Mr. K's day started going weird when he felt his pet mouse crawling up his pajama pants.
K sat up and shook hisy leg in an attempt to get the mouse out. The mouse started squealing and slid out onto K's bed. He put his hand over his chest, trying to calm his breath.
"Mousei!" K cried. "What are you doing?!"
"I was trying to wake you up!" the mouse, Mousei, said.
"Is something wrong?" K asked.
Mousei rolled his small eyes. "You're late!" he said. "You were supposed to meet with Princess Cadence half an hour ago!"
K looked at the clock on the nightstand beside his bed and swore under his breath. Mousei was right! He was late. He threw the covers off and got out of bed.
"I'm telling you," Mousei said, "you need a clock with an alarm!"
K pulled out a shirt, jeans, and his duster and ran into the bathroom throwing his pajamas off as he did so. K began to put his shirt on. He had never been late to a report session since he became the royal adviser to Princess Miamora Cadenza. The Princess was gonna be ticked off.
When he was finally dressed, K buttoned his pants and ran over to the bed, picking up Mousei. "You ready to go?" he asked Mousei.
Mousei nodded. "Let's do this."
K put his pointer and middle finger on his forehead and focused. "Equestria, Crystal Empire, outside the palace," he said.
K. felt a gust of wind and the world melted around him, turning into a blue swirl.
"Change form!" K yelled over the wind. "Equestrian!"
He let go of Mousei and he began floating and changing form. His whisker's vanished, his snout shifted to be curved and pointed upwards, and his rat nose shrunk into his snout. His light brown fur turned green as he slowly grow. He balled his toes into fists and his feet turned into hooves. Long hair sprouted from his spine and it went down part of his back. His tail shrunk and sprouted a large tuft of hair. He now looked like a pony.
K looked down at my legs and noticed the dark blue hair on them. His hands were turned into hooves. He was a pony, too. Good thing about interdimensional travel-transforming doesn't hurt.
Suddenly, the world formed around K and Mousei and they was standing in front of a large castle. There were two shining ponies standing in front of the castle, wielding spears and wearing armor. The ponies leaped backwards when they saw K and Mousei.
"W-woah!" one of the guards said. "H-how'd you get here?!"
"No time to explain!" J said. "I need to see Princess Miamora Cadenza. I'm her royal advisor."
The guard looked at his friend, then back at K. "You're late, Mr. K," he said.
"I know," K said. "I need to see the princess."
"Of course," the second guard replied. The two parted their spears. "You can enter."
K turned to Mousei. "You wait out here, okay?" K instructed Mousei.
"Got it," Mousei nodded.
K nodded and walked past the guards.

K opened the door to the throne room and entered. Princess Cadence was sitting at her throne with two guards standing beside her. Princess Luna was standing in front of her, facing away from Mr. K.
Cadence looked past Luna at K. "Mr. K!" she said. "You've arrived."
Luna turned to face Mr. K and K bowed in respect. "I apologize for being late, Princess," he said. "And for interrupting your conversation."
"It's okay," Cadence said. She looked back at Luna. "If you'll excuse us."
K heard little Luna grunt quietly, but she turned around and walked by him towards the throne room exit. K kept his head down in respect. When the door closed, K raised his head to look at Cadence. "Shall I deliver my report, now?" he asked her.
"Yes," Cadence said.
K delivered his report on spreading the Crystal Empire's influence in Earthrealm.

After the meeting, Princess Cadence dismissed Mr. K. K was almost at the castle's exit when he heard a voice behind hi,. "So," it said, "you are the royal adviser to Princess Cadence?" K turned and saw Princess Luna, looking at him.
` K got my first good look at Luna. Her mane was long and was moving in a swirl pattern. She had both a horn and a wings. The only other pony that I had seen with that was Princess Cadence. Her skin color was dark blue and she had a crescent moon as a cutie mark.
K stared at her for a minute, then remembered his manners, bowing in respect. "Yes, Your Highness," he said.
"I have been to the Crystal Empire many times," Luna said, "and I have not seen you. Might I ask who you are?"
"My name is Mr. K," K said, raising his head. "I'm...not really from here."
"May I inquire where you come from?" Luna asked.
K hesitated. He had never told anyone in Equestria, or in any world for that matter, that he was from another dimension. How would she react? Would she even believe him?
K sighed. "I...am a wizard," he said.
Luna looked at him, confused. "So?" she questioned. "We have a lot of wizards in Equestria."
"Probably none as powerful as me," K said, trying not to sound like he was bragging. "I study human magic, which I'm pretty sure is more powerful the unicorn magic."
Luna gasped quietly, her eyes going wide. She looked down both sides of the hall, then back at K. "Ahem," she said. "I must be going." Before K could say anything, she turned and quickly left.

When K exited the palace, he found Mousei doing card tricks for the guards and, as usual, he wasn't impressing them. K walked up to Mousei. "Let's go," he told him.
"Kay," Mousei said. He and K turned and walked away.
However, rather than going into an alleyway and jumping to the human dimension, K stopped Mousei at a place where nopony could see them.
"What is it?" Mousei asked. "Why aren't we leaving?"
K sighed. "I need to speak to Luna," he said. "And I'm going to do it tonight."
"Are you crazy?!" Mousei cried. "Luna's on the moon! We can't go to the moon!"
"Calm down!" Mr. K said, putting his hoof on Mousei's shoulder. "I've read about her sometimes. She comes down to the Canterlot guard tower at nighttime while her sister sleeps. We'll visit her then."
"How exactly do you plan to get to the guard tower?" Mousei asked.
"Don't worry," K said. "I have a plan. Right now, we need to get to Canterlot."
Mousei sighed, then nodded. "Fine," he said. "Let's get moving."
K and Mousei left the alley they were in and trotted towards the train station. When they got there, they approached the ticket mare behind the stand. "Two tickets to Canterlot, please," Mr. K asked.
"That'll be twenty-five bits," the ticket mare said.
K opened his saddlebag, pulled out a slip of paper, and slid it onto the mare's desk. "I believe this will suffice," he said.
The mare read the paper, her eyes widening as she did. She looked up and gave me the paper. "Everything is in order," she said. "Have a nice ride, Chief Advisor."
"I've also got my assistant with me," K said, motioning to Mousei. "Does this account for him?"
"Of course, Chief Advisor," the mare said. "Proceed."
K nodded, then led Mousei onto the train. K didn't often use his badge, but he thought that this was a pretty desperate time.
"So," Mousei said when they were on the train and had taken their seats, "you mind telling me what your plan is?"
"You don't really need to know," K said. "When we get to the castle, just distract the guards out front. And don't stop until you see me."
"Alright," Mousei said. He leaned back and closed his eyes. "Wake me when we get to Canterlot."
K leaned back as well. He would need some sleep, too. It was gonna be a rough afternoon.

Two hours later, Mr. K and Mousei were standing in the alleyway of the Canterlot Palace. Two guards were standing in front of the palace.
K looked up at the palace side. "Alright," he said, not looking at Mousei. "You distract the guards, I'll get to work."
"Got it," Mousei said, walking to the guards, pulling out a deck of cards as he did.
K looked around to make sure nopony was watching, looked at the nearest palace window, and jumped up to it, grabbing it when he was high enough. He pulled himself up and climbed into the window.
K took a second to examine the hallway. It was mostly empty, except for a few guards and a civilian pony, who was standing right beside the window he had just climbed in.
"You just-" the pony started. Before she could continue, K covered the mare's mouth.
"Shh," he said. "Where can I find the guard tower?" The mare lifted her hoof and pointed to a door behind K. "Thanks," K said. "Now, was I here?"
The mare shook her hand frantically. K uncovered her mouth, then trotted towards the door. He heard a trot He tried to open the door, but it was locked. K closed his eyes and tried to focus on the door's lock. He found it and began to pick the lock with magic.
As he picked the lock, he heard a yell behind him. "Hey!" He turned to see the guards staring at him. He stared at the guards, trying to keep his focus on the locks.
The guards ran toward him just as the lock was picked. One guard tried to spear him, but K rolled to the side. He quickly focused his energy and transformed himself into a human, giving himself more maneuverability.
The guards drew back, giving K time to pull out his Rod, a stick he uses to focus his magic. K aimed his Rod at the first guard and fired a paralyzing ray at him, causing the guard to collapse to the ground.
The second guard backed away in fear. "Wh-what are you?" he stammered. "What did you do to my friend?!"
"You're friend will be fine in an hour," K replied. He aimed the Rod at the other guard. "I think I'll let you off easier than I did him."
With that, K shot the guard with a knock-out ray, making him fall to the ground. K stood over the two and used his magic to erase their memories.
K opened the door, revealing a large spiral staircase. K looked at the wall of the staircase and drew a symbol with his Rod, using the same energy used in teleportation magic.
After that, K left the staircase, making sure to lock the door behind him. He then transformed himself back into his pony state and jumped out the window he came in. Everything was set.
Now all he had to do was wait.
