Chapter 7
The Long Ride to A Mares Heart

I was bored, I'm gonna end up falling asleep which would be considered rude to most PEOPLE, so I'm guessing it was rude where I am. Fluttershy notices almost immediately, "um.... Rayne? Is, is something wrong?" I look up slowly so I didn't scare her away again ever since I looked into her eyes she has been avoiding me. She seemed to read my mind, I hated it when they did that, it felt like an insult to my brain. She looked downward "I'm sorry I have been avoiding you... I got scared the first time I saw you after looked at me like that, I'm sorry, really sorry..." She seemed about to continue on about how sorry she was, so I had to laugh. She seemed puzzled "are. Are you laughing at me?" She seemed on the brink of tears, I instantly switched emotions to more of a caring then a cheer up, she giggled a little "your a strange... Person."

I actually took that one straight in the heart. It's been so long since someone or... Somepony has called me a person. I started to well up with tears, the rest of the ponies were up in the cart ahead in the train so I didn't have to worry about being swelled by ponies because I was crying. "Oh my! Did I upset you? I'm sor--" I looked up surprised "no Fluttershy! You didn't upset me, it... It was just really nice for someone to call me a person after so long." She snatched my head and put it on her lap, from the amount of force behind the Pegasus I knew I had no choice but to lay there. The angle of where my head was I saw the other ponies looking through the window into our cart of the train, all of them giggling except Pinkie who was near the back of the group with Rainbow who also shared that look, the look of envy, she looked on the brink of tears till Twilight spun her head around and she put on a poker face, NICE. although I was still a little worried about her... This whole thought process only lasted about a second till Fluttershy tried to squeeze my head off, "oh you poor poor thing!"

She tried to fly away from the other ponies, but only managed to slowly set me on the ground. I had I nice idea, I was saving this for something special, Fluttershy was trying her hardest to make me feel better so I had to return the favor. "Fluttershy?"

"Yes Rayne?" She surprised me by not being her usual shy cute self but just being cute.

"I want to give you something I don't care if they watch but you have been most helpful during the transition between my world and here. I want you to have this" as I was talking I was rummaging through my two backpacks until I found it, it was a necklace I had given my previous girlfriend but I wasn't about to say that out loud... Plus she returned it through the mail... Ouch.

It was slightly simple, but all-in-all a nice necklace, it was a small monarch butterfly that had been incased in clear amber. I found it by my house and yanked it from the tree using my knife where I had it professionally polished and made into a necklace. She displayed multiple feeling at once, from what I understood it went: sorrow: the poor butterfly. Surprise: the gift. Rejection: she did this by turning her head to the back end of the carriage seeing if I was talking to someone else. And finally happiness and pride: together because SHE was chosen out of all her friends, and the kindness behind the thought. She tried to say something but was cut off by the (what sounded like hundreds of) gasps behind us, and in front of us, the ponies we didn't even know were turned around in there seats open mouthed at us.

OH SHIT. I noticed how I was positioned. I was on one knee.... Oh god... Then without anything else I thought: screw it, this is happening. Now. She knelt a little and I put the necklace around her neck, she used one hoof to lift the amber to her eyes. "Rayne... It's beautiful... But... Pinkie said she was yours!" I thought to myself I never said that but that's what they must have been talking about in the front before Fluttershy went to the back to sit with me. I looked back and Pinkie had her trash can mouth working its funniest, it was literally on the floor but she saw me looking at her, I looked at her with a complete apologetic look, she tried to draw her head away but then she looked back with a saddened and slightly defeated look and nodded, she approved. I looked back at Fluttershy, she had seen it too.

By now everyone was getting cramps from having there mouth open so long so they went back to there business but the 5 other ponies I knew (by the way if your wondering about Spike he's sound asleep in the bed in the carriage that has Twilight and them in it.) were in serious discussion, then without warning Fluttershy leaned up and kissed me! It wasn't spectacular or anything, and surprisingly her lips were just like human lips, soft, but it was sweet. She pulled back and started to apologize for kissing me I told her was okay, "don't tell my friends I kissed you yet okay? Can it be our secret?" I smiled "of course Fluttershy." I paused "but" she looked up expectantly "I hope you don't mind a plus one at your cottage I hear so much about." She about fell over if we weren't still hugging from the kiss she would have.

She seemed about to say something so I sealed the deal (because although I did like books Twilight wasn't my kinda house, Pinkies house seemed like a wave of streamers I couldn't take forever, and Applejacks family would press me to "become a member" of there family with Applejack which I did NOT wanna do) by kissing her right back, I tried to make the kiss make her happy as possible so she would shift her choice to my favor, her house was perfect, not far away like Applejack's, but then again not in the middle like Pinkie's plus as a added bonus it was almost alway quite and I have always gotten along with animals. I pulled back, which she almost fell on top of me from shear happiness. She laughed "I was going to say yes anyway!"

Freaking mind readers... "I have always liked your green eyes..." My what?! "What did you say?" She looked confused "your eyes have been green since you came here, is that bad?" I looked at her intensely. "What. Kind. Of green?" She thought for a moment then looked back up "like a light green, more like seaweed that I collect at the pond" I told her to stand back and I lit up a handful of fire sure enough, green. I was about to ask something when a screech hit my ears. She jumped up and landed with her wings out "we're here!"
