"The Ponoa"

Previous Chapter

"Where are we going?" Aurora asked. The only female of the adult dragons held her, since she couldn't fly yet.

"Somewhere safe." the first one said, causing the second to frown.

"You ever hear of the Dragon Tribes?" the second asked.

"Yeah, there were the Taloni, and the Firesteads!" Aurora smiled, "They shared all their treasures and things, but disbanded when greed took them all."

"Well, we created our own. The Ponoa." the second said

"Really?" Aurora asked with fascination in her eyes.

   "Yes, it means, 'Pony-Raised-Dragons'."

The flew into a clearing, where several caves could be seen. There were two dragons there, waiting. One was obviously the eldest of them, but not much older, the other looked like he could be older than Aurora's rescuers.

"Good," the eldest said, "You've found her." The eldest looked at Aurora as she took in the beauty of the place. He saw wonder in her eyes, just as he had had at her age. The fascination to know about this place.

"Names Lightning." the one that was older than her rescuers said. He was a black dragon, with yellow spikes and eyes.

"I'm Violet." the female rescuer said. Her scales were a bright yellow, like daisies, her mane and eyes were violet.

"I'm Flame." the other rescuer said. His scales were orange, and he had blue spikes and eyes.

"And I'm Spike." the eldest said with a smile.

"Let me show you to your cave, Aurora." Spike led the younger dragon away from the group, who started talking amongst themselves. "After that, I'll show you around."

Aurora clenched on of her claws together, holding what little her rescuers had allowed her to bring. A teddy bear, a photograph, and a story book. That was all she had time for. All of it in a bag.

"This place is amazing." Aurora said, looking at the puffy white clouds and overall wonderful day.

Finally they came to a cave. Inside was a bed, a bookshelf, and a small kitchen.

"Thank you, Spike." Aurora said, "I haven't been able to be... normal, ever since the war started. This'll be a great change."

"It's no problem." Spike said, "I'll let you settle in. Expect me later."
