//-------------------------------------------------------// Silent Hill: The Equestrian Files -by Dragon Genesis- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Nightmares //-------------------------------------------------------// Nightmares       Ditzy shot up in her bed as the sound of screaming filled the house.  She ripped off her covers, running out of the room.  She ran into the wall on her way out due to the lack of light and her poor eyesight.        She finally reached her daughter, Dinky's room.  The small unicorn filly was flailing around her bed, her eyes scrunched tight.  Her screaming made Ditzy flatten her ears at the screeching volume.       Ditzy sat down on the edge of the bed and brought her daughter into a warm embrace, whispering soothing words into her ear in an attempt to calm her down fully.  After a few minutes, Dinky's screaming became quiet sobs as the filly nuzzled into her mother's breast in an attempt to expel the nightmares.        "Silent Hill again?" asked Ditzy, running her hand through her daughters go laden mane.  She nodded slowly, confirming her fears.  She scooped her up into her arms.  She took the crying filly out of her room and took her into her own.        Setting down her daughter, she made sure Dinky was sitting comfortably and was once again calm.  She turned on the small night light next to the bed and climbed in next to her daughter. She kissed her own the forehead and switched off the lamp.  Soon, sleep took the two into its embrace. ______________________________________________________________         "I seriously have no clue what the buck I should do." said Ditzy as she flew next to Rainbow Dash. Her and the cyan are had been together the past few months though they still had to tell Dinky.           Rainbow Dash had finished her cloud clearing early and decided to follow the mailmare as she did her rounds.          "How long has she had these?" asked Rainbow.  Ditzy sighed and shook her head.          "About six months.  They are starting to become every night and it doesn't matter if she sleeps alone or with me." said the mare as she pulled an envelope out of her sack and slid it into the awaiting mail box.          "Not much I can think of, Derpy." said Dash, using Ditzy's nickname.  "You could try driving to the town." she suggested.  Derpy raised an eyebrow at her.  "Well, you could just go there and see if it will help stop the nightmares or see if you can figureout what is causing them."         "Awesome, beautiful, and smart." said Ditzy with a smirk.  She leaned forward and placed a kiss on the blushing mare's lips.  Rainbow's blush deepened and he smiled stupidly as she scratched behind her head, causing Ditzy to giggle.  "Point proven."      "Hey, don't get to thankful until this plan works." said Rainbow, punching her arm playfully.  Derpy punched back and reached into her bag to find it empty.        "Well, I'm done.  I'm going to go head on home and prepare for the trip." said Derpy,   removing her bag and holding it in her hand.  She leaned forward and gave her marefriend a quick peck on the forehead.  "Later, beautiful." Derpy flew off towards the post office to drop off her bag before stopping by at the library to find a map to Silent Hill. ___________________________________________________________           "Oh, good morning Derpy, but we already got our mail." said Spike.  Ditzy raised an eyebrow until she looked down and realized she was still wearing her mail uniform.  Her hand was placed firmly on her face in a perfect face palm.         "No, I'm just here for a road map.  I got off a few minutes ago." said Ditzy, walking past the drake.         "Alright.  The maps should be over in that section.  You have a certain area in mind?" asked Spike, walking her over to said section.         "Yeah.  Silent Hill." she said, her one somewhat focused eye looking over the shelves as the other looked off in the other direction like normal.  Spike raised an eyebrow at her.          "Silent Hill?  That place has been abandoned for twenty years.  Why go there?" he asked as he searched the shelves for map to said town.  He found the map off to the far side and pulled it down.  He opened it to make sure it was the right one and tossed it to the grey Pegasus.  Derpy fumbled with it until she got a good grip on it.          "Kinda of a personal matter I want to fix up." she replied, folding the map and slipping it into her back pocket.  "Just a quick trip to try and fix all this then I will be back and things will be in somewhat resemblance of normal." she said, walking out the door.  "See ya, Spike!"          "See ya, Derpy!" he called out.  The door closed behind her as a finishing statement.  "Hey Twi!  What do we have on Silent Hill?" _______________________________________________________           Derpy packed the small backpack full of a few essentials.  She threw in a small first aid, a flash light, and few extra shirts.  Once she was finished, she sat down and rubbed her temples.         She opened her drawer and pulled out tan cargo pants and a faded grey tank top. She then opened her closet and pulled out a brown jacket.  She slipped her wallet into her back pocket and put the map into her jacket.         She grabbed her backpack and the one she packed for Dinky and placed them into the backseat of her truck.  She got into the front seat and slid the key into the ignition.  The engine whined as she turned the key until kicking to life.  She stepped on the clutch and brought into the first gear before pulling out into the street.         She stuck to the roads on the outside of town to avoid traffic and made it to the school house just as school was starting to get out.  She parked the pickup and waited for her daughter to walk out.           Once she saw Dinky, she gave the horn two quick honks, letting her know she was there.  Dinky looked towards the noise and waved to the three CMC she was with before running to the truck.          "Hey mom!" said Dinky cheerfully as she got into the backseat.  "Where are we going?" she asked, clipping in her seatbelt.  Derpy stepped on the clutch and brought the truck back into first gear and took off down the road.            "We are going to go to that town you're always talking about, muffin." she said, smiling into the rear view mirror so it was seen by the filly in the back.  Dinky shifted a bit.           "Why are we going, momma?"           "So we can try and figure out why you are having those nightmares and stop 'em."  The vehicle slowed slightly as Derpy went up a gear as the left town limits and down the highway.          Dinky pulled out her small coloring book and started to draw, busying herself for the drive ahead of them.  Derpy turned on the radio to one of the local station.  She sighed and kept her eye focused on the road. _____________________________________________________________          The sun had fallen as Ditzy drove along the cliff side. Dinky sat asleep in the backseat.  Ditzy made sure to turn down the radio enough that it did not disturb her sleeping daughter.          She yawned slightly from exhaustion.  She knew she was only a few miles away from the town but she wanted to stop for the night at the next town, finding it hard to keep going.          Static and a piercing screech emitted from the radio.  Ditzy's ears splayed back in annoyance.  She turned the tuning dial but got the same result.  She ended up turning it off completely.  She sighed in relief as the sound stopped.  She turned her attention to the road long enough to see someone standing in the middle of the road.         She swore and swerved, trying to avoid the figure. She  turned on the wheel to try to regain some semblance of control before she ran into a tree, knocking her unconscious.          She awoke a few hours later, her head pounding from the impact of the steering wheel.  She groaned as she rubbed a sore spot.  She pulled her hand away and was relieved that she wasn't bleeding.          She turned and saw that the passenger door was open wide.  Ditzy whipped around to find the backseat empty.          "Dinky!" she shouted, searching where she could from the driver's seat.  She grabbed her backpack and got out of the truck.  "Dinky!"  She ran forward, trying to locate her missing daughter.         A thick fog had fallen over the area, making it somewhat harder for her to see where she was going.  She scanned the area around her another time before shouting out Dinky's name as loud as she possibly could.          She stopped in front of a faded sign, the lights on the top no longer working.  The sign read 'Welcome to Silent Hill.' //-------------------------------------------------------// Silent Hill //-------------------------------------------------------// Silent Hill      "Dinky!" shouted Ditzy, hoping to get a response.  She attempted to get into the air, to try and spot her in the air.  She spread her wings and leaped into the sky.  Her wings froze up and snapped back to her sides, brining her back to the ground.       She groaned as she stood back up, back sore from the fall.  She brushed herself off and looked around her, taking in the state of the town.  The streets were abandoned and foggy. None of the buildings showed signs of life.         The buildings had smashed windows or doors and faded paint and signs.  The town had a eerie silence to it.  Her skin crawled in irritation and slight fear.  She didn't know what caused it but she didn't exactly want to find out.        She walked forward into the town, scanning the buildings for Dinky as well as the streets and the alleys.  She would occasionally call out her name, hoping for her to come out of one of the buildings.         She sighed and kept walking through the town.  It's empty feel slowly making her feel more anxious as she went forward.  The towns foreboding atmosphere did not help at all.        The shadow of a figure in the fog caught her attention.  The figure seemed to wearing the same type of clothing as Dinky as well as it looking like her.  Ditzy's spirits rose and she ran in the direction of the figure.         "Dinky!" she called out.  The figure ran away, going down an alley way filled with garages.  "Wait!"  She ran faster after the figure. The small filly was faster than her and kept a good distance between them.          The figure turned the corner and went through a gate, slamming it behind it. By the time Ditzy reached it, she was gasping for breath after having to run after the filly.  She opened the gate and gagged.           What looked like a dog was laying in a pool of blood and it's own fur and guts.  Said dog was skinned and gutted right there in the alley.  Ditzy could not stop the bile that rose and exited out of her mouth.  Her stomach clenched and more bile exited out of her system via her mouth.           When she was finished, she wiped off whatever bile was still on her mouth and stepped away from the dog and kept going.  She walked down the alley, staggering a bit after emptying her stomach.         There was a steady dripping of water somewhere as she continued, making the cramped alley more eerie.  It didn't help that it was getting increasingly darker as she continued.           Ditzy stopped and pulled out her flashlight and slipped it into her front jacket pocket that sat on her breast.  The light kept the area in front of her decently lit as she continued hands free.          It kept getting darker to the point where the only light came from her flash light, anything beyond it was non-existent.  It gave Ditzy a gut wrenching feeling as she continued.         She soon came to a line of fences.  She followed them and found them to make a path.  Following the path itself, she came to a small dead end.  She was almost glad that her stomach was empty when she reached there.          What looked like a pegasi with its wings ripped off hung on the fence in crucifixion style.  There were multiple lacerations on its body including one horizontal line across the stomach area, spilling out its insides.            Ditzy stepped away from it, not wanting to be anywhere near the body.  She ended up bumping into something.  Screaming, she turned around and found what looked like a foal.  It's face was covered and it's body was an eerie pale tan.  It twitched around, holding a knife in its hand.             She looked around and saw that she was surrounded by them.  She ran past the first one and attempted to go the way she came.            She raced down the path, wanting to get as far away from there as possible.  She kept running even though her legs and lungs burned.  She soon came to a dead end.            She shook the cage and screamed, wanting to escape.  She turned around with her back against the fence and saw the foal-like creatures coming towards her.  She closed her eyes and waited. ________________________________________________________________           Rainbow Dash knocked on the door belonging to the library.  She was wearing a pair of simple jeans and a cyan blue hoodie that had her cutie mark embroidered on it.  Derpy had given her it when they first started dating and she tried to wear it as often as she could.            Dash knocked on the door a second time, becoming impatient with the lack of answer.  She raised her hand to knock, and possible kick in, the door, when it opened to reveal a slightly annoyed Twilight.             "Rainbow, I thought you already had the whole Daring Doo series and it old you the new book won't be out for at least another year." said Twilight.           "It's not Daring Doo this time, promise.  I just need any books you have about a town called Silent Hill." she said, walking past Twilight and into the library.             "Spike is reading a few books on it.  I think he is upstairs." replied the librarian.  Dash said her thanks and flew up the stairs, stopping at the bedroom door and knocking.              "Come in." she heard a voice say.  Dash opened the door and found the dragon sitting at the desk in the corner, his head in a number of books.  Rainbow had to suppress a laugh as she found the scene ironic.               "You're starting to look like Twilight." she said with a smirk.  Spike lifted his claw and proudly showed her his middle finger.  "Maybe some other time, besides I have Derpy." she said, still smirking.  Spike sighed and shook his head.               "What are you doing here?" he asked, looking up from the amount t of books.  "I thought you went with her to this Silent Hill place?" he said.  Dash shook her head and walked up so she could see over his shoulder.               "Nope.  Just her and Dinky.  Look, I just came her to figure out what I can about Silent Hill."  she said, sitting down next to him.              "Alright.  I found out a few things but I'm not liking them." he started.  He picked up a heavy brown book and flipped it to a book marked page.  "According to this, Silent Hill has been abandoned for twenty years after and accident."              "What kind of accident."               "Well, it's a town mostly made up of earth ponies.  Their profit was the coal mine they had in the town.  It also had a rather large cult.  After a mining accident, there were heavy casualties.  Some of the fires still burn today.  After most of the town was evacuated, there were rumors that the cult created the problem and the higher ups just used the mines as an excuse.                 "But what disturbs me is how real this could be.  The heads of the cult were unicorns with a not so bright past and knowledge of the darker arts, some of it the shit Celestia banned for obvious reasons." He closed the book and turned to her.  "All the books say the same and you better hope they are wrong because you could have sent your marefriend to Equestria's version of hell on earth."  Dash started to rub her temples.                 "Fuck me." __________________________________________________________________________________________              Ditzy shot up on the seat, almost making her fall off it in the process.  She quickly looked around and was relieved to find herself alone and any foal-like monsters absent.  She sighed and fell back onto the seat she was on.               "What the fuck is wrong with this town?" she said to herself.               "Well, you're not the only one wanting to know."  Ditzy shot up again and whipped her head around.  Coming out from behind the counter of what looked like a cafè they were in, was a cyan unicorn with a blonde mane much like Ditzy's.  The mare had baby blue eyes and a smile that helped reassure a bit.               "I'm Civil Bennett.  I'm the police chief from the next town over, Brahms." said the mare, walking up to Ditzy.  She stuck out a hand that Ditzy shook.               "Ditzy Doo.  My friends call me Derpy because of my eyes.  I don't mind it."  Civil nodded.               "Well, Derpy, what brings you to the hell hole called Silent Hill?" asked Civil, sitting on one of the bar stools.               "My daughter.  We came here to try and fix her nightmares of this town.  Didn't expect to get in an accident and lose her in this place." muttered Derpy, glaring at the grime covered table like it was the sole reason they were stranded and Dinky missing.              "Look, as much as I want to stay and chat, I got to find a seven year old filly who probably can't use her magic." said Derpy, standing up and turning to the door.             "Derpy, wait!"  Derpy turned back to the police pony.  "Do you have a gun?" she asked.  Derpy slowly shook her head.  Civil reached to her belt and grabbed her handgun and the two clips that she usually carried.  "Take these.  Just aim and pull the trigger but only when you know what you are shooting at so you don't hit me.  The button to release the clip is on the side.  Just shove a new clip in and pull back on the slide."  Derpy grabbed the handgun and shoved it under her belt and nodded thanks.           "And just two more things."  Civil reached into her back pocket and pulled out a map, most likly of Silent Hill.  She then reached back down to her belt and gave her a walkie-talkie.  "You should be able to get around town with that.  And use the talkie if you need to contact me.  I'll run back to my car to grab my shotgun and other radio before I head out and find your daughter.  She should be the only other normal thing besides us."  Derpy nodded and shook her hand.          "This means a lot, Civil.  Just make sure if you find Dinky to take care of her before you find me." said Derpy, taking the other items and storing them away.         "No problem.  I'll see ya later, Derps."  With that, she walked out of the door, leaving Derpy standing there.  She took out the gun and looked at it before sighing.           "What the fuck did I get myself into Dash?"
