Moon Light's eyes open as he groans and sits up in bed, Moon Light is a Bat pony, but he is not nocturnal despite the fact that he is a bat pony because he was raised since he was a baby foul by his adopted parents, both of which are pegasi in the beautiful city of Cludsdale. Moon Light sat on the side of his bed rubbing his eyes. His father calls to him from the other side of his door. "Moon Light, you in there champ? Its time for school." Moon Light groaned quietly to himself before answering. "Yeah dad I know, I'm up okay I'll be down in a second" Moon Light sits, his head buried in his hooves and grunts in angry frustration, as he moves his hooves up his face and through his black and green mane. "Buck School" he said quietly to himself. He slid off his bed onto his hooves and exited his bedroom, picking up his backpack and throwing it over his shoulder as he went. "Morning champ" his father said greeting Him with a smile as he entered the kitchen "ready for school?" Moon Light wordlessly gestured toward his backpack before responding "As I'll ever be dad" Moon Light began poring himself a bowl of frosted hey flakes. "Do you think you'll make any friends this year" his father asked as if it was just idle banter. The question nearly made Moon Light crush the box between his hooves. "Why would you ask that? Is it funny to you, the way everypony else treats me?" Moon Light could feel his temper rising as he tried not to yell, his emerald green eyes burned with fury. "I didn't mean it like that...look this isn't middle school you classmates have grown up now, chances are you won't hear a word from them about you being a bat pony." His father replied, his eyes returning to the morning paper. "That's what you said when I started middle school remember?" Moon Light said as he sat down to eat his breakfast. The rest of the morning preceded in silence until it was time for Moon light to go school. He rose from the table and put his backpack on again and proceeded out the door without a word. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Moon Light arrived at school, he climbed the stares leading up to the building and entered through the main doors which were propped open with a door stop for ease of access. As he passed the office a mare at the front desk called his name "Yeah," he responded in confirmation. "Here" she said, she handed him a class schedule with his name on it and a lock with a locker number and combination written on a sticky note attached to the back of it. Moon Light walked down the hall to his locker when suddenly he was shoved to the floor, he slid for a few feet before slamming into a row of lockers and coming to an abrupt halt, looking up he saw a silver pegasi stallion with a yellow mane standing over him. Bolt Blaze looked down at Moon Light on the floor, laughing snidely "Hey freak, so nice to see you again" Bolt said snickering maniacally, Bolt and several other pegasi walked off laughing. Moon Light started to pick himself up off the floor when a young pegasi mare walked up to him, "I'm sorry about Bolt, let me help you up" she reached a hoof out to him, Moon Light knocked it aside. "get away from me Sun Gleam, go back to your jerk of a boy friend, I don't need your help" he said as he got back on his hooves. Sun Gleam watched him walk away down the hall as she thought to her self "It's not his fault, he's just acting like what everyone treats him like,...a freak, a.....monster."
