Said Scootaloo. "Hi!" Rumble said back. He stood there for a moment smiling. It was only a few months ago and this filly was in a fight for survival. Her against her abusive farther. Luck for Rumble, he reached Rainbow Dash in time to save the filly that he loved (As people say) from death. "So what are we gonna do today?" Scootaloo asked. "Maybe we could go see a movie?" Rumble said. "Yeah... No," "Come on Scoots, it won't kill you to be a little romantic," "Yes, it would, and beside it's way to early to see a movie," Scootaloo said. "I guess your right," Rumble said. Soon Rumble and Scootaloo were throwing ideas of what to do this Saturday, but to no avail. "Dammit," Scootaloo said "Why can't we just ride around." "I'd rather not die on you scooter," Rumble said simply. "Please...." Scootaloo said. "Don't" "PLEASE!" "FINE!" "YES!" Rumble faced hoofed. I can't believe agreed to do this... Rumble thought. as Scootaloo came riding up beside him. "Alright your steering," Scootaloo said. "I'd figure as much...." Rumble responded. "Turn there," Scootaloo said. "Alright...." Rumble responded. "And... we're here," Scootaloo said. "Why are we at the park?" Rumble asked. "Cause I like it here," Scootaloo said flatly. "Well I think I'm gonna do something I haven't done since I got on that scooter." '"And what is that?" "Relaxe." Scootaloo rolled her eyes. "You act like I could kill you." "You could," Rumble said flatly. "Are you saying I want to kill you?" Scootaloo spat. "Maybe," Rumble teased. "What ever, go do your relaxing." Rumble found a tree and leaned against it, and watched Scootaloo do her tricks on her scooter. A few hours passed before Scootaloo finally stopped doing her flips and what else she does. "So, Rumble...." "Yeah?" Scootaloo seemed a bit nervous. "Wanna go see.... um... that movie?" Rumble couldn't resist a smile, "Sure, lets go." Scootaloo and Rumble we're right out side the theater. "Alright, Scoots pick one," Rumble said. "Er...." Scootaloo looked at the movies, trying to think of one that interest her. Suddenly a voice broke her concentration. "There's a Daring Doo, movie in twenty minutes maybe you like that," the voice said. Scootaloo stood in shock and confusion at the source of the voice. She looks so familiar. She thought. "Yeah, come on Scoots lets go see that movie," Rumble said pulling Scootaloo towards the ticket stand. "Okay." Scootaloo said still looking at this stranger. "You okay Scoots?" Rumble asked. "Huh? I mean.... yeah," Scootaloo said. "You sure?" Rumble asked, "You seem out of it." "Sorry, I was just thinking about the movie." "Okay...." Rumble said, "I guess... I'll go get the tickets." "Thanks," Scootaloo said gently nuzzling Rumble. Rumble was soon in the line at the ticket booth. Scootaloo decided to sit down trying to figure out who that mare was. Then something happened. an old memory Scootaloo wished she could forget. A memory of her mom... and dad.... She shivered. It was a memory of when her mom left saying that they we're both worthless, but before she left, she kicked her. She felt like crying at the memory. Soon she was deep in thought of why that memory came into head. "Come on Scoots, we're gonna miss the movie!" Rumble said. Scootaloo flinched, "Oh, Its just you." "Yeah its just me," Rumble said softly, "Come on lets go see... that movie." "Alright!" Scootaloo said getting up, "Lead the way." Soon they we're sitting down waiting for the movie to start. "Scootaloo?" Rumble said. "Yeah?" "Are you sure your okay?" Rumble asked, "You seemed like you we're about to puke when you were sitting on that bench." "I'm just fine Rumble." Scootaloo responded. "I hope so, I don't wanna get sick." Rumble said. Scootaloo looked at him for a minute, then she gave a small smile "Don't worry Rumble I'm fine, I promise." "Alright, Alright." Rumble said, "Just making making sure." Scootaloo and Rumble sat at the bench outside the theater. Rumble wasn't sure why, but Scootaloo was hopping to see that mare again and possibly find out who she is. Time ticked by slowly, and Scootaloo was about to give up. "Alright, Rumble lets start heading home," Scootaloo said softly. "Sure," Rumble responded Suddenly a voice spoke, "Your not going anywhere!" Scootaloo turned to see the mare looking right at her. "Oh is that so..." The mare was looking at her a insane smile on here face. Scootaloo shivered. "It is so," the mare said. "Hey," Rumble said, "leave her alone!" "Make me," the mare said. Rumble started gritting his teeth. "Go Scoots," he said, "I think I can hold her off long enough for you to get Rainbow." Suddenly Scootaloo was shoved to the ground. "Worthless," the mare said. Rumble reacted quickly, shoving the mare off Scootaloo. "RUN!" he said. The mare flung Rumble off her. "Rumble!" Scootaloo said running towards him. A hoof stopped her. The mare gave the same insane smile. She raised a hoof above Scootaloo's head. "ENOUGH!" Anther voice said. Scootaloo eyes widened as Rainbow Dash stood between her and this mysterious mare. "This ends now!" Rainbow shouted. Surpise"And just who are you?" The mare asked. "That's not important!" Rainbow spat, "I'm just here to make you pay...." "For what?" "For hurting Scoots!" The mare started laughing uncontrollably. Scootaloo toke her attention away from the fight and focused on the colt on the ground not to far from this mare. Scootaloo toke advantage of this mare's distraction to go aid Rumble. Slipping past the mare easily, Scootaloo found herself next to Rumble. "Rumble?" Rumble glanced up at her, "Heh.... Hey Scoots." "Are you okay?" Scootaloo asked. "I'm fine," Rumble said getting to his hooves, "I saw Rainbow, so I played dead for a minute." "Come on Rumble," Scootaloo said taking his hoof, "We should get out of the war zone." "Your probably right," Rumble said following Scootaloo. "Now," Rainbow said, "let me teach you a lesson..." The mare looked her, "how could you care for such a worthless filly?" "She's not worthless!" Rainbow spat. "Really? A Pegasus that can't fly? Not worthless? I'll believe it when I see it." Rainbow Dash was now glaring at this mare. Scootaloo watched in horror, waiting for the first fist be be swung. A shiver went down her spine as Rainbow looked about ready to lurch at this mare. Rainbow stopped and look towards her and Rumble. "Rumble, take Scoots home," Rainbow said. "Yes madam," Rumble said grabbing her hoof, "Come on Scoots.... We need to go." Rumble started off running with Scootaloo, once he got around a corner he glanced back to make sure the mare wasn't chasing them. "Scoots, I think I'm gonna fly you home." "Alright Rumble," Scootaloo said. Rumble grabbed Scootaloo and started towards the sky, staying below the buildings so they couldn't be easily spotted. Rumble soon found Rainbows house in the distance. Good... He thought, moving faster towards the house. He was just about to land, when something blurred by causing Rumble to tumble backwards and almost drop Scootaloo. He spotted the source of this blur. "Dammit, Rainbow, I could have dropped Scoots!" He spat bitterly. He turned his gaze to Scootaloo, fear coved her face. "Sorry, I was going to fast to sto-" Rainbow also turned her gaze to Scoots. She was now shivering. Rumble landed on Rainbow's porch, and started to loosen his grip only to have Scootaloo grip him tighter. "Scoots.... What's wrong?" ..... "Scoots, come on talk to me." Silence. Rumble began to panic. Looking down at Scootaloo, he noticed tears starting to stream down her face, and her grip tightened even more. Rumble stared at her for a moment confused. He hugged Scootaloo saying anything to calm her down. "It's okay Scoots, your safe," he repeated but to no avail. Her grip costly tightening on Rumble. Rumble, giving in, simply wrapped his hooves around Scootaloo. With time Scootaloo began to calm down and her crying to into muffled sniffs. Soon she broke the embrace with Rumble. "I'm gonna go..." She said. "Okay...." Scootaloo entered the house leaving a confused Rumble behind her. Rumble stared at the door for a minute. Then he turned his gaze to Rainbow Dash. "Is she... okay?" "She's fine, just met a family member she didn't want to see." "What?" Rainbow Dash gave Rumble annoyed look. "Your really dumb sometimes." "Well then..." "Rumble, a mare, knows Scootaloo, acts like she owns her, and abusive, put two and two together Rumble," Rainbow said bitterly. "Ooohh," Rumble said. "Anyways, I gotta go calm down Scoots before she has anther episode." "Alright then." Rumble said as he flew off towards home. I'm always her for you, ScootsRumble was walking towards school when he noticed Scootaloo, looking upset. He started towards here only for her to look at him and speed away. "SCOOTALOO WAIT!" "Can't talk now, Rumble," She said. Rumble stood there for a minute, before starting to chase Scootaloo, but to no avail. By the time he took the sky, Scootaloo was long gone. Sighing Rumble began to now fly to school, trying to find Scootaloo mostly. Soon the school came into his vision. He landed at the front door of the school. He turned around to see if Scoots was anywhere near by. Nope... he thought as he turned around to enter the school, Alright, lets get this over with. A week has passed and Rumble hasn't even talked to Scootaloo, she's been acting distant to everypony. She sits in the back of the room. Tries here hardest not to talk or interact with anyone. Today it ends, Rumble thought, Once school gets out she's gonna talk whether she wants to or not. After what felt like forever school ended. Rumble dodging kids to beat Scootaloo to the door. He succeed. He waited for her. Soon she appeared at the front of the door. She started to rush towards to her Scooter. Not today, Rumble thought he landed between her and the scooter. "Hey Scoots," He said, "let's talk." Scootaloo stood there for a minute, "I don't want to," she said attempting to push Rumble. "Come on, talk to me," he begged. "Just move already!" Scootaloo spat. "Not until you talk." Scootaloo shoved him with enough force to send him tumbling backwards. She hopped on her scooter and went full speed to... somewhere. NO! Rumble thought, flying after her. Rumble chased her for a good ten to twenty minutes. Soon, Scootaloo found herself in an alley... trapped. "Alright Scoots," Rumble said between deep breathes, "talk." "No...." "Scoots..." No.... No... NO!" "Calm down," Rumble said taking a step towards Scootaloo, "just tell me what's wrong." "Please...." Scootaloo said tears forming in her eyes, "just leave...." Rumble sat down next to her, "It's okay, Scoots.... I'm here to help." "I-I-I don't need it," Scootaloo said starting to sniffle. "Please," Rumble said, "Tell me what's wrong." Scootaloo let out a depressed sigh, "O-o-okay." "There we go," Rumble said encouragingly, "you'll feel better once you tell somepony." "I'm scared," Scootaloo started, "my mom is here and she wasn't much better than my dad." Scootaloo voice started to crack, "I don't want to have to face anther one of my parents again, Rumble, I just don't," Scootaloo said tears starting to flow from her eyes. Rumble wrapped his wing around her, only for her to pull him to an embrace. Rumble wrapped his hooves around her. "It's okay Scoots." "No its not," She said, burring her face into Rumbles shoulder. "I'm here.. I promise I won't let her hurt you," he said in attempt to calm her. "Don't make promises you can't keep," She said through his fur. Rumble tightened his grip a little, "I will keep it." Scootaloo started to sob. "I just... want it to end. I want it to go away." "I know," Rumble said gently. Things seemed to be working. Scootaloo was now calming down. Slowly she stopped crying, only a few sniffles here and there. She lifted her head from Rumble's shoulder. She gave him a small smile. "Thanks, Rumble I-" She paused. "Your welcome," Rumble said softly, "come on let's go." Scootaloo nodded. "Okay, just let me grab my scooter." Rumble nodded. Scootaloo grabbed her scooter, and they started to walk out of the alley they were in. Rumble looked towards Scootaloo. She still was sniffling and it was clear that she just cried. Rumble slowly wrapped his wing around Scootaloo. She gave him a thankful smile. "Thanks... again," She said. "Don't mention it," Rumble responded. Soon the day came to an end. Scootaloo and Rumble just walked around town talking about anything to keep them distracted, but sadly they had to go their separate ways. "I gotta get going," Scootaloo said, "I'll see ya tomorrow." "Goodbye Scoots," Rumble said, "but just remember." "Hm?" "I'm always here for you, Scoots." I don't wanna dieScootaloo just started to walk home. She took her time trying to recall today's events. A small smile on her face as she thought of what happened just a few moments ago. Her day-dream was interrupted by a small voice. "Now Scoots," It said. "Hu-" She stopped. Her eyes went flat against her head. "NO GO AWAY!" "No...." Her mom said, "say good-bye." Scootaloo broke off in a run to anywhere, but to no avail. Her mom easily caught her. She took a blade from out of here pocket. Scootaloo started to back up. "P-p-please j-just let me g-g-go." Her mom started to smirk, "No Scoots," she said, "You've been a problem way to long." Scootaloo gulped, "Just have to leave, and never see me again," she said hopefully. "And let you live," her mom said flatly, "I think not." Scootaloo thought of running, but soon realized she was trapped. Her mom backed her into a wall. Then she brought the knife to Scootaloo's neck. Scootaloo started to cry. Her mom brought her hoof to Scootaloo's chin forcing her to look up. A shiver went down Scootaloo's spine at what she saw. Her mom was smiling an insane smile at her. She shot her gaze back down to the ground and closed her eyes, and waited for the blade. "I see your ready to die," her mom said. "J-j-just m-make it quick, please," Scootaloo begged. "Heh, I'll make it slow as I can," her mom responded. Suddenly Scootaloo felt a strong weight on her head before she felt nothing. At least she made it quick.... Scootaloo thought. .... Scootaloo awoke, only to find herself tied to a wood board of sorts. She looked around. She was in some kind of room, it was dark. Then she heard a voice. "Good your awake." Scootaloo looked up to see her mom just insight. "Mom, just let me go." Suddenly there was a blinding light. Scootaloo closed her eyes to avoid going blind. Slowly she opened her eyes adjusting to the light. Her eyes widen as she realized where she was. This was her old home.... Where her dad use to live. A shiver went down her spine. "Now," Her mom said, "I have to go get supplies, I'll be back." She walked up to Scootaloo and put duck tape over her mouth. She started to squirm to try to loosen the rope, but to no avail. She looked back at her mom. Once again she was wearing that insane smile. Scootaloo started to cry. Her mom's smile only got bigger. "Got anything to say?" Her mom asked. It was muffled by the duck tape, but it was easy to tell what she said. "I don't wanna die..." "To bad," Her mom said evilly, "Now I gotta go get some supplies." And with that Scootaloo was alone. So your gonna have toScootaloo looked around the room that she was in. Most of it was dark, but there we're a few things that she could see. She soon realized that this was her old living room. She gave an anther look around and saw something move. It must be my head.... She thought staring in the direction she thinks it fled to, Yeah... Just my head. For a few more moments she trying to prove herself wrong. Nothing moved in the hallway. She looked away and waited for what she was her soon to be death. After what felt like what forever, she heard the front door open. She didn't even bother bringing her head up. She knew who it was. Who else could it be? "Glad to see your happy," came her mom's voice. "Shut up." "What did you say to me?" Scootaloo looked at her mom square in the eye, "I said 'shut up.'" Scootaloo's mom got an angry look, then one of insanity, which made Scootaloo cringe. Her mom looked at her and started to faintly laugh. "Oh, I'm going to enjoy making you suffer," she said. Scootaloo knew she wasn't gonna make quick either way so she figure to at the least insult her before she had her mouth taped shut or something. "What ever you say Ms. Bitch." "Aren't you full of great comebacks today," her mom said flatly. "Why, yes I am," Scootaloo said sarcastically. Her mom smirked, "I got an idea. How about I let you fight me?" Scootaloo rolled her eyes, she knew her mom had the advantage. Not only her size, Scootaloo she was the one that was going to fight with a knife. "Very well." "Excellent," her mom said. Scootaloo once again saw something move in the corner of her eye, but she didn't focus on it she had bigger problems then a rat or something to worry about. Her mom released her from her table. "Ready to die," her mom said evilly. "I don't wanna die..." Scootaloo said simply, "so your gonna have to...." "Yeah, what ever you say," her mom said, "now lets..." Her mom glanced and realized she was missing something vital... her knife. "DAMMIT I MUST OF LEFT IT IN THE CAR!" she grabbed scootaloo and tied one of her hooves to wood platform that held she moments ago. "I'll be back." "I'll be waiting." Scootaloo watched her mom go outside, then she heard a voice. A voice she didn't wanna hear her. "Scoots?" Scootaloo glanced at the source, "You shouldn't be here." "Yeah... well I am," the voice said walking from the darkness. Lets hope tomorrow will be better"Well you shouldn't," Scootaloo said bitterly. "I'm only here to help," the figure said. "Just, go Rumble," Scootaloo said, "I don't need you getting hurt." "Yeah... right...." Rumble said walking from outside the darkness. "Hurry, run before my mom comes back," Scootaloo said sadly. "Don't worry, Scoots.... I'm ready for her," Rumble said revealing a knife in his hoof. Scootaloo's eyes widen in shock, "W-where did you get that?" "This table," Rumble said pointing to the table which had all of Scootaloo's mom "Supplies." "Alright, then," Rumble said, "Let's get you out of here." Then Scootaloo heard a noise, the sound of a car starting. She must think she left at the store or something, Scootaloo thought. Rumble walked up to Scootaloo. She stood there silently as he began to cut the rope that was preventing her to escape into freedom. After a few seconds or minutes the rope broke from Scootaloo's arm. She rubbed removing the pain of it being so tight. "You okay?" Rumble asked. "I'm fine," Scootaloo replied, "We should really get out of here before my mom comes back." "Yeah, we probably should," Rumble said looking at the hallway, "Follow me." "Okay." Rumble slowly made it to the room that he used to get into the house. "Here it is," he said pushing he's hoof against the door, which caused it to open. "Alright, Scoots let's go." "Wait, Rumble," Scootaloo said. "Hm?" "Why didn't we take the front door?" Scootaloo asked. "Well, Scoots," Rumble said, cool ponies don't use doors." "Rumble... Now is not the time for jokes..." "Alright fine," Rumble said flatly, "If we go from the side there's less of a chance of your mom seeing us." Scootaloo cringed, "R-r-right." "You okay?" "Y-y-yeah I'm fine." "You sure about that?" Rumble asked turning to her. Scootaloo nodded, "Yeah, fine." There was a sound of a car. "Shit, RUN!" Rumble said. Scootaloo nodded and followed Rumble and suit noticing the screaming and hoof hitting grass sounds coming from behind her. "Quick!" Rumble said grabbing Scootaloo, "Don't squirm!" "O-o-okay," Scootaloo managed. Rumble jumped into the air and landed on a cloud. Scootaloo crawled off his back and they avoided the edges of the clouds to ensure that her mom would not find them. Slowly Rumble started to keep vigil on the ground below for any sign of Scootaloo's mother. He didn't see her in the time he was looking. He looked back at Scootaloo and saw, Scootaloo.... With a nervous look in her eye and her lip was starting to tremble. "Scootaloo?" ..... "SCOOTS!?!" Scootaloo let out a startled squeak, "W-w-what Rumble?" "What's wrong?" "Nothing." "Lies..." "It's not a lie!" Scootaloo scream. She quickly threw a hoof over her mouth. "You seem pretty jumpy to be okay," Rumble said taking a step closer to Scoots. "Fine," Scootaloo said, "I'm scared... big.... deal." Rumble rolled his eyes, "Your safe now," he said somewhat softly. "Yeah... For now," Scootaloo said flatly Rumble noticed Scootaloo's ears go flat on her head and she looked down. "Don't worry... You'll be fine.... I promise..." Scootaloo glared up at him for a few moments before it softened. "Thanks...." Rumble sat down next Scootaloo. "Just try not to think about what happened." "Easier said then done," Scootaloo said. "Your right," Rumble said, "Maybe you should sleep. That would take your mind off things." To Rumbles surprise Rumble curled up into a ball on the cloud and went to sleep. "Um... Do you want me to take you home?" "No, here is fine," Scootaloo said. Rumble let out a sigh he wasn't about to leave this filly be alone when she is out in the open. He slowly laid down next to Scootaloo. And once again he was shocked. Scootaloo wrapped her hooves around Rumble's neck and fell into a deep slumber. Rumble couldn't resist a smile. Let's hope tomorrow will be better... A new targetRumble woke up. Slowly his eyes opened and he found himself look at Scootaloo still sleep. Cute, he thought. Rumble stood there for a few more moments before deciding to wake up Scootaloo. He slowly began to nuzzle Scootaloo's side. She squirmed a bit before she finally opened his eyes. "Hey, Rumble," Scootaloo said rubbing her eyes. "Good morning," Rumble replied smiling slightly. "So, Rumble?" Scootaloo said. "Yes?" Rumble replied. "What... now?" "Well, Scoots," Rumble said, "first you should probably get you home, and.... Well maybe show everypony your okay?" Scootaloo stared at Rumble for a few moments, "Well lets keep the fact I'm okay a secret... Okay?" Rumble nodded. He couldn't blame her for wanting to be hidden from the world for maybe a short while. "If that's what you want." "Thanks, Rumble," Scootaloo said with a small smile. Rumble gave a half-hearted smile back, "Come on, lets get you home." Taking Scootaloo was what Rumble expected. She was quiet most of they way and only said a few things. They reached Scootaloo's home, sappy moments ect... ect.... ect..... Rumble was now on his way home. Slowly his house came into to view. He went inside his house and nobody was home. Odd, he thought as he sat down on the couch. Soon he felt his eyes become heavy. Slowly but surely he fell asleep. Rumble had Scootaloo in a few hours. Nothing really exciting or worth his while happened. Of course he got a lecture about he should have been home and not out all night, and how everybody was worried about him. Rumble was going to tell them why, but, figured it would be better off not tell them yet. They already know Scootaloo's farther was abusive. They didn't need to know her mom was chasing after her. He slowly crawled down stairs to eat breakfast. Soon he was into his same old get-ready-for-school route. After awhile he was out of his house and on his way to school. As he walked out he noticed his brother slip into bush. Rumble rolled his eyes. On his way to school he run into Scootaloo. They walk and talk most of the way to school. Scootaloo seemed so happy, after all she's been through, Rumble figured she would be upset. Of course Rumble didn't mention anything about the kidnapping. He knew Scootaloo didn't want to talk about it and he wasn't gonna make her. "So, Scoots?" Rumble said. "Yes?" She replied "Remember when you said you would tell what was on your mind on... Saturday?" "Er...Um..." She said "You don't?" Rumble asked. "Oh..." Scootaloo said quietly. "You do?" "Yeah...." "You wanna tell me?" "Rumble... Not right now... Please..." Rumble sighed, "Alright..." Scootaloo nuzzled him, "Thanks, Rumble." "Your... Welcome," Rumble managed trying to hide his face. Scootaloo rolled her eyes, "Rumble just cause you don't show your face doesn't mean I won't know your blushing." "I guess," Rumble said, still hiding his face. "Come on, Rumble," Scootaloo said grabbing his hoof, "We're going be late for school!" "More of a win in my book," Rumble said. "What ever you say Rumble... What ever you say." Rumble and Scootaloo hurried to school unaware of a pair of eyes watching. They boy... I have to get rid of him to get to Scootaloo. I have to... Scootaloo's mom thought, Time to kill two birds with one stone. What do when you can't fix a problem?Scootaloo sat quietly in her desk. Slowly she let her head rest on the top of the desk. Her eyes began to feel heavy. She was about to fall asleep, but a voice startled her back into reality. "SCOOTALOO!" the voice said. "Huh...?" Scootaloo said lifting her head up slowly. "What do you think your doing?" Cheerily asked. "I'm-" Scootaloo paused, "Never mind." Cheerily rolled her eyes, "I'll speak with you after class," she said. Scootaloo gave a slow nod. Great... she thought, just what I needed. Slowly timed ticked by. Sometime later school was over. Scootaloo looked behind her to see Rumble starting to gather up his stuff. She remained where she was. Rumble gathered up all his stuff and walk towards Scootaloo and whispered, "I'll be outside." Scootaloo nodded. Once everybody was out of the classroom she heard Cheerily speak, "Scootaloo, come here." "Yes ma'ma." "Now, tell me what's wrong?" Cheerily asked. "Nothing," Scootaloo responded. Cheerily gave a long stare and waited for Scootaloo for to talk. She didn't. "Very well," Cheerily said, "you may go." With that Scootaloo stared walking towards the door and about bumped into Rumble who was waiting. "Dammit, sorry Rumble," She said. "It's okay," came Rumble's response, "We should get going." Scootaloo gave a slow nod and began to follow Rumble to where ever they were going. Slowly Rumble and Scoots arrived at the park where so much has happened. "Here we are," Rumble said aloud. "I guess." "You guess?" "Yes, Rumble I guess." Rumble rolled his eyes, "Clearly." Scootaloo went and sat down next the same tree she always has. Slowly she relaxed and closed her eyes. "Try not to fall asleep," came Rumble's voice. "No promises," She replied. Scootaloo opened one eye. A hoof just touched her. Slowly she looked up to she Rumble looking over her. "It's getting late," Rumble said, "you should probably get home." "Yeah," Scootaloo said, "You right. She slowly started to get up. As she was walking she notice Rumble start to follow her. "Rumble?" "Yes?" "Could just head home?" "Are you sure." "Rumble, I'll be fine." Rumble gave a slow nod. "Right," and he turned around and headed in the opposite direction. Scootaloo sighed. He actually did it, she thought, He let me walk home alone. She gave a small smile. Soon here house was a few yards away. Then something that she figure would happen, happened. Here mom came out. "Hey Scoots." Scootaloo sighed, "Hey mom." Her mom didn't have a knife or a weapon which worried Scoots. Her mom slowly gazed up at her. "Scootaloo," her mom said, "What do you do when you can't fix a problem?" "You um...." Scootaloo remained silent. Her mom gave a smile, "You get rid of it." Scootaloo's blood ran cold, "So your gonna kill me?" "Oh, no... I have a new target," her mom said, "but don't worry I will get to you." Scootaloo gulped, "Who's this target?" Her mom started to laugh, "you know him," she said simply then she started to walk away. Scootaloo made a run for her house and didn't stop until she got to her door. Once their she ran into her room and locket the door. Slowly she started to think about what she said. She couldn't have meant... Scootaloo shook her head, No she couldn't Slowly she began to close her eyes and she fell asleep, somehow. Unaware of who her mom was after... and why.... NO!Scootaloo awoke. It was the weekend. God dammit, she thought, What am I suppose to do? All she could really think about right now was her strange encounter with her mom a few days ago. Slowly, but surely she made her way out of bed and into the outside. "Scoots?" Scootaloo turned her head to see Sweetie Belle looking at her. "Yes?" "What are you doing up so early?" "I-" Scootaloo looked up towards the sky and realized that the sun was just starting to rise. "I'm just going to go for a ride... on my Scooter.... Yeah..." "Alright, let me ask that question again," Sweetie said annoyed, "What are you doing up so early?" Scootaloo rolled her eyes. "I'm not in the mood Sweetie." Sweetie Belle opened her mouth to protest, but, slowly she closed it. Letting out a sigh she gave a small nod. "Very well." And with that she stalked off into the distance. Scootaloo waited for Sweetie to leave her vision before she hopped on her scooter, Now... Where to go? Where to go? she thought as scanned the area around her. With a small shrug she set off into the direction of town. Unaware of a set of eyes watching her in the distance. Rumble slowly stocked down stares. Slowly he made he made his way down stairs and of course wished he could just curl back into a ball and sleep. He stopped at the stair case by his brother. "What do you want Thunderlane?" Rumble said disinterested. "You're not staying in this house today," Thunderlane said getting straight to the point. "Is that so?" Rumble replied with a bit of challenge in his voice. His brother gave him an annoyed look, "You're going outside and doing something, anything," he said flatly. "That's not ha-" Rumble was interrupted by his pushing out the door. Rumble fought back, but to no avail. Rumble was forced out the door which was shut and locked behind him. "FUCK YOU TOO!" Rumble said, before spreading his wings and shooting into the sky leaving his house in his wake. Rumble gazed annoyed at the ground. Scanning it for anything, anything to do at all. With a loud angry sigh he flopped into a cloud giving up hope to find anything to do. Slowly he crawled up. This is bullshit, he thought glaring at the cloud. He needed to hit something so he did. Next thing he knew there was a big hole through the cloud. "Hey!" Rumble gazed down to the ground. He realized he let a portion of the cloud disperse over Scootaloo, "Sorry!" He shouted back. "Sorry doesn't dry me," Scootaloo said flatly. Rumble slowly flew down and landed next to Scootaloo. "How can I help?" "You can start by making sure no one is under a cloud when you break it," Scootaloo grumbled. Rumble avert his gaze to the sky, "Hey, Scoots?" "Yeah?" she responded starting to shake that water off her body. "Why are you up so early?" Rumble asked turning his gaze back to Scootaloo. "I can ask you the same question." Scootaloo said. "My brother kicked me out," Rumble said flatly. "Serves you right," Scootaloo said, "Next time don't get me wet." "I said I was sorry," Rumble said sadly. Scootaloo rolled her eyes, "Hey Rumble wanna hang out?" she said trying to change the subject. Rumble eyes perked up, "Sure, why the hell not." After a what felt like an hour their day together came to a close. All they really did was talk. Scoot's tackled him for making a joke that as aimed at her. But other than that nothing too exciting or shocking happened. "Yeah, you right, Rumble," Scootaloo said looking skywards, "I should probably head home." Slowly Scoots got up from where she was sitting and started to head for home. She was only left the park when something pressed against her shoulder and a voice that sounded frighted and urgent said "OHMYGOSH!" Scootaloo jumped and let out a startled yelp. Rumble laughed all the while. "Oh, that was to easy," he said wiping a tear from his eye. "YOU LITTLE SHIT!" Scootaloo screamed jumping at him. Rumble for once let Scootaloo tackle him to the ground, "Okay you caught me," Rumble said, "Now what are going to d o?" Rumble challenged smirking. Scootaloo pulled her hoof back, but stop. Slowly Scootaloo got off his back. "Giving up already?" Rumble teased. "...." "You okay Scoots?" "She's fine, but you won't," came a voice. Rumble knew this. He looked at Scoots. She was froze, She's that frighted of- Rumble turned around and realized that their was a knife just inches away from his neck and in the mare's other hoof was a sack or pillow case of sorts. Rumble let out a scream of terror. Scootaloo recovered from her frozen state in time to see Rumble throw into the sack. "STOP!" Scootaloo screamed jumping towards her mom. It was a bad idea Scootaloo's mom easily threw Scootaloo to the ground. Scootaloo's vision began to swam. Slowly black circles formed in her vision. Her mom smirked. Slowly the the black circles became bigger and slowly engulfed her. That last thing she managed to say was, "NO!" FearScootaloo eyes slowly drifted open. What am I doing here? she thought. She couldn't seem to remember anything. Why am I outside? Why is it so late? Where Rumble? Why hasn't Rainb- Then it hit her. It startles the filly of how fast it happened. Rumble was kidnapped, my mom did, and I was knocked out.... Scootaloo felt tears fall down her face. What if I'm too late? What if she already killed Rumble? Scootaloo became frustrated. She need to think straight if she was going to come up with a strategy. "DAMMIT!" She said to no one in particular. Her gaze shifted towards the sky. With a depressed sigh she fell back down to the ground. "Dammit, Rumble, how did your dumb plan work," she muttered to herself. She knew good and well that Rumbles plan of grab and run won't work with her. She stood there what may have been a few moments, but to her felt like forever. Then it clicked. "I GOT IT!" She screamed. She gazed of into the direction of her old house. It'll have to be quick... Rumble squirmed, screamed, hell even bite, but to no avail. This mare wasn't letting go, atleast not easily. Then he felt a sudden weight on his head. He didn't know what it was, nor did he have time to figure out. Within a few seconds he was swallowed in darkness. Rumble felt some thing wet come in contact with his head. He shot upright... or tried. His gaze shifted to a table in which he was tied to. Thick rope, he thought giving his hoof a tug. Soon a shadow came over his body. "Good your awake," said a voice from somewhere in the shadows. "What do you want from me?" Rumble said annoyed. "Nothing really, just your life," The voice spat back. Rumble felt a shiver go down his spine, but ignored it, "then take it," he said flatly as he could manage. "Not yet, we have a guest that's going to watch." "And who would that guest be?" Rumble said nervously. "Your stupid worthless fillyfriend," the voice spat. Rumble noticed the voice was getting louder.... or coming closer, but he shook the fear aside. "She's NOT worthless!" Rumble screamed. The mare stepped out of the darkness and placed a gag over his mouth. "Shut up you fool." Scootaloo's mom spat. The mare turned away and started filing through things rumble could not see. "Now," the mare said pulling out a dull knife, "Lets have some fun." Rumble gulped as a smile spread across the mares face. Scootaloo stood in her house yard. She gulped. Fear. The most powerful emotion. "Maybe I should- No Scoots stay brave," he muttered Even more powerful then love "Now, lets get this ready," Scootaloo said moving towards a window that leads into her room. An emotion that drives us to lie, to attack... to kill. Slowly, Scootaloo slipped into her room. She took careful steeps to her bed until she was right next to it. She did a quick pan around her room. And most of the time, fear gets the best of us. "Alright," She muttered reaching under her bed,"Here goes nothing." This ends now!Scootaloo slowly and carefully walked out her room. Once the door was closed behind her, she look towards the hallway ahead of her. She was about to take her first step when she heard a scream, a scream of pain. Scootaloo knew that scream, it was Rumble's . She about charged straight into the living room, but stopped herself. I have to be careful she thought taking a gentle step forward. There was anther scream, and once again Scootaloo wanted to give the one element she has on her side, or hoped she has. She finally reached the end of the hallway. She had herself pressed to a wall. Once she as close she listened as her mother began to speak. "Having fun?" Her mom said in a joyful tone. Rumble said nothing, he just simply looked at the two cuts which were on his stomach. Its was an x shape. "Your marking me?" He blurted out. "No," She said forcing her hoof at the center point of the, which caused Rumble to whimper, "I was thinking I would rip out your organs or something, but I didn't cut deep enough." She said in flat tone. Scootaloo stood froze. She felt tears began to fall from her face, as shook violently. Then she heard her mom speak and her heart sank. "Ah, our guest is finally here. Scootaloo please step out the hallway." Dammit. she thought. There was nothing she could do she stepped out out from her hiding spot quickly shoving something into her mane. "Hey mom," Scootaloo said as disinterested as she could summon. "Hey Scoots," her mom said in a wicked tone. Scootaloo aimed her attention towards Rumble. He had a sicken and fearful look. Most of his stomach was covered in blood. Scootaloo let out a terrified squeak. "Great isn't it?" her mom said looking toward Rumble. "He didn't squirm much so I didn't make any mistakes." She sounds so proud... Scootaloo noted. "So thats it?" Scootaloo spat, "Your just gonna kill Rumble and expect to get away with it?" "Like you can stop me?" Her mom countered, advancing towards her. Scootaloo took a step back trying to hide her back mane from her mom. She made a mistake. "You won't get away with this scootaloo swore." "What's that in your fur?" her mom asked. Scootaloo froze. quickly she placed a hoof over her neck. Which had a small mic. Shit. "And what's that in your ear?" Meanwhile outside There stood two cops. Not trying to make themselves known only two went. They hid in bushes and told Scootaloo what to do and how to do it. Then they heard it "What's that in your fur?" They looked at each other. They became nervous. They were caught. The cop closest to the door spoke into a mic attached to his shirt. "Scoots stall for as long as you can we're getting back up." Back inside Scootaloo's mom grew an angry look. "You went to the police I see." "Why did you think it took me too long?" Scootaloo challenged. Her mom lost it and began to charge at her. Scootaloo acted swiftly and dodged. She ran behind the table and was right next to Rumble. She moved fast taking out a knife and sitting it on the floor. Before charging into the hallway with her mom hot in her pursuit. Rumble looked down Does she expect me to cut myself free? he thought as he attempting to kick the knife up with his back hoof. Shit. He gaze up to see Scootaloo charge at him. she dived for the knife and acted quick. taking the knife in her mouth and placing it in Rumbles. "Good luck," she whispered before disappearing back into the hallway. Rumble smiled. In the hallway. Scootaloo trotted back into her bedroom. With her mom hoof being stuck in a wall in the bathroom she had to act quick. She opened her window mumbled into the mic "My window is opened try to enter through there." She darted out of her room. She was about to enter the living room to see how Rumble was doing when she heard a scream. She acted as fast she could dodging the blade as it cut a small portion of her front hoof. The knife dug deep into the carpet. Scootaloo acted quick storming into the living room. Her mom acted to fast for. It took her no more than a second to rip the knife right out of the carpet, despite the fact of how deep it was. She managed to hit Scootaloo's back hoof which sent her at an angle. Scootaloo slammed into a wall. "Ow..." she mumbled. When she recovered her mom was on top of her. A blade dangling just a few inches from her muzzle. She heard a voice from her little ear bud. It said "We're coming in." Shit... she thought as her mom leaned into her neck and said, "If you take one step in, I'll slit this filly's thought. understand?" Scootaloo braced herself for her end, but then she heard a voice from directly behind her mom. "THIS ENDS NOW!" Rumble screamed pressing the knife she gave him around her mom's neck. No...."RUMBLE! TIME FOR SCHOOL!" Thunderlane shouted. "Ugh.... Five more minutes..." Rumble responded. "No! Get up now!" "Fine... fine..." Rumble said bitterly. He started to crawl out of bed and get ready for the day. Friday... He thought, that's good. Slowly he made his way down stairs. He ate breakfast, fixed his hair, grabbed his bag, and headed towards school. About half way he ran into Scootaloo. "Oh, hey Rumble," She said softy. "Hey, Scoots." "We should probably get to school." She spoke. "Good idea." Soon they we're in deep conversation. They seemed to be the only two things in the world, everything seemed to fade into nothing. "So, Scoots...." "Yeah?" "You two are late," A voice came from nowhere. The looked up to see Cheerilee. "Sorry..." they said. "It doesn't matter just go to class." "Well now that school is over..." Rumble said. "Hm?" Scootaloo responded. "Wanna hang out?" Rumble asked. "Sure," Scootaloo said. Soon, Scootaloo and Rumble were walking around talking about anything that came into their mind. Having find and enjoying each others company. They looked around and they found themselves at the park. "Well, I'm gonna go relax," Scootaloo said, "Your more then welcome to join me." "Sure." Rumble said taking a seat next to Scootaloo. "So... Um.... Rumble?" Scootaloo said a bit nervous. "Yeah...?" He responded. Scootaloo seemed to hesitate, "Never mind, it was stupid." "..... Tell me." "I said 'Never mind'" "I don't care tell me." Scootaloo got that hesitate look again, "It might surprise you..." "Fun.... Now tell me." Scootaloo looked at Rumble for a second "Er...." "Come on... Spit it out." Scootaloo leaned forward and kissed Rumble. He's eyes widened with shock. "There...." Scootaloo said. Rumble's face started burn red, "I wasn't expecting that..." "Heh.... I kinda figured," Scootaloo said shyly, "Sorry for making this awkward." "Its okay," Rumble said looking at Scootaloo. "Rumble..." "Hm?" "I have to go..." Scootaloo said softly. "Okay..." Scootaloo started walking away, then she stopped and turned around, "Rumble..." "Yeah..." "I-.... Never mind." Scootaloo said. "...." "I have to tell you later." "Okay." Rumble woke up the next day. Now, lets find out what Scootaloo wanted to say... He trotted outside. He started towards where Scootaloo lived. Suddenly he felt a weight push him to the ground. It was Rainbow dash. "Where... Is.... She..." "W-w-w-what?" Rumble responded. "WHERE IS SHE!" Rainbow screamed. "Where is who...?" "So you don't know." Rainbow said crawling off Rumble, "That... sucks..." "Uh?" Rainbow looked up at Rumble. It seemed like she was about to cry, "Scootaloo is... missing...." "No...."
Chapter 1"Hey Rumble!" Said Scootaloo.
"I gotta get going," Scootaloo said, "I'll see ya tomorrow." "Goodbye Scoots," Rumble said, "but just remember." "Hm?" "I'm always here for you, Scoots."
I don't wanna dieScootaloo just started to walk home.
That last thing she managed to say was, "NO!"
FearScootaloo eyes slowly drifted open. "Alright," She muttered reaching under her bed,"Here goes nothing."
This ends now!Scootaloo slowly and carefully walked out her room.
