//-------------------------------------------------------// Down The River With Rainbow Dash -by ExtraordinayPony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2                                                                                    Chapter 2 "How's it going? Suddenly AJ was walking at my side. " Okay, I guess. " " You don't look so happy." said AJ. " I'm ready to be in camp ", I said. When Braeburn says a mile, you know its two or three. It's part of his charm. We jumped a little creek and started up a steep slope. Soon neither of us had enough breathe to speak, but nothing can out get The One and only Rainbow Dash ( me ). "Poor scoots, she must be wondering what happened to me, heck she's probably planning my hedge stone right now, I should probably give scoots a vist some time", I whispered. I pictured Scootaloo sitting by my hedge stone crying. " Ugh, I said. Take that out of my head. " Tomorrow, you're all going to climb Storm King Peak ", Braeburn announced. We finally made it to camp. I glanced over at Twilight, the flickering of the camp fire's light on her deep dark purple coat, from here it looked like Twilight had a sad smile on her face. " She must be worried about spike", I thought. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3                                                                           Chapter 3 The night before Storm King, I got no rest. I was whirling and tumbling inside the cave. I woke up and took a drink from my water bottle between AJ and me. It was pitch dark, still in the middle of the night. " Are you okay?" said AppleJack. I must have spooked her, I thought." I'm okay," I said, barely standing up. " Just fell of a cloud of rocks, that's all." " That's not good, Dash." " Well, I guess not". " Imaging can make things happen," she whispered. "  You need to work on your images". " It's not like I can control my dreams, AJ". " I've had falling dreams since I was little". What I didn't tell her was, they all started right after my mother died. I'd told her enough. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1                                                                                Chapter 1              I stumbled on a rock that was barely sticking up, my hoofs were that tired. Flailing for balance, with the pack working against me, I slipped in the mud and almost went down. I still couldn't believe this was really happening. I couldn't believe my dad had done this to me. For five days Braeburn had been leading us into the most rugged corners of the Mane Dirt Mountains in the southwestern Colorado, coaxing and pushing us over the passes and into the peaks, through good weather and bad weather, mostly through bone freezing rain and sleet. " October in the mountains, Braeburn said with a grin. " So, Braeburn, I said. " You live a whole lot closer to the edge." The going was always either straight  up or down, we rarely followed the trails. There were six of us, six girls, including me and colt, Braeburn. All serving nine weeks in this outdoor education school from hell. Braeburn called his program The Mane Fun, but we called it  the Dirt, the name we inherited from previous waves of misfits who'd come through the place. Braeburn kept us marching all day under heavy packs of snow, grinding us down in preparation for ....... for what? He would never say when you asked him. He'd only reply with a knowing grin. Hike, freeze, starve, and risk your life every day- for what? Just a mile till camp, gals, " Braeburn said. I still can't believe Rarity and Fluttershy came along, I mean, Rarity is scared of dirt and Fluttershy is afraid of Hights. "Think about a sunny day", I whispered.
