If anyone ever asked who was the most responsible, amazing, and prettiest girl at Canterlot Academy, all the girls there would tell you it was Twilight Sparkle. Seventeen, black haired with a bit of a rebellious dye of purple to it, top of her class, and class president, it was no wonder why girls started calling her “Princess Twilight” her sophomore year. She was what every girl at that school wanted to be, and what every girl thought every guy wanted to date. But there’s more to this perfect girl than meets the eye. And a certain rainbow haired girl is about to find out. The other girl everyone at school couldn’t stop buzzing about was a girl they had dubbed “Wild One.” Standing at 5’7 and with the charming smile of a guy, every girl at Canterlot Academy couldn’t help but have a crush on her. Rainbow Dash was her name, and being the only truly sporty girl at the academy, she was constantly getting in trouble for making adjustments to her uniform. And as much attention as she got, she was completely oblivious to the fact. She, ironically, always thought she was unpopular. Since she had always been so tomboyish that no boys had ever had a romantic interest in her. As she walked through the halls, her green tie hanging loosely off her shirt with her crisp white dress shirt sleeves rolled up to her elbows, Rainbow frowned. Once again she had gotten in trouble for wearing her bike shorts under her skirt. It wasn't her fault, she rides her bike to school every day and riding it without them would be extremely painful. She sighed, making her way to the student council office. Her home room teacher is making her drop something off there as punishment. When she made it there, she rapped on the door and waited for a moment. When no one answered, she opened it to find the class president, Twilight Sparkle, kissing a.....dakimakura? “What the heck?!” Twilight spun around to find that suddenly she wasn't alone. “Ah, oh my! H-How much did you see?” She asked, blushing furiously. “Everything! What are you doing?!” Rainbow Dash barked. Twilight’s eyes darted around wildly, and before Rainbow knew it she was being shoved in, the door slamming shut behind her. “I-If I tell you, will you promise not to tell anyone else?” She asks, pulling on her hair. A promise? To the class president? What was Dash going to get out of it? “What’s in it for me?” Dash asked, her hand on her chin. “I’ll have every detention you have this week excused and you’ll get a spot on the student council.” “Alright. I’m listening.” Dash sighed, sitting down on the couch by the door. “I-I’m doing research.” Twilight explained, still blushing. “Research? For what? What kind of research would you need a dakimakura for?” Dash asked, leaning back on the couch. “For love. I’m doing research for love.” Twilight confessed. “Eh?!” Dash exclaimed. “Research for love?!” Twilight twiddled with her fingers. “Well you see, since this is an all girls school, and we aren't allowed to have boyfriends outside of school so I thought I would conduct my own experiments so that when I graduate I’ll be ready to interact with boys.” Dash stared at her for a moment before laughing. “You think spit swapping with a pillow is gonna get you a guy?” She said, after her laughter died down. “Well the books I’ve read said that I should practice!” Twilight said, defensively and a bit insulted. “Books?!” Dash repeated. “Yes, I’ve read several on the subject.” Now she was in tears. Rainbow felt bad for laughing at her but she couldn’t be the least bit serious! Reading books on love? An emotion? That was stupid beyond belief! “Since you think this is so funny, how do you suggest I go about this then?!” Twilight demanded. “If you want practice, you should come to me. I’m like, an expert.” Rainbow lies. She knew it was far from the truth, but she felt sorry for Twilight. “Really?” Twilight asked, excitedly. Then, her expression changed to one of ambivalence. “Really?” She repeats, more skeptically this time. “Yeah! I’m like so popular with guys! I have like, 5 ex-boyfriends.” Dash bragged. “That’s not exactly something you want to be bragging about.” Twilight said, folding her arms. “Well just know I know a lot about love and junk, okay?” Dash responded snappily. Twilight was taken aback by her change in attitude, but nodded. “Okay, but don’t you think it’d be odd for the class president and the class delinquent to start hanging out?” Rainbow thought for a moment. It would be something others would strike a conversation about. They were polar opposites, and to make matters worse, one of them had a reputation. “Yeah, I guess you’re right.  Which is why we don’t have anyone else in on this, okay?” “Deal.” Twilight responded, holding her hand out and smiling. Rainbow rolled her eyes before shaking it. “So, what’s the first experiment?” Twilight hummed in thought.”Well, I haven't covered first meetings yet.” Dash’s eyebrows furrowed. “First meetings?” “Yeah, like, I always imagined that when I met my first boyfriend I would be wearing a flowy dress and carrying an umbrella in the rain. And then my umbrella would break and he would come sweep me off my feet and take me home, holding me close to his chest!” “That’s a bit unrealistic don't you think?” “That’s how it happens in the movies.” Twilight responded defensively. “Yeah, thats unrealistic.” Dash deadpanned. “Okay, well how did you meet your first boyfriend?” Twilight then asked, turning towards her. “Pardon?” “How did you meet your first boyfriend?” Dash bit her cheek. She hasn’t even had one single boyfriend. She knew a lot of boys, but never actually dated anyone of them. She couldn’t let herself look like a complete liar though, even though she already was. “Uh, We, uh, met at the um, mall.” She finished. “The mall? What a convenient place to meet boys. What did he look like? Was he tall? Oh! What color were his eyes? Did he have black or brown hair?” Twilight hounded. Rainbow’s throat got dry. She was about to lie through her teeth and she knew it. “I-uh, he was tall. And he had bluish black hair. Also he runs track at his school.” She was describing her friend Soarin, who by any luck, would never run into Twilight. At least not without Dash being there. “Oh! You and him must have had so much in common!” Twilight chirped. “How was your first kiss?” “K-Kiss?” “Yeah, you two dated. You had to have kissed him.” “O-Of course I kissed him.” Rainbow assured. Albeit a little half heartedly “So?” “So what?” “How was your first kiss?” Twilight pressed. “It was...” Just as Rainbow was about to finish her sentence, the bell for the next period rang, literally saving her. “Uh, can we pick up on this after school?” she asked, gathering her things. “Uh, sure. I’ll be here.” Twilight said, smiling. Dash hastily grinned. “Great, see ya!” She called before bounding out the door.  As soon as it closed she smacked her forehead. What the hell did she just get herself into?
