Echo stood silent as Crow and Sash marched along the line of fourteen ponies and a griffon. Echo let out a quiet yawn, she wasn’t used to being up this early and the rising sun burned her eyes. She poked her head out of the line and looked down the row of ponies. She stood next to a large, dark green earth pony by the name of Lightweight, who for the most part kept quiet, and a large brown and white griffon, Talon, who was the opposite to Lightweight and talked too much. Next to these two large bodies Echo felt very small and insecure.
“Ok then!” Crow yelled, finally breaking the silence, “I guess this would be a good time to address you guys and girls!” He marched by Echo and shot her a wink. “I think we got a strong team here and I believe with our team we can overcome any challenge we face!” Crow turned and began to march back down the line. “As many of you know from the layout plan I gave you yesterday we’ll be heading into the Badlands and the changeling capital.” The line stirred at the mention of changelings. “This will not be an easy task, we’ll need to keep on our hooves and if we’re not careful, the worst might occur. I’ve been to The Hive once before, so I do have a plan for when we get there.”
“Excuse me, Crow!” Spade called out from the line. Echo had met her the day prior, she seemed nice, a bit to obsessed with digging though.
“Question?”
“Yes, don’t most changeling cities have a barrier of some sort?”
“Yes, it does, but I know of a secret entrance to The Hive. The Hive is built on top of a castle and when I was younger my parents discovered a passage to the castle, this passage goes under the barrier. Last time I was there I had no idea the library was there under the castle.” Crow paused and looked at the team. “We have the chance to discover something so incredible, so amazing that it could change the Equestria we live in forever. Through the past we could change the future. NOW!” Crow smiled, “Let’s go meet history!”
