"me and him are travelers, we don't usually stay in one place for long"
as twilight was about to ask why the other one look at them with small and serious emerald green eyes, and a face of scars, said "you ever hear about the steel empire from the north?"
