2- Meeting
It’s pretty funny, how simple things were back then. I was walking in Ponyville, my new home since I’d settled down to live a boring life with my wolf husband and new pony-wolf daughter, before I saw one of the most beautiful mares I’d ever seen. Her pink coat complimented her blue mane absolutely perfectly, and her cutie mark seemed to radiate with some gracious power. I stopped in my tracks, looking at this mare I’d never seen before, and her gaze caught mine.
I stared into her large, green eyes, practically glowing and reflecting across all of Ponyville from where I was standing. She shifted her gaze away from mine and I, well, didn’t want to see her go. I ran up to her a little impulsively, my wings erect, and greeted her.
“Hi.”
The pink and blue mare seemed surprised, despite the simplicity of my words, and blushed lightly. It was immediately clear to me she was very shy, a rather uncommon trait among unicorns.
“O-oh..! H-h-hi…”
My smile had to be as warm as ever, discovering this beautiful mare to also have this adorable, nervous stutter. “Is something wrong? I’m not gonna hurt you,” I tried to make my words as soft and gentle as possible. My efforts clearly weren’t rewarded when she looked straight down.
“I-I know..” Her voice sounded weak and broken, but I didn’t really care. It just made her so much cuter.
“Hey, lighten up,” I tried to cheer her up, starting to blush myself.
“I-I’m just.. a l-little s-shy..” Her words seemed to ease into my ears, confirming my suspicions earlier about her being shy. I wasn’t sure if I was lucky for finding such a cute mare or unlucky for her being so immediately nervous around me, but I continued to show apathy to her nervousness.
“There’s nothing to be shy about, dear, I’m not going to bite,” I filled my words with as much encouragement as I could.
“O-oh.. well I-I don’t want to.. waste any of your time..”
“Nonsense!” I called that out a lot louder than I wanted to, and ponies around us turned to face us curiously. “I have too much time not to waste it, hehe.”
We must have been quite a sight because the ponies started to gather around us, clearly making my shy new friend even more uncomfortable. Her voice sounded more broken. “I-I don’t know….”
I smiled and started walking, gesturing for her to follow me. This audience simply would not do if I was going to get anything at all out of this meeting. I at least wanted to get a kiss, even if just on the cheek. That much would at least show potential for more. Thankfully, she followed me.
I kept walking, slowing down so she could catch up. As soon as she and I were side-to-side, I spoke in a quiet voice. “You’re pretty cute..” I immediately regretted those words when she blushed a deep crimson and didn’t respond, barely keeping pace with me. I started feeling bad, looking at her sadly. “Am I really that scary..?”
She stopped, sitting down and looking at me blankly. Her blush remained. “N-no, I’m just.. not a t-talkative pony..” I chuckled softly, still feeling completely and totally attracted to how cute she was.
“You don’t need to talk.. I’ll do plenty for the both of us, my beautiful pony..” I built up my courage, hoping her shyness wouldn’t shut her body down, and gave her a soft hug. “Words are overrated.”
The mare jumped and let out a cute squeak, seemingly startled by my sudden hug. A warmness filled my head as I hugged her, starting to blush.
“Oh.. Sorry, that was uncalled for, wasn’t it?” My body pulled back, though my mind didn’t stop feeling that hug for a very long time. I glanced into her eyes as the hug broke and smiled, seeing her warmth and excitement, subtle deep in her expression.
The mare looked surprised, maybe even a little hurt after I broke the hug. “N-no, I um.. d-don’t mind..” She looked up into my eyes, pleasuring me with a sweet smile. “It’s f-fine..”
I returned her gaze by staring back into her large, beautiful eyes. I was almost completely lost inside of their shining beauty when her calm voice interrupted my trance.
"Um.. your eyes are.. p-pretty.." Her blush deepened and spread across her face. She was just too cute.
"Thank you, but yours are prettier," I flirted back, filled with some copious dose of warmth thanks to the mare's compliment.
"Th-thank you.." She looked down to the ground and let her voice trail off and become quieter as the two words passed her lips.
I tilted my head, wondering how such a gorgeous mare could be so self-conscious. It was almost painful.. this pony could be a model- no, she could train models.. but the mere thought of talking to a stranger makes her tense up and back away in shyness and anxiety. That's what I thought, before I got to know her.
"What's your name?" I asked her, almost expecting some beautiful, graceful response from her, wielding a beautiful, graceful name.
"Um.. I.. don't know.." Well, that was disappointing. "Ponies usually j-just call me whatever they want.. usually not very k-kind names, either.."
I felt my heart flutter for a second then sink down, like a balloon deflating inside of me. "W-well," I cleared my throat, trying to hide the sorrow I felt that such a beautiful creature could have been bullied, "That will not do. How about I call you.."
My eyes searched her body, my mind tried to think of a good, fitting name for her, and my hooves reached up to her back and started delicately rubbing it, trying to take on a comforting feel. A name to compliment her incredible beauty and cuteness..
"How about Annie?" I questioned her for her opinion, hoping she's like it. Her approval, in that second, was the only thing that mattered to me.
She blushed lightly, seeming a little intrigued at the name, and even seeming to recognize it slightly. As if it was familiar to her. As if it was close to a name she already..
"I-Ilike it.." Her voice interrupted my thoughts. "It's pretty.."
I grinned at her. "Very well, from now on, you are my Annie," I spoke with authority. But I had to wonder. What was her real name..? A sudden idea came to me and I ran away from her, suddenly, calling back, "Be right back!"
She stood still, watching me gallop away. Giving a small sigh, she laid down on the ground, closing her eyes to wait for me. I got back to her right before she fell asleep, tapping her shoulder gently. When she saw what I was carrying in my mouth, her eyes widened and her blush returned, deeper than ever. "A-are those for me?" Her voice gave a audible squeak on the last word.
I blushed as well, taking the purple and red flowers out of my mouth with my hoof and holding them out to her. "Beautiful flowers for a beautiful mare.. there all yours," I kept my voice soft and silky. "My Annie.."
She used her magic to take them out of my hoof and stared at them from above. I chose them very carefully. A bundle of beautiful purple flowers from the Everfree Forest, with a few similarly shaped red flowers spaced out between them. In the middle of the whole bouquet, a group of three deep red roses poked out at Annie's face in a perfect formation. I chuckled, feeling proud of the gift, as Annie remained speechless.
"Sorry it took so long," I told her in a tone softer than my breath, "I couldn't find roses good enough without having to pick them myself."
"U-u-um.. thank you.." She got up off the ground and kissed my cheek happily.
My wings shot outward when she kissed me and I had trouble staying on my hooves. If I'm reacting this way to a peck on the cheek, maybe I shouldn't want more.. it could be bad for my health.
She relaxed down on the ground and admired her flowers more, not noticing my new, flustered state. "Really.. thank you.. they're so.. p-pretty.."
I smiled widely at her. "Of course.. just giving beauty to more beauty-"
Annie cut me off, which seemed slightly odd with how shy she was. Normally shy ponies are thinkers, listeners.. they don't really say anything unless it's bothering them enough. "O-oh!" Clearly this was bothering her enough. "I d-didn't mean to imply you're not pretty, y-you are, you're j-just as pretty as these flowers.. s-sorry.." Her large, adorable eyes looked up into mine, and if the silly thing had angered me, I knew that her gaze would have been more than enough to banish evey bit of the anger from my feelings. She was just simply too cute.
I looked at her, the sun beating down and trying to match the warmth of my smile. "They're not nearly as pretty as you.. and I'm not either." Truer words had never been spoken.
Poverty and the struggle to survive left a long-lasting scar on me. Never again did I ever eat enough, in fear of food running low. My instincts were permanently sharpened. My reflexes were superpony-level. And of course, there's my special ability.. we can get to that later.
All of those permanent scars laid underneath my slightly menacingly gray coat and my radiant, chestnut-colored mane, contrasting the color of my coat in excellent balance. I looked beautiful, but thanks to those events.. I could never feel so, ever again.
Let's take a look at how messed up my thought process was: You look down. Your hooves are dirty. Your thoughts are probably "I should wash my hooves" or "It'll come off while I walk." Mine aren't quite so simple. Upon inspection of filth on my hooves my first thought becomes "I can't touch anymore.. I'll have to get some socks out of the dumpster to help treat it." That's not healthy, is it? Yeah, I don't think so, either.
Anyways..
It's amusing how things turn out. Turning from a mare who trusted nobody into what I am now. What Annie turned me into.. shh, no peeking! You'll have to keep reading to find out more.
Annie looked up at me, as if surprised by my words, then looked straight back down with a cute blush. "You're sweet.."
I shook my head. Me? Sweet? I'm way too sour to be sweet, but instead of saying that, I chose to just get eye-level with Annie. "Not nearly as sweet as you.."
"Um.. no.. I think you're much sweeter.."
A smirk reached across my face. "And that makes you even sweeter, my Annie.."
She sat there with a blank expression, probably trying to process what I said. "W-well.. I guess um.. I can be the sweeter one.." She looked up at me with what had to be the most adorable smile anypony could muster, ever. "For a while.."
My heart was melting. I could feel it liquidating inside of my chest and sloshing through my body into my stomach, trying to settle there, yet still beating. My stomach, honestly, felt horrible but everything else during this moment was too blissful to pass up, under any circumstances.
I pushed my tongue out and flattened it on her cheek, running it along her face, ever-so-gently..
Suddenly she pulled away, blushing, and then kissed me. Softly, but firmly. Right on the lips. Remember when I said too much could be bad on my health? Well at this point my heart was racing at at least 200 beats per minute. Even after she broke the kiss with a blush. "I'm sorry.. that was t-too much.."
I thought for a split second how to respond, but decided to let my instincts take over. "Too much? Nonsense.." My body moved on its own and before I knew it I'd locked my lips with hers in a stronger, deeper kiss than the previous. She tasted sweet, her lips warm and soft, the inside of her mouth being like that of pomegranate-flavored cotton candy.. and a small aftertaste of bubblegum. The divine taste of Princess Celestia herself probably couldn't compete with this taste.
The kiss broke, unlike my gaze into her eyes. Even today we stare into eachother's eyes like we did that day so very long ago. Full of love, warmth, passion, desire; full of romance, lust, and.. something else. In both of our eyes it was clear to either of us. Deep inside was the pains of our past, forever to stay inside of us, locked away; never to be erased. If they were, catastrophe would be certain. Completely and absolutely certain.
"You're a cute pony, um.." She looked at me curiously, her eyes shining. "W-what's your name..?" Wait, she doesn't know? We just kissed in a field and she doesn't even know my name? I rolled my eyes. Stupid.. I'm so stupid!
After worrying she'd seen my eyes roll at my own stupidity, I quickly recovered from my own self-disapproval. "O-oh! My name is Nevaylin.." To think I'd given this pony a name before she even knew mine. "Do you really not remember your real name..?" As hesitant to push the matter I was, I couldn't ignore the curiosity. Her only response was her head shaking though, indicating that her only name from this point was, indeed, Annie; a name for her of my own fabrication. I wasn't sure if that was good or bad. But I liked the name.
"So.. N-Nevaylin.. you are a c-cute pony.." Annie was genuinely flirting with me at this point. "I really l-like your colors.." To say I was happy is an understatement too strong to exist. Just to begin to express my pleasure I have to delve into my complicated vocabulary: I was ecstatically exhilarated and filled up to the maximum capacity with adrenaline fueled and driven by pure, blazing, intense love, pulsing deep within me and extending itself into the every atom of my body. It was good.
"You've.. been so k-kind to me, um.. is there anything I can do..?" She again looked up at me with her huge emerald eyes. "To return the k-kindness..?"
Oh, the things that went through my head. The things my body actually did were stale and boring in comparison. With a shrug I replied, "The kindness is yours.. feel no need to return it." With that said I extended one of my wings and put it around her, pulling her closer with it. "All yours.." I laid one of my arms on her, feeling her steady breathing increase slightly. She smiled.
"Have you ever had another pony.. preen your wings..?" Annie looked into my eyes, shyness still slightly prominent in her expression. "If not.. I'd um.. like to fix that.."
Being the poetic genius I still am today, I had a vast spread of ways to respond to her offer. Among these, I chose the most effective. "Okay.. sure." Bingo, Nevay-Romeo. Wherefore art thou?
Annie giggled and grabbed my wing softly. I watched her closely, wondering if she was actually going to do what it looked like she was. Spoiler: She was. With a gentle lick, my wings extended the rest of their full length and stiffened; I couldn't have moved them even if I wanted to. She continued on with the treatment, softly licking each individual feather, biting and kissing them, straightening and grooming them.. I stretched them out more for her and she giggled again, this time cuter and less shyly. She seemed to be warming up to me. "Does that feel good..?"
I nodded, blushing a little as she reached the feathers closer to the base of my wing. I extended them as much as they could possibly be, exposing every inch of them. "Your wings.. they're, um.. beautiful.." My blush deepened.
Unfortunately she did eventually finish up preening my wings and all of my pleasure was fading. I had to act fast. "Hey, Annie.. you cleaned up my wings, so how about I return the favor..?"
A curious look at me showed she didn't know what I was talking about. "I don't h-have wings, Nevaylin.."
"Did I say wings?" I chuckled, taking on a seductive expression. "Ever had another pony suck- I mean, clean your horn..?"
"N-No.. but I think I'm about t-to.."
I grinned at her and moved my face to hers, planting a quick kiss on her lips before angling upwards and licking her horn. Oddly enough it tasted a little like her saliva inside of her mouth; this time without the bubblegum taste. It seemed even sweeter, too. I moved further upwards until I was eye-level with the tip of her horn. It was smooth, rounded at the top, like any other unicorn's horn.
I gave the tip a quick kiss and lick, eliciting soft, pleasured moans from Annie. I pulled back an inch and took another look at it, discovering a small spark of magic erupting at the tip. "That's so um.. s-stimulating.." Annie said, clearly enjoying herself.
Putting her horn into my mouth, I heard a few more pleasant moans coming from Annie. I pushed my tongue under her horn and started to move it in circular motions, swirling my saliva and undoubtedly pleasuring her horn efficiently. Annie's moans intensified right as I began sucking lightly, wanting to feel her magic in my mouth. My efforts were rewarded when her moans became a small cry of pleasure and I felt an explosion at the tip of her horn, injecting her magic into my body.
"Th-thank you.. that was.. um.." Annie struggled to find words, having just horngasmed into my mouth. "Nice.."
"It was plenty good for me, too.. I kinda want more, hehe." The delicious taste and tingly feeling of her magic lasted a few minutes.
"Oh.. well y-you can um.. have as much as you w-want.. but.." She looked up at me, almost mischievously. "My horn has.. other uses.."
I knew very well what she meant, but had to ask, to make sure she meant what that meant. "Like what?"
"O-oh.. nothing too d-different from what we just did.. but I fear my horn may be too sharp for some of the th-things I have in mind.."
I grinned. "Let's see.." I reached up to her horn and felt the smooth, rounded tip, still wet with my saliva. Upon letting go she looked at me curiously. "Definitely not too sharp."
My grin widened as her grin formed. "You should p-probably get into a m-more comfortable position.." Knowing what she meant, I turned around and lowered the front of my body, my flank rising in response. A giggle escaped Annie as she stared at my plot. "That's good.."
Keeping my flank in the air, I felt an odd sensation on my marehood. Is that her breath? I blushed deeply. So she's..
Lick.
Every thought in my head went blank as her tongue delicately danced on the surface of my marehood, and I knew if it wasn't already wet with arousal, it was most definitely soaked that second. Annie was tasting my fluids, my private mare juices. And I loved it.
"Mm.." Annie licked her lips, licking my marehood again but not going any deeper. "You t-taste sweet.. like chocolate.."
I won't lie. I've stuck chocolate up there before, out of curiosity, but I really didn't think the taste was going to stick around. Maybe it was just my natural taste, as weird as that seems. Either way I tasted good.
Lick.
She got me again. “U-um.. so what do you say w-we start.. for real..?” I turned my head to look at her and found her pointing her horn at my marehood, preparing to plunge it in. I spread my legs just a bit, hoping her magic wouldn’t be too strong. All the stories of mares having the insides of their vaginas electrocuted and fried had to come from somewhere.
My worried feelings turned into pure pleasure as she slowly pushed the very tip of her horn into me. Giving soft moans, I decided it’d be okay.. as long as she didn’t start glowing and shooting tons of magic into it. Upon getting her horn about an inch into me, Annie released a small spark of magic that I felt spread through my body, giving me pleasant shivers.
Without warning Annie suddenly thrust her horn in much deeper, reaching halfway. This time, though, a small spark of magic erupted and didn’t cease its warm tingling; I felt it spreading through my body, unbreaking and unfading, filling my with a warm sensation. “H-How is that..?”
I snapped back to attention, realizing I’d been gazing off into space, doing nothing else but drooling and giving small moans. Reaching my arm up to wipe away the saliva rolling down my chin, I responded. “Amazing.. you’re really g-good at this, hehe.”
Annie stopped for just a second. “R-Really? This isn’t something I’ve d-done before..” Upon starting again I felt her push more of her horn into me, quickly picking up her speed. In only ten seconds, her horn was as deep as it was possibly going to get inside of me. Her magic continued playing around inside of my marehood. “R-Ready..?”
I nodded, smiling. Thankfully I knew what she was going to do; if I didn't my body probably would not have been ready and I may have even orgasmed instantly. That would’ve been a total ruiner for Annie’s first time.
She started thrusting her horn in and out of me, magic shooting off into my body each time her horn fully entered me. I let out more pleasured moans, slowly getting louder, before she pulled out completely. I looked back again, about to ask why she stopped, but was cut off when the tip of her horn poked my plothole. My tail flicked upwards and I flinched a little in surprise.
She was smiling. She had to be; I could feel it. I could feel the smile inching across her face, holding back her laughter, inspired by my surprise. This pony had to be the dominant kind. That was the only explanation I could think of. A shy, dominant, beautiful, cute unicorn.. as a submissive pegasus, I hit the jackpot.
Suddenly with full force and no warning at all her horn was all the way inside of my plothole- ignoring any resistance put up. I was just really glad she’d done of a good job of lubricating it in my marehood, or that would have hurt. It only took three thrusts before I felt an orgasm coming. My moans intensified and I started to sweat, blushing deeply. I wanted to last longer, so she could get some more pleasure out of this. Biting my lip, I flexed my plothole, hoping to help pleasure her horn by squeezing and pushing it with my anal muscles. In response I was rewarded with the persistent tingling magic she’d kept inside of me exploding, sending waves of pleasure throughout my body. That wave was the last part- all it took to push me over the edge. I struggled to hold back the orgasm but only intensified it, cumming directly into Annie’s face. The feeling of her magic stayed in every part of my body, causing me to tremble.
“W-Was I good..?” Annie looked into my eyes after pulling her horn out of me.
“Like I said,” I turned to her, taking a few steps, then kiss her on the nose. “You’re really good at this..”
She giggled cutely after I kissed her then turned and walked away. “I um.. w-would like to do this again s-some time, if you don’t mind..” Well I certainly didn’t mind. But my husband probably did.
Choosing to keep that to myself, I waved back. “Yeah, of course.. I look forward to it!~” I watched her trot off, smiling. Next time, I’d be sure to get a good taste of her other parts.. parts even better than her wonderful horn.
3- Cheating
"Razor, what would your say if I told you I cheated on you..?" Okay, probably a bad question to ask one week after having a child. But guilt was eating me alive.
"I would be fucking pissed considering we just had a beautiful child." Yeah, asking was a bad idea.
"R-Right.." I giggled nervously, trying to play it all off as theoretical. It didn't work.
"Go say goodbye to her- you are never to see her again or I'm taking Rin and leaving." Okay, him I could live without, but losing my brand new daughter felt.. irresponsible, in a way. I didn't want her to grow up motherless or with some other mare. I was her mother and wanted to stay that way..
I gave a small, exhausted sigh, then got an idea. "What if she became our maid..? Or uh, you know.. " I poked Razor's side, hoping he knew what I was getting at. "Pet..?"
He considered the idea for a minute. "Alright." No single word had ever made me so happy. I flew out of our house and straight back to where I first met Annie. She was sitting on the ground on the side of the road, waiting for me. I landed so close to her I almost knocked her over, then kissed her cheek sweetly. We'd had a few erotic meetings since the last I'd mentioned and even discovered that the stiffness of wings allows them to be slowly and carefully fed into a pony's marehood. Surprisingly enough, despite the fun things we'd done, I still hadn't so much as licked her marehood once. Any time I tried to she found some subtle way to stop me, as if preserving herself. Odd considering I'd already been wing-deep inside of her.
"Um.. so what'd he say..?" After telling Annie I was married her reaction was a mix of guilt and anger. The reasoning behind both emotions should be obvious enough.
"We can be together on one condition.. you become our, uh.." A delicate way to word what I was saying doesn't even exist. "Slave."
Her expression quickly turned from shock and surprise to anger. She pushed me away with a glare that shattered my mind and heart to pieces. "A-Are you saying that.. that bastard wants t-to enslave me..? So that WE can be together..!?" She had a point. "I-I'm not bending over and doing what that jerk says.." She turned and started to walk away. Feeling an itch on my face I reached up, rubbing under my eyes. To my surprise the area was wet. I was crying. For the first time in years I felt a tear gently slide down my face, slowly but evenly. It would have been pleasant under other circumstances.
I turned away from the mare of my dreams and took flight, not even noticing the ominous storm clouds had set forth a heavy thunderstorm. I couldn't have gotten far because as I flew I heard Annie shreak, then suddenly I was falling. I look upwards. Smoke? From my body? The realization hit me when I felt a strange heat in my wings. I'd been struck by lightning. Without notice the ground hit me in the back with incredible force. A red gush of liquid shot out of my mouth and the world went black as I heard Annie call my name.
• • •
"How could this happen?" Annie stared at the body of her new lover lying in a bed at the hospital. It was no surprise Nevaylin was still asleep. She had been since the accident, exactly eleven months and twenty-nine days ago. The next day was going to be the first anniversary- not that it mattered.
Annie visited Nevaylin every day, regardless of occasion. How could she not? Nopony else did, and she did grow quite fond of her while they were together. She set a bouquet of flowers next to Nevaylin's bed. Just like every other day for the past year. If you have such a great family, why don't they visit you..?
The doctors called it a coma, but Annie knew it was more. Not only was Nevaylin stuck sleeping, but she was stuck sleeping with a broken heart. She checked the clock. Twelve A.M.
A full year, then. It was officially the anniversary of the accident. Annie watched her marefriend breathe softly. It was cruel, she thought. That this happened. That this happened to Nevaylin. She tried as hard as she could not to blame herself, or Nevaylin. Thanks to that she succeeded and instead pinned her blame on Razor. Someone had to be responsible, even if not directly.
Nevaylin shifted slightly as Annie stared. She shifted slightly. She shifted. Movement.
Annie called out quickly- for every day of the past year Nevaylin hadn’t once moved or shown any sign of life at all, except for her breath. Her chest rising and falling slowly, almost unnoticeable, was the only movement she’d seen from Nevaylin for a whole year. Until now. Nurse Redheart rushed into the room and Annie explained what she saw. Nurse checked Nevaylin’s pulse among other things, and then looked at Annie sadly.
“I’m sorry..” Nurse Redheart blushed a little. “That was a sign she may get better in the future.. nothing more.”
Annie smiled. It was still a sign. And a sign meant the world to her, it meant that Nevaylin could still wake up from her long nap.
Nurse Redheart eyed her curiously. “Shouldn’t you be upset..?”
“It’s means she’s getting better.. do you know how long it could be?”
“There’s no knowing.” Nurse Redheart smiled. “It could be tomorrow.. or it could be another long year. But we’ll keep waiting and monitoring her well. And we’ll make sure the first thing she knows when she wakes up is that you did just as much waiting and monitoring.”
Annie yawned. She knew Nevaylin would get better. She simply had to.. if she didn’t she wouldn’t forgive herself. Nurse Redheart narrowed her eyes a little after her yawn. “You can go home.. we’ll alert you tomorrow if there’s any further change.”
With a nod and a quick kiss on Nevaylin’s forehead, Annie walked out of the room. She navigated her way through the halls, looking into rooms occasionally. Eventually she reached one room. The door was closed but for some reason she felt compelled to look inside. Every bone in her body was against it, but something was pulling her hoof to the door. She pushed it open unwillingly and looked inside.
Across the room was a dark corner; pitch-black, despite the new source of light flooding the room. A pair of yellow, glowing eyes stared at her from the darkness. W-What..?
Instantly she felt her energy being drained. Her legs began to shake, her heart rate slowed. Her mind was filled with pain and dread, a feeling of weakness overwhelming her. A tear rolled down her face and hit the floor just as something touched her side, making her snap out of her episode. A glance to the side revealed Nurse Redheart.
“Uh, miss? Are you alright?” The nurse looked at Annie, concerned, before putting her hoof up to her head. “You seem to be getting a fever.. I suggest you go home and get some rest.”
Annie looked back into the room, finding that the eyes have vanished. “Yeah..” She turned back away from the room and continued walking. “You’re right.. I need rest.” However, that night, her dreams were filled with images of those yellow eyes. Her mind wouldn’t abandon them or forget them. Those eyes were burned into her mind, long before she even saw them.

“Mmh..” I felt my ears perk up and twitch a little at the sound of my own voice. It sounded different.. unfamiliar. In fact, everything felt that way, too.. my limbs wouldn’t move properly, my wings were completely numb, and my eyes felt like they refused to open. It was as if every muscle in my body was disagreeing with what my brain told them to do. With a little work, however, I eventually worked my eyes open.
I was greeted by.. whiteness. Nothing but white. White ceiling, white walls, white light. White smells, white sounds, white feelings. I couldn’t remember anything from before I fell asleep. I worked as hard as I could, starting to sweat lightly, and got one of my hooves to move an inch upwards. “Progress..” I whispered to myself.
Out of nowhere a blue and pink figure filled my vision, as well as two green ovals outlined in white. It was kind of startling, waking up unable to move then suddenly finding that, but finally my eyes started listening to me and I realized it was a pony. A beautiful pony.
“H-Hello there..” I smiled, a little seductively. “Who are you-” Memories quickly flooded through my mind. Meeting Annie, the discussion with Razor, getting struck by lightning, the pain of hitting the ground.. “Oh.. hi, Annie.”
Annie’s grin could not have possibly been wider. Her expression was full of surprise. I don’t think I’d ever seen her so happy before then; it filled me with glee. But why was she so happy, just seeing me awake?
“N-Nevaylin..!” She put her arms around me, pulling me up into a hug. Her face pushed against my chest and a wet, warm feeling joined it. “I-I thought you.. I thought you were..” She thought I was going to die.
I giggled, rubbing her back reassuringly. “It takes a lot more than that to finish me off.. how long have I been out?”
She looked back up to me, a little bit of surprise on her face, as if she doubted that I’d ask that. Talk about unsettling. “U-Um.. well..” She stepped back and scuffled her hooves on the ground. “L-Long..”
I tilted my head a little, looking into her eyes curiously until she shifted her gaze downward, refusing to meet my eyes. Not a good sign. “How long?”
She looked back up to me, letting out an exhausted sigh. A very weak, nervous-looking smile spread across her lips and she stared at me. Was she expecting me to read her mind? To somehow know what this meant? I started to feel slightly impatient when she spoke again. “H-Happy birthday..” Her voice trailed off. “Twice..”
Lemme just say I didn't know ponies could survive being in a coma for two full years. Plus, I didn't feel or look a day older than I did before, and I doubt they gave me the best of diets. What the hay was holding me together? Not only was I alive, but I was in good condition- just as good as before the accident.
As if reading my mind, Annie shrugged. "The nurse said there was some strange magical force sustaining your body." How nice of it. "Do you know w-where it could be coming from..?"
I was about to say no when I remembered. I got struck by lightning because I was going back to see my family, I was going back to see my family because I was about to lose them.. and then I disappeared for two years.
My eyes shot open and I jumped out of the bed, managing to fall over. Graceful. I put every bit of my strength into standing. I had to get home or I might never have seen my precious daughter again.
Annie gasped when I fell, but I didn't even notice her panic until she frantically pulled me up off of the ground and put one of her arms around me to support me. The problem? Annie didn't exactly lift weights or anything. As soon as I got any bearings from her support, she dropped me back down to land flat on my face.
This isn't going to work.. I got up again, this time on my own. My arms shaked, my knees were wobbly, but I was on my hooves- definite progress.
As if to remind me that nothing can ever go well, though, as soon as I tried to take a step, my left arm buckled under me and I fell down on it. Ignoring the pain of my hopefully not broken hoof, I stood back up. A wave in front of my face showed my hoof wasn't broken; that's all I needed to know.
Well, okay, I also needed to know how to work my limbs; they'd been dormant for two years, it's only fair they didn't work properly. That doesn't make it any less inconvenient though. Annie's voice interrupted my efforts. "U-Um.. Nevaylin..? Where are you trying to go?"
"Home." That is, home to my family. "They must be worried.."
"Actually.." Annie's voice was sad, even tragic. "They moved, Nevaylin.. and nopony knows where to.."
Great. That was just bucking great. Not only did I scare my family away, then I didn't look for them once over the course of two years. Imagine that from their perspective. I shook my head, looking straight downwards. "No.."
Annie kept staring at me with her saddened expression. "They didn't visit you.. n-not once. You're husband didn't come or send your children or even send a letter." That made me feel tons better. I sighed.
"R-Right.. I guess I better get used to sleeping outside again.."
Annie blinked a few times, surprised at my words. "N-No way..!" A stomp on the ground immediately dismissed what I said. "Um.. you're staying with me at my place, okay..? I won't let you become homeless.." Her ears perked up suddenly, showing she'd realized something. "Wait, w-what do you mean 'again'..?"
I shrugged, not even looking in her general direction. "Up until three.. er.. five years ago, I just travelled all over Equestria.. I had no home or anything." That was before I met another mare and had my heart broken, which was before I met Razor, and that was about.. three years ago. It's hard to account for two years when you sleep through them.
Annie touched my shoulder, breaking me out of my thoughts. "W-Well you're not going b-back to that.. okay..? It sounds like it was tough.."
It really was. Oh how many times I had been so hungry I ate whatever was in sight. How many times the hunger was so strong it made my legs feel weak and my chest hurt. And yet there was some odd satisfaction that came from it; a kind of freedom. Under the pain was joy, joy knowing I could go anywhere, talk to anypony.. And be almost completely unbound by consequences. It was perhaps the most freedom a pony can ever feel. I even missed it sometimes. But that doesn't mean it was good or healthy for me.
"I'd love to stay with you.. how far is it?" I silently begged that it wasn't far. If it was I would've needed some stallion to carry me. Maybe Annie could pull me in a wagon; that'd be an amusing sight.
She shrugged. "A bit of a distance.. but you can make it." Her smile was more gorgeous than ever. Maybe because it was my first time seeing it in five years.
"Alright then.. let's get going."
She walked out of the room, then reached back and held the door for me. I could just be sucking up but getting treatment like that was really rare for me. To thank her I gave my first kiss in two years to her.
As our lips softly collided I pushed my tongue into her mouth. To my surprise, she didn't back away or attempt to decline my gift. Annie slid her tongue over the top of mine, back into my mouth. After at least two minutes of our frenching, Nurse Redheart poked my side. As I broke the kiss to look at her, she gave me a look of high disapproval. "Either stay here and recover more or go home, please."
Some ponies just can't appreciate the beauty of love. I nodded at Annie and we continued on our path, getting out of the clinic. "What town am I in again?" She looked at me as I asked the question, clearly concerned. "I used to travel all over Equestria.. I've woken up in too many clinics to remember half of them, Annie."
With an understanding smile and a small giggle, she pointed around us, gesturing to the whole town. "This is Ponyville's main clinic."
"Ponyville.." Ponyville was a surprisingly large town. It's easy to get around and memorize, and from bird's-eye view it's not that big, but it was well-known nonetheless. Something told me this had to do with it being one of very few towns that legitimately changed seasons with no magic, and on top of that, all of the elements of harmony reside here. A small town that's grown so large. Poetic.
I thought to myself. This is where I met her.. A rainbow-maned Pegasus passed overhead and I glanced up. Narrowing my eyes, I decided it wasn't worth it to mess with it. "Come on.. let's go." I started walking, not caring if I was even going the right way. Annie trotted to catch up, and the lack of her protest told me I was at least going in the right direction.
We passed through the area we'd first met; close to the center of town. My thoughts were finally starting to process fully for the first time since I woke up. Feeling my legs getting tired, I waved my hoof. "Let's rest.." I sat down next to the road, not bothering to wait for Annie's answer.
“How far away is it?” Surely it couldn’t have been too far, unless she lived right on the outskirts of Ponyville.
“Well.. um.. we still have a w-while to go.” She answered my question with a sad smile. “I live on the outskirts of Ponyville..” Why did I even bother asking?
“Alright, just give me a few minutes to catch my breath.” I stayed still, sitting and letting my lungs work and build up strength. Whatever magical force kept my body in good condition did a good job. The worst damage I had was all of my muscles being tired.
I got up again, a determined grin on my face. Prideful thoughts filled my mind. I think I can make it the rest of the way without a rest.. And after a good while of walking, not only was my body used to moving again, we reached Annie’s house.
Annie sped up her walking, opening the door for me again. “P-Please..” She giggled, blushing. “Allow me..” I won’t lie, I was tempted not to give her what she wanted as I walked through the door. Unfortunately a stronger temptation overtook my body and I once again found my lips pressed against hers. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the kiss to its fullest, then I broke the kiss, walking inside.
“I’m awaiting the grand tour.” A giggle escaped Annie’s lips as I stood in the center of her living room.
“A-Alright.. this is the living room.. there’s a b-bathroom upstairs, as well as my bedroom.. your bedroom is over there..” She pointed to a door leading to another section of the house.
I forced a disappointed smirk into my expression. “So I won’t be sharing a bed with you..?” My question was legitimate and completely innocent, even though rude. A small, cute squeak accompanied an obvious shiver throughout Annie’s body. She answered, “W-Well.. if you w-want to, I guess..”
That was all I needed to hear. I spread my wings and picked her up, flying her up the stairs and into her bedroom- or, so I thought. I ended up accidentally carrying her into the bathroom instead. Disregarding the awkward stare she gave me, I backed out of the bathroom and entered the other door, revealing a clean, rather plain bedroom with a large bed. To this day I don’t know why she had such a large bed.
“If you don’t mind,” My voice seemed to make her jump. “I’d like to get some sleep.. those two years weren’t nearly enough.” My joke brought out another one of her cute giggles.
“A-Alright.. I’ll sleep with you..” She blushed brightly after realizing what she said. “I-I mean, w-we can um.. sleep.. in the same.. bed..” Her voice trailed off and she buried her face in my chest. I couldn’t help smiling as I flew over to the bed and set her down on it, pulling the blanket over her body. After making sure she was snug, I flew over hr to the other side of the bed and worked myself into it, relaxing my body completely. Suddenly two warm, furry arms wrapped around me, causing me to jump. Annie closed her eyes as she rested her head on my chest, holding onto my body to keep us warm. With a genuine smile I closed my eyes, putting my arms around her as well. A gentle, happy sleep came in what felt like only a moment.
