The Legend of the Sound Striders

Well, here we are, we have come a long way you and I, you reading and judging my story and myself writing it.

Here you are again, galloping around your new home, one that you made more close to Luna so she could enter and exit it as she pleases.

"Oh where is it?!"
You are looking for it.

"This seems familiar, don't you agree?"

"No time, I'm looking for something"

"What is it that you are looking for?"

"Vinyl's bib, it has to be around here some where"

"Did you check under the table?"

"Oh here it is, thank you, I have been looking for it everywhere"

Your foal Vinyl was born under a full moon believe it or not, that is when your powers grow the strongest. The birth was not easy but it was not hard either. Her talents did not stem far from yours, at first she was like any other foal except her natural talent for music, that was something that puzzled ponies. Vinyl started playing her first instrument at two years old, her first instrument was the cello, though she had thought classical boring she had a rather strange place for the ponies who played it, she respected them, being able to stay awake through the whole song.

Vinyl, took on a mixture of colors from you and Luna, her eyes were Ruby Red and her coat, like yours was a neon white, she took on mostly Luna's mane's coloring, having a two tone electric blue mane and tail.

"Ok, come here my little Vinyl, come to papa" You say trying to coax Vinyl towards you.

Vinyl notice's and starts trotting towards you, when she reaches you she says, "I Wub you daddy"

"ooohhh, daddy wubs you too" You say picking Vinyl up and putting her on your back.

When she finally succeeds on climbing onto your back you start trotting over to the foal chair. She climbs into the chair and you put the bib onto her.

"Ooook, guess who gets to eat shredded carrots?"

"Do I have to?" Vinyl whines.

"Don't you want to grow up to be strong with your magic?"

"Carrots can hewp me become stronger?" She asks skeptical of how that works.

"Yes, and if you eat enough, you could probably beat me" You say holding a hoof to your chest.

"Reawy? You think I could beat you?"

"Vinyl, you have already won, you are to cute to fight" You say poking her snout.

You turn away as you hear the only door opening, and when you peek your head around the corner you see Luna.

"How was your Night?" You ask her as she trots over to you.

"So many dreams had to be taken care of, so many nightmares had to be handled, all in all, it was a very busy night"

"Just as long as you get to come home and visit Vinyl"

You turn around towards Vinyl who is trying to get a good view of who it is.

"Vinyl guess who it is"

"Is it Auntie Cewestia?" She asks, still trying to get a good view of who it is.

"hmmm, close, but no"

"Oh, I know, is it mommy Wuna?"

At that moment Luna steps around the corner and gives Vinyl a big hug.

"Oh Vinyl, how come every time I see you I can't help but not want to leave?"

"I don't know mama, why?" She ask still wrapped up the in the hug.

"It's probably because you are to cute"

You are just sitting here, watching your Special Mare visit your child for the brief time of day, and you cannot feel any happier, what could go wrong?

Just when you are going to join their conversation you hear a knock on the door and you go to see who it is. It's Iron Wing.

"Well hey Iron Wing, what brings you here?"

"I just got this letter for you, it seems urgent. And how have you been?"

"Oh I have been doing fine, Luna can't get a break though, and Vinyl is just a bundle of energy"

"Sounds like fun, but I have got to go, hope Luna can get a break soon, she deserves it"

"Ok bye Iron, hope things go well for you too" You say shutting the door.

You open the letter and begin to read it,

Dear Night Music,

This is a letter from Canterlot Labs, we are hoping to get a sample of your DNA to observe and test. You can decline, we would not get offended but it would be for the public Populaces best interest to help us. If you accept and are willing to help us, we will make sure that you receive a ride over here.

"Who was it Nighty?"

"Hm? oh, it was Iron Wing with a letter he said it was urgent but I don't see why"

"What's the letter about?" Luna asks moving up next to you to be able to read the letter.

"It's about Canterlot Labs wanting some of my DNA to observe"

"I heard about them, but I have never really visited them, they help the population with their break through's in medicine and technology"

"Well, then I don't see a reason that I shouldn't help the public then, I shall hire a foal sitter tomorrow morning and I will go"

"Isn't this the time where you narrate what I am doing to your "readers"

Silence

"Fine be that way, it's nice to have some peace and quiet in my mind"

Still, Silence fills your mind

"Oh, we are here" You say looking up at the building between a a cake store and a couch and quill store.

"Oh, Couches and Quills must be branching out to other places but ponyville"

You look upon the building in front of you, weird, you haven't noticed this place before, it was a grey building with light blue roofing shingles. As you trott up to the front door you get a eary feeling in your spine.

Knock Knock Knock

No answer

You notice something, when you knocked on the door it opened up a little, so you decide to push the door open and you freeze on the spot right in front of you was a armed military guard wearing armor you have never seen before.
